My kitchen cabinets were places oddly by the previous owner, with no room for any error, so I was asking from the start if it was an issue and was assured that there wasn't. The shop uses cutting-edge tools, pun intended, and weeks after the installation I still marvel at the precision of measurements and cuts. The sizing was precise to all the intricacies of my space. The pieces of stone that connected were sealed tightly, and the seam is hardly visible. The patterns on the mitered seam were done very nicely. The sink was installed together with the countertops, and it was mounted very securely. I'm very happy with the outcome.

Then, if you change your mind about what you do or don't want, or want to cancel, they've already had you sign an estimate and give a deposit (which is required immediately) and consider it a contract. Since they've already cashed your deposit, they keep a large portion of the deposit for themselves. (In our case it was $1,000. down, and they kept $300.00. which they said was for their time.) Again, we think they could've kept $200.00 for their time, but we were the ones who constantly had to jump around to accommodate them and THEIR time...we are busy people too...their penalty seemed excessive, especially since we canceled within the allotted time frame. Also, even though they claim their prices are competitive with other places, they actually are more expensive. Buyer beware: You will be given a verbal quote regarding a total cost of installation. However, when it comes down to it, different items have a installation cost worked into the prices, while others do not. So your actual contracts will be confusing and not actually have all of the costs up front. Sure, they have some mumbo-jumbo on labor for the cabinets, but it's still up in the air, and your total costs will more than likely jump up. The items that supposedly had the install/labor price worked in, is not broken down, so you really don't know how much you are paying for the items, and how much of that is for labor/install. I guess if money is no object, or you don't mind being taken advantage of, this process will work for you...it didn't for us.

And the work itself was all drop-dead gorgeous: perfect fits in our very imperfect, uneven old house, with precise lines, a solid feeling of quality, and beautiful finishes and woodgrain matches. Ernie's stated priority is to deliver a product that truly works for his clients and the way they live, and that's exactly what he did for us.
