We ordered the food individually instead of the pre determined menu and I'm not sure the cost of the meat is worth it

Came here on a Wednesday night and it was not too busy nor loud. We were seated right away and had a super knowledgeable waiter! Walked us through the whole menu without even looking and made great suggestions! Our stove top wasn't working quite well most of our time there so he let us have additional time added to our table which was so nice of him! The meat selection was pretty great and he was pretty on top of making sure we had drinks. He came frequently to help with the stove and meats which made it feel way more personal. This is my fourth time back this week, and every single visit has been a great experience! The entire staff is incredibly friendly, welcoming, and attentive, and the food has been amazing every time. Today, Jenny was our server, and she was absolutely wonderful. She was kind, attentive, and made sure we had everything we needed throughout our meal. This restaurant pretty good!! I went to a Japanese bbq in Japan and this is pretty similar! The people and servers were very nice! Service fast and very thoughtful. Our server was very nice to the kids and high fived them. We had a set and the meat was very good and easy to cook. There was a wheel in the front and we won free meat! My experience with the team on floor 2 was absolutely FLAWLESS. The team on their promotional 25 year celebration was exceptionally attentive, multiple members at multiple times. Katelin in specific is nothing short of a true gem, absolutely stunning service that makes me want to take a longer trip just to return back. Gyu kaku brings a very different option for flushing, very refreshing from the overload of Chinese cuisine. Food was fresh and price is reasonable. They even have an happy hour price to lower the price a little. Will definitely come back again. read more

The meats at this place, amazing!! The hot stone garlic rice? Even better! The rewards program they have make it all the more sweeter with freebies or $ or % off the meal. This restaurant has an unassuming entrance tucked away in the chaos of Flushing. As soon as you open the door, you're transported to a different world. Dark wood, cozy lighting and almost feels like you're going into a speakeasy bar. We checked in with the first hostess where the bathrooms are located. You will need a keycode. Once our full party arrived, we were told to head upstairs where there is another seating area and another host greets us. We waited about a total of 30 minutes after our reserved time of 5:30. We got to our table and felt the chill in the air. We're hoping once the grills were on, that it would warm us up. Half was bench seating and the other half was stools. OK for kids but might be harder for older adults. Jenny was our server and quite knowledgeable on the food options, allergies and menu. We ordered one of the preset menus for a large group that comes with cooked food and raw meats to grill. The fried dumplings were good, edamame was standard, salad was good but heavily dowsed with dressing. My favorite of the cooked food was the Japanese fried chicken (karage). It tasted way better than it looked because it looked overcooked and dry. The meat was juicy and tender. Kids loved it. Sukiyaki beef bibimbap was delicious. Simple but packed flavor. Spicy volcano was good with the flavor and different textures. The meats were really good. Veggie patter was standard. The variety and quality of the beef was excellent. The shrimp was standard. Overall, all the foods that needed to be grilled had good flavor. I didn't need to use any sauce as the meats were already well seasoned. One of our grills kept turning off and we were told it was due to the ventilation system. Frustrating but we got the hang of turning the grill back on. Service was excellent. Very attentive staff and great at keeping things moving. Definitely a well-oiled machine operating here. Smores were a part of the package and it was a lovely way to end the meal. After spending the day at the US Open, we were looking for a late meal that wasn't heavy and decided to try this place. Located off of Main St, it is located on the second floor. We skipped the BBQ and ordered Beef Bibimbap Sukiyaki, Tonkatsu Ramen and for dessert, we shared a Chocolate Lava cake. They didn't disappoint and it hit the spot. Service is friendly and efficient. Arrived around 3PM on a Saturday. They do happy hour on the weekends! Wasn't super busy. My party of 2 got a table for 4 so it was comfortable sitting there. Menu was a bit sticky. I'm gluten free and a majority of the menu has the GF label. This surprised me as marinades usually have gluten in it, usually from soy sauce or flour thickeners. This was my second time here and would definitely come back! My friend and I chose the Meat Lover's course which left us stuffed. I like how the set comes with salad, soup, apps, and meats--nice and well-balanced meal. Their cocktails are also super yummy. Recommend the Tokyo Iced Tea, Lychee Mojito, and Mango Tango. Not crazy loud in here and our booth was nice and spacious. Also, I noticed that I didn't leave smelling like meat (which I expected to) so that was great. Before today, I have never been to a bbq place without an experienced bbq-er (someone just tends to take over and orders for everyone at the table and I just sit and eat) so I was a little nervous. My family and I come here frequently to get our Korean bbq fix. Today I had a mango Mai tai which was really good. (I think this is my new go to drink when I come here) We were party of 8 so we ordered the feast combo which came with a variety of meats, 2 bowls of rice, vegetables to grill, a delicious salad, edamame, garlic shrimp and 6 s'mores to grill. We added a few menu items on- garlic noodles with chicken , additional rice and another harami skirt steak because who doesn't want a to go plate ? *I was devouring the food so it slipped my mind to take more pictures. The food is oh so delicious!! The beef rice will have you dreaming about this place. Our party had a few first timers and they couldn't stop talking about how much they enjoyed it. This is a great place to have get togethers as they're very accommodating. I celebrated my birthday here over the weekend and though they were extra busy because BlackPink's concerts were that same weekend, the staff was able to make my visit just as nice. They have a huge variety of items to choose from either their regular order items or meal bundles that satisfies the meat lover in everyone. If you're a seafood lover they're limited to calamari and shrimp. They do tell you how to and how long to grill your meats when your orders are brought to your table, which is very helpful. As I mentioned in the beginning this is a great place for get togethers and the ambiance allows for good conversation without background music being too loud. read more

We went for the weekday lunch special and it was really busy for a weekday but then we found out that they only had two servers on duty and that's probably why the tables weren't turned fast enough. Good thing we had a reservation. With that said, the servers did really well, not as attentive as they normally are but not bad considering the circumstances. The food was still really good, they rearranged their menu a bit which made it much easier to understand, showing the upcharges better. Now we can see how four people ordering $20 lunch specials can walk out spending $170 not including tip LOL. Probably my millionth visit to this location last night and I never wrote a review. We love gyu kaku, the concept is so fun but also the meat is insane. I was stoked that we lucked out with a booth last night. We had a 10 pm reservation for happy hour and ordered a few meats a la carte. Our favorites were the pork belly, kalbi and sirloin. The meats are brought out quickly and are super delicious and easy to cook! With the happy hour prices, everything is a steal. We ended with matcha tiramisu which was so so good. Our server Ke made sure to help us through the cooking process and made the experience go smoothly. They also gave an app where you can collect points for coupons, so more of an incentive to go. Wait time can be a bit during peak hours, they have a bar area where you can sit as well. I love that there are happy hour specials and late night specials. Food can be a bit pricey but if you do the combo sets and/or go for the specials they are pretty decent! I came here for a small engagement gathering, and it was pretty cool. We ordered the combo set so I can't account for the AYCE option (as of yet). Staff was cool, it was a great experience! read more
