Dont come here if it's your 21st birthday. This ruined my first ever liquor store experience. I went in, browsed because it's my first time ever, got to the cash register and was so excited to hand him my I.D. When I did, he said because its the same day he doesn't know if he can take it. I was a little confused and thought maybe they thought it was suspicious. No, when his higher up came out he told me "I cannot purchase today because it's the same day" and i said "I seriously can't get myself stuff for my 21st birthday...?" To which he responded "No, you cant. Do you understand?" in a very condescending manner. I said "Yes! I understand" took my I.D. and left. They told me I can come back tomorrow, yea right! I worked the whole entire day and wanted to celebrate. As i was leaving i told him maybe he should try to not be rude to customers. No where in the law does it say I can't purchase liquor on my birthday, this is ridiculous. read more

Beware if you have the R.E.A.L. ID (new driver's license with citizenship certification) because they won't accept it! I've been coming in about once a month to get a bottle of wine for the past couple of years and haven't had an issue, but today was very different. I look young so I wasn't surprised when the young cashier asked to check my ID (they're generally inconsistent with checking IDs but I'm still in my 20s so I get it and don't put up a fuss when it happens). Their machine apparently doesn't read the new indentations with your initials and year of birth on your license photo and they claimed that it was a fake ID and tried to seize it. I had to argue with them to keep my valid and legal ID (ie. NOT a fake) so I could have my license on me to drive home. They insisted that it was fake and were very rude about it even though it was clearly a legal ID (one of the cashiers scratched at it, bent it, and checked all the certification points like presence of signature, etc and asked me my DOB). I've since confirmed with my local police department and the RMV that there's nothing wrong with my ID. If you also have a REAL ID instead of the standard MA license, take your business elsewhere where they actually have working equipment and competent employees. Otherwise prepare to be accused of a crime and have to argue to keep your personal property (ie. your valid/legal license)! read more

Conveniently located near a large Stop and Shop, right at exit 36 off I-95 with ample parking, this mid-size liquor store will probably have something you can drink. The wine selection is relatively small. There are the usual suspects: Chateau Ste. Michelle, Kendall-Jackson, Oyster Bay and similar wines that you see everywhere. A handful of Tuscans, a handful of German Reisling and Gewurztraminers, and that's about it. There's hardly anything from Spain or France, even South America is not that well represented. Things look up in the domestic beer section, with a decent selection of popular and craft breweries represented: I've seen Pretty Things, Brooklyn, Shock Top, Smutty Nose, Ipswitch, Allagash, Crispin and other ciders, and organic beer, in addition to the usual popular Anheuser-Busch-Miller and major foreign brands. There's a decent selection of whiskeys (Scotch and Kentucky) and vodkas. And they carry Moet and Veuve Clicquot (at least during the holidays) if you're shopping for a special occasion. They don't have a huge selection of gourmet mixers, but they are trying to keep up with the fashion for exploring more exotic items by stocking things like St. Germain and moonshine. Called the store to find out the time they were closing for the evening. They were open for another half hour so that worked out perfectly. I came in at 1030pm on a Wednesday evening. The two gentlemen behind the counter acknowledged our entrance with their eyes but said nothing. No big deal. Maybe they're quiet people. Grabbed a twelve pack and came to the counter. They asked us both for our ID'S. Not a problem. I show them my ID as I'm now a California resident. I had to move from Boston to California for work but was back visiting family and working remotely. He immediately became hostile and stated that they cannot accept out of state ID'S and the manager isn't there to verify. Had I known this, I wouldn't have made the trip. Reading the reviews here, this seems to be a trend. The funny thing is, they both looked old as hell and they're not the owners or managers. Made me feel a little bit better about myself as I'm 38 and probably vastly further ahead in life than either of them. Oh yes, I'm 38 and they still refused. My friend had his US passport with him and they still refused. I think this business is up for an investigation with the BBB. I'd highly recommend you not utilize this business. As a long-time Massachusetts resident, these guys are the purest of townies. Stay in the city and don't bother with Woburn. It's not worth your time nor money. I hope this review helps others. As I reached for my credit card, I noticed that my bottle of wine labeled $17.99 had rung up as $19.99. The clerk checked other bottles and found the same thing, but asked me to wait for the manager. The manager arrived a few minutes later and the clerk told me to pay 19.99 as "the computer is always right," at which point I laughed and left. And went to D&L née Dion Liquors on Main St in the center. Kind of makes you wonder how many of their price tags are wrong and how many people don't notice. read more

Under new management? Personally, I preferred the old management. The prices for beer seem higher now. Recently made a purchase there ,and the cashier seemed rather hostile. Did not say '' thank-you'',either. The old management always supported the Woburn St.Anthony's Festival with a donation of wine. The new management refuses. I will be shopping elswhere. read more

Terrible customer service.. I have gone a couple of times to see if this would change since it's in a great location and nothing has changed. Once I was in the middle of asking a question and the cashier paid no attention and cut me off asking me for an ID. I clearly told them I am never going there again and spreading the word.. don't want to pull "the race card" or "woman card" I look really young but I am in my late 30's but there was about 3 people in the store and the person was clearly just rude to me literally every time I went there.. who knows?! read more

Guy behind the counter was rude to me and everyone else who came in the store. I have an out of state ID, and he immediately became rather hostile. My ID is two years old and doesn't have the newer security features. The owner accused me of having a fake ID and very, very rudely told me to get out. If he couldn't read the ID, so be it. But the repetitive disrespect was uncalled for. I am a 22 year old grad student. Don't waste your time, go elsewhere. read more

Terrible customer service, I myself am 18 but my boyfriend is 21. He wanted to buy a stock of four lokos so we stopped by on our way through the area and the only reason I came in was because he wouldn't be able to carry that many himself. Walk up to the counter and we're both asked for ID and then refused because I'm not 21. It's called the fucking law, he is 21 and can legally buy alcohol, I wasn't buying them or having any part in the sale he was using his own credit card. Awful customer service, never had this problem elsewhere and I suggest you look up normal drinking laws before you refuse someone that is 21. Never going here again. UPDATE: went to another woburn liquor store 5 min up the street, had no problems and left satisfied. read more

If it wasn't for the fact the this store is managed by a rude/curt manager, my overall view of this store would be more positive and I would enjoy shopping at this location a lot more since the prices are pretty reasonable and the location is very convenient for me. The manager of this store is unpleasant and disrespectful. Every single of my experiences interacting with him have been negative and unhelpful overall. I have gone into the store and also called and have received bad service from this man. On the other hand, the rest of his staff seems to be pleasant and helpful. It's a shame that the manager of this store is not as kind and courteous as his employees are. read more

This store is in the same plaza as Stop & Shop. They are a bit higher in price than some other stores on some things, but often have good specials. The wine selection is pretty good too. They have some wine sale bins that are very inexpensive, and I've been able to try some good wines for a cheap price. Great way to try new ones w/ out breaking the bank. read more
