I had gotten a vegan ramen (not pictured), it was alright. I didn't realize the dish came with corn so that was my mistake for not asking about it. The ramen was slightly salty, almost unnoticeable. My daughter got plain broth with noodles, she loved it, did not complain about the salt level. We got a mochi donut and mochi ice cream for dessert the donut was really oily, we couldn't finish it between 4 of us. Literally just took one bite to try but that's it, kinda disappointing. The ice cream was really nice, chewy outside layer and cool ice cream inside. The service was excellent, really attentive staff and super helpful. I would definitely recommend this spot.

All I wanted was to get my check and pay and leave before the storm hit. She was talking to the new tables for a long long time. We ended up taking the check and paid up front. Basically we waited 10 minutes just to get the check. The restaurant should train their staff to keep the check with them, or have the remote credit card machine. When the customer asked for the check, the staff should be ready to provide in a timely manner. I will still come back, but will be more smart to ask for the check way ahead of time.

Not sure why the restaurant isn't busier because the good was very good. We split a cauliflower fritters appetizer, which was tasty and hot. It was a cross between breaded fried cauliflower and the Indian Gobi style. I had the mushroom burger, an 8 oz hamburger with mushrooms and sauteed spinach along with melted cheese. The meat was fresh and good. A big step above most burgers plus generous portions of sauteed onions and mushrooms along with melted cheeses. When I get my hamburger craving, I know where I'm going. The Butter Chicken Tacos were an unusual option. Based on Indian Butter Chicken, the national dish of UK along with Chicken Marsala, it was served in a naan with a side of rice. Really very flavorful and creative. The chopped salmon burger with mayo also comes with cheese, which was unexpected, but worked well. Service was prompt and friendly. The waitress and another wait staff person even moved furniture around looking for my grandson's red crayon. (He was sitting on it). Worth a visit even if you don't go have a craft bar or cocktail.

Once you bite into it, the chicken isn't mushy at all -- you can actually see the fibers, and it's very juicy and tender. The seasoning is well done and not overly salty. I went with their house sauce, which has a slightly pickled chili vibe -- mildly sour, a bit spicy, and with a unique aroma that's hard to describe but really enjoyable. The fried chicken burger was also impressive -- definitely shows some skill in execution. One unexpected highlight was the cornbread. I usually don't enjoy cinnamon-flavored desserts, but this one grew on me quickly. The texture was excellent, and it ended up being a pleasant surprise. Service was great -- the staff were friendly and welcoming, which made the whole experience feel relaxed and comfortable. Overall, a small spot but a really enjoyable visit. Would come back.

I recently dined in and outside of it being a bit cold for my liking, I enjoyed the experience. The staff is prepared for rushes and worked well through our Wednesday night visit. Which lended to an understanding of how much local MAPSO leans on this place. It was packed on a Wednesday night. All of that to say - my wife considers this one of the best chicken sandwiches she's ever had in her lifetime. I second, the salmon sando is my order and it's always fresh and perfectly cooked. Everything is is absolutely delicious. Never leave without a kale salad and a adobo.

The staff gave ample time for my family and I to say our hello's before greeting us with drink options. Upon sitting down our server brought us fresh bread and butter with flakey sea salt on top. For appetizers we had The Ralph Piccolo Pizza, Ricotta Crostini, Cacio E Pepe Fries, and Prosciutto Di Parma. All were insanely incredible. Great flavor, crispy where it needed to be crispy, soft where it needed to be soft. For my entree, I had the Crest De Gallo Pasta. The pomodoro sauce was on the savory side. It was a set menu and I am vegetarian, it was my option. It was good! I would love to return to try the Spicy Vodka Sauce Rigatoni. I am a spice lover. For dessert I had the most wonderful, rich, smooth chocolate mousse. The dish was called The Chocolate Spuma. It came with crumbled pistachios and fresh raspberries on the side of it. The flavors and textures together were perfect. The staff were so kind, had great humor, and fabulous manners. They held themselves very professionally. The head server for the event and the manager were lovely. I just had to pull the manager to the side and compliment all. I live 1.5 hours away but I would gladly book a weekend trip up to Maplewood, just to eat here again.

For appetizers we got the bread , the flatbread and the pretzel. All awesome. For my main I got the chicken and orzo Which was not what I expected. It came out more like a chicken soup, the waiter took the dish once I asked about it and got me the steak which was quite good. For desert I had the cake which was very good. I got the espresso martini, which I substituted out bourbon for vodka, with the cold foam topping it's incredible. Definitely give this place a try.

It was very off-putting and unpleasant to taste. Our server was kind enough to bring us a replacement order, which was better, but there was still some sand present. Our mocktails were also not tasty. We also ordered the fried calamari and shrimp appetizer. The calamari tasted stale and lacked freshness. The peppers helped add some flavor, but it still wasn't enjoyable. The shrimp was probably my favorite item of the entire meal. For our entrees, we ordered the skirt steak with fries. My husband's fries were stale, while mine were decent. I wasn't impressed with the steak, as it lacked flavor, and the chimichurri sauce tasted odd. The corn succotash, however, was quite good. By the end of the meal, we didn't even feel like trying dessert. Overall, the food quality and freshness need significant improvement. Although the service was excellent, unfortunately, we will not be returning.

Pasta Flavio: where it's not all about the Flavor, for better or worse…read more To be fair, this order was takeout, so the judgment is mainly on the food, and nothing for the ambiance. Service was on time, order was done correctly... we _think_. To be clear: * Don't rely on the menu descriptions. The alfredo sauce, for example, is not the creamy texture you're used to. It's cheesy bits in oil. Not bad, but not what I was expecting. And "truffles" were invisible - just the oil, not shreds of mushroom. * Compared to my favorite local establishment, The Pasta Shop in Denville, the pasta is a noticeable step lower in texture. There are fewer varieties of pasta here than the Shop, but on the other hand, much more customizable plates. The Pasta Shop is set up where you can order from their standard menu or their daily specials, withhold an item if you're allergic. Here at Flavio, you can choose your meat(s), sauce(s), toppings (up to 7, and then I imagine you can choose more at a cost). And you get a lot of meat - my chicken was hidden in the photo, but stirring turned it all up. And it wasn't too salty, and nicely grilled. But the other toppings, you get less. My arrabiata pepper was shredded in very sparse amounts. Struggled to find other veggies. Only a few garlic cloves, tho nicely roasted. Verdict? Will sacrifice quantity (of what can be ordered) for quality and stick with The Pasta Shop.
