    The exchange

We recently purchased a new Grand Design fifth wheel from Northgate. As always there are pros and cons. First off we had a great sales assistant named Emily, she made the purchase a feel good experience. We bought a new one and traded in, so it was a full day to begin with as we live 3 hours from the dealership. We made it more stressful as we have to puppers that travel with us full time so while they installed the fifth wheel they had to be with us. For the cons, and for reason of the 3 stars... they are very unorganized and need a checklist system with training very badly. The young man that did our pre purchase inspection and training was a service tech filling in. Extremely nice but not knowledgeable on all questions, the training lacked a lot. F&I was confusing with mistakes which after a full day we were exhausted and groggy. We finally got our financial part out of the way and then they called us back in for a mistake.... again concerning issues. One thing that was crazy was we asked for water, we were told they didn't keep bottled water as the sales associates drank it. I would hope that they make enough margin that they can supply water to paying customers and staff. All in all we left dazed, tired and confused with our new 5th wheel and found out all the questions we didn't get answered when we sat it up for the first time. The experience was a mediocre one that could have been made better by focus and training on taking care of new customers at the point of sale by the training and F&I

My husband and I purchased our very first RV this past Saturday, and I honestly cannot say enough about the experience we had with Rusty. I started my research online and found an RV that caught my attention. I sent an email, and Rusty responded almost immediately. Instead of simply trying to sell me the RV I initially inquired about, he took the time to ask questions about what my husband and I were actually looking for--everything from the size and features we wanted to our budget. I explained to him that this would be our first RV purchase and that, as complete newbies, we didn't want to sink a lot of money into something until we knew this lifestyle was truly for us. Within minutes of speaking with me, Rusty sent pictures of an RV that he felt would be perfect for us--and it was well below our budget! He also told us that he had four other RVs in mind in case that one didn't meet our needs. He explained that the RV had literally just arrived that day and hadn't even been posted on the website yet. Because of the price and what it had to offer, he honestly felt it wouldn't last long and encouraged us to come see it as soon as possible if we were interested. We scheduled an appointment for the very next day. When we arrived, Rusty was waiting for us in a golf cart and greeted us with a warm, formal introduction. He explained his sales approach right from the beginning: his goal was to accommodate our needs and our budget by showing us the RVs he felt were the best options for us. What I appreciated most was that he did not hover over us or pressure us. He pointed out important features, educated us on what to look for when inspecting an RV, and then allowed us the freedom to explore and take everything in on our own. Every RV Rusty showed us was absolutely beautiful, but the one he had originally sent us pictures of was truly THE ONE. The moment we stepped inside, we felt at home. We knew that was the camper we wanted. Then came the stressful part of our day. While Rusty was showing us other RVs so that we could make an educated decision, another salesman showed the exact RV we had driven two hours to see and purchase to another customer. When we walked into the sales center, my husband noticed the customer sitting at a desk with the other salesman and immediately said, "I hope he's not trying to purchase that camper." Rusty immediately went to investigate--and unfortunately, that was exactly what was happening. Our hearts dropped. We truly thought we had lost the RV we had fallen in love with. But thank goodness for Rusty! Rusty immediately stood up for us and fought to make sure we were treated fairly. He explained to management that we had driven two hours, had a scheduled appointment specifically to see that RV, and had arrived before the other customer. The other salesman argued that because Rusty had been showing us other RVs while his customer looked at the camper, he should have the right to sell it. Rusty explained that he was doing exactly what any good salesperson should do--showing us other options so that we could make an informed and educated decision. He stood firm that because we had an appointment, had traveled two hours, and were there first to purchase that RV, it should not be sold out from underneath us. Despite the other salesman's efforts to undermine the situation, management agreed with Rusty, and because of his honesty, integrity, and willingness to stand up for his customers, we were able to purchase the RV of our dreams! Rusty, we cannot thank you enough for everything you did for us. From the very first email, you listened to what we wanted, respected our budget, educated us throughout the process, never pressured us, and ultimately went above and beyond to make sure we were treated fairly. As first-time RV buyers, we were nervous about the entire process, but Rusty made us feel comfortable every step of the way. You can tell when someone genuinely cares about finding the right fit for their customer instead of just making a sale--and Rusty is absolutely that person. If you are looking to purchase an RV and want someone who is knowledgeable, honest, patient, hardworking, and willing to truly go to bat for his customers, Rusty is the person you need to ask for! Thank you, Rusty, for helping us find our perfect RV and for making our very first RV-buying experience one we will never forget. We are beyond grateful!

One was newer and one was to make sure she did everything correctly which I did not mind at all! The issue I'm having with camping world (this one in particular) is that they told us we were approved for the trailer we were looking at. They told us the monthly prince and who we were approved with. We made a deal that we wanted to see the trailer hooked up to make sure the lights and utilities worked before we took the trailer off the lot. They agreed and we signed paperwork. Tell me why 2 days later we get a call saying we need a co-signer and that we weren't approved? I told them there must be Miss communication happening because we were approved. We waited to hear back. We didnt hear anything so we figured no news is good news! The day we agreed to see the trailer hooked up, our friends came down with their truck because I figured there wouldn't be an issue and we could use their truck to tow it back to the house. We were then informed that we were still waiting to be approved and that our monthly payments went down because our credit was better than we told them! I started to get nervous because we already signed papers. To make it worse, the trailer was not hooked up. And we would have to wait additional time for it to be hooked up! We decided to go get something to eat and while we were eating we were told we were not approved. This is absolutely insane to be going back and forth with customers who already signed paperwork and had an agreed upon date to see the trailer. We already agreed how much to put down, and what our payment would be and who we were financing with. This is awful business practices

We purchased a 2018 Keystone Carbon from Mike at Chattanooga Camper Sales (CCS) in August of 2020…read more Even after reading multiple questionable reviews about thousands of $ of repairs, we were convinced by the warranty from CCS that we would be covered if something happened. We've now learned that we should have NOT bought from CCS under any circumstances. Here are 8 reasons why: 1. CCS recommended and installed a sway bars hitch system rated to 50% of trailer weight. Within 6 days, the hitch was bending and could have resulted in a catastrophic failure. This is criminal negligence. 2. CCS was negligent in maintaining the tires in working order, and within 8 hours of driving off the lot, two tires blew 3. CCS was negligent during the titling process and sold the trailer with an incomplete title. The title was missing multiple signatures & details which required multiple trips to the DMV to fix. 4. CCS installed a faulty fuse in our truck which required a repair from Ford Dealer 5. CCS failed to fully inspect the trailer even after assuring us everything was in working order. We discovered the speakers and the stove fan were broken even after we asked CCS to fix these items. 6. CCS lied and said the Fresh Water indicator was working. We had asked CCS to fix the fresh water indicator twice, and after both times, they said the indicator was fixed even when it was still broken as later confirmed by a different repair shop. 7. CCS was negligent in inspecting the sewer system and sold a trailer with a faulty system. The tanks on the trailer are mislabelled, and the valve on the second gray tank is broken. 8. CCS failed to prepare the trailer and sold it with empty propane tanks,a faulty battery, and one set of keys. CCS has taken advantage of us as new trailer owners and sold a "lemon" to us requiring thousands of dollars of repairs. DO NOT buy from CCS under any circumstances.

Bendan, the salesman, had my credit ran so we know what we're working with. I picked one out. None of the campers are hooked up so it's a guessing game if the water or electric really work. They do minimal inspection on travel trailers unless I pay $2000-$3000. A high price to make sure everything works. We did the financing. First we tried with my daughter on the loan and was told I'm better off doing it in just my name. I was told I was approved, gave what I was told was non-refundable $250 to hold it. I signed financial papers, paid for insurance (I was given the number for Good Sam) and got it street ready. I needed more to put down however, the money would not be available until after I was on the road. Brendan asked if I could have the down payment in 2 weeks. I told him yes. I was told to stop at any Camping World and pay the rest of the deposit when I had it. I did that. The Camping World in Little Rock had no idea what I was talking about. I called Brendan who seemed to be confused if I was approved or not and he said they had texted and called me. I received none of them. He referred me to Eric in finance who told me an appointment has to be made to pay at another CW. No one told me that. Brendan did not do that when he told me to do so. Eric told me I was not approved then said I was approved and just needed to prove my income. He also said the $250 was refundable. I work for cash and offered the documentation I have and he said he will call the bank and see if it's acceptable. Apparently the bank never called back because Eric never called me back. Brendan called me today and I told him I'm no longer interested. I've been jerked around, lied to and no one can get on the same page. After reading their reviews. my experience is more the norm. He denied telling me I was approved. He went back and forth, so it wasn't clear if I was approved or not and told me it's my fault I bought the insurance. He then told me I needed a co-signer. This is new. The needing different things from day to da is very frustrating. Things changed daily with these people. Nothing they told me was the same from day to day. It was a very confusing and frustrating experience that added 90 minutes to my already long trip. I have no idea why they had me sign financial papers if I didn't fit the ever changing requirements. This experience was confusing, frustrating and leaves me in a situation where when we're home, there is no place for my daughter to go and no where to put her belongings. I live in a very small cabin built for 1. This situation is going to cost a lot of money for a hotel for her until we can find a travel trailer through someone who knows what their doing and doesn't change their story on a regular basis. I talked to a few other and literally every other place I talked to does all the inspections and repairs CW wants $2000-3000 for and it doesn't cost more. I found a newer, bigger, better quality travel trailer for half the price. I didn't realize how over priced CW is until I shopped elsewhere. Don't go here. There are plenty of other RV and travel trailers in Chattanooga that do thing respectfully, legally and they tell you the same story from day to day. Their clear on financing and new requirements don't pop up. They call and text when they say they did and even hook them up to electric and water so I can see everything works. I didn't need a co-signer and the interest rate is good. After reading other reviews, I'm so thankful I ended up not buying from them. I can't imagine what kind of fresh hell I would have to deal with.
