She said that only Dakota Taxi runs in the winter. There's only one taxi running on weekdays. But they do pick up the phone, and they are pretty dead on with their pick up estimations. I called for a lift from the Tin Lizzie to Terry Peak, and Lloyd told me that he was in the middle of a couple rides but would be there to pick me up in about 30 minutes, and he was there in exactly 30 minutes. Be prepared to share the ride if someone is going in the same direction or is along the way. In a one taxi town, that's reasonable. Thankfully, everyone seemed friendly enough. Lloyd (the daytime weekday driver winters Monday through Wednesday) was a hoot! He is a long-time area resident and is full of fantastic yarns, area history, and travel advice. He got us up the icy road and back safely and kept us entertained the whole time.

Update, I've called 3 times on the status of my refund. I was told the first time, "no problem"…read moreand was informed that I would receive a text message with confirmation that my refund was being processed. The second time I called, I was told that that they wanted to process my refund through a money gram (or order, I can't remember) and that they would need my address. I told them that I wasn't comfortable giving out my address and was hoping that there was another way to process the refund electronically (since I transacted the service through square). The person I spoke with said (begrudgingly), "okay, let me talk to my supervisor and I will give you a call back within 24 hours". I was curious about Square's refund process, so I called them and confirmed that the business can absolutely process electronic refunds via the square app as long as it's done within the first 120 days - the business would even get a refund on their transaction fee if they did it this way (a true win-win). 48 hours later, I had not received a call... so once again, I called. I spoke to the same woman (I believe) that I spoke to the first time. She seemed shocked that I hadn't received the refund yet and told me that she would reach out to her supervisor to get in contact with me and hopefully solve the issue today. I thanked her for her help and communicated my frustration about being tossed around and not getting any formal assistance with my request. She then went on to say that she is just the receptionist and has no control over my request being fulfilled. She assured me once again that she would give my name and phone number to her supervisor so that he/she could call me back.
