The food came back very fast like less than a 5 minute wait. I got an ahi fish taco and a shrimp taco with pineapple salsa on the side and hot sauce. My favorite thing I got was probably the hot sauce or the salsa. The hot sauce is HOT so be advised but if you like hot sauce I definitely recommend. I feel like the shrimp tacos were overcooked and I didn't particularly like the ahi either. There was also a ton of lettuce on the tacos as well. My friend got the beef quesadillas and stated that it was really oily. There was a lot of outside seating in front of the truck and you can see right into the sharks cove beach. We had been driving past North Shore tacos for a few days. Their sign stating that they had the best tacos was intriguing. We finally decided to try them out. I ordered shrimp taco and a fish taco meals. My wife and I traded out tacos so that we could have one of each. I was very happy with the meals. It was easy to order in the food came out promptly. There are picnic tables to sit at or you can take it home like I did. they did do a very good job with the tacos, rice and beans. I would recommend the food there. read more

I had previously (a year ago?) tried the food truck next to this one and got the shrimp tacos I think? They were not good!! I wrote off this whole area as bad food but two weeks ago I was in the area again, this time with my boyfriend, and he had tried this truck before and said it was good. There's something about a food truck after a long morning of exploring the island that hits the spot! There wasn't much ambiance since it's a food truck located in a little park, but the location is super cool! There were several different trucks, complimentary corn hole, plenty of tables (although we had to wait a few minutes for one), and delicious food! Plus it's right across the road from the beach While ordering I realized I could get a fish burrito instead (I prefer burritos over tacos). The chips and salsa are homemade and their guac is addicting! Incredibly long wait when it didn't seem very busy. Overpriced for small portions of mediocre food.

After some fun snorkeling at sharks cove we went to the food trucks across the street. This one caught our eye because the salad looked just like one our favorite Cafe Rio orders. We LOVED every bite. The food was so fresh, the flavors incredible. Their shredded beef burrito and chicken quesadilla were so good as well. They have 2 salsas that we loved but the pineapple salsa was the best! We saw they had tres leches cake for dessert and had to go back for a slice after we finished our food. It was probably the best I've ever had. We will always visit this truck when we come back to visit. Wish we had one back home. Great job on food and service!! read more

Been to this location many times when I am in the area. The last few times....well it has wiped out on flavor. I ordered two fish tacos a la carte that came out to $21.00. It was pricey for what it was but heck the company paid for it as I was on a work trip. When I received the tacos they forgot the pineapple salsa. They told me it was an additional $2.00 charge even though it was there mistake and owned up to it that was their fault as they were changing cashiers when placing my order and forgot to add it. Most places would just give it yo you, right? Nope. Can't make this up but what they gave me was shocking: not even a bite size paper ramekin of crushed pineapple with salt and pepper!! Yup folks, these are those tiny ramekins you see at burger places to put ketchup in to dunk the fries, but even the ones at Disneyland are bigger. You would think they have plenty of pineapple considering the Dole pineapple plantation is just down the highway and a grocery store next door. Seriously $2.00 for that to cover TWO tacos?? Even John Cusack in "Better off Dead" had a better deal with the paperboy!! What was worse than $23.00 and change for two tacos and a smidgen of pineapple slush they called salsa,, the fish was Daaaaaaaays old. I took one bite of each tacos to make sure I was not mistaken and they smelled and tasted terrible! I sat there outside on the picnic bench deciding ...hmmmm do I take a chance and keep eating to lose those 10 pounds for summer with food poisoning or throw it away to enjoy the rest of my trip?? We were looking for a meal with the Hawaiian touch and North Shore tacos delivered! Our party of 7 totally enjoyed the Fish Tacos, and I loved the chicken tacos. Found this place during a self guided driving tour app of Oahu and it was an easy stop. Plenty of parking and easy to order here, as this is a food truck. Menu was displayed nicely and easy to read. Plenty of outdoor seating here. Next to a coffee stand and other food trucks, this spot made for an easy selection if you couldn't decide. Okay so people give this not great reviews but I think most are referring to the food truck. The actual store is so tasty. Not great: lemonade and prices Great: it was the only non fast food place open late, the staff were very nice , salsas and ranch dip, ability to sit inside with no one around. I recommend it. Oof! The fish tacos are NOT the best in Hawaii... as the sign states, more like the movie Elf and the world's best coffee. The fish is fresh, fresh like ripping open a pouch of Friskies. North Shore Tacos has a banner above its truck self proclaiming to be "Hawaii's best fish tacos". Unfortunately it does not deserve that title. The portion sizes are quite weak considering how expensive everything is; the tacos are very small, as are the sides of guac/salsa/sour cream. My mom said the fish in the fish tacos tasted like canned fish. She also said the beans and rice on the side were undercooked. I cannot say for certain that the shrimp in the quesadillas wasn't frozen. The quesadilla also had nothing in it besides one type of cheese and a few shrimp. Not sure why this place has such mixed reviews? It's in a great location on the North Shore, it's open after dark, the prices are right, and the prices are solid. Nothing screams Caucasians making Mexican food louder than a taco on flour tortillas. Second, they use lettuce instead of finely shredded cabbage. They have two locations where they sell out of. The first is the actual restaurant and the other one was is a truck across from sharks cove. Both convenient locations in the north side. This place is a great place to get Tacos! They have shrimp, fish, chicken, beef (I think). What I really enjoy about the fish tacos I had was the sauce. It really makes the tacos tasty. If you get the bowl, it comes with black beans and rice. There is also a choice of chips and salsa. The salsa they give is like pico de gallo and the ratio is not great compared with the amount of chips they give, so I would suggest possibly the rice and beans! I've been here a couple of times.
