My first bad experience with Northside Ford happened when my insurance company suggested I use their repair facility to fix my car. Some items were stolen out of my car and the body repairs started to come undone while I was driving. Northside sent someone out to my office to finish the repair work while I waited. I decided then to never go to Northside Ford again. However, fate, and COVID shortages got in the way of my plans to stay far away from Northside Ford. Recently my wife's Ford Edge was totaled in a wreck and because of a vehicle shortage the only place we could find a car was at Northside Ford. When buying the car I expressed my concerns with their service from back in the day, and the sales person convinced us if we ever had trouble with service they would take care of it. With the assurance of improved service in the future we bought the car from Northside Ford and paid for the extra warranty coverage. Then my wife's new car was recalled for some reason. Additionally, it had a burning smell coming from the engine through the air vents. This was also something we experienced with the Ford Edge, but the Edge got wrecked before we could take it in to get it fixed. When we turned my wife's new car in for service she asked them to check into the strange burning smell . When the recall service was complete they said they could not find the source of the burning smell and asked for us to test drive it with them. This was strange to me because there were more than a few complaints about a burning smell associated with these cars and I thought, how could the Northside Ford service department not know about this issue and what possible issues could cause the smell? When my wife test drove it with George, (the service manager/representative?) he said he could smell it and knew what the cause was. He then told her it was just a design problem, said it could not be fixed, and sent her home. I went to Northside to follow up. While there George told me a different story. He said it could me the issue he told my wife about, but that it could also be other problems causing the smell. However, he said, his service department could not locate the source of the problem. I asked him if it could be either a leak of some sort, an electrical problem, a bad blower, etc. He agreed it could be one of those problems but they could not find out if any of those were an issue. I asked George for the details on the work they did when they looked to find the source of the smell. George, said he could not find it and would not give me the details I asked for. I asked him to put what he was telling me in writing. He said he would check with his manager and see what he could give me. George kept trying to tell me that is just how the car is. As expected, George never got back with me to give me anything in writing about the work they did to locate the trouble, or his "diagnosis" of "that is just how the car is". I took the car in to a different facility and they said there is definitely an electrical burning smell, but we have to set up an appointment to get the warranty work done. We are waiting for the appointment to find out. The service at Northside Ford is terrible. I would recommend no one buy their cars from Northside Ford and avoid taking their cars to the Northside Ford service center for any kind of repairs. read more

I feel robbed and insulted by NORTHSIDE FORD. $233 per hour for labor, my car was there almost 2 weeks, AND I get talked down to by multiple service advisors! I took my Ford Escape in because the FIXD Bluetooth OBD-II reader gave a warning about the wheel speed sensors malfunctioning, which stops the Anti-lock Brake System (ABS) from operating properly. My Escape did NOT show a check engine light or message on the dash. I had to go round and round with 2 (!) service advisors to explain what the OBD-II reader said, and I even showed them my screenshots from the FIXD app with specific error codes. They were not interested in anything I had to say or what the FIXD app said. I had to agree to pay for the diagnostic with their machine for them to agree to take in my car, but they then told me they couldn't even plug the OBD-II reader in for a week, but I had to leave my car at NORTHSIDE Ford until they got around to plugging in the machine. 5 working days later (Am I supposed to be grateful?), they finally got around to plugging in their little machine and GOT THE EXACT SAME CODE that I told them about a week earlier! Of course they didn't have the parts on hand for a 2017 Ford Escape, so 3 more working days until they had the parts. I have an extended warranty, but NORTHSIDE FORD charged more labor hours than allowed by the extended warranty company for the diagnosis and the work. I had to argue with the service advisor and supervisor to get them to take 1/2 hour off the ticket ($116) for the diagnosis, and then they acted like they were doing me a favor, rather than following the industry standard. I have an aftermarket radio in the car, which has the HAZARD lights button on the trim around the aftermarket radio. I mentioned to the service advisor that the hazard lights button wasn't working. So...the service advisor has the technician "diagnose" the reason the hazard lights button isn't working. He didn't remove the trim and needed an hour to figure out exactly what I told them. "I think you have a problem with the aftermarket hazard lights button." And, that's another $233. I do have a few good things to say about NORTHSIDE FORD. 1. I was ONLY insulted and ignored by multiple service advisors. It could have been worse. 2. They proved that my $40 OBD-II reader IS JUST AS ACCURATE as their $1,000 tool. 3. A NORTHSIDE FORD certified FORD technician VERIFIED my untrained diagnosis of my vehicle's problems. That little bit of ego boost only cost $233 ! 4. They could have kept my car for longer than 2 weeks, so I guess that's a win! Go anywhere else. read more

Don't waste your time unless you don't mind spend $2400 more than their online listed price. They will lure you in with great pricing but once you start looking at numbers you will see that they have added nearly $2400 in protection packages which include paint sealant, tire protection and nitrogen for the tires. The protection package is non negotiable and not listed online of course. Some dealerships are starting to list low online pricing only to get you to the dealership and find out add on's bumping up profits for the dealer WILL NOT be removed. Also plan on them offering you the lowest value for your trade. There are better Ford dealers within a 25 mile radius, I highly recommend you don't waste your time. read more

Don't know where to start. I would have given them 0 stars if I could have. I took my F150 in for an oil change & Tire rotation and a 30K check up even though it only has 28K miles. The check up included Transmission Flush, Fuel Injection Service, Brake Flush, Coolant Flush & Air Induction Svc. Plus I had Emission sensor go bad. Well after 2 days of waiting & over $2000.00 they forgot to do an oil change I finally get it back and with in 250 miles the transmission started acting up. Never had an issue before I took it Northside Ford. They said I needed a new transmission for $8000.00 discounted to $7500.00. I said no and took it to Thousand Oaks Automotive. They fixed the problem. They put the correct fluid and calibrated to fix it. Called the service manager to explain the problem and he's supposed to be talking to the Service Director to see what they are going to do. Of course they have not gotten back with me. read more

Boy am I a dummy. Didn't read the reviews before dropping my vehicle here for service over a week ago. They have yet to look at my vehicle. I understand that a business can be busy; however, this seems excessive and a warning when I dropped my vehicle off would have been appreciated. I called the Service Manager Michael Rigdon and left a message for a return call. No luck there either. So after reading my fellow Yelper's reviews, I noticed a response to each one from a Northside Team Member and "Business Manager" Kath H. Kathy either thanked the reviewers for their praise or apologized for any negative experience and asked for a call at 210-535-9800 to discuss. Knowing Kathy H would want to discuss my service experience, I figured I would save her the effort and reach out first. I called the number provided. It was for Northside Ford but they do not have nor have they ever had a Kathy H working there. Hmmm... Curious, so I asked for the Business Manager and was transferred to Yvette's voicemail. Left a message for a return call. In fairness, Richard my service rep has called me everyday since dropping off the vehicle to let me know that they haven't looked at it yet and had no idea when they would. So there's that... So I called Richard to tell him I wanted to come get my vehicle. He was "with another customer" so I left a message. That was yesterday. No call. Obviously the customer he was with decided to wait on his vehicle. Hope he packed a lunch. Oh and Kathy H, shame, shame, everybody knows your n... Damn. UPDATE: Service Manager Michael Rigdon called and had a potential diagnosis based on his experience. With staff playing blue flu games and deadbeats claiming a living wage to stay home due to Covid unemployment this once quick response team has ground to a near stand still. After much inconvenience to our personal and work lives, my wife and I arrive at Northside right on time only to be told that it would be OVER 10 days before anyone could begin work on the vehicle. I have had other troubles with Northside from one other very long experience in which shoddy workmanship and a less than caring attitude to much of anything resulted in a 3 day job taking over 4 weeks. I tried one more time with this reservation only because they happen to be only a mile from my home....bad mistake. Remember, there is no education in the second kick of a mule. I was looking for a truck. I looked at their website and at auto trader. I found the same truck on both sites for $70,500. I called to make sure that there were no extra add-ons. I was told there were not. I made a 30 minute drive to see the sales person and as soon as she showed me the truck she told me that there was a $15,000 market adjustment. With the little add-ons, they wanted $88,000 for the truck. This is not the first time I've seen this at this dealership there is no need for market adjustments anymore. There are plenty of trucks. They lie and false advertise just to get you to show up. I went to my Ram dealership and purchased 2022 power wagon for the sticker price. It is what they showed on the Internet no extra add ons. If this is the way Ford lets the dealerships do business then I will never buy another Ford again. read more

I wish I could give zero stars. I feel like I was robbed. They charged me almost $700 for a diagnostic and replacing 1 oxygen sensor. I took my car in because it shut down on me and wouldn't run. One of the safety lights had come on and I had to have it towed in. They did a diagnostic (the same kind you can get for free anywhere else). They got an oxygen sensor code which I knew was an issue but it wouldn't cause my car to shut down. When they quoted me the price I assumed it was for replacing both sensors, which is my fault, I should have clarified. However, when I did some research I found that the price quoted would have been in the acceptable range for replacing 2 sensors, but to replace 1 would have been considerably less. I still don't know why the red safety light came on! They also have an attitude of indifference. I will NEVER go there again! read more

Looked at their online inventory and saw a car I was interested in, a 2020 Fusion SE Hybrid. Was given an online offer of 25667.97. Was then called by a sales rep, Wayne Alderman, who told me the real price was 26,606.90 because of "dealer add-ons" that are not shown on the web site. I then asked the point of the web site? I asked to speak to his manager, Robert Benavidez, who called me back. He said he had no problem with the online deception as long as as they could disclose it on your call. I'm not sure about you, but I hate having my time wasted. Mr. Benavidez and Northside Ford doesn't think so. Beware, it's a bait and switch to talk to you. The online price and what you pay are two different things. By the way, here's the disclosure from their web site: "Although every reasonable effort has been made to ensure the accuracy of the information contained on this site, absolute accuracy cannot be guaranteed. We only used this business because the repair shop was authorized by our insurance to fix a 2004 Volvo after it was vandalized. The more we work with this company, the more that goes wrong with this car. Each time we go to pick it up, there is another "accidental" repair that requires us to return the car for additional repairs- I'm beginning to feel as if the car is being sabotaged. They have collectively had my Volvo for nearly an entire month. Initially brought the car in to replace the sunroof and windshield wiper arms- this took two weeks! Upon pickup we noticed that the gas cap was missing and the windshield wiper blades needed to be replaced- minor issues that should have been caught before we were even called. Upon getting the wipers and gas cap replaced (which inexplicably, took nearly a week), we noticed that the passenger side headlight is popped out, the "splash guard" (undercarriage cover) and the windshield itself has now been replaced without any sort of explanation, nor was it documented on my paperwork. I suspect they broke it being careless. They have already been paid in full by the insurance company, so apparently they spend only their spare time and least-qualified employees completing the remaining work. Management has not been in contact about the ongoing issues, phone calls are not received or returned in a timely manner- expect someone to start every call with, "I was just about to call you!" read more

Warning: DO NOT TAKE YOUR VEHICLE HERE FOR SERVICE! We did not have a good experience at all. Our truck has been in the shop for over a month. We received a text that our truck was ready to be picked up. Showed up at 9:30am, checked out and paid the bill by 9:55am. We waited for 30 minutes for them to bring us the truck. The porter finally came to let us know he is having a hard time finding the truck because the tech didn't write down the location. I will say the porter was very nice and helpful. As we continued to wait, the women sitting outside came and asked us what we were waiting for. We told her we have been waiting over 30 minutes for them to bring us the truck. She then told us no we have not been waiting there for 30 minutes. Since she did not believe the customer, we pulled out the receipt from when we just paid the bill showing it's been well over 30 minutes. She then asked us to be patient with the porter because he is the only one and "kind of old". The porter finally brought the truck and explained the battery was dead and they had to jump start it. Why would the battery be dead when that was not the issue it was brought in for? We then asked the service advisor and he explained the battery does that when it sits for a long time. When we asked why did they not disconnect the battery knowing it was going to sit there for over a month, he responded, oh yea the tech should have done that. But your battery will be fine. If not, I'm sure you have a warranty on it. So now I'm at home with a dead battery. These people do not care. Everyone we talked to had an excuse and wanted to just to leave. We have a new car under full warranty. We brought the car in due to a Ford recall and for regular maintenance. In addition, our entertainment system failed (no longer produces sound) so we asked to have that looked at. We came in on the appointment date and were told that our car would be looked at in approx 10 days and that they will not cover a loner for us. We asked if we could bring back the car in 10 days to avoid 10 extra days in a rental and they said no. Said the rental car program is "gone now after COVID." Called Ford directly to place a complaint and told the same thing. Despite having a warranty we are now going to be paying weeks out of pocket for a rental. And worse, Ford told is if the entertainment system isn't able to be fixed they will not replace it. read more

SERVICE DEPARTMENT - "Streamlined~Courteous~Accomodating"... Had to drop off my 2016 Expedition for a Safety Recall. Dreading it, since their dealership is out on the Highway, and not very post drop off Bus/pedestrian friendly. But my Service advisor Jim Lingenhag offered to call me a courtesy shuttle to take me back to my front door, saving a long walk, and a two bus transfer. It made all the difference. At my age, convenience is almost as big as cost. There was also no hard sell for extra services that I sometimes sense from my closer nearby and regular family owned garage. The car was ready days earlier than expected, and Jim also asked if I needed a pickup without prompting. I didn't. But it's nice to know for next time. The rest of the service staff was also pre-emptive in assisting me, so I didn't need to "Prompt the encounter" as they say at Applebee's. All in all, just about as easy as it could be. I think I have a new service team. I just wish my other car was a Ford. Because looking back, the brand has been good to me as well. read more

This is the best Ford dealer in town for service if you have a fleet vehicle. When I heard my company was moving to an all Ford fleet program I was hoping all those years of picking on Fords were excessive and all of the horror stories were exaggerations... They were not. My 2020 Explorer's transmission cooling lines fell off at 3500 miles and it continues to have transmission issues. The Edge it replaced had electrical gremlins and fuel problems (it got something like 16 mpg at the end). Northside will have your vehicle for weeks and you will enjoy a good, long vacation from your Ford in a far superior rental car. I especially enjoyed the Challenger and the new Suburban. The Camry was mediocre and the convertible v6 Camaro was washboard stiff over every bump. My point is you'll have plenty of time to try them all while they're patching up whatever Ford you had towed into this place! Real talk though... the fact that no one can tell you what's going on with your vehicle besides the exact service advisor you turned it in to is tedious. And clean the fish tank and install a sump filter to manage the algae. Maybe revisit the old "one inch of fish per gallon" rule and also get them some snails? I just feel bad for the things. Sadly company wide we've had so many issues with the Fords we're moving to an entirely different fleet management company in 2021 and replacing all of them with Chrysler products (also kind of a roll of the dice these days). We only have 1 vehicle and they don't have loaners so we had to rent from their "in house" rental company. Unfortunately they still hadn't gotten to our vehicle 5 days later. At that point we had to pick up the truck because we couldn't afford to pay daily rental fees waiting for them to get to our vehicle. The day they told me my vehicle was to be completed, "the very next day" I was going on a trip out of town. I didn't think it was fair to have the rental at the airport for a week when my car was done, Michael Hempel called to let me know I could drop off the rental at the airport. Score one for Mike, he called me back with additional information. Go on my trip, gone a week, come back, no car, so I asked my wife for a ride to the dealership to get mine. Low and behold, they don't know why my car isn't done, it just isn't. It'll be 1-2 days, so they get me another rental car. (Which I will bring back up in a minute) It's another 4-5 days before the car is finished. Great, I'll come pick it up. So, just to ask, the Recall Notices, those have been changed out, and the oil change is done too, right? Guess what, they forgot. Guess you keep the rental another few days. The following week they call me again. Okay, I drop the rental off outside the collision centers door, keys in the ignition, and walk in. Tell the receptionist their car is outside, and Mike walks me out to my car. Do a walk-around, and guess what? There's a two to three inch scratch in the lens cap, wasn't like that before. I want that fixed as well. It's two weeks now, no callback but I have faith that Mike will call me back though. Here's the deal with the rental car you receive. I know the dealership has little to nothing to do with that but giving you a cheap model to keep the cost of the insurance lower, I understand. Here's my point, why wouldn't they put you in either a car as nice as yours or nicer? If you like it, you'll want to upgrade to a new vehicle more often. It's been a good while since I've been involved in a car accident and had a car repair [10+ years], but what stood out like most things since Covid is prices are up and service isn't what it used to be --- bare minimum effort, lackluster customer service. At a bare minimum, I'd expect a walk around inside a covered area away from the cold and rainy weather with the person assigned to you or someone from the shop with at least half-baked communications/customer skills or an interest in representing the establishment and telling you what they've done and maybe some tidbits where they went above and beyond, or why you might want to repeat business with them vs the less expensive shop across the street (Northside Collision Vs Northside Ford Collision). Before showing up, I called and confirmed my car was ready and let them know I was an hour away. I asked if I needed an appointment. They confirmed the car was ready and would let my service advisor know I was on my way. When I showed up at Northside Ford Collision to pick up my car, I told the lady at the front desk who I was, why I was there, and who the POC was who wrote up the estimate. She yelled to the nearby offices to Mike. Mike said he was "on a project" and asked if she could take the payment. After paying her, I asked if that was it. She said yes and gave me the car keys. Luckily the car wasn't too hard to find, it was cold and raining. What a different experience with Northside Ford Collision Repair and Enterprise Rental Car at the Northside Ford Dealership! I drove to the other end of the parking lot to Enterprise where I had left the rental car, and proceeded through the return process with them. What a difference! The young man was welcoming and asked if I was satisfied with the rental car and their service. He also asked if I wanted to accompany him on the walkthrough or preferred to wait inside with a hot courtesy beverage. Afterward, I was informed some fees would be returned to my credit card and encouraged to return should I ever need another rental or should I be in the market for a vehicle. When I got home, I received an offer to provide feedback regarding my experience. That's the type of review I like writing and one you can read about concerning my experience with Enterprise Rental Car next to the Northside Ford Dealership! Bottomline: My parting comment to Northside Ford Collision Management is to contact Noah at Enterprise and learn more about what customer service should be or to send their employees to a similar training program. There's more to earning business than slapping parts and paint on a car or giving/collecting rental car keys. A couple of weeks ago I purchased an F-250 from this dealership. The day I showed up I was immediately greeted by a lady asking what I was looking for. She was very pleasant and called a salesperson for me. She introduced me to Mickey and he was great! We walked the lot together and he was very informative and helpful. Despite the limited selection we were able to find a truck that worked for me. As he gathered all the paperwork for the truck and communicated with his Sales Manger he was very accommodating and respectful of my time. He even arranged for me to come back the following day to sign so that I didn't have to wait any longer at the dealership but introduced me to Frank before I left because Frank would be handling the paperwork moving forward. I showed up the following day to meet with Frank and get everything signed. Frank was very personable at first. As we started talking about the truck he said he had some great news! He said he got an interest rate that was lower than expected but said that the lower interest rate was based on me purchasing an extended warranty from him. He claims that Ford Credit had agreed to the lower interest rate because he told them I would buy an extended warranty. This seemed very strange to me that the two would be tied together. I questioned this and he seemed to get a little nervous but again confirmed that the lower interest rate was tied to the extended warranty. I told him I didn't need the extended warranty. I asked him to explain this further and to tell me the price of the extended warranty and he got very uncomfortable. He asked me to wait a minute and he left the office. After a few minutes he came back with his boss. His boss was very friendly at first but also didn't want to disclose the price of the warranty to me. He said he was going to help me out and made some adjustments on the computer. He said that they had gotten my payment even lower and showed me the new payment. I told him that I didn't care about the payment and I wanted to know what the price of the warranty was. He finally showed me the price and it was over $10,000 for the basic extended warranty. After I told him again that I didn't need it he made another adjustment and showed me that he lowered to $8,000. I again emphasized that I didn't need it and that I was concerned that the interest rate was tied to me purchasing the extended warranty. He deleted it from the computer and walked out of the office without saying anything. We proceed to complete the paperwork at the lower interest rate with no extended warranty. As I walked out Mikey walked over to thank me. I shared with Mikey about my experience with Frank and told him that I felt as if what Frank was doing was fraud. Mikey was concerned and said that he would address my experience. I would caution anybody who purchases a vehicle from this dealership to be careful with the finance department. Avoid this place! I went in with a trade after finding the car I was interested in online. The sales guy pointed to the car, and told me to go check it out. (no key was given) When I went into the show room, he talked to me about numbers in the lobby , no privacy was given to me when talking about the value of my trade in. No effort was given to try and get me into the car I wanted. No respect was given to me, even tho I was respectful and well qualified. After leaving this Ford dealership, I read the reviews and was shocked to learn I wasn't the only customer to feel this way. I have an open service since December for my 2016 explorer sport motor mounts. I went today for an oil change. I asked about the service and they send me to a different department. when I explain to them the situation, the lady told me that she couldn't get into the system and was going to get back with me. this happened at 7:00 AM . I call at 4:00 PM and was told they are still waiting on parts. . So much for costumer service or maybe is because is covered under warranty and they know they won't make the same amount of money on a service.!!!!! read more

Went to buy a new King Ranch F-150 and had already picked out the one I wanted. They showed me the wrong truck, the sales person did not know what she was talking about and when I called later to find out why they showed me the wrong truck, the sales manager hung up on me after I caught him telling me the wrong information about the truck I was wanting. read more

WOW. That's the least I can say. I drove all the way to Austin and felt defeated when they sold the Explorer the morning of my appointment that I had been looking at online. It was such a waste of time, but, it was for a reason. I drove back to San Antonio and straight to NorthSide and there it was. The Explorer I wanted was on the showroom floor waiting for me. I was warmly greeted by Shaq and right away he offered me food (Burger Boy, like are you kidding? :O SO GOOD). Anyway, I told him that's the Explorer I want and I'd like to make a deal. He went to the sales manager TWICE, the second time he came back and said "we have a deal." By that time my jaw is on the floor because I got the vehicle I wanted AT the price I wanted. I was in and out of the dealership within 2 hours. MIND. BLOWN. Save yourself the time and energy and give NS a visit! If you visit NS Ford, I 10,000% recommend Shaq. He listens and is patient. After the purchase he showed me around to the service dept technicians, parts manager, LITERALLY EVERYBODY so that when I came in for service, I'd know who to look for. I would totally do this experience again! And do you know what's the best part? I felt 0 pressure from Shaq. Usually I leave the dealships with a headache cause it's so much back and forth and disappointment, but not here! Why he isn't the sales team lead? Beats me cause he's awesome! read more

To clarify, this is for Quick Lane Ford, not the dealership Ford. There customer service has been always tolerable, but now I'm considering it as horrible. 1. Customer Service is unacceptable, while waiting for my oil chamber I notice 3 customers waiting to be attended and there was 3, not one, but 3 Service Techs that didn't even acknowledge these customers for at least 20 minutes. 2. My car was ready outside for at least 30 minutes and they didn't even call me up until I went forward( computers were malfunctioning) but at least let those customers waiting that there a slight delay. 3. MOST upsetting is that, please check your fluids. They didn't tip off the fluids like their suppose to. Had an incident a while back where the battery post and cables had corroded, they should've caught it when they check all the fluids and battery. I know, why continue to go back? Will, It's never costed me anything extra for their poor service but I will stop going from now forward. read more

Do not take any Ford car here for repairs! You would think we'd learn after multiple times! Today we were told we had to leave the truck for a week until they could get to it. Obviously, they don't need the business. It would better if they just said that on their website. They could add turnaround time on any big repairs or add a waiting list rather wasting an hour. read more

This review is for the service center at Northside Ford on San Pedro off 281 in SA, TX. I took my wife's vehicle, which we bought from there, in for a "recall." It sat there for 3 days until I was notified they did not have the part for the recall. I made an appointment for the service and when I dropped it off they said it would be ready the next day. My advisor offered no explanation or responsibility. She just said you can leave here over the weekend or bring it back next week. There is a lack of communication within the service department that makes the customer experience a nightmare. After I wrote a review concerning this at Ford's request, I received an email back stating they could not post my review due to "whatever" guidelines. Big surprise!!! read more
