I went to the Beverly location because it was convenient for me as i worked full time for another company in the same building, clearly i was wrong. i developed a rash it was getting worse as time went on Dr Shane Oneil told me he couldn't find anything wrong and i should probably have my house checked for bed bugs or had scabies. WTF Really. I felt really sick a few days later went to ER and they discovered i had CANCER. Hodgkins Lyohoma to be exact. Bottom Line is I wasted a YR and Half with Mr. Oneil. The receptionist in the first window is super rude, maybe I'm not a fave she recognized, but no hi , no acknowledge just points to a sign ( which I didn't even have a second to actually read multiple signs on this pole) but then she is rudely waving me to the next window, but then I noticed right after I go to the next window, the handyman comes walking in and he gets full on smile giggle laugh wave, and she turns into a whole new person this lady had no customer service extremely rude Loved the PA. I saw there today. Horrible Experience. NEDA Beverly has lack luster customer service and zero endearment to patients. I was not aware that they "don't have time to call patients" when appointments are cancelled. I learned this the hard way when I arrived for an appointment yesterday, July 23. I drove 40 minutes for my appt and to find out that they cancelled my appt. by a single text to me three weeks ago. I explained I never saw the text and asked why they didn't either call me to reschedule or send me another text especially after I didn't respond ?? They said "we don't have time to call patients". I asked "normally an office will call to reschedule"...why didn't anyone reach out??" They basically just shrugged their shoulders....didn't care, didn't value my time, didn't have anything to say to me when I gave my feedback. I was a patient there a few years ago, and, I remember trying to reach the office for questions regarding my treatment, and it was a frustrating experience to get someone on the phone. Thought I'd give them another try, and it's clear to me now the place will never change or hire healthcare professionals that actually take the time to care about and call their patients! read more

I was pleasantly surprised at what a great experience I had. I was made to feel comfortable and welcome from the moment I walked in the door. The woman at reception was extremely pleasant. I only waited a couple of minutes before someone came out to get me. The physician assistants were both extremely nice and pleasant. Dr. Badri was exceptional. I had been a little nervous, going to this location because I had read some bad reviews. However, I did some Internet research on Dr. Badri and was very impressed by his stellar background and the fine schools that he attended. He didn't disappoint. He explained in detail everything he was doing and was very cordial and personable in the process. I would recommend this location and this doctor to anyone. The facility itself was extremely clean, and every attention to maintaining a clean and sterile environment were observed by me. read more

This is not only the worst dermatologist office I have ever been to -- it is the worst medical office I have ever been to! They NEVER return phone calls! You can call with specific questions and leave messages, and NO ONE returns your calls. I have never had this happen before when I've called a doctors' office. Go Somewhere else, the front office does not have a clue, my daughters doctor retires, my daughter is almost out of her Rx that they admit that she shouldn't come off cold and they say "If you book with the new doctor they MIGHT refill the Rx that she shouldn't be coming off. Nurses are rude and have no idea what the doctors order. Even when Owen was there he said something would leave and the nurses came in and said something completely different causing us to have to wait for the doctor to comeback and say exactly what my daughter (15 years old) told them and we just wasted 20-30 every visit. I call about her coming off cold they agree that Dr Reynolds said to keep the treatment plan and she shouldn't come off the plan. Then continue to say she cant be seen for over 2 weeks and the new doctor MIGHT fill it in the mean time. I say "She MIGHT fill it ? my daughter shouldn't not come off cold. I need it refilled not MIGHT refilled" That is EXACTLY word for word what I said and the rude and useless nurse on the phone says I am arguing with her which I was not and she was uncomfortable. I said I am not arguing everything I said she agreed with and yet the truth makes her uncomfortable. GO ELSE WHERE, Dr Reynolds was excellent which is why I would deal with the office, but he is retired now and you can see clearly how things are going. read more

I have been a patient here for three years and have decided to not go back. On my most recent visit I noticed that with each passing year there is less comments about my skin, what is going on etc. It is very brief visit does not feel as thorough as it should be. I had a biospsy taken and no one called to give me the results. I called today, just short of the promised two weeks and spoke to someone who said I need another appointment. In addition NEDA put through my co-pay check twice and they are not returning the overpayment to me in a timely manner despite my providing proof of this multiple times. Dr. Marchione is the best! I show him a spot on my foot, he looks and immediately puts a diagnosis on it, and explains it. Then I simply describe another problem I am having, and again, he immediately knows what I am talking about, diagnoses the issue and explains it. I have been to other dermatologists who were not able to properly diagnose the latter, Marchione did it in a snap! Definitely knows his stuff! I went to NE Derm for a skin check. The dr just kind of peeked around under the paper cover up. It did not feel thorough at all. The Dr noticed a wart on my hand and said she could take care of it with liquid nitrogen. I agreed, big mistake. I received a bill for $446.00! I called to ask if liquid nitrogen costs about $2 a liter how could a few drops cost $446? They responded that what the charge is and they would be happy to put me on a payment plan. There was no explanation of how/why it cost that much. If you decide to go to this practice make sure you get all pricing up front. read more

I had an appointment at Northeast Dermatology in early August of 2022. I received a bill in the mail a couple of weeks later which I paid promptly. Today 01/25/2023 I received another bill in the mail for $369 for that same appointment month and months ago. This is absolutely outrageous. I have been told this bill is for the lab test, which was out of the network from my insurance (Tufts - a good plan) I was told I was within Network when I scheduled the appointment, or I would have gone elsewhere. This is bad business, not only am I extremely frustrated at the bill but seeing this so long after the appointment itself adds insult to injury. Got a prescription medication that is not covered by Bluecross. The pharmacy tried reaching this office and I have tried reaching this office to get an alternate prescription. The only response I have gotten so far is that 'someone will call you back'. This was not the same service when you are a new patient. Once you are in their system, your experience will be very poor. Terrible practice. Staff is rude and dismissive as is Dr. Marchione. I've given him several chances, but never again. Latest appointment was yesterday and he was an hour late. The front desk staff was very rude and dismissive to the point that other patients waiting made that exact comment about them. When finally taken into the exam room, he rushed in before the tech even left, then barged back in before i was even changed. I got the usual bums rush and then pushed my leg aside on the table pull out to wash it with alcohol because something was stuck on it, obviously from another patient. I was disgusted! Horrible experience here. Northeast Dermatology is a massive conglomerate, and you will be treated like a number and not a person. Speaking to anyone besides an operator is nearly impossible and your concerns will not be heard unless you are presently in the doctor's office. If you are looking for a drive thru experience, where any questions or concerns you have are answered briefly and curtly, with no further discussion, and your 'full body exam' is done by lifting the gown and looking under it as opposed to actually LOOKING at your body, and you are in and out in 10 minutes, and told to come back in a year (right!!), then this is the place you want to go! I would suggest seeing a real doctor as opposed to a PA-they may know how to properly examine your body and may take the time to address your concerns. Go somewhere else!!! read more

Not at all happy with Dr. Marchione's service. We were very pleased with the lady at the check-in desk. She was extremely helpful and patient with us. Going in for our appointment, we were initially guided by a nurse who was kind and helpful in preparing us for the doctor. I was not aware however, that she would be present during the doctor's visit. A forewarning of that would have been helpful, as I have some private dermatological concerns to discuss with the doctor, but was shy and unable to make any requests once she was already in the room during the doctor's consultation. With dermatology having a potential for private concerns by patients, it would be helpful to alert the patient before hand of the presence of another person in the room, and ask in the check-in form if they are comfortable with it being someone of the opposite gender. This is of course not the nurse's fault, but I hope the management will take this request into consideration to help other patients. Initially Dr. Marchione was helpful in addressing the problem of an itchy scalp and acne that I had. We were able to address the concern and he prescribed a solution, but after that he seemed to be in a hurry to leave as soon as he could. When I raised another concern, he obliged and was able to discuss it. But when I wanted to bring up the third concern (which was a sensitive issue), he was on his way out. Having spent the money and time that we did at a professional service like NEDA, we would have appreciated better customer service. It is good when the doctor stays there patiently with you in the moment, and creates a space for the patient to share concerns. A piece of feedback we can offer is for the doctor to ask at the end, "Do you have any other questions?" or "Is there anything else for today?" On the whole, we left the office feeling unsatisfied that we spent the time and money that we did, and yet felt rushed in time with the doctor, leaving us unable to address all the concerns that we came in for. read more

I had been here for a dermatology consultation long ago. I booked an appointment over the phone which sounded like a normal consultation to me. So when I walked in there, I was surprised the lady at the counter charge me $65 bucks for the consultation. I said I was never even intimated of the charge on the phone when I booked the appointment. Their website doesn't mention anything like it. I drove 15 miles away from my house and they were telling me either I have to pay or leave without the appointment. This in itself was something that did not make me trust in them. So, when they said I could use the 65 bucks towards the other appointment, I thought it best to let go of the money but make sure other people are aware of these hidden policies. Oh and yes, this despite me having insurance. They said my insurance will not cover this charge. read more

While Dr. Holly Mason is one of the best providers I have ever worked for, I have to recommend that NO ONE do business with Northeast Dermatology Associates ever. This heartless company expects the moon from its employees, and offers nothing -no guidance, no support, not even the courtesy of responding to an email- in return. The office I worked in had to supply OUR OWN EXAM GLOVES because we were not able to get anyone in management to help us during Corona lockdown. They are not safe, and do not adhere to basic sanitization protocols. In particular, the older man in Marblehead. I have actually witnessed this man perform surgery without gloves on. And that is just the tip of the iceberg. When I brought my concerns to my office manager, I was moved to another office, and he is still doing business as usual. Patients actually refer to him as "The Butcher of Marblehead ". Many of them, and all separately. DO NOT work for this company. They WILL lie to your face about your job responsibilities, what is actually expected of you, and just how much work you will be expected to do for NOT MUCH MONEY at all. You have been warned, don't work for NEDA if you have any self-esteem at all. This company is TERRIBLE and does NOT care about employees at all. Only their bottom line. read more

My husband is a patient at northeast dermatology, he's a nice guy and would never write a review. I, on the other hand, will. My husband made an appointment to find out why he was having trouble with his hands. He has had several appointments and spend hundreds on co payments and gotten no where. And when we call for his chart and dr notes for his job, we get nothing. My husband can't return to work until the dr sends all necessary paperwork to his job and for months nothing. What kind of dr office is this? You only get a call center and messages get lost and answers are not given. My husband needs to work and this office just doesn't care. My husband may loose his job if this office doesn't respond and do their job!!! I only gave 1 star because I had too. This office is not professional and a joke. As a follow up my husband made an appointment to get paperwork signed to be released from light duty, northeast dermatology had no idea why he was in the office, had no record of any paperwork sent in though it was confirmed three times days before the appointment. This office has no idea what they are even doing. It's ridiculous and scary. A doctor's office with no clue could lead to mis diagnosis and serious problems. read more

I was caught in traffic and, even though I have been here before, I accidentally got turned around when exiting 128 and had to do major turning around. I tried to call the office to alert them that I would be late and was put on hold for 25 minutes!! When I finally arrived, the desk told me, "Oh. We have a call center and have no control over those things. You may call corporate if you want." And she gave me the number. I will be calling corporate. Trust me. What doctors' office relegates patient calls to a call center??? Debra Litke, NP is excellent. I will continue to go to her, but frankly, a doctors' office that pushes telephone calls to a call center is not a place that is patient centered. Of note, the first time that I went to this office, I saw one of the docs (who shall remain nameless). He came in and did a full body examination on me accompanied by a student and never asked my permission to have the student present. Not one word. He was also far more interested in his teaching moment than he was in me as the patient. I asked to never, ever see him again. Unless you have an appointment with Debra Litke, run, run, RUN PS. I have been Dr. Marchiones patient for a few years during which I received satisfactory care although I experienced significant bleeding after a procedure on my arm. A week before Thanksgiving Dr. Marchione removed a squamous carcinoma from my lower left leg. I am on warfarin and while my dentist makes me stop the drug prior to procedures, Dr. Marchione has a more casual approach and has never told me to stop. Subsequent to his very fast excision and suturing, ( at least 13 sutures ), he was out of the room in about 8 minutes leaving me with a 3 inch wound. I returned the following Monday and saw Deb Litke who documented my swollen and infected leg, with a huge hemotoma that blackened my leg from my knee down to my foot. She photographed the wound, put me on Keflex, and called in Dr. Greenstein. Greenstein comes in from the hallway and puts his ungloved and unwashed hands on my wound. The next day (Tuesday) Marchione had me return, took one look at it and sent me to the Beverly ER. He too called in Greenstein who once again, did not glove or wash before he touched me. Marchiones last words to me were that there would be no charge for that days visit. Really!!!! I was admitted to the hospital due to their concern over the infection and compartment syndrome, and spent three nights, including missing Thanksgiving with my family, getting IV Unasyn and Vancomycin. My wound was reopened to allow it to drain and it has been open, oozing,and painful ever since. I had home health nurses every day to care for it and will receive a wound vac next week to try and hasten healing. I have worked in healthcare for 27 years as the manager of surgical education and training for Carl Zeiss Surgical, a manufacturer of surgical microscopes. I have seen thousands of surgeries and am well versed in Universal Precautions. The approach to hand washing at NEDA is casual at best. I asked a couple of the nurses why they always glove up but the doctors don't and was answered with eye rolls. My opinion based on my observations and experience at NEDA is: 1. Your doctors rush. Nothing good comes from hasty surgery other than more money for the practice. 2. Warfarin patients should be more carefully considered with proper hemostasis a must before wound closure. 3. Hand washing and gloves are not a suggestion. Dr. Greenstein has especially bad habits in this regard. I will not return to NEDA and will counsel anyone that asks me about my experience to find another provider. As the new practice manager you need to tighten up a sloppy ship before someone is more seriously injured. This office is actually on Conant Street in Beverly. Not sure if they moved recently. I recently switched to Dr. Robb Marchione after being disappointed with my previous care in another office. I could not have been more pleased. The office was clean, welcoming and comfortable. I was greated by the reception staff and was seen very much on time. Dr. Marchione took time to explain everything to me in a very thorough, yet easy to understand manner. He gave me great confidence in him and explained my options so that I could make an informed decision. This place reminds me of how medical care should be. I felt well cared for and respected as the patient, a big difference from my last experience at another setting. I would highly recommend this practice and particularly Dr. Marchione. read more

Their doctor, Dr. Steven Smith, did not show up for my scheduled skin cancer surgery on Nov. 18 even though I had reconfirmed with this office on Thursday, Nov. 14 and had sent all my referrals there by Friday, Nov. 15th. I was told I could drive to Newbury and wait there till until he could see me. Um, no thanks. One staffer told me "it was a computer glitch" another told me "Dr. Smith cancelled his appointments there a while ago". So Word to Dr. Steven Smith... your systems don't work, your staffers don't have their stories straight and they make you look bad. Get a new plan. It is a big deal to have a skin cancer surgery scheduled, take a day off work, and to just mess it up like that is not cool at all. If the patient had no-showed for the appointment, we would be charged a no-show fee as per their message, the same should be true of the doctor not showing up. I am outta that practice. read more

Buyer Beware! Dr. Greenstein is competent. However the business practices of neda, based on my experience with them are highly suspicious. I have an excellent ppo insurance. Here is what happened. When I checked in they took all my insurance info. I saw the doctor (10 minutes) and then they route you to a check out counter. My face was stinging badly so I was a little off my game and when the woman told me to give her my credit card I didn't ask why and handed it over. About 3 weeks later I received the summary of benefits from my insurance company which details what they paid for my visit. And it was the full amount. I recalled that I gave them my credit card and checked my statement and they had bilmed me for the full amount on the credit card as well. So they double billed me. An honest mistake perhaps? I called the business office and the girl said "oh, gee how did that happen. We will take it off your card." (it seemed too easy, like she sees this all the time). Two weeks later the charge is still on my card. I call again. And another girl says "oh no problem, I can take it off your card as we speak". "Wait I ask , how come the other girl could not do that? "We just got the ability to do it today" she said. Two weeks go by it is STILL on my card. I call a third time and another girl, who seems very nervous states she is taking it off the card right now. I asked her why was my card ever billed to begin with? She said "in case your insurance didn't go through we put a hold on the card". No other medical office does that and neither should they. Also neda had already confirmed my insurance benefits at the time of visit. Charging my card was unnecessary and inappropriate. So, on this third attempt the charge did come off my card. This is not standard or good business practice. They did not put a "hold" on the card - they billed it. And after two and a half months they had not removed the charge themselves or even after my two requests. Indications are they fully intended to keep that money. How many patients has this been done to that never caught this? Buyer beware! read more

This office is absolutely the worst office to deal with. Every time I call them to ask for a prescription refill or to have them fax in orders for blood work or to refill a prescription by mail, it never gets done. And then they have a million excuses for why it didn't get done! I have to keep making multiple calls to the office, and the people that answer the phone are also not very friendly. No one responds to email messages or phone calls either. Dr. Marchione is a very nice doctor, but unfortunately his staff is really awful and unorganized. I had been looking for a good dermatologist and found Dr. Robb Marchione at Northeast Dermatology. I made my appt. at the Newburyport office where he practices on Thursdays and was pleased from the first moment I walked in. His front office personnel are very pleasant and helpful, whether in person or on the phone. Upon meeting him I was impressed with his people personality and his obvious intelligence and expertise in his field. He was very easy to talk with and ask questions, and he took the time to answer thoroughly and thoughtfully. He obviously enjoys his profession and has an easy rapport with his staff and the patients. You never got the feeling that your concerns were not important . Each time I have come back for another appt., I am always treated in a friendly manner by everyone there, and feel very well taken care of. I trust his skills and judgement and am so glad to have found such a great dermatologist. I don't know about any of the other doctors in this group, but Dr. Marchione is a wonderful doctor! read more
