Wine Country is one of those small shops that quietly does everything right. The store is clean,…read morewell-organized, and easy to pop in and out of without feeling overwhelmed or ignored. Prices are fair, selection is solid, and the staff is genuinely excellent--friendly, helpful, and actually paying attention, which feels rarer than it should. It's not a massive warehouse of alcohol, but it doesn't need to be. There's a good mix of domestic, local, and imported beers, plenty of wines, and some hard liquor as well. Enough variety to keep most people happy no matter what they're into. I personally don't drink wine--I usually stop in for Sam Adams--but if I did, I'm confident I'd walk out with something I liked. Mostly because the staff would probably point me in the right direction without making it weird. Reliable, pleasant, and well run. A great neighborhood spot.

What a great wine shop!…read more Wine Country has an enormous selection of wines from all over the world. The place is very clean and cozy. I came in on a Saturday and was delighted to find that they had a wine tasting going on. Apparently they have these every saturday from 4:00-7:00 pm. There were three wines available to sample and the staff was very knowledgable. I ended up tasting a new wine that I had never tried before which was excellent and went great with the meal I had planned for the evening. They have a huge selection of reasonably priced wines. I also got to meet the owner of the store Steve. He was very friendly and inviting and we ended up talking about the wine store and another passion of his, cycling! He mentioned that it was a family run business and I could tell: he really cares for his customers. The store also has a huge selection of spirits and beers. I highly recommend stopping by for all your wine and liquor needs.

Liquor Junction is what happens when someone says "let's carry everything" and no one ever says…read morestop. The selection is absurd in the best and worst ways--endless beer, wine, spirits, and bottles that look like they were created during a dare. If you can't find what you need here, you're either too edgy for your own good or shopping for a personality. The downside is navigating it. This place feels less like a store and more like a maze designed to test your commitment. I've gone in for one specific item and emerged 20 minutes later, slightly overstimulated, clutching something I don't remember choosing. Four stars instead of five because I've been asking for Bud Light Clamato for over a year. Over. A. Year. You carry the most obscure liquids known to mankind, yet that's where we draw the line. To be fair, the staff is friendly, helpful, and somehow calm in the middle of the chaos. Prices are reasonable, and once you accept that you're not leaving quickly, it's a solid spot. Just pace yourself.

I've been going pretty regularly to this store for a long time, and have noticed some real changes,…read moreand not for the better, I"m sorry to say. I used to enjoy shopping there and especially getting expert help with wine picks for whatever meal I was planning. The wine guy, Mark is no longer there, and things are not the same, for that reason and for other reasons also. The prices are still good but the experience is not. Liquor Junction used to be a gem for us in Winchester, and now I think I'll be going there less often.
