We stopped by this store on our way home from SoCal and were so impressed by the selection! From pastries to spices, juices and meat selection, this market is awesome! I wish they had one closer to us in the bay area!!

The cashier was great but employee Adrianna ruined my entire shopping experience with her ego

I went back to this NorthGate Market to get some items for a fish Friday dinner and this time my experience was absolutely amazing and beautiful. The entire team was so respectful. The service at the fish deli was so nice and respectful! The staff I came across while browsing were doing such a good job with stocking and keeping the store clean and safe. The entire vibe was beautiful. A big shout out to the cashier James who literally put the cherry on top with my great visit and experience. I can home to cook my fish with so much love and motivation with appreciation on the energy I received. Thank you team at NorthGate Market. Keep up the good work. Blessings with warm regards Mr.Ortiz aka Fonzy

This is my absolute favorite Mexican market and my go to anytime im in Anaheim! Their freshly made food is absolutely delicious and their bakery is the best! Their produce and food are always fresh and the prices are great. Highly recommend this place.

So I went on Saturday 8/24 around 6pm. I went to pick up some ceviche, cake and Mexican Coke to take to my mom for her bday. Food was great, it was pretty clean and busy nothing out of the usual for this place. Unfortunately, the issue came with one particular worker in the area where you can order their chicken family meals. Right next to it, is the bakery, I stood there for about 10 mins and nobody came out. So I actually got in that good order line and waited patiently to get to a worker and asked if they could call someone over to the bakery or if one of them could help (3 of them). This lady yelled at me and said we don't work there wrong line. I said I understand but can someone be called & yell again no we dont work there. luckily the reason I'm doing 3 stars instead of 1 is because a young man that was there quietly went to the back and got someone to come to the other side. kid that wasnt to friendly eithrr but he did give me my cake quickly. the young man that originally, helped me get my ceviche too. i wish i remembered his name but, thank you for saving my evening and your great customer se

Disappointing Experience - Felt Cheated Where do I begin? After my recent visit to this store, I'm unfortunately not surprised by the poor reviews here on Yelp. One thing I absolutely cannot tolerate from any business is being cheated out of what I paid for. On Sunday, 9/21/25, I went to the location on Lincoln Ave to purchase 4 lbs of beef tripe. What I received, however, was 3 lbs of actual tripe and nearly 1 lb of what was essentially just balls of fat. The tripe was already cut, which I initially thought would be more convenient but that turned out to be a mistake. I never imagined that a store would deliberately pad an order with a full pound of inedible fat. (pic only shows a portion of what they added to my order). This is completely unacceptable. I will not be returning to this market, and I strongly caution others, especially in the Latino community to be aware of these pricing and product practices. High prices, poor service, and misleading products from the meat department make this a place I simply cannot recommend. I will also make a complaint with the Better Business Bureau.

This is the avocados I buy yesterday.9/16/25

We got everything we needed and this place was packed. Price was decent $87. The ambiance wasn't that appealing however the food is good choices. Parking right in front.

    That's her name.

Cashier name Ermilia was talking with other employee wasn't even paying attention to us. Then she was very rude. She ended up talking loud to me.

Bad quality service. Extremely and ridiculously slow lines to pay. I do not understand how clients accept this Poot service.

They have a variety of Japanese foods, treats, beverages, and alcoholic beverages. I just love Mitsuwa stores in general. We unfortunately didn't get in until just about closing time for the Food Court. It would've been sooner had I not needed to clean up my youngest daughter who got carsick the moment we parked the car... we drove out from Vegas. But this location was just five minutes away from the hotel we were going to spend the night in. Hopefully if we come back to this area, we will be able to get here sooner and have a better experience and opportunity to order from a larger selection of restaurants in the Food Court that will be open.

At the very least, it has been my favorite chain of Japanese markets, but it stinks how they have just one location in the Bay Area! In fact, across my limited number of trips to SoCal, I've already visited more locations down here than back at home and I have to say - this location may be the newest, but it's also my least favorite one I've been to. Like pretty much every other Mitsuwa I've been to, this location has a cute little food court with a half dozen or so eateries offering a variety of food options - from ramen, udon, and curry rice plates to onigiri, matcha, and Japanese sweets. As for the market, it has all of the usual offerings you would expect - a solid selection of fresh produce, meats, seafood, frozen foods, pantry staples, alcohol, snacks, and sections of prepared foods and sushi to choose from. What's more, as a whole, everything here felt so new and clean (which makes sense in hindsight, as it apparently opened only back in November). With all of that having been said, though, it's weird to me how this place still felt a bit...lacking. While you can find a decent mix of things to eat at their food court, it's pretty much limited to three eateries, so don't be surprised to see lines when it's busy. Also, despite how new it is, the market feels smaller than other Mitsuwas I've been to. That's not inherently bad, but pickings felt relatively slim for certain meats and produce we were looking for, as well as their bento boxes and sushi. Granted, it probably didn't help that we were here on a Sunday and the place was packed with customers, but it's not like we stopped in towards the end of the day either. All in all, while I definitely think there are plenty of positives about this location, I'd be lying if I said I was as impressed with this one as I was by their location in Costa Mesa. It's definitely nice how new it is and I would never be opposed to going to any Mitsuwa, but if I lived out this way, it'd be tough not to know whether I'll be able to get everything I need here or if I'll also need to stop off somewhere else. THREE AND A HALF STARS rounded down for now.

One evening around 7:30 pm (the store closes at 8 pm), we realized we were out of rice and stopped by quickly to grab a single 50 lb bag of jasmine rice. Knowing it was close to closing time, we even checked with the security guard at the front to make sure it was okay to go in quickly--he said yes. We went straight in, grabbed the rice, and headed directly to the cashier. Unfortunately, the cashier (name on the receipt: Tana) was very unpleasant. When we explained that we only had the one bag and could pull it forward for her to check without lifting it onto the counter, she gave us a dirty look and said, "Do it." When we asked if we could pay with Apple Pay, she stared at us without responding, turned away, and then said, "Scan it." The entire interaction felt unnecessarily rude and dismissive. I understand it was near closing time and that retail work can be exhausting, but customers who are respectful and quick shouldn't be treated like an inconvenience or an enemy. We really want to continue supporting this store, but experiences like this make it difficult.
