Just aggressively, overwhelmingly salty. Every bite felt like a dare. Between the bacon and the cheesesteak, it was sodium stacked on sodium with zero balance. I genuinely couldn't finish it after two bites. At that point, it felt like I had just thrown money straight into the trash. The sausage stuffed peppers were decent...thankfully. Not mind-blowing, but at least edible and competently made, which is more than I can say for the sandwich. They saved me from a starving morning. Extremely disappointed. I'm all for flavor, but when the dominant note is "are they trying to preserve this for winter?" something has gone very wrong in the kitchen.

Rosa Morelli, the proprietor of Rosa's Italian Restaurant just happens to also be Our friends Mother-in-law so we all knew that we were in store for something special. We started off with some fantastic and delicious appetizers, including a variety of homemade potato pizza (really good), prosciutto and mozzeralla, bruschetta, eggplant caponata, plus fruit and a variety of other tasty treats. The entrees (all served family style) including pappardelle with sausage in cream sauce, chicken francese, grilled shrimp over bracolli rabe and fusilli with vodka sauce. Amazing meal and Rosa and family could not have been nicer. Rosa's is a BYOB and there is street parking only. It is located less than a mile away from the Willowbrook Mall. By request, there was not too much meat served tonight because of the religious holiday (ash Wednesday). We ended the meal with some Italian pastries, a celebratory cake commemorating the occasion and tartufo. A great evening with long time friends and good food. Interesting note about Rosa's Italian Restaurant and Caterer. This restaurant is not generally open to the public. It is not a walk in restaurant. If you would like to come to Rosa's you have to pre-schedule your dinner in advance with at least 8 or more people (up to 40 according to Rosa) and Rosa will accommodate you. You can discuss selected entrees if you like but generally the meal will consist of the dishes that Rosa is making that day. Even though I am a Louis Prima fan (sorry for the obscure reference) the bone to meat ratio just doesn't make up for the higher fat content. At least for me. This guys ribs changed that. You don't eat these ribs so much as you hold them up and allow the meat to dive into your mouth like an Olympian off the 10 meter platform. They are that good. And I have eaten enough brisket in my life that writing a review including a reference to pork is probably something I shouldn't do publicly, but his is top notch. Lastly, I come on this site and often see reviews regarding the personal nature of the proprietor of the business, which are sometimes so vicious and misplaced, it is not a mystery why the writers of South Park want to feed some of the members of this site what they want to feed them. To that end, if you have a problem with either Dan or his staff, I would have to say that the problem is most likely with you. They couldn't be nicer, more courteous and helpful.
