I brought my 2010 Honda Civic here in hopes to get it fixed quickly knowing that it was the vacuum hose that needed to be fixed due to a leak. They took my car apart and told me about 4 different things that needed to be fixed that had nothing to do with what is wrong with it. They priced it at $497, and when we told them we didn't have that much to spend because we already knew what was wrong and what it should cost us they told us it would still be 3 hours before our car was ready because they had to "put it back together" and the dude working on it was on a lunch break... so without even getting any service done they took 4 hours and charged us $119 just to tell us what the alleged "problem" was... they have no idea what they are doing and they are very rude and lazy. read more

My SUV barely rolled in and died due to a transmission failure in front of their shop. I took a chance on replacing the part and doing service with them and have nothing but praises to say. Owner, Patrick, as well as rest of staff communicated very well throughout the process- in fact better than salvage company and even found a better deal on the part. The process took longer than expected solely due to salvage company delays. Service Street was on their game every time I called for updates and helped expedite the process faster than other locations might have. Please be aware the previous owners sold out. New owners are a few state chain operation that works on commission and upselling. Learned the hard way. Had car towed there was told the car ran good was ready for pickup. Tried starting car after paying 800.00, didn't start after they installed a STARTER SOLENOID. Was told the high price was because of disposal fees and labor.Its people like this that ruin the excellent reputation built over years for simple greed. Ask some of the folks in halls.I know I was taken because I have put these car parts on in thirty minutes or less when I was younger and also the mark up on the Solenoid was 110.00 plus disposal fees. When they said you need a STARTER we can analysis it, that's when I had the car towed. This is a older vehicle,which was maintained by the previous owners perfectly. Being a older vehicle you would maybe think it would be easier for them. Also, these are in no way shape or form certified mechanics like the sign still says on the building,in my neighbors opinion. My daughter and I were in town on our way to moving her into college. The day before we left for South Carolina, I noticed a vibrating, thumping noise from the front of my car as I accelerated. It kept getting worse, and I was afraid to drive it for 6 hours the next day to South Carolina, so I took it into Cedar Bluff Auto Care. I found them on Yelp, and liked their reviews. As I soon found out, the reviews were right. The owner and I (Doug I believe is his name) bonded over both being from the DC area. He was as friendly as can be. He had one of his guys test-drive my vehicle, and at first, he thought I needed to replace the hub on one of the front wheels. He came back later and kind of laughed, saying the hub was fine, and instead the lug nuts on 3 of the four wheels were loose. He said if I had driven to South Carolina instead of coming in first, he probably would have seen me on the news. He then had his guy tighten the lug nuts and didn't charge me a dime for it. He could have stuck with having to replace the hub, and I wouldn't have known any different. But instead, he was totally honest and didn't charge me for a repair I didn't need. If I'm ever back in Knoxville and need any services for my vehicle, I won't have to check Yelp again. I'll definitely be going back to Cedar Bluff Auto Care. read more

I consider myself a very fair person and I'm someone who listens to solid advice...usually. I was told by my parents to avoid using Cedar Bluff Auto Care because the prices would be high, however, very positive things were mentioned about tire purchases. My Mom said she always buys her tires here because, "He's got good tires at reasonable prices." I didn't need to purchase tires, however, I did have my 2004 Saturn Vue inspected and was told that I needed a catalytic converter, which I priced to be in the neighborhood of about $200 (http://www.partstrain.com/store/details/Saturn/Vue/Davico/Catalytic_Converter/2004/DAV19121.html?ptc=S1171391678W45d204bec356b&ptdasaturnvue20022006davicodav19121104caco). When I received a phone call from the owner, I was told that they would be replacing the spark plugs and wires (prices not mentioned at this time) and was asked if it would be okay to replace the catalytic converter, as this was the apparent cause of my engine trouble. He mentioned that the price would be over $350, which I thought was steep. He assured me that the work would be covered for the life of the ownership of the car. I have no plans to replace my vehicle in my immediate future, so I gave him the green to proceed. I then went to pick up my vehicle and was met with complete surprise at my bill, which totaled over $500. Here's a break down of the parts & labor cost: $25 for replacement gas cap (my car had one when I delivered it to them) $48 for spark plugs (not high performance) $78 for spark plug wires $388 for catalytic converter I paid the bill after having a brief discussion with the owner about the fact that I had a gas cap (these attach to the car itself) when I delivered it to the shop. I was feeling very raw about the entire situation when I left the shop, but gave them the benefit of the doubt. Less than 24 hours later, my check engine light reappeared. This time it was my rear O2 sensor, which I was told could have been replaced at the time of the initial repair, but wasn't. This repair would be an additional $218. Advance Auto has the rear O2 sensor for less than $100 (http://shop.advanceautoparts.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/subcategory_Emissions_-49997365_-49997327_10151_10051_-1___) Does this mean that I would have been charged over $100 for a 5 minute install? I think so... Another perk of this experience, the seat and the floorboard were not protected from oil, which was all over my carpet and side panel. And my battery housing has a cover, which was apparently just thrown back on top of my engine and my hood was closed down upon the randomly placed battery cover. Wow, this carelessness speaks volumes to me. I can speculate and guess that I was treated this way because I'm a woman, but I don't want to play that card. I just think that this automotive center offered me a poor customer service experience, which was overly priced. And Mom's do know best. Listen to the sage advice of your parents. read more

I was looking at the jeep at a gas station looking for the cause of my lack of antifreeze. A man walked up to me and asked if I needed help. I explained my problem. He leaned over the hood and pointed to the generous stain of radiator fluid around the water pump. He told me that he worked at the shop here and he could be here at 0730 to fix it. Unfortunately, I had to be in FL tomorrow. He said I could continue to pour fluid in the reservoir and suggested I get the pump changed ASAP. He then had pitty and, even tho it was 5pm and the shop closed at 530, he stayed to place the new pump immediately without charging me a premium price. It has been my only experience there and I will probably never go back, as I live hundreds of miles away, but they bent their schedule to accommodate mine, they did the job right, and they charged what I would expect a water pump to cost. This isn't one of those sleek, slippery car places that has a big fancy waiting room and plush couches. They get you in and get you out. They fix the problem and don't find new ones in the process. AAA approved. Good service. Helpful, respectful guys. I stopped in here one morning about a puddle I was seeing underneath my car. They couldn't get me in the garage that day, but Scott came out and looked around to make sure I was good to drive around. Came back in a day or two later and they got my car up, did the work I asked for, inspected a few things, and gave me a good price. They even suggested I come back in a week later to make sure there were no more leaks. They took a look at no charge. read more

I went into Cedar bluff auto care recently because my car was having trouble steering. I thought something was wrong with the power steering but turns out I was completely wrong. There was a belt that needed tightening and since then my car has had no issues steering at all. The price was extremely reasonable as well. I expected to pay $100+ but didn't even spend $50. Everyone was extremely friendly as well. I'll definitely be going back here for all of my auto care needs. read more

After Fisher Tire just about ruined our car, the guys here were able to get it fixed and now our car is running like a dream. Husband and I were traveling and hit a ladder in the middle of the road which knocked something off of the bottom of our car and was dragging. We needed a quick fix and they got us in and out very fast! Did not over charge or try to take advantage of our situation as I feel a lot of places do. Also overheard him on the phone with another customer saying something like "I won't charge you for that". So seems very genuine, fair, and won't take advantage and try to over charge. I was visiting Knoxville and my pick-up truck broke down. I had it brought to Cedar Bluff Auto Care because it was walking distance from my hotel. I suspected a fuel delivery issue, so I asked them to check the fuel filter and fuel pump. They came back with a $1K+ estimate for changing fuel filter, a diagnosed bad fuel pump, and things like throttle body cleaning, muffler bearings, blinker fluid, and other bogus charges. I asked for a breakdown of parts and labor. Their part cost was $400 for the fuel pump. I found the fuel pump for $150 down the street at Autozone, bought it there myself, and asked them to install the pump. I got the truck back, and drove it a few hours home. During the drive, I discovered a serious fuel leak from the tank. I took the truck to my trusted mechanic. He dropped the fuel tank and inspected their work. He showed me the fuel tank and the leak. The original problem was an electrical problem-- the ground wire for the fuel pump had lost contact due to rust. They spliced the wire, which allowed the fuel pump to start working again. They did not replace the fuel pump. When working on the tank, they damaged a fuel line, which caused the fuel leak. So-- they tried to charge me for unnecessary services. They lied about the cause of the problem. They tried to overcharge me for parts. They did not perform the work that they invoiced me for. They created additional problems while doing so. I was advised by AAA to take my car to this Vendor when the Alternator died on Friday before Labor Day. My first shock was when we arrived to drop off the vehicle the hours on the door stated they closed on Saturday and Sunday and also Monday for the holiday. Tuesday they called and said my car needed an altenator and it would cost $698. I thought it was a little expensive so I went to Napa site and for a refurbished alternator it was approximately $300. I called back and told them I thought they were overcharging for the alternator and Doug told me they didn't buy their parts over the Internet. End of story Cedar Bluff Auto Care charged me $696.48 for a job I could have had done at any other garage for $550. I was totally ripped off by this Vendor. I would never go back or recommend this Vendor to anyone I know. read more

I left my vehicle there on December 9 because it would not start. It sat all day and was not looked at until about an hour and a half before closing time. Then I get a quote for upwards of $600 for a battery and alternator and labor. Obviously I did not accept it. As it turns out, a friend and expert mechanic examined it and the problem was only the battery and a terminal. Advance Auto confirmed there was no problem with the alternator. So, by not choosing Cedar Bluff Auto Care to do the work, and much of it unnecessary, I saved close to $500. read more

These guys saved me. I was 8 hours into a 17 hour road trip and had car trouble. They worked very hard to get my car fixed before closing time so that we could get back on the road. They had to try a couple of different options to get the job completely finished, but they got it done. And, the cost was really reasonable.
