Came in to replace my dead battery that was still under warranty. Was told it wasn't under warranty. Was charged $400. Later I call my original dealership and they confirm my car battery is still under warranty. Eventually I got a refund, but I had to wait an entire week. Seemed intentional and they were going to attempt to keep my money. Very bad experience. Don't trust the Service Manager, Miguel Diaz, as they will lie to you apparently to get $ out of you when something is under warranty and then waste your time fighting for a refund. Typical. From the moment we started talking price, trade-in, etc., I felt like my salesman was trying to take advantage of me. Totally lowballed my trade-in and then tried to pressure me into leasing. It didn't feel good. When I balked, the trade in price suddenly doubled. He knew he didn't do me right because he texted later and asked if " he could earn my business back ". I went next-door and bought a Mazda and had a wonderful experience. To top it off, he asked what I ended up buying (I got a CX 30 instead of a Crosstrek) and had the petty audacity to reply ". Roger at North Park Subaru assisted us with buying my car earlier this year. He's friendly, reliable and knowledgeable, and made the whole process easy! After dealing with multiple shady car dealers, North Park was truly a breath of fresh air. I called North Park a few months back inquiring about an Outback and had the pleasure to talk with Mr. Kameron Spencer. He went over some of the basics with me and we chatted about cost value for my use case. He offered me to come in and do a test drive which I politely declined as I wasn't just yet ready to purchase. He did not insist nor coerce me to try to get me to come in. About a week ago I decided to purchase a Crosstrek Sport which I felt was more suitable for my needs and I remembered the pleasant interaction with Mr. Kameron so I called them again asking to speak with Kameron and we scheduled a test drive through. When I got to North Park there was a little wait but Kameron came out to apologize and invited my fiancée and I to take a seat for just a moment. He already had our vehicle ready for a test drive so once everything was set, we were on our way. After returning from the test drive, with no pressure added, we briefly talked about numbers. My how car buying has changed. I was expecting them to try to charge a few thousand over MSRP after all the additional add ons (the floor mats, nitrogen in tires, etc) but the crosstrek was listed right at reasonable price. I showed them my car to trade in and how much I desired to put down as well as what my goal price is. He came back just a short wait later with a counter offer and we met in the middle on a very fair and reasonable price. They were a little short staffed so the final financing process wait time with Mr. Robert took slightly longer than usual but we were okay with waiting and all staff were polite enough to stay past closing with us to ensure we left with a smile. Robert negotiated with me on a very fair price for some added coverage and that was that. All in all I am incredibly satisfied with my experience and North Park and if I happen to come in to the market for another vehicle I'll be sure to come back again. Final thoughts: as long as you come prepared with your documents, money down, and all other items, your process will be very smooth. No BS given, no BS received. I had another great visit at North Park Subaru. On this particular visit, the car needed some maintenance and parts replacement. I made a appointment online and dropped the car off the night prior. The coordinators and technicians were very communicative via text. The techs sent me videos of the work they were going to do, and showed me exactly what was worked on. Shout out to Jorge. Alan and Luke proved to be capable coordinators, and didn't try to answer anything that they couldn't (or promise anything they couldn't deliver). The lobby is clean and wifi is available. If you show up too early, the dealership has boxed water available, but the coffee won't always be ready. Biggest thing, you won't have to be caught out in the heat. If you need a Lyft, the dealership will arrange for it from there (and back). I would have an address handy - as it makes it easier for the staff to arrange for it. My daughter took her 2017 Subaru Outback in for service a couple weeks ago because her check engine light came on and Moe Aguilar got with us every chance he could by text, providing video of what the issues were. Much to our surprise there was a list of things that were wrong with it and my daughter had only bought her car 14 months prior. We were fortunate to have purchased a warranty, though not a Subaru warranty, since we had bought it from Gunn Honda (1st mistake since the warranty offered by a Subaru dealership may have covered one of the more costly repair items on the list) anyhow Moe got busy making phone calls to find out what could be covered under our warranty. The list was going to cost half of what she paid for the car to begin with, Yikes! We were at a loss for words. However, Moe did everything he could to help us with the repairs. He was open and honest about everything along the way. He even called Subaru of America to see if there was anything they could do. We were blessed to have worked with such a diligent and caring service advisor and thankfully, the warranty we had did cover a substantial portion of the repair estimate, though not all of it, the more noteworthy, rewarding side of the whole experience was working with such a patient, empathetic and caring service advisor. He was able to relate to us on so many levels. My daughter is just getting started with her life, going to school, working two jobs, and making her own car payments, among other things, so a repair bill of that amount would've been detrimental to her psyche but thanks to Moe for going above and beyond working to try to get as much as he could covered. He kept us updated the entire time and worked with us to get the most critical items done first. The rest was up to us but even still we were relieved to know that we only had to pay a fraction of the overall bill in the end! And a shout out to our tech, Jorge, who worked on our car and left it running great! I didn't want to write this review too soon just to make sure everything was still running smoothly after a while so I think it's safe to say he did a great job! We also appreciate Savanah for putting us in a loaner vehicle while my daughter's vehicle got worked on for almost a week. This is a tribute to a General Manager, Steven, who cared to come out, to meet the person behind the wheel of their vehicles, when I picked up my daughter's car. After having such a terrible experience at Gillman Subaru San Antonio yesterday, it was nice to have a good experience here. It was like the difference between night and day. Someone walked up and greeted me as soon as I drove up, and said they would get my service advisor. My service advisor, Ashley, came right out and told me what would be happening. I told her about my awful experience at Gillman Subaru, and how they quoted me at least a 2 1/2 hour wait time for an oil change and tire rotation, and she said that it would be nowhere near that time at their dealership. Within 30 minutes, my car was in a bay and being worked on. And it was finished in under an hour. The only thing that would've been better is if they had had the key lock wrench for my particular key lock, which is an official Subaru part. They didn't have it, but they did say that if I brought mine with me next time I was in town, even before my next service appointment, that they would rotate my tires for no charge. They also washed my car, and it looked so nice afterward. read more

I ended up at North Park Subaru San Pedro after a terrible experience with North Park Dominion. In late 2018, I narrowed down my new car choices to an Outback or Honda Accord. Unfortunately, I went the the Accord. Long story short, buyers remorse set in fairly quickly after going with the Accord. A few months ago, I went back to North Park Subaru Dominion because of the good experience I'd had first looking at Outbacks. I'd decided to fix my buyers remorse and had a specific Outback model and color in mind. Unfortunately, I was met with an icy attitude. It was, "you're not going to find that model in that color anywhere in this city or even in the state". My attitude was, wait...I want to buy car x from you...I understand it may be hard to get...but this is what I want. What can you do!? Nope. I was dismissed. Not even the offer to track one down. So, I came here, and got exactly what I wanted. I had to order and wait, but this dealership actually did their job, worked with me, and got me my ride. I can't say enough about my experience at this location. Bob M. was FANTASTIC! He helped me in every way, and was eager to find me exactly what I wanted. He even kept me posted with periodic calls on when I could expect my new ride to arrive. I understand how he's been there so long! We also had a great experience with Carolina in finance. Fast and efficient. I would TOTALLY give NP Subaru San Pedro 5 stars, but although I can't say enough about our salesperson Bob and my experience here, this is Dominion's "sister store" ::facepalm:: . When we got here, the nicest young man named Roger Shaw II, came out with a big welcoming smile, and we were hooked! We told him what she was looking for and the price range, and in just about 5 minutes he called us to show a vehicle that fit the description to a T.... To make a long story short, she purchased a lovely Subaru, she was so happy, and we both really took a liking to Roger. Not many people like to make small talk, except my sister and I do! PARTS DEPARTMENT ALONG WITH SERVICE SUCKS!!! Got a "brand new" short block for my car under warranty. Installation was fine, put almost 10k miles and somehow oil was burning internally. I was told to just bring the short block in for another & once I was it removed, I tried just that. All of a sudden parts manager claims that i need pictures and documentation along with a compression test due to the model of my car. Stereotyping a car is crazy. Requesting a compression test AFTER the engine was removed is even crazier. (In order to get the test, car has to have the engine installed) I ended up giving up with these people because they gave me the runaround for MONTHS. I came out of pocket for a used engine instead... smh. These guys did not want to help due to the fact that they were not making money and it shows. 0/10 would not recommend this place for help with parts/service or warranty read more

The finance guy (I wish I remembered his name) was a straight to the point kind of guy which I appreciate. This has had to be the quickest car deal that I've had thus far (it would have been quicker if I wasn't adamant about reading everything I sign). A nice touch from the dealership is the playground. If you want your time wasted and going to be led on and not communicated with this is the place for you. Their service department treated me as a Subaru owner terribly. I took my vehicle into for a diagnostic at their suggestions before I got an alignment. I was told 48 hrs at the most. They held my vehicle for 5 days and not once told me what was going on- I had to call in and was led on by my service advisor when he kept saying We don't know what's going on- by the fifth day I had to talk to a manager to find out they hadn't even gotten to it. It was just sitting there. I was not given a loaner car so I was 6 days without a vehicle. By the time I got it back no apology was offered and the vehicle was given back to me filthy and unwanted after twice they had promised me they would. Just by far the worst customer service/ car service experience I've ever had and unless you enjoy being screwed around with- this is not the place for you! read more

My sister needed a car for college and our plan was to dealership hop and just have a look at a bunch of cars and then narrow it down at the end of the day. But as soon as we walked up to the dealership Roger greeted us and asked us for all our wants and our budget. He ended up showing us a beautiful used car with a good amount of milage for its year. He was very knowledgeable about the car and all it's features (safety, tech, comfort, ect.) We took the car out for a drive and he answered all our questions while on the drive. When we got back my sister was convinced that this was the car for her. We went back into his office and he got everything in order for us. While we signed papers and such we got a glimpse of him outside working hard on getting the car cleaned and perfect for us. Before we could drive away he went over all the features of the car once again. He then called us the next day to check on us and see how we were doing. Roger was extremely friendly and definitely cared that we got the car we wanted and needed while still in our budget. We have been dealing with North Park Subaru since 2004 when I purchased my first Subaru- a sporty garnet red Forester With plush charcoal grey fabric. We paid a little extra to have a black roof rack designed to carry two adult bikes. The bike rack basically gave the Forester a sporty but sophisticated look. I had been driving a 1999 Honda CRV with standard transmission. It ran a lot rougher like a truck. The Forester ran very smooth and got excellent gas mileage. The only problem at that time with North Park Subaru is that they did not have their own service or body shop. However when i purchased my 2nd Subaru..... A 2018 Subaru Crosstrek I was happy to find that they now have their own service department. I bought the pre-paid service contract which saves you some money and provides all the required services for the first 36 months. It is definitely a good idea because they call you in advance to let you know your required service It's coming up and they even provide service on Saturdays. They also let you know of recalls that are pending or have not yet been completed on your car. I brought my 2018 Crosstrek in to have recall work done (ignition switch).There was a possibility that it would take more than a day so they let me have a loaner so that I wouldn't be without car. My advisor, Ashley, kept me informed every step of the way. So far, all of my service advisers i've been extremely professional and have let me know about what's going on every step of the way. They'll text you to let you know approximately how much more time they'll need to keep your car in a little provide their personal number that you can reach them back at and not have to go through a bunch of people before you can speak to them. read more

Just incredibly rude people constantly. Even when they are the ones that mess up. It is always a frustrating experience dealing with them.

I went in for my very first 6k mile check and it was a little bit obvious I wasn't aware of the procedure. Once the doors opened though my brood and I were shown where to park, introduced to Marissa, our point of contact, and led to the waiting area where my girls loved watching our car's tire rotation from the observation window. There were many people in the waiting area but it was so quiet, snacks were ample, and we were in and out in one hour exactly, and that even included a courtesy wash. I live in Boerne and could have gotten my oil changed locally but I was so blown away by their service that I will gladly make the trip for future servicing. Something I noticed was how many people showed up to the Service Center, most with older models than my own car, and they knew what to do and where to go. That speaks volumes to me in terms of repeat customer patronage. I have no doubt in a few years I might spy someone like me, with their first Subaru, being led through the process at North Park because I will for sure still be going there. Every 6,000 miles and/or 6 months includes an oil change, tire rotation, new air filter and a courtesy wash, which the man who greeted me asked if that was okay, seeing I had kids in tow. In retrospect I think he was trying to gauge what my time frame was. Outstanding attention to detail as a parent. I have to give 5 stars because its the highest it goes and more than once I commented to my kids that this is a pretty cool way to start our day, and I've NEVER said that about getting an oil change. read more

This is one of the worst dealerships I have ever dealt with. Let's see I walked in to buy a car cash, said the only thing I absolutely DO NOT want is a sedan. I want an SUV. Somehow they talked us into a Legacy. Secondarily it was a car that was a dealer used car, so we had to wait two weeks for the second key to be mailed in from some dealer members son who was using it previously... it's been three months still no one has called me to replace the windshield or returned my 6 calls about it. The guy who sold it to me is gone now, they ran like chickens with their heads cut off for this second key, and oh wait it doesn't even work the battery is not only dead it's gone. You'd think maybe they would check that... the service department was nice and friendly and quick, but the service area is supremely lacking and basic. I should have stuck with Lexus North Park because they are simply amazing. So if you want a 3-6 month headache and to be completely forgotten shop here. If you want a personable staff who remembers your name and face and greets you as such go around the corner to Lexus. Sad being that it's all the same company who runs both but one is terrible and one is beyond excellence. read more

North Park Subaru was the first car dealership I went to while looking for new SUVs. I knew I wanted to test drive a handful of different cars from multiple dealerships, but North Park Subaru was closest so we started there. First off, this was immediately unlike any experience I've ever had at dealerships because nobody rushed out to greet us--they let us be, then asked us if we needed help only after about 10 minutes. For two people who were in the very first stages of car-buying, this was perfect for us, since we got to check out the specs on all the cars in our price range before asking to go inside of one. Tim Kelley ended up being our salesman when we asked if he could open up a Forester for us. He unlocked it, showed us the inside/outside/all the specs, then asked if we wanted to test drive. We weren't sure about test driving quite then, but promised that we'd be back if we still loved the Subaru after checking out other places. Fast forward through a pushy experience at another nameless Toyota dealership and a blah experience at a Mazda dealership, when we did a test drive (again with Tim) on a 2014 Forester 2.5i Premium. It happened to be raining (how appropriate!) during the test drive, so Tim made sure to point out all the unique features of the AWD Subarus and how well they were made for that type of weather. Even after loving the test drive, we made it clear to Tim that we weren't really sure of our decision at that time and wanted to ruminate on it. Later that afternoon, I called Tim to tell him I definitely couldn't stop thinking about the Forester and that it was the car for me. They only had a white one on the lot, and I had in my heart that I wanted a black car. Thus, Tim arranged for a dealer trade to occur two days later (a Monday, since I visited on a Saturday) for a car with the exact specifications I wanted. We signed all the paper work, Tim and Mike Yuretich (the business manager/finance guy) explained everything in detail, and I got to leave with my first ever new car (and first Subaru!). Both Tim and Mike had fun, positive attitudes, were apologetic when we had to wait (it happens!), and made the process surprisingly less stressful than I anticipated it to be. The only slightly bad thing I can even think of was that Mike (the main financing man) seemed to have a lot going on, with a line of people out the door. This is by no fault his own, other than everybody seems to want Subarus, so the wait felt on the longer side. However, both Tim and Mike's fun personalities made this a moot point at the end of the day. I'm grateful for my first car buying experience to be with them! Terrible service. Terrible. Brought my Forester in at 92k miles, they tried to charge me $3k for repairs until I said "warranty" -- and they said, "oh". Shouldn't they know vehicle was in warranty? Of course they did. Then they parked my car on a back lot and left it there for almost 3 weeks. Did not answer my texts (they told me comm would be by text). Finally got service manager, Kevin, who mitigated some of the issues. Finally got my car back at 27 days, and their "service" reps complained that I didn't wash the the loaner car (??? I don't wash rentals, does anyone?). I complained that interior of my car was covered in plastic and taped with masking tape, which had melted on my leather seats. "Service" rep informed me that now we were "even". My 3d time getting warrant work at Subaru dealer. NEVER AGAIN. Love the car when it runs, but it's had a lot of failures (a/c, seatbelt, controller arms & bushings, strike plate for the ignition, washer fluid nozzles, etc.). DO NOT shop at North Park Subaru. My brand new Forester (14 days) developed a spontaneous crack on the passengers windshield after I left it parked in a covered spot. The sales manager I called (either Steve or Enrique) spoke to me in a condescending tone, overlooking my concerns and refused to help me return the car nor cover the cost of windshield replacement. He claims to have never heard of this happening despite a lawsuit in 2018 against Subaru for this very reason. I will now have to regularly pay hundreds to replace my Subaru windshield. I will NEVER purchase a Subaru again and I regret this debt I have for my newunsafe car. Update: I was very impressed with the service manager, Andrew's, response to my concern. I am very grateful for the time he took to file a claim with Subaru for the defect, and that he made sure our new car was appropriately taken care of. Once again I have to give credit where credit is due! After a few bumps in the road, North Park Subaru seems to be back on track! This is a wonderful dealership with a wide range of vehicles on site. Unlike many cars dealerships these days, this one has several cars inside and just outside the main building that are open for customers to sit in before engaging a salesperson (instead of being required to engage a salesperson even to make an initial look inside a car); meanwhile, the salespeople are attentive and patient. Warm, friendly, non-pushy, and extremely knowledgeable salesperson Tim truly sold the car we were looking at. (And not just to me -- he had also sold it to my wife, who'd bought a new Toyota a few months ago and had not ever been interested in a Subaru before.) His excitement about and belief in Subaru and its cars was clear and infectious. This is the second bad experience I've had with this dealership this year. The first time I just had lost a key and they took about 2 weeks and all they did was send it off because they don't have the proper equipment to do in house like they had said they would. Key cost about $1,700 and had problems with it immediately after picking up. Took to a different subaru to resolve the issue. This past week I took my car in for a weak start and they quoted me a starter and a bunch of relays for $900 and still couldn't guarantee the car would work. The starter and all 3 of the relays they quoted had nothing wrong with them. They couldn't start my car so they said I needed a tow. As soon as I get there my car starts right up. I got it diagnosed at a different local shop in under a hour and they found a loose connection and charged $65 for the diagnostic. I won't bring my car back to this dealership again.
