Great service. Great food. The vibes are so great and it feels so relaxing. The coconuts are delicious and food trucks are great. Theres games outside too so you can play as you wait or after you eat.

Their shaved ice version has a homestyle feel to it but nothing unique about it considering the price is double that of Matsumoto. The management seems to also be unapologetic about running out of spoons and was insisting on giving me a flat wooden spoon to eat my rainbow shaved ice with. They also gave my son a fork for his banana split. Overall, just drive down to Matsumoto where shaved ice is half the price and double the quality and service is better.

I think this place is worth a shot before/after shark cove but it's a bit of a scam. They have snorkeling equipment rentals at high prices, for example. The area all belongs to this North Shore brand and they have two little shops that are very much surf shop, teenagers-at-the-beach vibes. There's people walking all around and no clear service. The workers were mostly teenagers and not the most helpful, but still nice. They gave us loose directions all over the area to buy coconuts and find someone to cut it open when we were done. The guy who cut our coconut was much more hospitable, making small talk and being much more gracious. The coconut itself was $13 (crazy) and not even great. The water was a little sour and the meat was rubbery since the coconut was so young. I've had better coconuts from the asian market back in California. We also got an açaí bowl, again not worth $11 for the size, but it was delicious. Strong açaí flavor, ice-cream texture, crunchy granola, and with 1/3 banana. It was very sweet but in a good way. I'm not unhappy about the experience, but the prices we paid were too much.

Shaved ice was soooo good! The ladies were also super nice. Will come back again. 10/10

I'm so confused why this is currently at 3.7 stars. This was my fav shave ice on Oahu this trip and I've gone to Matsumoto's and Island Vintage! The ice was the softest of the three and was a generous size (although you're only allowed one size and it's basically a large). We got the Hawaiian style shave ice for $7 which gives you 3 flavor choices and vanilla ice cream at the bottom and added condensed milk for $1. I'd say this is a pretty great deal for the quantity and quality compared to the others we'd been to. For our flavors we chose passionfruit, pineapple, and coconut which we thought was a tasty combo! We'll defs be back especially after snorkeling around North Shore!

Their staff was very nice and the portions are quite big. There wasn't a line when I got there so it was prepared pretty quickly and was delicious. My one (quite major) complaint was there wasn't anywhere to sit where you weren't harassed by a pack of bees - I had to stand up and keep moving to avoid them and all the other tables were having similar issues. I'm not entirely sure how they should go about fixing this but it certainly made the experience less fun.

Nothing like a cold treat with a beautiful backdrop! We enjoyed our shaved ice amongst the wild roosters and random rain! When visiting North Shore, you gotta partake in this cheap dose of lovely.

This shave ice spot was wonderful! It was not crowded either! The shave ice was a good price and the service was fast. I went with the melon and mango. I landed on a small because I have seen what regulars look like. In fact my hubby got a regular and asked me to get Spoon and help me eat this, is said no. Of course once I was done with mines I started on his, he didn't add ice cream, I think he regretted this. For three dollars you can enjoy a normal size shave ice. Also known as a small, the add ins are 1 dollar. I don't think that is a bad price at all. The next time my family and I venture to the North Shore we are going to park and walk! Heck, it might be next Sunday. There is also a cool wave and surf ‍ board thing you can take a picture with. My daughter took some super cute photos.

They took about 15 minutes to deliver my cold brew to me. They were not busy at all, and served shaved ice to about 6 guests who ordered after me. Both workers weren't wearing masks correctly (on their chins) when making the shaved ice, and when taking customer's orders. Before I asked them for the cold brew, the man at the counter was sitting on his phone, with his mask off, and vaping.

Right next to Shark's cove (one of the most popular snorkeling areas) and amongst the food trucks, you'll find this shave ice food truck. We got one of their creations "The Local" and loved it, well, Atleast while we were still towards the top because no flavors made it towards the middle and bottom of the ice. After the first few spoons, it was just plain shave ice. The flavors were Lilikoi, Li Hing Hui, Melona and Pineapple. I love the condensed milk on top but was very disappointed with the missing flavors as soon as we got to the middle of the bowl. That may be the one thing I would watch out for, otherwise, great place.

Location was prime (perfect for after a day at sharks cove). The shaved ice itself was pretty good, the syrups I got were mango and passion fruit but definitely on the sweeter side. At $7 a cup, a bit more than some other places but still decent. read more

North Shore Shave Ice is great because it's located just across the street from Shark's Cove which is extremely convenient. The quality is mediocre but the price is pretty good at $4 for a bowl full of shave ice! There is a good variety of flavors to choose from and the girl at the truck was nice. I do wish that the ice was a bit silkier and that they'd have put more syrup on. Overall, it hit the spot but you can definitely get better shave ice elsewhere on the island. read more

30 minutes later and they forgot my shaved ice and root beer float... 15 minutes after I reminded them about it, I finally asked for my money back. No apologies for missing it, just an excuse saying it wasn't their fault and they get a lot of orders. Not sure if it's incompetence that fuels the lack of customer service or just a complete disregard of it. read more

WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! we came for the shave ice & the worker said we could come back at 7:30pm, that is when they closed. i came back at 7:20 to the same worker who was extremely rude & said that their shave ice was in fact already closed. i told her she JUST told me i could come back up until 7:30, that's when she said it closed. she shrugged her shoulders & said "eh it's close enough to 7:30". baffled at how insanely rude this gal was. we will NOT be returning. crappy shave ice anyway. go to Aokis instead. read more

When a huge crowd formed at Matsumoto's about a block away, my cousins and I opted for the tiny shave ice food truck with almost no line. You can also get acai bowls at this food truck. One shave ice size here for $4. Get up to three flavors. Adding ice cream is $1 more. I got pineapple, passion fruit, and li hing mui. The ice cream used is a local brand found in Hawaii supermarkets. Decent shave ice here. Texture is a bit on the granular side; there are places that will shave the ice even finer. Still a good shave ice spot. There are also some other food trucks within a few blocks, so you can get some lunch along with your shave ice. read more

For the record, it's called SHAVE ice. Not SHAVED ice. The reason for this is because I guess the origins of this word come from the local pidgen language. So forget all your grammar rules as the word isn't in past tense! Anyway, I DIGRESS. So this was my first time trying local shave ice in Hawaii! And for $4, I was pretty pleased! We got the pineapple and lychee flavor and it was so good! Pineapple was a bit on the sweet side but lychee was perfect. The ice? IT'S SO FLUFFYYYYYYYYYY. TIP: GET THE ICE-CREAM FOR +$1 MORE. The vanilla ice-cream was so good and perfect with the ice. MOREOVER, on the topic of SUNSETS and SHAVE ICE. This, my friends, is the PERFECT combo. What I recommend is getting one of the shave ices here during the evening and watch the sunset. Order it, sit on the tables, and just enjoy the sunset. Which is exactly what we did. One of my favorite places to get shave ice - the ice has a creamy consistency and the flavors are delicious. I'd recommend bringing some hand wipes though. The bowl they serve in doesn't have a wide enough edge, so you will get sticky read more

We frequented this establishment multiple times during our stay since our rental home was a short walk away. The first night the rude young lady said we just closed we can't help you at 6:20pm. We were hoping for shrimp dinner and shave ice dessert. Really isn't that prime dinner time? The second time we went the shave ice was definitely five stars and the service was -1 stars. The third time we went we were rudely told that they would be closing at six even though Google says they are open later. Our six shave ice were presented to us half the size of what we received on the previous visit without enough syrup to reach the bottom of the cup and since the condensed milk was almost out we only got about half a teaspoon each without caring to open a new can. The ice was big and chunky. The shrimp dinner was meh at best. I think the biggest bummer is just the absolutely crappy attitude of the cashier. I mean sorry to stop your tik tok scrolling! read more

Terrible, slow service. I understand there's a certain island mentality here but this is on a different level. Today wasn't even particularly crowded but we spent an hour here ordering and then getting our shaved ice. It would have been faster if we'd driven to Honolulu and gotten our shaved ice or alternatively looked up how to make shave ice on YouTube and made it myself. read more

I tried calling, but no answer. Luckily, we were nearby and found another good local spot, but we had our mind set on this place. We were leaving on Thursday, so I called ahead to make sure they were open before heading back. Good thing--they were open, and we were able to try some amazing food. It wasn't too busy, but they were already sold out of a few things by noon. We ordered the BBQ chicken quesadillas and a Brazilian lemonade. While waiting for our food, we sat in the covered seating area. It rained off and on, but it eventually stopped, and we stayed dry. Our food took about 15 minutes to be ready, and when it came out, it was super fresh and hot. We enjoyed every bite. It came with black beans and rice, and the Brazilian lemonade was light and super refreshing. Everything was delicious. We would definitely come back again! If you're around, you should check them out.

Prices weren't cheap but competitive for the region. The parking can be scarce and you may have to hang out in your car lying in wait for someone to leave. And people who come to the car are usually NOT in a rush to leave the spaces. The bathrooms were aight for being a beach bathroom. Not great but it will do. Wasn't too smelly or gross when I was there.

Because it sits around, the shrimp is incredibly difficult to peel. Anyone who cooks shrimp knows that if you do not peel it right after cooking, the shell sticks to the meat, which was exactly the case here. The Spicy Shrimp had a decent kick, but it lacked actual flavor. The Shrimp Scampi was better but still bland. Honestly, 9 out of 10 shrimp places back home in Southern California make a better plate. To make things worse, the two ladies managing the truck were rude. My wife asked for extra napkins, not realizing some were already in the bag. The worker snapped back, "Are those not enough?" and made her feel super awkward. We also asked for a cup of ice to go with our canned sodas. They flatly refused and told us to ask another truck nearby. Luckily, the other truck owners were much nicer and gave us the ice. Save your time and money. There are much better, friendlier options out there.

I tried Matsumoto shave ice and it's really good! But at north shore shave ice they have the same flavors, taste and the machines as the famous Matsumoto! The only difference is no long waits for some of the best shave ice in Hawaii!! I loved the local flavors it's called lihing something and the laichee were awesome! My kids loved the other flavor called "Blue Hawaii" Don't pass up the shave ice at this locations and also check out the other food trucks!!! read more

This Shave ice truck is superb with excellent service and ultra good flavors! You have a huge selection of 12 flavors the grape and cherry with ice cream is my personal favorite! It's one size for $4 they are quite massive and filling, you can't go wrong right across from shark's cove. Great shave ice with a ton of flavor combinations. My dad had a li hing, lilikoi and melona mix and I chose to have the cold brew coffee to re-energize from snorkeling all day at sharks cove. The cold brew was very rich and definitely got me going again. I did try the shave ice my dad got and had to go back the next day to get one for myself. If you don't stop here while on the north shore, you're missing out! read more

Absolutely love this shaved ice truck. They have so many flavors to choose from, as well as, many extra additional things. My favorite shaved ice is the cherry, strawberry, and mango with ice cream. Stopped by after eating in the area. Didn't realize they were already closed when we walked up, but Chris hooked us up anyway. The two flavor combinations we got were both delicious. Highly recommend getting the condensed milk on top. Definitely hit it up if you are in the area. read more
