    The sunset
    Carla C.

Loved our sunset tour! The tour included getting picked up from our hotel in Ko Olina by Eddy. He was awesome and gave us so much history on the ride to the harbor. We got to the harbor and Anthony - G and Caden were our crew. They were so friendly, professional, fun and informative. We had the best time ever and would recommend this to anyone visiting Oahu. The sunset was BEAUTIFUL

View of Ka'ena point and west side of Oahu

Great tour guides and an amazing experience! Highly recommend Hawaii Nautical out of West Oahu. Even being early in December, we saw some whales spouting in addition to some flying fish!

    Family pic with uncle Eddie

My post is over a week late. But like they say better late than never. My family had the time of our lives aboard the KoNau Lani. Captain Ian and his crew, Caden and G made sure of that! We had a first class experience sightseeing the big beautiful blue Pacific Ocean with dolphin encounters and our first snorkeling experience that we'll never forget...thank you Caden! G even rigged up the line and put the line out. Unfortunately he didn't catch anything but boy was I praying he would...thank you G! Aboard the boat it was all u can drink and lunch provided. Oh yeah can't forget Uncle Eddie. Uncle Eddie was awesome! He picked us up and was a great tour guide from start to finish. He even went to the store and bought us local pastries (I forget the name). Boy were they good! All in all our tour was about 3 hours and would most definitely recommend Capt Ian and his crew! We walked away feeling like Capt Ian and Uncle Eddie were like family and felt like a family experience! Definitely worth the money! I'd take it a step further and even say these men deserve a raise! Top notch for sure! Thank you for the wonderful experience, Clarks of Flagstaff AZ

The best part of our trip!! The crew and captain are fun and welcoming! Snorkeling in the ocean with the crew is a great highlight as they will point out and bring creature up to you (safely). Boat is great as well, clean and cozy.

Loved our West Oahu sunset cruise with Ian, Caden and G! Great crew, great conversation, great views!

Our guide having fun! She said she will practice and not need anyone to hold her feet on Saturday!

I am so sorry I didn't get all the names! Captain Jack and Whitney are all I can remember , I will do better Saturday! It was amazing! I live in Makaha so see the boat from our back lanai daily. We took our last visitors on the same tour in November 2022 and we were hooked!

    Whale tail with amazing views

100% recommend doing this whale watching tour from Kapolei-Waianae. My husband and I had an AMAZING time on the Ko Nau Lani with our AWESOME Captain Dave and the Crew of Quin & Ian!!! They were so laid back and made our trip SUPER enjoyable. We saw several whales along our 2 hour journey with them and were able to soak up the sun on the deck or just sit inside the cabin while we enjoyed our drinks and chips. This was a trip/activity we will always remember!! And you have an amazing view of the island from off shore this way too!!

    Beautiful views from the boat!

Best Crew! Captain Nick and his crew were phenomenal. Not only very entertaining, but also very knowledgeable about the island. They made sure everyone had a great time. Would absolutely recommend!

    Perfect day!!!

Friendly staff, great drinks, great snorkeling, we saw dolphins right next to the boat and then they swam past us when we snorkeled.

We started at 6am and the morning was a tranquil visit to all the animals in the ocean. Our guides were Connor and Bethany, and they are knowledgeable naturalists and wonderful guides who took good care of us inside and outside of the water. Captain Kim knew we were birders and wanted to take photos of the shearwaters, boobys, and albatrosses and she always positioned the boat while giving us the best and most stable view for photography, while maintaining a respectful distance to the animals to avoid stressing them. We went out to Ka'ena point and had a great view of the Laysan albatross colony. There is truly nothing like having an albatross fly overhead. Along the way, we saw spotted dolphins actively feeding and playing, and also saw spinner dolphins! Seeing the monk seal lounging on the beach was a bonus. The wedge tail shearwaters had just returned so they were busy on the water. We also found masked boobys and brown booby feeding. We also saw turtles at their cleaning station! Connor and Bethany were knowledgeable about the landscape and the ecology and shared wonderful information. They are genuinely the nicest people! Highly recommended. The boat is comfortable and we were taking care of by the team (beverages, snacks, fruits, pastries). Thank you!

Our…read moredaughter is interested in marine biology so I emailed Wild Side to see which of their tours would be the best fit. We went out with 3 different boat charter companies during our time in Oahu and this was by far the absolute best. The west side is so much calmer than the other sides of the island and we got to see and do so much! We swam with spotted eagle rays, turtles, spotted dolphins, and got to see lots of living coral reef. We located and sent in coordinates for a "ghost net" that was too big for us to bring on board so that it could be collected to make sure that it didn't harm any creatures. Their ethics are so spot on - before we left the debris they used the gopro to make sure that there wasn't anything actively entangled. In deeper water we saw false killer whales - tons of them - and spent time watching them and learning about their behaviors. While another boat sent their crew in with them, we did not send anyone into the water with them and there was definitely a change in their behavior when people were in the water with them. We felt like we were part of marine biology on the island while also getting once in a lifetime experiences and photos. The photos are so amazing - definitely worth it to purchase! I can't imagine us going back to Oahu and not doing this again. Obviously the ocean is going to be different every time, but Wild Side's team was just so wonderful and we learned so much. Highly highly recommend!

My seven-year-old did not want to get into the cage initially, but decided to get in on two different occasions thanks to how the captain and his crewmate made him feel. From the moment we arrived, everything felt welcoming and well-organized, but what really made the experience special were our deckhands, Lono and Kama. They were beyond amazing--so knowledgeable, calm, and genuinely passionate about what they do. You can tell they truly care about the ocean, the sharks, and making sure everyone feels safe and informed. Before we even got in the water, they took the time to explain everything--what to expect, how to stay safe, and the importance of respecting these animals in their natural environment. There was no fear-based energy at all--just education, respect, and appreciation. That meant a lot to me. Getting into the cage and seeing the sharks up close was unreal. It's one thing to see videos, but being out there in the open ocean, surrounded by that deep blue, and watching these beautiful creatures move so effortlessly... it really shifts your perspective. It gives you a deeper respect for the ocean and everything in it. What I loved most is that this didn't feel like just a "tour." It felt intentional. It felt local. It felt like we were being invited into something meaningful, not just another activity to check off a list. As someone who believes in supporting local businesses, I can confidently say this is one worth supporting. The team embodies aloha, professionalism, and care--not just for their guests, but for the ʻāina and ocean as well. Huge mahalo to Lono and Kama (and Kala and Makua) for making this experience so special for me, my best friend, and her family. You guys made us feel comfortable, educated, and honestly just in awe the entire time. If you're on the North Shore and looking for something unforgettable--book it. You won't regret it.

Five tiger sharks. FIVE…read more I spent the last month psyching myself up to maybe, hopefully, catch a glimpse of one tiger shark. We got five. I'm still not over it. What made this trip though wasn't just the sharks, it was the crew. Finn, Nika, Tyler, and Lochlan are the real deal. I've done plenty of excursions where the guides are clearly clocking in and counting down to the end of the shift. This was the opposite. When that fifth tiger came through, these four looked like kids in a candy shop. They were losing it right alongside us, because apparently five in one dive is extremely rare. You cannot fake that kind of enthusiasm, and it made the whole day about ten times better. They also know exactly what they're doing. Big animals, open water, and at no point did I feel anything but completely safe. The briefing was thorough, the in-water guidance was calm and clear, and it was obvious this crew has deep respect for the sharks and total command of the situation. That combination of expertise and genuine excitement is rare. Coolest experience of my life with the coolest crew on the water. If you're on the fence about booking with Deep Blue Eco Tours, get off the fence. Ask for Finn, Nika, Tyler, and Lochlan. Ten out of five stars.

Actually, we had originally only planned the snorkel, but it was such a great experience that we booked the shark swim for later in our trip so we could do both. For our snorkel we had an incredible experience seeing dozens of spinner dolphins bow riding our boat on our way out of the harbor - it was such an incredible experience! They took us out to a small rocky island out near Waimea Bay and we got to see lots of fish, coral, and follow a turtle for a little bit. Everyone in our party snorkeled, but our daughter was interested in also diving. Our guide Dallas was great with her - teaching her all the tips and tricks to help her dive down in her snorkel gear. He also retrieved some really pretty shells that he gave to us. The shark swim was really neat - I love that they offer the opportunity for a group to have some people who want to swim and others who want to stay dry on the boat. It's definitely rougher water but they knew exactly where to go and what to do to responsibly call for the sharks and we got to see a lot of them! Our daughter did the swim and had a great experience. The team was extremely skilled and did a great job ensuring a responsible and fun experience for all. We'd definitely recommend them for charters out of Haleiwa!

Being the first boat out in the morning makes a huge difference. The ocean was calm, conditions were excellent, and we weren't surrounded by multiple tour boats. For long stretches it genuinely felt like we had the reef to ourselves. Sam and Ella were in-cred-ible. Professional, knowledgeable, and very clearly people who love what they do. They struck the perfect balance of being attentive while still letting everyone enjoy the experience naturally. We felt extremely safe the entire time, and they were just genuinely joyful humans to spend the morning with. And I have to mention the turtles. We saw at least eight. Not just in the distance-- they were everywhere. Below us in the reef, gliding past us at the surface, popping up for air unexpectedly. At one point we were actively looking around just to make sure we weren't about to bump into one. Also...calling them "little" would be inaccurate. Some of these turtles were big-- absolutely stunning animals. Swimming alongside them, surrounded by hundreds of reef fish, was one of those rare travel moments that sticks with you.
