Extremely nice, fast, and kind. I don't get that "we're trying to rip you off" feel. Plus there is an awesome dog in the waiting room.

I knew I needed an oil change but had been dragging my feet because I hate going to places that always try to talk you into some other service that your car "needs", when it really doesnt. I stopped and I was put in a work Bay almost immediately. Once I pulled in, Jonathan was very helpful in finding out what I needed to have done. After telling him only my oil, they went to work. As they did safety checks, they also checked my tires and fluid levels. After all of this their computer shows them what is good and what may need to be done. This is where I dred the salesperson because it gets old, but he didn't try to sell me anything! All he did was tell me what was recommended and he also answered the questions I had about some services I am looking to have done with income tax. After my experience here I will definitely be back. I was in and out within 15 mins and never felt pressed to buy more services. They also report to Carfax, so it helps keep track of repairs and services done to your car.

They fix the problem and don't find new ones in the process. AAA approved. Good service. Helpful, respectful guys. I stopped in here one morning about a puddle I was seeing underneath my car. They couldn't get me in the garage that day, but Scott came out and looked around to make sure I was good to drive around. Came back in a day or two later and they got my car up, did the work I asked for, inspected a few things, and gave me a good price. They even suggested I come back in a week later to make sure there were no more leaks. They took a look at no charge.

They took my car apart and told me about 4 different things that needed to be fixed that had nothing to do with what is wrong with it. They priced it at $497, and when we told them we didn't have that much to spend because we already knew what was wrong and what it should cost us they told us it would still be 3 hours before our car was ready because they had to "put it back together" and the dude working on it was on a lunch break... so without even getting any service done they took 4 hours and charged us $119 just to tell us what the alleged "problem" was... they have no idea what they are doing and they are very rude and lazy.

After arriving at Pep Boys and having them checked out. The mechanic said one of the tires had a screw in the sidewall and wasn't repairable. So after speaking with the manager I went ahead and agreed to a replacement tire. Total price $131.34. I'm standing outside the bay when the mechanic then asks about the wheel lock. He still couldn't find it even though I said twice it was in the glove compartment. Then he lets me into the Bay Area to retrieve the wheel lock. Then I thought to take a picture of my low tire. After standing there for awhile I noticed there was a large screw laying in the parking lot right in front of the Bay Area. A few minutes later out comes the manager and asks why I'm taking a picture of her mechanic. I let her know I did not take a picture of her mechanic. I took a picture of my tire and also the screw laying in front of the bay. Also, I said to her I'm too old to be looking at young boys. Really she thinks a 50 something is after a teenager or 20 something. Get real. When I asked for corporate's phone number she said 1-800- Pep Boys. No one answered. After paying for the tire I let her know I would not return to that location. " Tires are expensive" quoted from the mechanic who installed the tire. If you plan on going to the Pep Boys at 106 Market Place Blvd, Knoxville Tennessee be on the lookout for large screws laying in front of the Bay Area.

I worked for this company for 6 months and finally quit! Take it from someone on the inside, take…read moreyour vehicle anywhere else! These people would screw up a 3 car funeral! They tell you that you need repairs that are not needed. They leave your drain plug loose. I warned the current manager charge a customer for a fuel system service that he knew hadn't been done. Nearly had to pull a customer off of him for quoting a customer $695 for repairs and when the man came in the manager told him his bill was almost $1,200. This was an everyday occurrence! The regional manager told me he didn't care what we sold customers but to just sell anything! He said selling something kept the Boogie Man away! The new regional manager told me to put my Big Boy Pants on and go sell something! I almost curb stomped him! They pad their reviews to cover up the truth! I documented over 15 instances of wrong doing and misrepresenting repairs. The icing on the cake was the Quote, Lead Technician was regularly found asleep in a car or underneath a vehicle. I even have several pictures of him snoozing! They left the oil drain plug loose on the son of a UT Quarterbacks truck and it lost 2 quarts of oil and put Dawn dishwashing liquid in the wiper reservoir and caused it to clog up and quit Before he made it home! Trail of Tears here people! The truth is what it is. All they want to do is ring their cash register at your expense! If you don't believe me ask the people that live in the 37922 area code.

I usually have a great experience at Northshore. I even sent my children there for oil changes when…read morethey were in town. This will be a long post, but only for providing the full story to explain my rating: Previously, I went to the Solway or Farragut locations; but, after having a horrible experience at the Farragut location, I decided to try Northshore. Every experience I had until last week was great. I went in for my last oil change on the 5 pack deal. Once the oil change was complete, I left and in less than 1 mile the check engine light appeared (it was not on previously). I figured I could take my vehicle back for a quick check. The technician came back and said they cleared the code since they could not figure out the issue. I drove off and this time at approximately the same distance (less than 1 mile), not only did the check engine light appear but the oil pressure light, as well. I drove my car a little further thinking that the lights might turn off. They did not. I went back to the Northshore location and told them that I now have 2 lights that appeared. I was then told that the last location that performed the oil change "manipulated" an oil filter to fit my vehicle and I also had the wrong oil filter housing. I immediately told them that their location was the only one to change the oil in my vehicle since the oil filter housing was replaced in Jan 2023 and I had experienced no issues until NOW. They told me to take my vehicle back to the shop that originally replaced the oil filter housing; however, I did not feel safe driving the vehicle with both the check engine and oil pressure lights illuminated. Brandy (location manager) called a tow truck for me as transportation to the other shop (located in Corryton, TN). When the other shop looked at the housing they immediately found out it was CRACKED!!! I called the Northshore location back to reveal the issue. Brandy was not there so I spoke with another associate. He told me that if I brought the vehicle back they would fix it for "free". I told this associate that I no longer trust their shop and that I also believe they cracked the housing (which is why I believe the lights appeared after driving away from their shop) and that they should have checked more closely before I left. He told me the regional manager (I believe his name is Kevin) would call me later to discuss. I can not confirm that he ever called because, if he did, I did not answer nor did he leave a voice mail asking me to call him back. I hope this information helps someone from experiencing the same issues I had at this shop last week. Problems like this can be made at any mechanic. I should have figured if I was allowed to drive away without without being told about the "manipulated" filter then other serious issues existed since the check engine and oil pressure lights were illuminated. I wish I had taken photos of the "manipulated" oil filter as evidence. I also wish I had looked closer at the filter housing before I left this location. I probably would have noticed the cracked housing and not had to spend almost $1000 to fix a problem that NEVER SHOULD HAVE HAPPENED!!!
