They closed down the pharmacy at Peoples Plaza at 5:00 pm on 10/21/24 because there was no staff to man the pharmacy. Been trying to get prescriptions post-surgery for over 24 hours with no success. Stay away from this establishment as they are clearly not meeting needs of the community and are being mismanaged. All I wanted were pain meds, but I hope no one was unable to get their actual life-saving prescriptions last night!

I was told to come back later the prescriptions were not ready. This is not a compounding pharmacy so all they do is locate the medication and count out the amount of pills perscribed affix a label, place the prescriptions in a bag and collect the money. Not sure why this store has such horrific service however I will never return. I suggest you don't either.

And trying to get the medication, which is time sensitive, while having a high fever, arguing with them that it should be covered by Medicare was useless. They did not tell me I could go to any other Walgreens (or other pharmacy chains) in Newark and get it free. Instead they insisted over and over that it was $794 (after my insurance covered $1,000 of it), which I paid. I will not be going here again.
