Hi, My boyfriend & I moved in May of this year. So far we love our new home. Yes, we had some minor maintenance issues, but once I put a request to the Northpark team, maintenance responded right away & took care of our minor issues right away. I was very pleased with the maintenance team and how professional he was. I had other little things in our apartment that needed to be fixed & he took care of them despite his busy schedule. Other than our maintenance problems, my boyfriend and I love being residents at Northpark. Pros- close to the freeway which is nice. Close to Broadway and Burlingame Ave and all the yummy restaurants near by. - Spacious 1 Bedroom apartment. Lovely neighbors & respectful so far. - lovely kitchen with alot of storage - washer & dryer in our unit- so amazing! - the office building employees are welcoming, helpful and responsive. Con- the trains that go by tend to be loud. If you're considering Northpark maybe explore finding a unit thats not near the train tracks. read more

Would not recommend living here - management team is not responsive/helpful - expect weeks-months delay for service repairs to be completed and then for the service team to randomly enter your unit without notifying you first (you give consent for them to enter your unit by completing a service repair) - building is dirty/ bug infestations - residents smoke inside their units/patios which get into your apartment or in public areas like pool -company was charging almost $200/month for shared utilities (trash/sewer/water/etc) read more

Very fast, very efficient, very friendly. North park apartment has a very good maintenance team. I had a problem with my toilet. We're a week and a half into this place, avoid if you can. - We found cockroaches in our apartment - Ventilation system is bad, we're constantly getting everyone's cooking smells in our apartment. Cigarette smoke being funneled into our apartment on a regular basis as well. It is really close to the freeway so if you don't mind paying close to 3k for a one bedroom, living with cockroaches, and having cigarette smoke pushed into your apartment at random parts of the day. Update: the response from the apt complex manager is ridiculous. I was located in apt 118 building 4. You should be able to find me in your system. Also, I have receive no response from emails I sent out on 5/6/24 & 5/25/24 so unsure why you would care to have me contact now? would give a 0 if possible. I was there for 2 years and my biggest regret was not leaving after my 1-yr lease was up. I was located in building at 1025 cadlilac. I would suggest to stay away from that building. the apartment was damp and moldy, the had to come in several time to remove mold. Mold in my clothes closet, above and under my bed. And I even invested in dehumidifiers. the hallway was always wet and dirty. there was always trash everywhere outside the building. they definitely neglected this building. Aside from the run down and out dated apartment, the staff at the office aren't much better. Hi, because I got a response on here from Jennifer, who I've never seen or heard of, I would like to state that I have an ongoing discussion with management about what I've observed (breach of warranty of habitability with mold and moisture) that has reached no real solution. Be aware of your legal resources when renting here. As for the other concerns, they still stand. The responses on here, much like their approach of painting over mold on walls of other tenants, is but barely a bandaid approach that fails to address or resolve issues I and others have experienced and are currently experiencing. Move in experience was terrible, they couldn't seem to generate a proper lease and pushed back our move in date AFTER we already made payment. There was no communication between employees on what needed to be done. 2 weeks after moving in the maintenance team put a huge hole in our wall while working on the apartment next door - only fixed because my girl was home and called them out. They literally were about to leave without even checking. We were put on a "waitlist" for parking and after a year was told we still were number 19 on the list (abundance of parking in the back lot by the shipping storage container) We were told the heaters in the apartment are energy efficient and meant to run all day without increasing the PGE bill - that was a lie. My jumped to ~380/mo The move out experience was even worse - Vincent said we could adjust our move out date/inspection in the app anytime - another lie I had to contact the lease team multiple times to get the date corrected I set an inspection for 4/24 & requested to be present, asked for them not to enter my apartment without me being there. On 4/17 I get a notification that the inspector entered my apartment without permission and conducted an inspection without me present. Spoke w/ vincent asking why this happened and he says "they were only there for 5 minutes" He has no idea what was inspected, cannot give me any details and calling the main number (650) 342-2301 get you absolutely nowhere after several days. There was also a bunch of MOLD build up in the closet/wash room. They have sensor to monitor this in the apartment but nothing is done to combat Stay away! We are finishing up our 12 month lease and decided to move to a larger space within Northpark! This is a very honest review from a current resident who has been here for a year. Pros: -dog friendly -generally expensive BUT admittedly a great deal for the beautiful area. The bay trail is a walk bridge away and there's a park and Burlingame Ave/Broadway nearby. There's no place at a lower rent rate than northpark in all of Burlingame. -there is a gym and two pools -1st floor units are hardwood -leasing office staff are friendly and informative + do their best to make the community an inclusive and safe place to live. -generally quiet neighbors, everyone mostly keeps to themselves and doesn't both anyone (at least in my building) -in unit laundry and dishwasher -got a second parking spot after 8 months on the waitlist Cons -The 520 sq ft units are most definitely not for two people, we thought it was enough space but if you have 2+ people, do for larger units. So yes, a couple wouldn't fit here. Might be obvious for ppl but it wasn't for us haha -No guest parking, there are spaces designated as do but tenants take them up, so when I have guests, they have to find parking on the street and it's sometimes far. Tenants even save the parking spots for themselves or other tenants sharing their unit. -we have seen teenage kids climb over the fence to get to the pools, more security would be better. -elevators and interiors are outdated, doors to enter elevator and buildings are heavy. So difficult when getting groceries. -outdated key and gating system. I would love to see an electronic key fob system implemented. -the package room is a disaster, I've lost packages and never gotten them. I've gotten a notification my package arrived but is nowhere to be seen. I'd like to see an investment on a more secure and organized package room. Takes so long to pick up a package. -facilities is super busy, a work order takes long to complete. They're nice people, just too much work for the number of people on the team probably. I'd like to see more people hired for facilities and repairs. -once you're a tenant, you have to send an email 2-3 times to get a response sometimes from the leasing team but once you get a hold of them, they're super helpful. Some other things to note: extremely close to Caltrain. This can be a pro or con for anyone. We do hear the train loudly from our building and I think buildings near the train should get a lower rent rate. BUT the other side is close to the freeway, also loud. Construction on Anson was so loud and terrible, rent should've been lower then too. They're doing construction again near building 5 and if it's as loud as anson was, rent definitely should be lower. There's a weird smell that comes from a small building just outside of the northpark complex on the Rollins side... it smells like straight up sewage so we avoid that area like the plague. Refused to transfer anywhere near that building. Overall, for us, the pros outweigh the cons. Has everything we personally need and in a great neighborhood and area surrounded by good food and only 15-20 minutes from San Francisco. We are foodies and love going to and from the city. Live here if you if don't want to have water due to construction most of the time. While our leases call for "routine" maintenance and construction, we are left without water at least one day per week. Some weeks they will shut off water 3-4 days per week. This is NOT temporary. This has been going on for years. Also, the complex can send out a text at the drop of a hat when there is a food truck out front but not when a building is on fire. They only sent a text to the building but not to the entire complex who were affected by the fire and smoke. How unsafe to put their resident said at risk. read more

Check out some of their perks below: - Most of your packages stolen by other residents (15+ in the last year. 5 of which were stolen in the past 3 weeks) - Illusion of a "secure" package room with cameras that mean nothing. (Residents know this so thefts became more brazen over the past year) - A "security" company who conveniently never has the right angle to see happened to your packages (even with 8+ cameras in the package room and photo evidence to prove your packages made it into the package room, you'll still discover they've been stolen by the time you get home from work) - Unresponsive Leasing office staff who you can count on to ignore your phone calls and email outreach for help. - Missing-in-action service team with questionable "solutions" such as spray painting where water poured through your roof rather than repairing mold, only adding caulk to your bathtub drain that poured water into lower resident's apt, and telling you to call 911 if you have a problem after your apartment fills with a thick burning substance that sends your air purifier to "dangerous" levels for over an hour and a half. Don't let the fresh coat of paint and new asphalt fool you...behind it all is a deteriorating property and management team. read more

Then a self-guide tour the day after that. will be signing the lease for 1-bedroom maybe next week for $2k-ish with 2 months free promo. Hella butt-hurt that we waited too long to move in to a 2-bedroom unit for $2300ish with 2 months free. Rates fluctuate everyday. Keep in mind DECEMBER to JANUARY is the best time to sign leases for apartments. Its the industry's low peak season every year. The 2-bedroom units are now $2600ish starting. Yes, its the bay area. And yes this is Burlingame. Of course its going to be costly. Grew up in Millbrae. It's relatively safe compared to other places. It seems like it's a good place to stay before we look into buying a home. My only concern is the elevator- what is the safety record/ certification for Northpark's apartments? My partner is a disabled veteran so the elevators are important to us. It's a hassle for people with limited mobility using wheelchairs. And since the first floor isn't the same as the lobby floor, it's discouraging to be active in/out and about. We'll see what happens when we move in. read more

Northpark staff are the epitome of awful customer service. It must be a pre-requisite of the job or part of Equity residential training become the revolving door of new staff has been consistent for the past 6 years. They either ignore you completely or fail to listen or communicate with utter contempt. im currently in week 3 of invasive roof renovations . The constant drilling and banging makes my 3rd floor apartment unlivable. The apartment literally shakes to the point that the ceiling light caved in on my. The response I got: 'We've sent a notification regarding the roof repair work explaining the noise. We have the clubhouse available to use if it's too noisy for you and we can also reserve the conference room for you if you need more privacy during the day. ' Similar responses for the elevator being out of action 50% of the time, my car was towed from the leasing office because my space was blocked with construction costing me $500. Even though my car is registered here, and my husbands disabled placard was on display, no attempt was made to contact us and they never even responded to acknowledge the incident. so if you enjoy hostile customer service, rent raises of $200-$300 each year, don't mind living in a construction zone where half the buildings have chronic bedbug/ cockroach infestations .. not to mention any deliveries getting stolen or your vechile broken into - then Northpark is the perfect place for you! read more

They are rude, and unhelpful The package room is a joke, I would say I only received about one in three packages. When I asked the office what to do, they say contact the sender. Yeah, because it's the senders fault that the package room is not secure. The rent prices are ridiculous, and they raise it $200 to $300 every month. To the point where you were paying a lot more than someone just moving in. Which is bullshit. They don't seem to care about their current tenants or if they are happy. Resident relations is very responsive here on Yelp, but not when you write to them as a tenant. Apparently Northpark management do have a fast response time. For example when you leave your car with the emergency light in a designated loading zone to bring up your groceries and then they call a tow truck to get it towed away under 10 minutes. Who knew, the cops do!! Called the cops thinking my car was stolen and the police officer told me they've been getting hundreds of complaints of the management team using towing company's to their benefits. How is it a place that's supposed to bring you peace, brings you chaos! I'm begging you the appliances don't work, the management team dosent help, elevators always out and they shut off water with no advance notice to buildings. read more

For 3 years now my family and I have been dealing with black mold and it has affected us a lot. The lack of care and concern from management has made us more frustrated with our situation than anything we've experienced. The excuses that were made by management/maintenance were terrible, ranging from "It's cause of the pond" to "it's the tenants responsibility to fix the problem". During the 3 years, at least 3-4 times maintenance has occurred and there was no significant improvement, in fact it made it worse. Their methods of cleaning up/taking care of the environment is borderline useless as the chemicals made the mold grow more and the dehumidifier made the air more toxic than, mind you we found out that we were not allowed to be there with the dehumidifier running (maintenance did not tell us this, it was another tenant who was also dealing with the issue). There's a lot more to this but to keep it short: DO NOT RENT FROM THESE APARTMENTS! They don't care about you or your health, they're just here to bully, scam, cheat and manipulate people into giving them money and making them feel bad . Most, if not all, of the buildings are dealing with this deadly issue and there has not been any indication of change. I implore you to not take Building 5 #101 on Cadillac Way or any other room in the complex as you are asking for trouble and risking your safety read more

I've lived here for a year and have enjoyed it. The leasing agents Andrew and Vincent in the office were always helpful from the time I toured the complex until I turned in my notice to vacate. The maintenance team has been great. They always responded quickly and were kind and professional. The walls are pretty thick as I didn't hear my neighbors much at all. The freeway and Caltrain are close but I only heard them when my windows were open. The amenities were always clean and I never had anything stolen from the package room. Guest parking is next to impossible to find but that's not the apartments fault. I took one star off because my rent was raised $300+ at the end of my lease even though the current price for my floor plan was about the same as what I was currently paying. I asked the leasing consultant Gina about this and if I could move to a different apartment. She told me no and that I was only allowed to upgrade. She said she would put in a request with corporate but they always say no. I later found out she didn't. She wasn't very interested in helping me and was somewhat rude. Luckily I only dealt with her a few times. About a week later while I was waiting in the leasing office with a question I watched as another resident was able to downgrade the size of her apartment without a problem from a different leasing agent. I paid about $165-$200 for water, sewer, trash and water heating a month on top of my rent. They base it on square feet and number of people in the apartment. I was in a 1 bedroom with just me living in it. Which is a typical price for most apartments. The location is great. You can walk pretty much anywhere you need to go or take public transportation. I was happy here. Too bad the rent increase was insane. read more

I rented a studio in building 1, and had problems from the start with the fridge and heater not working properly, and roaches. The roaches came out of the electrical outlet. I had a baby roach crawl on me while I was in bed. Living with roaches was one of the worst experiences I have dealt with. My fridge only worked for my last 3 months. And they did nothing to try to make it okay. I just paid full rent and utilities the whole time. The management does not respond to my emails but the maintenance people are nice and try their best. The people around are very loud. It literally sounded like the person above me was constantly sawing wood and hammering nails into wood. There are rats in the trash and the trash is always full. the package room is also a mess and can take a while to find your package. Utilities in the beginning were around 150 and near the end it got close to 200 a month. At the end of my lease they wanted 300 dollars more for a lease renew, which I would believe most people do not have an extra 300 dollars for rent. My charges after I moved out was 900 dollars for cleaning, repainting and utilities. I moved to a new complex and my experience there is completely different in a better way. It is night and day. If you could, avoid this complex. read more

The moment I walked in to inquire about moving I was immediately helped. I had a lot of questions and the leading agent took the time to answer them. I was able to look at 3 different types of apartments. The grounds are very well maintained and inviting. The pools are well maintained and there is even a duck pond and a turtle. North Park is animal friendly. The move in costs were very manageable. When I moved in the apartment was clean and fresh. I'm very happy that I chose here to live. read more

I moved here recently and with only positive experience from the folks at the Sales/Admin desk when they giving you a warm welcome... that's it. Leasing apartment here is the cold splash to your face... first, apartment was promised being ready for you to move it. Guess what - no way: after 2 weeks since day one I moved in, I requested bathtub to be restored, it was not sanitary safe to step in to take a shower; carpet was never cleaned and I had to request service (which was done purely). The "Pop-corn" ceiling was never cleaned and still has thick cover of decades dust on it... I asked 3 times to resolve it, they came photographed and told me, they are performing "pop-corn" ceilings removal at the property and will talk to regional manager about my apartment ( I had no furniture yet delivered, so, it was perfect timing to perform such work)... no response, and no action. Their technicians are performing job without having professional licenses, The one came to the apartment and had no idea what was he doing - electrical outlets in the living room are not working, and can only be powered when you turn on lights in kitchen(!!!!). He left telling me Manager will come and deal with it. Guess what, service request was closed next day!!! Parking garage is like a garbage room - cleaning service ever done!!! Elevator door on 2nd floor in Building 4 has not been not functioning for more than 3 months... nobody cares. DO NOT RENT HERE !!! TENANT SERVICE IS TERRIBLE !!! read more

I hope they keep up the work Pros: swimming pool, in unit laundry, elevator, covered parking, close to 101, close to trail, close to Broadway ave, gym ( which is closed unfortunately due to covid) Cons: roadworks on 101 little noisy during quiet hours, Dogs are allowed (my personal con not everyone's), carpet throughout apt ( needed floor at dining area at least). I lived at North Park in the 80's when Elaine, Victor and Ann were management/leasing. I moved back in for 6 months and everything has changed. Living here was awful we had constant issues with packages going missing, health hazards and dishonest business practices once we decided not to renew our lease. Listed below is a breakdown: 1. This property has huge mold issues. During the winter months the apartment that we lived in was constantly moist and as a result we had mold and the smell of mildew develop primarily in the bedroom. When we asked the apartment to address it they said that it was a reoccurring issue but there was really no way for them to fix it. They suggested we buy a dehumidifier, which they would not reimburse us for. The mold also spread to my mattress. 2. The constant smell of mildew in the halls and apartment. Due to the moisture issues within the complex the hallways smelled like a sewer system 3. Cockroaches: Once spring rolled around the issue with mold went away, however we had a cockroach infestation follow. Cockroaches thrive in moist, warm environments which the apartment in spring time provided. 4. Dishonest business practices: Once we moved out we were charged miscellaneous fees on top of our security deposit. I have yet to get a clear breakdown of what these fees are. All I receive is an email response saying that these are charges assessed by the accounting department and if I do not pay they will send me to collections. MOLD! They mask the smell of mold emanating from your bathroom, by applying "pet resistant-deodorizer" & blaming "new carpet smell." Only to realize after a few weeks when the "deodorizer" diminishes, it's the petri dish, science project, mold infested, currently growing, ruining your personal belongings, and jeopardizing your health! When submitting a service request to look into the visible mold & very strong, disgusting odor of mold in the bathroom, we were told in so many words, we were to blame for the "odor causing smell." Recommending us to "better ventilate the apartment and the problem would be resolved." We've never been so appalled & offended by such a disturbing excuse. After repeated request, a 2nd visit from the maintenance technician, and another misinterpreted message relayed to office staff, the blame once again was placed on us! We had no choice to move all personal belongings from the bathroom & only used the shower & toilet, having to use alternative space in apartment to get ready. Quite an inconvenience when you are paying nearly $3,000 a month to live in inhabitable environment. When we received an email to review our service request, we gave a 1 star. Only to receive an angered phone call from Claudio, (who called right after not answering the first call), followed by an almost threatening email as to why we only gave one star?! As, if!? We finally got physically ill, were disgusted by the gross hallways, that welcomed you home to the smell of rotting cheese & pet urine. Even our movers mentioned the "puke smell" was unbearable within the building. The garages were never ever cleaned. The trash, debris, and rodent activity, made us finally throw in the towel. I would not recommend living in this apartment building to my worst enemy. Save your money, time, and sanity, and take your hard earned money somewhere else. There are great finds out there. Be mindful of their creative language when asking direct questions & always go with your first instinct. If you think you smell a rat, you're not wrong! We ended up only staying not even 5 months. Forced to break lease fee, paying extra months rent, etc. When we did submit our 30 day notice, it was the quickest response we ever received from the office. They had no problem "throwing us out", so they can let the next sucker in. Oh yes, our neighbors who had moved in for no more than a month, moved within a day & we later found out had abandoned their apartment. As their notice & private information was on their door. Finishing up a 12 month lease in a studio at the edge of the property. Had a pretty fantastic experience! Highlights were the modern feel of the apartment, washer/dryer, and excellent sound proofing of walls and ceiling. For perspective, we are on the edge of Carolan and Cadillac way, so very close to broadway Caltrain. However, we are not bothered at all by the sound of the train passing. Commuting is quite easy: 10 min bike ride or free shuttle to millbrae station made it straightforward to get to SF for work. Community is beautiful to walk through and their gym is well-equipped which allowed me to cancel my existing 24-hour fitness membership. There is a really nice walk that takes you over the 101 via a bridge into a large field, dog park, and multiple trails including the bay trail. My fiancé and I would continue to stay if not for work-related reasons that required we move. Regarding a (minor) complaint: package center can only be accessed via a code and you have to rely on the diligence of the delivery person to scan your packages through the system which actually sends you the code. We've often not gotten a code, but usually someone in the office let's us in, or you can request a temporary code from the kiosk outside the package center. read more

I will preface this with a simple reality: Equity Residential is in the business of buying, holding, and selling residential properties. They are not in the business of making people happy. They are an investment group and we as residents are a particularly noisy way that they use to make their currently held properties pay dividends. I have tried for three years to make this place a home. I have been more than fair in giving Northpark a fair shake and I have been deeply disappointed in return. The only reason I agreed to the last 12 month lease is because my wife was 7 months pregnant the last time our renewal came up and the idea of a very pregnant lady doing a move was a terrible idea. Recently, the carpet and walls in the common hallways were redone. We got new carpet in a slightly different shade of grey and a brand new coat of slightly different beige on the walls. There was obvious mold damage in the halls when the carpet and crown moulding were taken out but it was not addressed. I think this is related to what I noted in a prior review with major water damage done to the structure and how our quality of life was ruined for a month because it was not well managed. We have a dog, and pay additional pet rent. The pet rent tripled at some point and we were promised that there would be new pet amenities like a fenced dog run and a dog washing station. None of this has happened and when I asked the front office about it they treated me like I was crazy. Rent control was on Burlingame's ballot. It failed. I was in favor of it. Equity Residential donated $100,000 toward the No On Rent Control campaign. That is to say, Equity took the money I paid them in rent and used it to fund something that I was against and was not in my best interest. Thanks, Equity, for screwing me so blatantly. This place continues to be a crash pad for aviation people, and it always follows the same story arc: new group of people move in, new group of people party at weird hours, new group of people get noise complaints, new group of people stop liking each other and devolve into drama, crash pad goes quiet. If you tour the property look up into the windows. Lots of bunk beds and those aren't for people with kids. It's flight attendants. The place is also disorganized. We were written up twice for using our parking spot as a storage unit when our parking spot is empty (except for a car). Turns out they didn't actually correctly note which spot was ours when we moved in. With the automated package room opening, the front office lost its last reason to have to talk to members of the community. Not only has the staff turnover skyrocketed, but they are so completely disengaged from the community that it feels completely unmanaged. The only way you know there is management at all is when you get emails about them enforcing wildly unpopular policies that just make people madder and don't actually make us happier, safer, or more comfortable. When I moved in my leasing agent lived a building over and the maintenance guy personally knocked on our door and introduced himself. That kind of personal experience is long gone here. And I know exactly what Northpark is going to do about all this: write a form "We're sorry you didn't like -specific complaint-, we strive not to -get yelled at for specific complaint-" reply to this post and if it's especially offensive I'll get a nice email from the community manager asking what it'll take to get me to take the review down. HONEST PRO's and CON's REVIEW.... PRO's: great location, conveniently located right off 101, close to Old downtown and Downtown Burlingame, great gated property especially if you have a dog and want to let them play with other dogs within the community, met some friendly neighbors in all buildings, pretty quiet for the most part depending on where your specific apartment is located, nice pond area. And now the CON's: Just simply stay away from this old run down complex. The package room is an utter disaster and you will often spend 15-30 minutes looking for your packages. This is due to the delivery folks like amazon or UPS etc...However, as with most things that go wrong at Northpark, the management crew on site are useless. The service team, although friendly, are amateurs. If they respond to a service request they do a poor job. There are rats all over the grounds. Some alive. Some dead. And if dead, they stay there for weeks even if you tell the staff there there is a dead rat in a specific location. Orkin is there literally every single week. Not for the rats. Probably the roach problems that people have told me about. Not just in one building either. Someone told me they pulled the stove out when they were taking a tour of the place and there were roaches!! In a vacant apartment that they were trying to lease!! 4 different people from 4 different buildings told me about roach problems. The elevators are old school and whoever designed the door location of the elevator on lobby floor and the door to the garage is a bafoon. STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE EVEN IF THE PRICE IS RIGHT. BELIEVE ME!! Other communities within about 10 miles of this dump exist. They are nicer. Bigger. Rates are competitive. Buildings are newer. Locations are better as well. read more

Northpark Apartments - Apartments Near Me - Burlingame, California

This apartment complex is not safe. The California Building Code (CBC) stipulates stair railings should be spaced at four inches or less. The railings on the stairs at Northpark are between 5 1/2 inches and 8 1/2 inches. In response to Jennifer: Yes, management did respond. They put up chicken wire on the stair railings and raised my rent by 16% to pay for it. The stairs are still not safe and are not to code. Do you know why? Because the greedy corporate bastards that you work for will not spend any money until someone gets hurt. Keep raising the rent and putting up chicken wire. Leasing agents just sit in the office instead of walking around the property learning about their residents or looking to see what can be improved on the property. Maybe they're chained to those chairs because I've never seen them get up? They sit behind a wall that you have to peer over to see them. If anyone is reading this from the office, get up and go walk to the pet waste stations. The bags always need to be refilled. Always. When those bags run out, you have poop all over the property. Stop sending those stupid emails telling residents to pick up after their pets. It does nothing!! Dogs bark all day long, even when their owners are home. Also, whoever it is they've put in charge to write these emails is in desperate need of a business communications course and a basic tutorial on how to use spellcheck. Agents decided residents have to get a guest pass and that you have to provide them with your guest info. It is now a royal pain to have a guest on the property. Cars without a guest pass get towed. Classy, really classy. If you insist on living here, you've been warned. A 12 month lease will feel like an eternity. And you can count on your monthly rent to go up at least $200, at renewal. It would be one thing if this place was well-maintained and the staff was pleasant; however that is most definitely not the case. Long-time residents have left and there's a constant churn of people moving in and right back out. Look in the garages at the exposed pipes and the wear and tear on them. These are old. Many leak, constantly. I've given up trying to report these leaks, because I'm fairly certain maintenance is aware of the leaks and just doesn't care because management doesn't care. Walk through the garages. There are mini lakes in all of them. The interiors of the apartments are just as run down as what you see in the garages. Mold issues, appliances that are run down are given band aid repairs instead of replaced, and the paint job for the hallways is a joke. If you take a tour, look at the multiple paint colors in the doorframe while the door is open, as this place had the painters paint the door frames while they were closed. The paint around the doorknobs and locks look like they were painted by someone who hadn't quite mastered the use of a paintbrush. The package receiving room is a total pain to use. FedEx, UPS, and USPS don't scan packages so you don't get a notification. You have to go to the leasing office to have one of the agents "look". If your package does get scanned and you do get a code, you'll probably find that the keypad to enter said code is offline (or ripped from the wall), and you have to go through the leasing office to ask for your package. Initially, there was a camera mounted to the wall but someone tore that from the wall too. This is can't possibly be an ADA-compliant property. The elevators are always broken. I don't even know how someone in a wheelchair could even use an elevator since you have to pull the heavy door open first. Why haven't these been updated?! The crash pads filled with flight attendants is such a pain. These people come and go at all hours, oftentimes taking phone calls in the hallway since there's probably flight attendants trying to sleep in the apartment. Well, we can hear you and we don't want to hear your loud calls either. I can't wait until the property that's being built next door is up and running. Maybe then Equity will be forced to hire a real team that knows how to manage an apartment complex to compete with the market. Looking forward to seeing many empty units here at Northpark very soon. They'll wish they treated residents better. (The occasional bbq effort doesn't count by the way. Let's be real. STOP!!! writing reviews if you don't live here. Yeah the sales people are nice but they are getting paid to do so. There is a reason why there are too many bad reviews. First of all, it is freaking expensive and on top of that you will have to pay share utilities plus your regular PG&E. In other words, add at least anything from $170 to $200 for a 1 bedroom apartment on top of your rent. Secondly, security is a total joke. Since there is no security on site all "your" amenities are been used for the Entire FREAKING NEIGHBORHOOD. Swimming pool and hot tub looks like a high school reunion or a public pool most of the time, bathrooms are just disgusting. Thirdly, good luck finding a parking spot. I have seen cars parked for more than 2 months at the same spot and nobody says anything. This place is AWFUL!! Do your self a favor and don't move here!! I'd give them a negative score if I could. The package room is a joke. It's disorganized and can take forever to find deliveries. I had my packages stolen twice. They don't have a video camera there and the door doesn't work well. They don't care. My apartment was not clean when I moved in. The washing machine had some kind of gross slime in it, as did the dish washer, and the fridge smelled disgusting. They cleaned it when I requested, but this shows that they don't really do any kind of thorough cleaning before people move in. Although the sound between apartments is ok, it's horrible with hall noise. You can hear EVERY little sound someone makes in the hall very clearly in the apartments. There was a family that lived down the hall from me was very loud very early in the morning. I paid to have my apartment professionally cleaned when I moved out. It was spotless. The charged me hundreds of dollars for supposed cleaning. The pictures they sent of "dirty" walls and floors showed spotless walls and floors. They failed to give photos of the supposedly dirty faucets and microwave. They said the stove, which I NEVER used (I never even unpacked my pots and pans; I live off take out and frozen food), was dirty. If it was, it's because they didn't clean it before I moved in. Again I paid A LOT of money to have the place cleaned upon moving out because I had been warned that they would rip me off when I moved. The cleaning charge should have been $0. DO NOT TRUST THIS COMPANY!! THEY ARE SHADY AND WILL RIP YOU OFF!! read more
