Just ate here so this review is very fresh. Service was really appreciated and attentive my food came out fast for lunch but not fast enough to where they were like reheating things. Everything tasted home made and great for the price. Place was cozy and didn't feel cramped as someone with long legs. Would I go back? Absolutely. Appreciate yall.

Getting fresh sushi at a good price is hard to come by and I'm glad Yoi Sushi is in the neighborhood. Friendly staff and quick service. The establishment is on the smaller side but they do have an upstairs as well. Very bright interior and clean setting. My family and I love getting the bento boxes and lunch specials. Plenty of variety.

This is a place that looks very unassuming from the outside but has a nice interior design. I came in for a late lunch and luckily there was plenty of seating available. I believe they also have an upstairs dining area. I decided to try out the lunch special, which consisted of pork katsu, shrimp tempura, miso soup and vegetable udon. The portions were very generous and I liked the visual presentation of the food. My issue was the actual flavor or more specifically the lack of flavor in the food. The pork katsu was extremely dry and just didn't taste like there was any seasoning on the meat. It was more tolerable when mixing with the tonkatsu sauce. The udon broth was also extremely bland. The most flavorful thing was the passion fruit juice. I would not rule out coming back to this place but I will definitely order sushi or sashimi instead. The service was friendly and attentive and prices were reasonable.

I came to Yoi Sushi for a family dinner. We were seated in a booth on the first floor, but I believe they also have an upstairs dining area. The doorway is quite inconveniently placed because only one average sized person can squeeze out at a time. It was crowded the night we went too... We ordered the seafood ramen ($17.95), super bento box ($24.99), Usutsukuri ($12.99), 3 roll special ($15), and a la carte sushi/sashimi. They have a deal where you can order as many pieces of sushi/sashimi for $1.35 each as long as you ordered at least $20 of food from the regular menu and pay with cash. Overall, I would only order their sushi/sashimi because everything else tasted mediocre, or we didn't quite like it. Prices are good and affordable for the quality and portion size you get. If I'm ever craving sushi and don't want to travel to my go-to places in Manhattan then I will definitely come here again.

Sashimi regular set with 2 a la carte amaebi (sweet shrimp)

I ordered takeout from here during the pandemic more times than I can remember, but I finally had the chance to dine in recently. It just so happened that they had a limited promotion where you could order as many pieces of sushi/sashimi as you wanted for $1.35 each (as long as you ordered at least $20 of food from the regular menu and paid with cash). We ordered the "sashimi regular" set (12pc sashimi, selection varies) to hit that minimum, and then from the promotional menu we ordered around 20? more pieces. Fish was generally delicious across the board. I particularly liked how rich and slightly sweet the salmon that came with the sashimi set was (fattier than the the salmon a la carte which had a lighter flavour). Other highlights included the amaebi sweet shrimp (which is honestly a steal at $1.35 per piece) and the red snapper. Service was very friendly and efficient. Price point ultimately came out to around $2/piece (including tax/tip) which is pretty good for sushi of this quality. Would definitely recommend taking advantage of this promotion before it ends.

We were craving sushi and came across Yoi Sushi. We ordered the Pork and Chicken Katsu meal set and it came with several other sides with it. Everything about the meal was perfect, the crispness from the katsu and tempura, the freshness from the sashimi and Kani salad, and the miso soup paired perfectly with the meal. The staff was very attentive and nice. The lighting and seating booths/area gave a sense of privacy and comfortability which im a huge fan of.

We dropped by after checking out Fans Week at the US Opens. Amazing lunch and they really feed you here. Best sushi lunch, hands down. The food just kept coming out and we left full. The fish was very fresh and chicken katsu was a serving by itself. Service was quick and friendly. The restaurant has a limited seating and we were happy to have gotten a booth upon arrival.

I found this place on Google and Yelp. I never knew this place existed until I looked around Flushing for places to eat at. You would never know from the outside looking inside that the place would have so much seating. There's an upstairs part if there's an over fill of people on the first level. Once I was brought upstairs and was given a menu, I saw much more seating and how extensive the food options were here. I decided on the cash option of sushi. Where it was $1.35 per piece and you can either do regular sashimi or get it with rice. I decided for mostly sashimi. I was very full afterwards. If I ever do come back I would like to get the lobster special that they have where it's for two people.

Really solid food and experience! They might have one of the most worth it lunch specials that I have come across. For around $15, you get soup, salad, sushi roll, sashimi, tempura, and a main entree. Service was very friendly and very fast, perfect for a quick business lunch. Ambiance of the restaurant was cozy and comfortable. A really excellent place to enjoy a solo lunch or lunch with a few friends. This is a place I would definitely come back to when I'm in the area :)

Absolutely love YOI Sushi! The food is always super fresh, beautifully presented, and full of flavor. The fish tastes clean and high-quality -- you can tell they take pride in what they serve. I especially recommend their specialty rolls and sashimi platters; every piece melts in your mouth. The staff are friendly, attentive, and make you feel welcome from the moment you walk in. The restaurant itself is cozy and modern, perfect for both a quick lunch or a nice dinner out. Prices are really fair for the quality you get, too. If you're in Flushing and craving sushi, this is hands down one of the best spots around. Consistent, delicious, and great vibes every time!

I've had Yoi sushi a few times before as a take out and have liked it. We came by this week to try sit down dining. Service was really good- waiter was very attentive. The space is small but good for small parties. Nice minimalistic decor inside. For food, I have mix feelings. While the sashimi was fresh, the quality is ok. I like the white tuna, salmon and herring (I think). But the tuna is just ok. The soy sauce is a bit watered down and wasabi quality is just ok.

    P4. Platinum Sashimi Party Tray
    Phen O.

Recently ordered Platinum Sashimi Party Tray from Yoi Sushi. There are 72 pieces of assorted sashimi (raw fish). They were pretty fresh and tasty. Good for party of 4 or more. I just wish they had given more of other sashimi and less Salmon. We actually have been to this restaurant a few times before. There are plenty of tables on both floors. The staff were friendly. I wish they brought back the $1 sushi deal because we loved it! Tip: If you pay cash, they can give you some discount too.

My one gripe, and it applies to the whole surrounding area and not just Maxi's: there are basically no bathrooms to be found. Plan accordingly before you commit to a big bowl of soup. I usually get the Japanese-Styled Chicken Ramen because it's the most affordable for its price value ($12.50). No tax has been added to the total. Love how it also has the most pieces of meat compared to other ramen bowls on the menu. I think the number of meat pieces has been increased for the better this time. Would say there're about 15-20 pieces in total compared to the 8-9 pieces two years ago. Got there at 8:40pm and the food hall is about to close in 20 mins. Quickly ordered, paid, waited 10 mins max in the seating area, and then received my food shortly afterwards. Staff is polite + patient + generous. Chowed everything down in 15 minutes or so. Here's the quirky bit: in addition to the price of the ramen, you will be temporarily charged an extra $5 as a deposit for the bowl. It's just more sustainable, and who doesn't want to save the planet while slurping noodles? Now, onto the ramen itself: it was decently good and satisfying. Honestly, I'm not sure how authentic this ramen would be considered, but it sure did taste pretty good. (Did it teleport me to Japan? Not really since I've never been in Japan. Did it make my taste buds do a happy dance? Absolutely.) I didn't think it was bad at all, but then again, my ramen expertise is about as deep as a kiddie pool. Here Dawan Ramen, take my 4 stars.

We ordered: - Special Tonkotsu Ramen with Pork Soup: $13.99; $15.23 with tax. We ordered this with soba noodles. The char siu (pork) slices were good, if a little small, and the noodles were OK, but my companion thought the soup was a little thin and might have had a tinny taste. The half-egg was not marinated. The wood ear mushroom slices could have been cooked slightly longer. - Taiwanese Chicken Potstickers: $6.99; $7.61 with tax. The potstickers seem to have been store-bought instead of house-made. The potstickers seemed like they were steamed to reheat, and then lightly pan-fried, but their overall texture was that of gummy, steamed dumplings. The actual space is pretty nice and gives a family restaurant in a good way. It was a little awkward with the waitresses, who seemed to be on the quieter side, but nonetheless, they were kind. I got the abalone in the ponzu sauce ($8) and the wagyu beef sukiyaki lunch set ($21). The abalone was actually really good, and as my first time trying something like that, it was well worth it. The wagyu set was also pretty filling and very much worth the price. It came with a salad, an egg soufflé, sliced lotus root, pickled ginger, and rice. The actual sukiyaki was light and slightly sweet, but refreshing. I love that they packed it with vegetables in the sukiyaki. They even give you a complimentary ice cream at the end of your meal. The only thing that docked a point for me was that one other table, and I was the only one present at the restaurant, and there were two waitresses, and I believe another man was working, not too sure what his role was. All three of them would continuously check up on the other table, whereas I would have to flag them down if I needed anything. I noticed them making small conversation with the other table, but they would not really speak to me. It felt a little weird, given that we were the only two tables and somehow they had three people check up on them, and I had zero. The servers were still nice when I flagged them down, but it was just a little strange to be given that treatment. I'm hoping it was just an off day, as I do want to go back and try the other items.
