How this place is still open is beyond me. I bought kalo, mamoe and sosisi around 11am and the food tastes old and disgusting. I am so disappointed and the fact that 3 Samoans took a look at the food and left should've been my turning point. Makaga le igoa o meaai Samoa ae leaga le faiga. Make the drive to Poasa in carson or Park avenue in Riverside. Trust me it's worth it.

Old and disgusting raw fish item that the owner said was made the day before. I will make sure to call the health inspector about this

DO NOT COME HERE The place is run by an old man. I came here because usually the food is not that bad. And I was craving Samoan food. Specifically oka (raw fish in coconut milk). I asked owner if there was any oka left and he said there's a lot left in the fridge where soda is. I open fridge and asked him this looks old. He goes, "No it's still good I make from yesterday." Obviously he's a liar and gave me old and disgusting food to eat where I could have caught some type of mercury or something. Anyone who knows about this place knows this is NOT where you want to get you Samoan food craving from. Everything is old and disgusting!

Very friendly. First time trying the food. I had the octopus, taro greens and turkey tails. It was all yummy. Can't wait to go back and try something else.

It looked closed but there's a neon OPEN sign when I drove up closer.

This store no longer carries taro leaves (luau leaves). They should start carrying it again even on a limited basis, like once a month.

They have a variety of Japanese foods, treats, beverages, and alcoholic beverages. I just love Mitsuwa stores in general. We unfortunately didn't get in until just about closing time for the Food Court. It would've been sooner had I not needed to clean up my youngest daughter who got carsick the moment we parked the car... we drove out from Vegas. But this location was just five minutes away from the hotel we were going to spend the night in. Hopefully if we come back to this area, we will be able to get here sooner and have a better experience and opportunity to order from a larger selection of restaurants in the Food Court that will be open.

At the very least, it has been my favorite chain of Japanese markets, but it stinks how they have just one location in the Bay Area! In fact, across my limited number of trips to SoCal, I've already visited more locations down here than back at home and I have to say - this location may be the newest, but it's also my least favorite one I've been to. Like pretty much every other Mitsuwa I've been to, this location has a cute little food court with a half dozen or so eateries offering a variety of food options - from ramen, udon, and curry rice plates to onigiri, matcha, and Japanese sweets. As for the market, it has all of the usual offerings you would expect - a solid selection of fresh produce, meats, seafood, frozen foods, pantry staples, alcohol, snacks, and sections of prepared foods and sushi to choose from. What's more, as a whole, everything here felt so new and clean (which makes sense in hindsight, as it apparently opened only back in November). With all of that having been said, though, it's weird to me how this place still felt a bit...lacking. While you can find a decent mix of things to eat at their food court, it's pretty much limited to three eateries, so don't be surprised to see lines when it's busy. Also, despite how new it is, the market feels smaller than other Mitsuwas I've been to. That's not inherently bad, but pickings felt relatively slim for certain meats and produce we were looking for, as well as their bento boxes and sushi. Granted, it probably didn't help that we were here on a Sunday and the place was packed with customers, but it's not like we stopped in towards the end of the day either. All in all, while I definitely think there are plenty of positives about this location, I'd be lying if I said I was as impressed with this one as I was by their location in Costa Mesa. It's definitely nice how new it is and I would never be opposed to going to any Mitsuwa, but if I lived out this way, it'd be tough not to know whether I'll be able to get everything I need here or if I'll also need to stop off somewhere else. THREE AND A HALF STARS rounded down for now.

One evening around 7:30 pm (the store closes at 8 pm), we realized we were out of rice and stopped by quickly to grab a single 50 lb bag of jasmine rice. Knowing it was close to closing time, we even checked with the security guard at the front to make sure it was okay to go in quickly--he said yes. We went straight in, grabbed the rice, and headed directly to the cashier. Unfortunately, the cashier (name on the receipt: Tana) was very unpleasant. When we explained that we only had the one bag and could pull it forward for her to check without lifting it onto the counter, she gave us a dirty look and said, "Do it." When we asked if we could pay with Apple Pay, she stared at us without responding, turned away, and then said, "Scan it." The entire interaction felt unnecessarily rude and dismissive. I understand it was near closing time and that retail work can be exhausting, but customers who are respectful and quick shouldn't be treated like an inconvenience or an enemy. We really want to continue supporting this store, but experiences like this make it difficult.
