I took the CNA course at PTC in December and successfully passed my test last month. The days are really long but they were very flexible with my schedule and the quick 16 day course was what had me sold!! Andrea is amazing! She takes care of everything you can think of. She was very helpful and informative since day 1. The Directors of the school are very nice and even made us a home cooked lunch during one of our theory days. I have visited the school and it was great to be a 4 week course but they are the most expensive school I have encounter for a CNA program with no financial aid. Only a Finance plan where you pay a high monthly amount a month til paid off. There are programs that are much cheaper and also give quality education as a CNA. When I was not working I could not afford the course even though it would have been great to get through it and finish. I was a CNA before so the course is not new to me but to pay that much out of pocket is alittle too much. read more

They lied about their DSD course and told me you had to have a clinical component to it or an employer would not hire me. I called the California Department of Public Health and reported them for their false claims and advertising. The price is a rip off. They are not knowledgeable about staying in compliance with state and federal regulations or about the exact information that is required in a DSD course. The subject matter listed on their website does not meet the CA Code of Regulations requirements. I do not recommend this course. read more

I'm a current student who is a few days away from completing my course and I've got no complaints against this school. I only have good things to say to the administration and instructors. My instructors Paula, Tracy, and Michelle all helped me and my classmates prepare for our state board exam, and the office staff Andrea and Juana are always there to answer all our questions. The directors Stephen and Julie are the kindest people you'll ever meet. I have nothing but respect for them, especially since they've always greeted me with a smile, and I have always been able to approach them and discuss my absences, questions, and future plans with them. The classes are fast-paced and you'll be doing your clinicals before you even know it.. And then you'll be sitting for your state boards. That's why it's still important for each student to be responsible and do their own reading, studying, and practicing in their own time. What I like about this school is that they'll give you everything you need to prepare you for your exam. The skills lab is complete with all of the equipment a CNA student needs, and the handouts, packets, and videos are all useful as well. Class sizes are small which makes it easier to practice skills during class, and makes the instructors more approachable. My exam is a week from now and although I am feeling nervous, I know that the school has done everything they can for me to be as prepared as I can be. I hope this review helps someone who is trying to decide which school to attend because I know choosing a school is a big decision which will cost a lot of money and will greatly influence where you go in the future. Classes are available everyday! Prices are average for recert & they have books on hand if you need them. I completed the courses by myself and at my own pace-- my kind of class. Up to date information and videos. The equipment for hands-on training and mach codes are a little outdated but manageable. And the best part? You walk out with certs in hand. The facility is small and a little cluttered but the staff were very nice! The receptionist was exceptionally helpful and polite, made me feel very comfortable. Would definitely recommend to my fellow nurses! (Especially travel nurses!) read more

I attended this school to become a CNA 9/2-10/28, but I ended up getting WAY more than I expected. I have never seen such a positive and meaningful learning experience like PTHC before. Our class had absolutely nothing in common with each other, ages ranging from 17-60 years old, all different backgrounds, all different religions, and race. We all worked together as a whole- it wasn't a competition between us, we helped each other and shared our experiences. Ms Julie was an amazing instructor, she showed how much she cared about her practice in her knowledgeable statements on how much the patients matter, how this isn't about us just passing the CNA exams; it's about us being great CNAs. Joe was our skills instructor, and when we were confused or stressed he was there to explain and demonstrate. Even on his daughters birthday, he was with us teaching us the skills we needed to prepare for clinics and the examination. By all of us working hard, pushing each other along and picking up those who fell behind. OUR ENTIRE CLASS PASSED BOTH WRITTEN AND CLINICAL STATE EXAMS. 100% passing rate ! I am so thankful for such dedicated staff, and for the family feeling between everyone. I would recommend this school is absolutely anyone, and I will be coming back for later certifications in healthcare. I'm truly blessed and could not be more grateful for having made so many friends and mentors here, without everyone's positive yet challenging outlook, I couldn't have made it without them. read more

I went here in June 2015 for my CNA certification. It was Monday through Thursday and it was just 4 weeks. Not too bad. The first week was all theory. I didn't find this the least bit useful. It was just us students taking turns to read from a book. This I thought we could do ourselves. I would prefer we got a chapter to read and discuss it the next day or get tested on it. Other than that, I have no complaints. Andrea is courteous and likable and so is Ms. Julie. The good thing about becoming a CNA was that it would come in handy for nursing school. I'm in my 4th (4/5) semester at an RN program. Being a CNA gave my application a little boost since my program uses the point system. Don't waste your time taking a CNA course at a community college. You're wasting four months of your life on something you can do in 4 weeks. Sure you'll be saving a penny here and there by taking it at a community college but think of this: You have 3 extra months to make money as opposed to using them up training at a community college. Do yourself a favor. It's quick and easy and my experience as a CNA helps me work better with patients during my clinical rotations. read more

Just finished July's course... I must say my instructor Michelle is amazing! She really makes the course much earlier to learn and more understanding. If you're going to take this program, make sure you ONLY have Ms. Michele as your instructor. I guarantee you, you're going to pass your state test on your first try! I gave this rating a three out of five cause Mouna (receptionist) that used to be there was amazing! She was warm welcoming and really kind when you first walked in! She made you feel like oh yea this was it! When I learnt that she was no longer as a employee, I was so sad to see her leave. When Mouna left, everything went downhill. The people who owns the school was disorganized and really disrespectful. No one took out the trash the night before (I was the am class, so when you first walk in the classroom, it smelt like last night food from pm class. Yuk!). Home appliances was out and dirty in the back. Paperwork wasn't really when they said it was ready (seriously?!?!). The owners would have their kids in the reception area and I kid you not! It was really hard to concentrate when their kids are running up and down the hallway screaming and laughing. I was really considering about taking other courses that they have offering. But Im taking my chance and take it else where. read more

It's a good school. When I first thought bout going here I was kinda sketched out & didn't think they were state certified however they are accredited. Went here to do my CNA, Joe was a great instructor fun, easy to work with, very helpful, and nice. The staff is kinda unorganized & all over the place sometimes however they work with you in the end. This is a much delayed review, but a friend and I came here on 8/16/2017 to get our CPR certification for a credential program that we are beginning on and we wish that we hadn't come here. The girl working the front desk was really nice, but the instructor that we had, Stephen Musee, acted SO unprofessionally. Yes, we received our lesson and did all of the hands-on work to learn how to give CPR, but this took way longer than necessary, due to the fact that Stephen had to keep leaving the room and putting us off to the side. Not only that, but at the end of the lesson, we were given surveys to fill out so that they can submit it to the American Heart Association, so my friend and I answered honestly to each question and left comments, rather than marking all 5's (which is the highest rating). Stephen read our answers and comments out loud in front/to us, which he shouldn't have done until we left, and mumbled comments under his breath and then proceeded to lecture us. Lecture us on mistakes that HE made? He then ASKED US TO CHANGE OUR ANSWERS AND COMMENTS. Seriously? How much more unprofessional can this get? We said no and that we wanted to keep our answers like that. As if things couldn't get any more unprofessional, he said "I almost don't want to give you your cards (the CPR certificate card) because of your surveys, but I am giving it to you anyway". We're pretty sure that they were going to change our answers on our surveys, as they were done in pencil. My friend and I left feeling so uncomfortable and I will never ever come back here, nor will I EVER recommend anyone to come here. Definitely reporting this to the American Heart Association for lack of professionalism and malpractice. read more

I went to PTC for a Basic Arrhythmia Certification Class. I had some hesitations about whether or not this was the right Basic Arrhythmia class that I needed to take for a new grad RN Telemetry position that I was applying for at the time. I also had some hesitations because of the cost. The 3-day certification class cost $440 (+ $40 for materials). Andrea was the first person I spoke to. She is the best! Andrea was very personable, she was able to answer all my questions and she was also very accommodating as far as scheduling was concerned. Steve is the person who teaches the EKG class. I asked him what his background was. (Background as a Respiratory Therapist). I was skeptical at first and I wanted to assess whether or not he was qualified enough to teach the class. Steve is definitely knowledgeable on the subject of Basic Arrhythmia's. He really does care and is passionate about teaching and making sure that you understand the material. The content for me was definitely intense and there was a lot of material to learn. Steve was patient and made sure that I understood the concepts and he made sure that I really had the material down. I learned so much and I am now more confident on the subject of EKG's. Overall I had a great experience at PTC. I would recommend this place to anyone who needs to take an EKG class. PROS - Andrea is great and she is so professional, knowledgeable and very helpful. Thank you Andrea! - Steve knows Basic Arrhythmia - If you are willing to put in the time and learn the material, it will be worth your time and money. Thank you Steve! - Scheduling is flexible - They will do their best to accommodate your schedule. CONS - Class lacked structure. I was staying later than my allotted time. Although I had a little flexibility with the time frame (3 hrs/session for 3 days) I would suggest reminding them that you have to leave by a certain time so they can stay on track with the lessons and cover the material for that day within a timely manner. - Walls were so thin and you can hear people talking, other classes being held, etc. It really made for a distracting learning environment. read more

If I could give them a negative rating, I would. Horrible experience! The materials used for the clinical are outdated and broken. Unorganized and unprofessional.... the teacher was good, but since my group was made up of 30 students, we barely advanced in lecture and didn't get to practice skills. I was lied to when I signed up for my classes about the location of the campus and the number of students in the class. Wouldn't recommend this so called school for anybody! The only reason I passed my state test and got a job was because of MY dedication to learn by watching YouTube videos and other literature rather than their outdated books. This business lacks communication skills and manners. Sadly this is a place where many nurses will come to, to seek help for IV cert and blood draw . I had spoke with the owner of this place over the phone previously before going I explained to him my concerns about needing to complete my iv cert in a certain amount of time and he refused to state the hours or amount of days over the phone, and He stated I can start the course to come in person instead, telling me not to worry about my time being met, that he can't talk about hours over the phone . I came in the morning of as planned the Owner of the place was weird from the start, I felt harassed. I stated " I believe I spoke with you over the phone in regards to today " he looked at me and my sister up and down and did a face expression that was uncomfortable to us and said " well if that's you, then I guess I do know you ". We proceeded to continue with the process, he then called Juliana over and asked her to put us in the class to begin . Not sure if she felt annoyed at the fact of how he was talking to us, but she refused to proceed with the class and stated we need to go home and study the material then schedule another day . At this point I am frustrated due to the TIME and GAS spent to come. They could have communicated this over the phone, but REFUSED to discuss hours on the phone. I am explaining my frustration to Julianna calmly and I let her know I will go with someone else and leave a bad review to save another person's time and money . She got frustrated and blocked the door and closed it and tried to convince me not to. As I'm starting to erase my name off the paper, she aggressively snatched the clip board away and stated I can't do that. Then my sister starts to try and rip a paperwork that had confidential information and the OWNER of this place aggressively snatched the paperwork out of my sister's hands hitting her hand. Julianna ends up grabbing the owner back telling him to calm down as she telling my sister " he did nothing wrong " . If this is a place where the owners treat their customers than this is not a place that should be open . This could have been escalated if Julianna did not block him from my sister since he was in her face yelling and clenching his hands. The cops were called and a report was made . This place is known for signing off after a 1 day course and this is the ONLY reason I trusted the owners words over the phone. This business should not be open. It's unprofessional, lacks communication and the OWNER disrespects women . SAVE YOUR TIME AND MONEY. read more

This place is what u make of it. This location is in a sketchy shopping center close to the freeway. It was a distance from my home but I was able to complete my CNA in 16 days of class / clinical time (Monday- Thursday) and sit for my boards right away as well. Best thing about this place is Miss T, the instructor. She is very seasoned, patient and knowledgeable. The worst thing is the equipment and the owners (while nice people) are unorganized and not the most honest. The equipment is pretty janky. There's one mannequin and one bed for 20 students to practice skills on. When it came time to learn how to take manual BP, we all got stethoscopes that were included in the price. The school only had two BP cuffs to use in the classroom!!!! I had to purchase and bring my own (as did some of my other classmates). They also charge everyone a different price based on what...I have no idea. I think I paid $2200 but others paid 1700. So make sure u ask how much ur paying and if there's different rates for students or adults (like me) that are starting a new career. We did our clinicals ar two sites. One was great and another was so horrible that state was in there at least 3 times in a month so we had to leave back to campus since we weren't allowed to be on the floor when state was there and "practice" skills (driving from riverside back to corona sucks especially with gas prices!). All in all, this place is ok if you are familiar with the terminology or have been a CNA before (like myself) and let your license expire so you have to take the class again. I wouldn't recommend it to someone who is not familiar with the medical field/ terminology at all. read more

I came to take my basic arrhythmia certification. I gave this business a 2/5 for the following reasons: Right when I first walked in, the owners and receptionist were nice and easy to talk to. They answered my answers completely and accurately. They made me feel welcome. They were also very helpful since i was so nervous with my basic arrhythmia test. They were able to work with my busy schedule and my rush-need to obtain my certification ASAP. The facility was clean and organized. HOWEVER when I walked in the first time, the owners had their child with them. Granted, she's about 5 years old and she was hanging out by the front door, but when the teacher (the child's father) was teaching me about his expectations in the class, she would walk in to talk to her dad. Yes, I know she doesn't know better and I'm not mad at her, it's her parents! The mom was watching her, but let's her talk to her dad while he was teaching me! The child would walk in the room while I'm trying to learn and her parents would just let her!!! They would have conversations in front of me!! It's just impossible to maintain a professional environment with your kid there. Given that I paid almost $500, I expect a lot more. It was also impossible to concentrate when their kid is yelling 'No mom, I said no tomatoes. No tomatoes. No tomatoes. Mom no tomatoes'. This facility is a learning facility and I just did not appreciate that. And to top it off, he would answer phone calls during the lecture!!!!! Super unprofessional and disrespectful to me. I did not pay my hard-earned $500 for this!!! On the second day, the teacher made a very inappropriate joke. He pulled out this machine that looked like an ECG but it's really just a simulation machine where you can choose different rhythms. Anyways, when he pulled it out, he was like 'ok you're gunna have to take off your clothes and connect this. Let's practice reading rhythms'. At first I was like 'huh? What do you mean?' And he insisted. The joke went for about a minute. I was SSSSOOOO uncomfortable!!!!!! Then on the third day, my appointment was at 8 am and they didn't come until 9 IN THE MORNING!!! Yes it's only one hour, but I pay for my babysitter per hour! I could've saved $15 and came an hour late!!!!! And still, they're taking phone calls and delaying my learning when they know that they're already late and time is very limited. I seriously felt like I was robbed an hour and a half of my education. Bottom line, with the amount of money I paid for my certification, I expected more from this facility. If you're looking for ANY certification or license courses fast, this is the place to go to. But otherwise, I would NOT recommend it to anyone. read more

Disorganized and sloppy half-hearted education. They toss you in a shabby white room with hard plastic chairs to watch videos and do listen to the instructor recite the book word for word for hours & hours. Our instructors were missing and leaving early every day. There were times we waited an hour just for someone to arrive. The CPR training was very inaccurate. People got certified without actually learning how to perform it correctly. They were pumping the chests quickly, elbows bent and all. It was a rushed process because they wanted to get it done before the last hour was up. The owners were constantly recording us when we hadn't even learned the skills; It was so uncomfortable. It is clear Pacific Times Healthcare College is just in it to win your money. No quality. read more

Took my ACLS certification here and I loved it! Staff are very friendly, attentive and knowledgeable. They have multiple classes going on at the same time, so it can get loud at times, but the environment overall is super laid-back and stress-free. If it were possible to give 0 stars, I seriously would but the redeeming factors of this place are a few people I've met in the course, a couple of the instructors, the receptionist, and the fact that they're accredited. Andrea is amazing at what she does. She's truly the glue that seems to hold this place together while Tracy and Jeanette are great instructors. If this place is your last resort of all health programs, definitely make sure you have one of these two people as your instructors. However, this place has some cons and a lot of serious ones at that. To start with, they have a certain instructor that works there who is rude, unprofessional, immature, and will harass you. She would either come late to clinicals or let us out a few hours into the clinical session because she was "tired" or had go to her "other job" to work at later in the day. She would also verbally degrade and bully a few students around. It even got to a point where she even created a facebook group page where we could reconnect and keep in touch with another in terms of job searching and networking. Sounds promising and helpful right? Wrong. The facebook group went from that to her badmouthing other students which allowed other students in the class to badmouth their peers. Once management found out she was letting her classes out early, she was surprisingly smart enough to remove any trace of evidence and deleted the page entirely before anyone can say anything. If people such as myself who are wanting to take this course seriously and have to pay out of pocket for this program then why do we have to deal with such a horrible and unprofessional instructor? Having her as an instructor made me want to drop the program altogether and demand a refund for such horrible service. Unfortunately, they lock you in this contract where a refund isn't possible so my advice to prospective students is to know who will be teaching the courses beforehand or go somewhere else to a higher-quality education program where they actually care about your education and not so money hungry as this institution. read more

I am loving this course, we are just finishing the theory portion of the class. We had orientation at the two facilities that host the school for clinicals. The instructor Michelle is absolutely amazing! She is super helpful and approaches the curriculum in a way that makes it very fun and enjoyable. Michelle really helps make the course and the clinicals less stressful allowing for a better learning environment, while still enforcing appropriate rules and precautions. I would recommend this school to anyone wanting to get a CNA and I would highly recommend taking the course from Michelle! read more

If I could I would give this place ZERO stars! Seriously don't even come here this place is a joke! It's the most unorganized place I've ever been to. Not to mention their so called "teacher" joe is one of the most pathetic individuals I've ever come to meet. We were never taught anything properly, he would start the skill and then we would never get around to rotating so many of us never even performed nor were taught certain skills. I will say if you're in a time crunch and you need to get your CNA license ASAP then I guess this would be the place to go but be aware you're going to basically be teaching yourself. I did pass my state boards exam but it was under my own merit I watched YouTube videos on how to perform the skills and did the practice test on Pearson. I came in two weeks ago to sign up for the EKG Tech 12 week program. They had me put the deposit down before I could even see my schedule or what the installments looked like. After going through some of the paperwork and talking with instructor he kept asking me why I wanted the 12 week program when I could do a 6 week even though I explained I was going to be a Full Time employee at the hospital I work at soon and wouldn't have the time to do two classes a week. Then he asked me when I wanted to start and I said either the first or second week of September would work for me. And he again questioned why I couldn't start the following week instead. Why ask when I wanted to start if you're just going to tell me to start on a closer day. After that I was unimpresse. They offered me 12 weeks to accommodate me now they said they couldn't. The also said the installments would be $700 and there can only be three payments when the form has 6 slots for lower but more payments which works for how often I'm paid and how much. I asked for refund on the spot and hadn't signed anything. I didn't want to do the program if they weren't going to go through with what they initially offered. Two weeks have passed with endless calls to the office on my part to get them to give me back my money for a service I'm not getting. I'm still calling and they still have excuses of when they can get around to refunding me the money when I asked for it the day I was there. Not to mention them avoiding my calls so I had to use several other phones so they would pick up! Now I'm just waiting on my bank to dispute it or them to be honest and do what's right. Just be careful, luckily I was smart and took pictures of the unsigned documents and called my bank the day I was there. read more
