The platter seemed to be smaller than before but I can't be sure. What I do know is that we didn't have enough soy sauce packets, wasabi, dipping containers, and miso soup to go around. They only gave wasabi on one platter, maybe thinking it was enough...if a large platter serves 4-7 and I ordered two large platters, one large sashimi and one XL sushi platter, then I should've at least be given 14 dipping containers along with 14 soups, I was given maybe 7 soups and 10 containers. People had to share soy sauce containers!! Not everyone got a soup which is not the worse thing in the world since the soup is complementary but not having enough wasabi is a sin. I will say something about this if I ever order from them again. (The hot sauce they give on the side is still delicious)
Fresh fish, great take out service. I would recommend calling and placing the order early because they do have lots of orders coming in. I love the attention to detail, providing the bagged ice to keeping the food fresh. Great value for the price. Definitely will be coming back for some more take out
he sushi here was incredibly fresh and flavorful. I ordered a few rolls and each one had a good balance of rice and filling. The fish melted in my mouth. The presentation was beautiful and made it even more enjoyable. Staff was kind and the vibe was calm and quiet. Would totally come back for a sushi night.
I will drive from Manhattan through an hour traffic just to pick up sushi here and that says A LOT. Always call in advance to place your order and specify a time as they will prepare sushi closer to pick up time to ensure it stays fresh. They are cash only and the staffs are super friendly. One of them even held the door for me when my hand were full from the huge platter of sashimi. Highly recommend for any party or if you're simply just craving fresh sashimi.
Sushi & Sashimi If you in the Queens area and looking for take out sushi, then this is the spot! The fish here is always so fresh and the best quality. There is nothing to complain about the quality of the fish. However as years have gone by they've stopped putting the cucumber with their take out orders which was something that was a little upsetting. However, I recommend this place to someone as well and they've loved this place. One of the great things is that on their sushi the tails are long on the pieces! - This is ONLY a take-out place even before COVID this was only for take-outs only -Ask and they will give you miso soup -Red pepper paste and soy sauce is included~
Legit sashimi/sushi spot- amazing deal with the different platters! Perfect for large gatherings. Sashimi and rolls were pretty fresh!!! They gave a bag of ice to put over the platter to keep it cold. The medium platter of sashimi/sushi was a great snack for 6-7 people (might get the large platter next time). Medium platter was abt $60. I really enjoyed the selection in the platter and would def come back, great quality!
Little shop specializing in sushi, sashimi, and rolls. Not much, if any hot food. You get very generous portions and very good, if not excellent, quality. You know they have good food when you call on weekends and holidays and they make you pick up at odd/off hours because the regular lunch and dinner hours are all packed. And there are times I call and I'm turned away because they just can't make their food fast enough for that day. Too packed with orders. Great place. We love it. Too bad I can't get their food for Father's Day. I called a day early, thinking I'd have to pick up super early. But I was told "we are full." Wow! Good for them :) Some poor sushi joint will have to settle for me picking them as a second choice. lol

Food - 5/5 Solid Korean spot for takeout sushi/sashimi platters. Got the small combo of sushi and sashimi which included a California roll, some salmon/tuna/red surf clam and shrimp nigiris. Also came with salmon, tuna, yellowtail, mackerel, white tuna sashimi pieces. The fish was really fresh and texture was on point. No complaints. Service + Ambiance - Mainly a takeout spot. read more

Small take out sushi that only takes cash. Ordered an XL party tray of sashimi, sushi and rolls and was it perfect to feed 5-6 adults. The tray was $115 with a pack of ice on top to keep it fresh and cold. This will definitely be one of my go to places when I want to order for a large party read more
We ordered these platters for a family get together and they were ready at the designated time. Very reasonable prices (cash only) and friendly staff. The fish was fresh and nicely presented. We will definitely be going back. read more

This is a TOUGH place to order from! I tried 3 times before I was finally able to place an order. On weekends, you have to place an order at least a day in advance. When I called, the phone rang for a loooong time. I was about to hang up but then someone picked up! I placed my order on Sunday for a Thursday night to celebrate early Chinese New Year. We REALLY enjoyed the sashimi. Everything was super fresh. It comes with salmon, tuna, white tuna, yellow tail and red snapper I think. Can't wait to get this again. The rolls platter was ok but I wouldn't get it again. We only got it since my brother doesn't like sashimi. It was made too early so the rice was a little cold and hard. It definitely fills you up though! The shrimp tempura rolls were ok too. Definitely getting sashimi here again. The price is great and the quality is high. They also give you a side of spicy Mayo and this spicy red gochujang sauce that is sooo good! I dipped the rolls in it and loved it. read more

Northern Sushi & Sashimi, a take out only spot fills that love with massive looking platters of their name sake for a relatively reasonable price and has been doing so for many years (since 1996), but for me I was recently turned on to this place by a fellow Yelper. For my first time I ordered the #17 Sashimi, Sushi, Roll Small Combo (Currently $50) and the #18 Eel Combo. Called ahead to place the order and it was ready on time - nicely packed with a bag of ice and tightly wrapped in saran wrap. The combo comes with 2 cups of miso soup, packets of soy sauce, utensils and a tub of spicy sweet red chili sauce (Gochujang?). I asked for spicy mayo and received a hefty tub of it. The price on the menu is exactly what you pay - no tax added, but it is cash only so come prepared. Staff was very friendly. The Sashimi sits on a mountain base of lettuce and shredded daikon with the dominant player being salmon. Some of the other fish was cut so small (literally like half inch width - little fish sticks) that when stacked looks like larger pieces. The fish quality is typical for most neighborhood sushi spots - nothing outstanding. The rice was a major miss for me - bland and slightly gloppy. Was this sushi rice? Did they even use vinegar? I enjoyed the Eel pieces in the combo, but even there the rice lessened the taste of the nigiri pieces. The Gochujang was interesting - I never had that served with sushi and it actually works like a shrimp cocktail sauce if that is your thing. I can understand the appeal of this place because they say most people eat with their eyes first and everything looks impressive here. They are also super friendly so I wish them many more years of continued success in pleasing the masses! read more

Really nice quality fish here! My family had been ordering for large parties for many years but stopping coming here after a bit of hiatus. The quality is still just as good. The staff here are welcoming when you enter and packed our sushi with ice. It's a take out only place. We ordered the combo medium platter and embarrassingly it was able to feed two of us. Fish was firm and very good. Some of the fattier fish slices came sprinkled with sesame seed and green onion and went well with gochujang. I appreciate the thoughtfulness in that! It came with three sides of miso soup and a bunch of soy sauce as well. I called a few hours ahead of time and let them know approximately when I would be by to pick up on a weekday. read more
Great place to go for take-out Sushi and Sashimi platters! We have had sushi from this restaurant several times, and it has always been great! This is definitely the best place to get take out sushi for house parties and celebrations. They package it very neatly with a bag of ice on top to keep the fish cool, and it is very presentable. Their fish is super fresh, and their cuts are very generous. The service is also great. The workers were very friendly and pleasant to speak with. Please remember that this place if Cash Only! I've made the mistake once of only coming with credit card. I would highly recommend the Sashimi platter. It comes with a seemingly endless amount of fish including salmon, tuna, yellowtail, escolar, and red snapper. It is a great deal for $45! They also have Sushi and Sashimi platters, as well as regular and special rolls. There are different platter sizes to accommodate for the number of people in your group. They are open for call-in take-out orders during the COVID-19 lockdown, so make sure you give this place a try! read more
Saw someone recommend this place for sushi takeout. And I decide to give a try. It's small take out only store. I call to please my order about an hour before pick up on Friday. When I arrived, my tray is ready wait for me to pick up. It has an icepack on the top to keep it fresh. I saw lots of tray is prepared. So maybe call ahead to order to avoid the wait. I got the sashimi sushi roll (small) $45 Totally impress the portion of it. About 30 pieces sashimi with 5 different kinda, 8 pieces California roll and 8 hand roll. And the size of the sushi and hand roll is pretty big, and the sashimi is very thick. Prob 2twice thicker than the one I had in manhattan . I saw they have medium, large and XL tray for different combo. All the price is very reasonable. Great value great food! read more

Service: Take-out Quantity: Good Price: Good Food: Combo #16 $60 So happy found this place, my colleague suggested. Due to COVID, both of us haven't had sushi for months. We ordered combo #16 serving for two to three people, but we finished all just two of us...hehehe. Excellent quality of sushi and sashimi and packed nicely with an ice bag on the top for taking out. We paid $60 in cash, what a bargain for the quality and the amount of sushi and sashimi we got. I'm sure I will order from this place again. Give it a try if you are in the area. read more
Called to order the day before, came in a little earlier than when I said I would and they had it all ready to go! The small platter was wrapped nicely with Saran Wrap and ice on top in a bag so it won't leak. It also came with soups and all the fixings for sushi. The small platter looks huge but it's the perfect amount for 2-4 people depending on how hungry you were. The fish pieces were not standard sashimi size but it was acceptable. It definitely did not feel like it was scraps quality so I'll be coming back for larger platters for parties! read more

Placed an order on the phone 2 days in advance for pickup on Super Bowl Sunday. Service was fast and easy. We got the XL platter with sashimi, sushi and rolls. It was devoured in minutes. Presentation is beautiful and fish is fresh. They only take cash so be prepared! Perfect for big groups! read more

Have been ordering sushi and sashimi from here for so long! My whole family loves this place and we think the price is really good for what you get. Sashimi platters are the way to go as they give you a good variety of salmon, tuna, white tuna and other fish. You can ask for substitutions with more or less of a type of fish. This establishment has always been take out only so it's really convenient especially during these times. It's CASH ONLY so please take note of that! There's a chase bank right across the street for chase holders. We usually get sashimi platters for celebrations like birthdays and holidays or just for the weekend. However, during Father's Day it was all booked out and they were not taking further orders. We didn't know you had to call a say in advance to place your order. So if you're trying to get sashimi platters for larger holidays, make sure to place your order at least a day in advance to avoid our situation ! Sashimi platters always come with a good amount of wasabi, ginger, and lemon slices for that fresh squeeze on top of the fish! It also comes with a spicy korean style gochu sauce for seafood! I love this sauce as it's a nice addition and they give so much we portion it out for future uses. The platters are all topped with a bag of ice which helps with transporting the food and all wrapped in plastic wrap for easy carry. It's a small shop on northern and 154th street but once you spot "Northern Sushi" you'll know that's it. Great place and seems to be a favorite amongst many in and around the area! read more
I had been dreaming of visiting this place for the longest time to experience cheap, good quality sushi platters. Luckily, I finally had the chance. Before going, I did see many reviews recommend calling ahead of time. I do wonder if they accept orders in store but just to be safe, I ordered a Small Sushi Platter ($45) over the phone for pickup. Keep in mind it's cash only! The store was filled with friendly vibes! It definitely looked more like a grab and go place, since there was no seating. Everyone was quick in assembling the chopsticks, plenty of soy sauces, and they even packed miso soup cups for us! Little did they know this meal was only for 2 people. One of the staff even opened the door for us! Not only was the service phenomenal, but the food was absolutely delicious. I love how a lot of the fish slices were longer than the rice, so you had that taste of raw sushi at parts. They had 3 sushi pieces each, with the exception of the regular rolls. Everything tasted super fresh, and it was so fun taste testing together. Would 11/10 recommend. This place did not disappoint, and I could see why it's so popular. read more

Take out sushi from Flushing, NY for Tuesday evening dinner. Feeling like I'm becoming an arrogant sushi snob, so apologies in advance. Presentation was a strong 8, but the ingredients were lacking. The red snapper was probably tilapia and the white tuna was probably escolar. Not positive what the yellowtail was, but it didn't taste like hamachi, just "irony" and flavorless, not the buttery piece of ocean I'm familiar with. The unakyu had a gel-like consistency and was not painted with any noticeable unagi sauce. The sushi rice was dry and un-vinegared. Everything looked great, but the entire platter was bland, flavorless and every piece of fish, except the unagi, shrimp and tuna was chewy (hmmm...chewy fish?). The tuna was the highlight-fresh, no sinew, but there wasn't much of it (see photos). I saw all the great reviews, so maybe it wasn't a perfect day here. The service was good as the order was ready when I arrived and packed with ice on top to preserve freshness. All this food for only $65 cash (CC not accepted), maybe I am becoming a sushi snob. read more
