This review is for the service center at Northside Ford on San Pedro off 281 in SA, TX. I took my wife's vehicle, which we bought from there, in for a "recall." It sat there for 3 days until I was notified they did not have the part for the recall. I made an appointment for the service and when I dropped it off they said it would be ready the next day. My advisor offered no explanation or responsibility. She just said you can leave here over the weekend or bring it back next week. There is a lack of communication within the service department that makes the customer experience a nightmare. After I wrote a review concerning this at Ford's request, I received an email back stating they could not post my review due to "whatever" guidelines. Big surprise!!! read more

Do not take your vehicle here. They will screw you over. Had to bring my car here for warranty maintenance. My car had gas and was working when I brought it in for an airbag recall. I get my car back 3 days later and it will not turn on and it had NO gas. My husband tells the service guy Dave L. Dave asks us to pop the hood checks the battert and says we have an issue with the battery and offers to give us a service quote to have it fixed. Why would I need a service quote for an issue we didnt have when we dropped it off. Do not take your vehicle here. Worst place. Go find a place that cares for its customers and didnt try and rip you off. read more

Brought my car in for full service and some touchup on the driver-side door. Jonathan handled the service and did a superb job. He was fair, informative and made sure that things that were "most" important were taken care of and left a few things to my option. Mike - over at auto body - I've worked with him before and he's the best. He took care of a few things that weren't done last time at no charge. What more can a person want? Maybe I've been fortunate? But, I've never had a bad experience at Northside. If they mess up? I've always had them compensate for my lost time. So, I highly recommend Northside Ford. We finally got rid of our very awesome King Ranch after dealing with this place for three years. Loved the truck, hated everything that had to do with going to the dealership. For example, you we would make an appointment for service but, more often than not, by the end of the day the service wasn't even started and we would either have to leave it overnight or come back. What's the point of making an appointment, rearranging work schedules and finding alternate transportation, which usually involved inconveniencing someone else, to not have any work done?? For something as simple as an oil change, it would take several hours and when we would bring the truck home, oil would leak out and stain the driveway and garage. They said it's normal. Normal for whom?? For Ford? For sloppy servicing?? None of our vehicles had ever done that, so what makes it normal? Not to mention, one time we picked up the truck and found a "ring" on the bed cover where someone had obviously kept his drink. Another time we picked it up and found dirty rags left behind in the rear footwell. Let's not even get into the waiting area with the torn up seats or the cafe area which was never crowded or clean. We once saw a cowboy boot, just one boot, of all things, sitting under an unoccupied table. Maybe the owner was in such a hurry to get out of there that they fled in socks! Because of things like this the repeated negative experiences we had over the three years we owned it, we will likely never buy another Ford, especially not from this place. So many dealerships provide exceptional service to their customers, but Northside Ford is far behind that curve. read more

So I made an appointment to get Louise her 50,000 mile maintenance service weeks ago. Took her in today. Girl who "greeted" me was super friendly....not. I parked my car and went into the service area. No one would help me. Finally had to ask a service guy to help me. He seemed put out. He then told me to go to the tune up place that was connected and they would help me. Went over there service was horrible. Guy at desk had no interest in helping me or getting my car taken care of. He basically told me I didn't need the service and dismissed me. Cool. Northside you and your little side kick are awful. No wonder Red McCombs is highly rated. What do you get when you buy from Northside Ford? Trash talking the competition. Sleazy salesmanship... Like, the stereotypical used car salesman forked tongue bait and switch the hide the records kind of sleaze. Poor customer service. Vehicles that don't meet state or federal safety and environmental requirements. Illegal sales practices. When I purchased my Ford from Northside Ford I did so against my better judgement. When it took them two weeks to finally have it ready I followed through, against my better judgement. Lie after lie for why it wasn't ready. I should have walked away. I know this now and I knew it then. Which is why, when I walked in to request the service records for the items I requested prior to purchase, the items that were contractually obligated to be completed by then as a contingency of my purchase, I did so with the intent of eating my mistake and moving on. They set me with the service manager who immediately started dodging. "They are electronic records and once we are done with a file it's closed and we can't access it" - no, that means you can just pull it up and print it, should make the job easier to her honest... (really? Do I look old enough to be that naive with technology? Try again.) "Give me your email and I'll have someone send them over" - no, it's ok I've got time. I'll wait. "Well why do you want them?" - why don't you want to give them to me? He huffed and disappeared into the back office. When he returns he refuses to give them at all now stating that it's just not something they do. And "there's no law requiring that we give you those" - no, it's called customer service.... Why are you bringing up legal requirements? Why are you so adamant that I don't get my hands on those records? Eventually I settled for a checklist and you'll find it on the review on their facebook page as yelp won't allow me to attach them here. Nearly everything is a lie, you'll find the photographic evidence attached as well. I discovered the deficiencies less than 800 miles into owning the vehicle and it currently has less than 1500 miles driven on it as it was at my mechanic to diagnose any further issues. Every item I stipulated as requirements to be completed before my purchase were found to be incomplete. Silence from Northside. My stipulations: Flush and fill all fluids including differentials, transmission, coolant, and oils. Replace windshield. Replace corroded battery cable. Ensure no after market tuners were used or engine modifications were made (to the best of your ability) The Windshield is cracked 3/4 across - still. The battery cables were so corroded one actually snapped in half when i moved it by hand. The coolant reservoir was filled with metal filings and water, not coolant (photos attached). The hose from the reservoir to the radiator did not have a fastener resulting in a leak that drained all remaining fluid out 900 miles into driving it. - If the coolant was flushed and filled this should not be the case. A DPF delete tuner was found in the glove box. The DPF system is currently turned off - a violation of FEDERAL EPA REQUIREMENTS. The wiring harness was frayed in several places and the O2 sensor wires completely severed 500 miles into driving requiring a roadside MacGyver job to get me home. - You'll notice on the checklist they stated that all wiring was inspected and cleared. Silence from Northside Ford. Well, I tried playing nice. I tried to just eat my mistake and move on. All you had to do was give me the records and I'd have moved on and let my mechanic fix what you didn't. All you had to do was not be shady. Purchased with 155xxx on the odometer. read more

Watch out for this dealer. Make sure anything they tell you is true. Bought a 2020 Escape from them 3 years ago and just found out from another dealer that we were lied to, and they snuck in charges that we did not need. We're out $2000+ due to their horrible tactics. Question everything they tell you and check with Ford to make sure charges are legit. They are what gives car dealers a bad reputation. read more

I get you cannot necessarily fix something the day of appointments, but surely you can schedule someone to diagnose it ... especially when you have a 1-2 week backlog. read more

I have bought 3 cars here. Two have been defective. My current car is a 2020 Escape. Issues from the start. Current issues are auto brake hold and transmission. I have major damage to my car due to the auto brake failing. I took pictures of the fault message on my dash. They act as if we are making it up as they can't replicate the issues. NORTHSIDE FORD NEW VEHICLE SALES. If I could give a zero star rating, I would. I am in the market for a new 2022 Expedition so I visited Northside Ford to order a new vehicle from Ford. I was appalled to see that Northside is substantially marking up vehicles above MSRP. In addition, they tack on an additional charge of over $2,000.00 for window VIN etching, which is non-negotiable. They have an attitude of "take it or leave it" so I decided to leave it. I had purchased a new 2018 Super Duty truck from them a couple of years ago and my experience is that they treat their customers like "chopped liver" after the sale is completed and they've got your money. My advise to all that are considering a new Ford is to STAY AWAY from this unscrupulous dealer. My F150 was in need of repair. It sat in the parking lot for two weeks and they didn't even look at it. Then, I needed it back. So, I went to pick it up only to find out that I'd lose my place "in line" and I'd have to start all over with the waiting process when I brought it back. I ended up taking the vehicle to another shop and got the misfire repaired in one day!!! This place needs to get it together. Their sales sucks; their service turn around time is poor. I went to ask information on having my vehicle diagnosed because they never answered the phone.I asked if an appointment needed to be made and their response was no I could take it in any day but it would take approximately 7-10 before they even looked at it so I asked if I could just bring it back in 7-10 days from now since it's my only vehicle and their response was no I had to leave it there. I don't get why they can't just set up an appointment instead of having the customer without a vehicle for almost two weeks. read more

Northside Ford Quick Lane is NOT military friendly! I used to go here religiously until today. They always gave military discounts to all veterans for all services and repairs. Today I'm told it's company policy NOT for oil changes. I asked to speak with the service manager. After waiting for 10 minutes in silence waiting to talk with a manager, the clerk (without saying anything) rewrites the order and prints it out again. Then tells me, I'll give you the discount THIS one last time, but never again! Boy...sure glad I served my country for 20 years for that one last time! Warning to all fellow Veterans, Stay away from Northside Ford!! The Service side also employs thieves. I had service performed on my Ford Escape, off duty police vehicle, and they cut the wires and stole a mini red/blue light bar. Unethical dealership. Reserved my Lightning in May and was told zero markup since May. Ordered in February 2022 and after they accepted it they added a markup. I cannot switch the reservation because they already accepted it. They accepted my order under false pretenses just so they could have a guaranteed built unit. Find another dealership I have purchased 5 vehicles from this dealership. The most recent being this July. This is a new car and has had mechanical issues almost leaving me stranded, other issues have had to be fixed and I have been waiting for weeks for their "system" to come back up to submit pictures of the defective paint that is chipping off to include areas that are not exposed. They way I have been treated this week by the manager, Robert, of the dealership will never be forgotten. I am still shocked that he walked away laughing after being a loyal customer since 1995. Their assistant service manager took paint off with his "tape test" and then was too scared to admit it to the manager after yesterday. I now have a brand new car with defective paint and more chips where their employee took off with tape inside the door that is not exposed to the outside. My sons car will not be a Ford and will not be bought at a Ford dealership. read more

Dropped off my F150 Monday morning for warranty work and told 2-3 days to check it out. By Wednesday nothing, Same Thursday and when I called Friday was told it wouldn't be checked until the following week. No communication or explanation other than we are busy. What business cannot provide proper completion times or have no clue as to where they are in the process. Ended up getting my vehicle back as having it sit at a dealership for over a week is unacceptable. If you cannot handle the work, get more techs or be honest with people. Excellent service. Nice waiting room with comfortable chairs. It did take about 2 hours but that's expected on a busy Saturday morning. I was able to leave and come back. I appreciated that they washed and vacuumed my car! Nice extra touch. Plus they send you an email when the car is ready and you can pay directly from the email. They also gave me a list of services that need to be looked at in the car from cautioned tasks to passed tasks and how much each would cost. Easy and fast. read more

We purchased a Ford 150 ($70,000) from this dealership (Demetrius is the salesman's name) and it was a true nightmare! Upon delivery of the new truck, we started the vehicle only do discover that the charging system warning light was on. We learned about this problem 5 minutes after Demetrius delivered the new truck (he knew the warning light was on but did not tell us). He simply left. We were told by another reputable mechanic not to drive the truck if the charging system was compromised. Northside Ford was eager to walk away from this problem and would not pick the new truck up and repair it. Instead, they told us to go to another Ford dealership and figure it out with them. Don't dont don't take you car here for service. I have seen way to many of my friends get ripped off here. I have a 2003 ford ranger and i decided to take it here for a tune up back in 2017. They wanted 650 for a tune up. I laughed and walked out. Then i took my truck to geroges auto repair across the street. This is the ONLY mechanic i allow to work on my truck. He is a honest busy gentleman that knows he doesent have to rip off honest people. He just has to be good at what he does and his customer service is outstanding. Please get a price from him before you get ripped off at northside. I gurantee it will be better. Keep in mind he is a busy guy so he more than likely wont be able to get to the vehicle the same day but when i take my truck there he usually gets to it in about 2 to 3 days. Ok, so I had gotten into a car accident and the insurance company was like weirdly FAST, but this dealership was SLOWER THAN A SLOTH . I had my car in the shop for 2 MONTHS and EVERYTIME I call for an update NO ONE ANSWERED or they would brush me off . I had to WALK/ bus OBER THERE AND GET MY ANSWERS . This dealership is dated, and service department is poor. I bought a 2020 Mustang from them. Usually a new car feels fresh and clean. The Mustang did not feel like a new detailed vehicle. After taking vehicle home,I noticed the left turn signal made a strange noise. It took a week to discover the left brake light was out. Apparently they do not make sure everything is working properly before delivery to customer . I took it into service and they told me to come next day so the could replace brake light and harness. I brought it in and they said they fixed it. I asked that they make sure they check all the other lights to make sure they were working, and they said they would. I brought the vehicle home, and that night I noticed that the tail light was not working. I took it back to the dealership, and I felt like I was negotiating for service to be completed. it was only after I stated that I was going to a different dealership, that they finally agreed to look at it, and not make me wait three hours. Service finally took the car back to the electrician and they found that a reset button should've been reset, when they put the new brake light and harness in. Frustrating... I will be looking for a new dealership to service vehicle. read more

Garbage, I took my car to them with a recall that the door can fling open on its own at any givin moment, they had the car for over a week and did nothing, when i got it back it had cob webs all over it. still has yet to be fixed because i cant just leave my car there for eternity. they tried to charge me 1000 dollars for a bad actuator and 2 bad relays, i got the parts myself and paid less than 75 bucks to fix all of it, big time scammers. My first visit to the service department at Northside Ford was less than stellar, but i decided to give them a second chance, my mistake. Staff are consistently unpleasant to speak with, dismissive and patronizing attitudes throughout. When arriving for my appointment i was finally seen 15 minutes after my appointment time only to be told i would have to leave my vehicle for "at least a week, not really sure" in order to have preliminary diagnostic testing done. Completely unacceptable and unwilling to provide realistic solutions to problems. I love my Ford truck (just passed 235k miles) but i will never visit this service department again. read more

A dealership to avoid. The first time I had my brand new 2021 F350 in for a service and a recall there, the service department took twice as long as expected and didn't complete the service. I had to prove to the service writer and manager some of my service was not actually done. I gave them a pass on it thinking it was a one off event. Now the same truck is in for another recall. I was told it would take a few days to get done as there were 3 vehicles in front of mine, but I had to leave my truck there to be "in line" to get the recall done. Reluctantly I left my vehicle there. After they had my vehicle (with no loaner) for 6 days for the recall I find out the work has not started and now there are 5 cars in front on mine. I love my Ford, but do yourself a favor and don't use Northside ford. It's a shame since they are 3 miles from my home, and I have to find someone who actually works on the vehicles. I feel bad for the service writers working there, as it's obviously the service managers failing to run the show. read more

On November 25, my wife and I bought a new '22 Escape from Northside Ford. On November 28, Northside notifies me that the car has a recall, bring it in and we'll give you a loaner till it's fixed. My wife brings it in, gets the loaner, and is told they should not have sold us the car. They have to take it back because of the recall. On December 1, I notice the loaner agreement has expired by a day. Mind you I intended to keep the loaner till my new car was repaired, so I call Dorian Gagne, the person who sold us the car, to see when my car would be repaired (I had no intent to return it) and update the loaner agreement. He tells me they took the car back, could I bring in the second set of keys, and I have another car I can sell you. He further says that Northside returned the check to the bank. I bring the loaner back, take the keys to the loaner in to his office and give them to him. There's a person in there who I guess is another customer along with a suit who I guess is another Northside sales specialist. I proclaim to the supposed customer that they sold me a car with an open recall that they should not have and leave. Dorian Gave catches up to me outside and says how he doesn't appreciate what I said to his customer. I told him how I didn't appreciate being sold a car he shouldn't have sold. Salesman, sales manager, detailing and financing (4) should have caught the recall. Anyone buying from here should consider all I've written before buying from them. read more

I was ready to swear off Ford for good but Korbie restored Ford again for me. I got the vehicle exactly like I wanted and couldn't be more pleased with the whole experience. My personal cars are serviced at another dealer based on pre-arranged service agreements and I am not treated near as good as I am here at Northside Ford. A 5 star rating for Christian Martinez. My complain is with the other 2 service people mainly the younger Hispanic member with a beard who kept making rude noises and I caught him mocking me under his breath while I was being attended by Christian. A completely rude, antagonistic, sad individual who has no service skills. I have been a loyal customer since 2007 since I bought my vehicle there and it's the first time that I have been treated so. Again out thanks to Christian and Javier who I have dealt in the past. The other 2 individuals need to be reprimanded and or retrained and placed in another position. This is specifically for the SERVICE DEPARTMENT. I have read countless reviews of various dealers both Ford and others (for my other cars) and they do tend to be very negative with obvious issues but this one is different! I have a 2021 F-150 that needed a couple recalls, a difficult non recall issue, and its first service appointment. I worked with Chase N. who advised me with staffing issues it would be a few days, which I fully anticipated due to other reviews and the market and as I was traveling for work dropping off a few days was actually ideal. He called me every day and kept me updated so I felt fully engaged throughout the process. After about 3 full business days the truck was all done right as I got back to town. When I picked up I was really impressed by the care they took, wrapping the steering wheel in plastic, lots of surfaces covered, etc. to the point the truck was definitely as clean as when I dropped off. Every item was fixed to satisfaction and beyond. Honestly working with dealerships can be frustrating on the service front especially in a big city but in this case it was simply all I could have expected. I would be the first to burn them down with a one star review if something went sideways but feel we all should also be ready to recognize the fact that things went well.
