    This place is disgusting. Spent $4,000 for the week here, and the place was worse than an Econolodge. I will post pictures. There was a giant bug on the wall when we walked in that scared my kids. There was a hole in the ceiling. The furniture was chipped, old, and gross looking. The drapes were disgusting and looked like something out of the 1970s. This is one of the worst places I have ever stayed in...AND...when we showed up, the water was not even on! Really could not be worse, and yet they charged 4 star prices. This is more than just bad. It is a scam, and they take advantage of you because they have the Northstar name. Never stay here.

    I have stayed in numerous condos throughout NorthStar and have always had a great experience until last night. Checked into unit 4114 Ski Trails and was disgusted to find our sheets covered in black hairs and our comforter covered in seamen. Called housekeeping more 12 hours ago and still have not heard a thing. This unit is poorly maintained and I would avoid.

Walking to ball games, the Art Museum, seeing a show, strolling along the Truckee River's River Walk, or exploring a host of interesting restaurants and bars, I have found life in downtown Reno much better than I earlier knew or imagined. And perhaps you don't want to get caught up in the busyness of the suburban explosion. Moving from California several years ago, I have found The Montage condominiums in downtown Reno one of my best moves ever. For many reasons, I assess The Montage to be the best current offering for downtown condo living in Reno. After checking the competitors, choosing The Montage was an easy choice, so much so that after several years I bought another second, larger unit. While it is an inappropriate location for children, there is a great mix between the 21-40 age group and the 55+. Best of all, I have found my neighbors to be about the most friendly I've encountered, and that most definitely includes the very capable staff. The HOA and Management also maintains a very nice social schedule with speakers and different events. The facility is very dog-friendly though I have never experienced noise problems with that. As a builder-lawsuit has restricted bank-financed purchases up to now, this hopefully will be resolved soon and the prices could spike. Beyond the many amenities, the building is kept spotless and up-to-date by a very competent maintenance staff while security guards and front desk staff monitor activities 24/7. In addition to a large swimming pool and two hot tubs open all year long, the sunny 6th floor pool deck is beautifully landscaped and also includes a full clubhouse and shade cabanas, and five gas grills. There is a large fitness center, meeting room, and business center/television/library. There is also generous on-site storage as well as separate bike storage. Subterranean gated parking protects your vehicle from any cold or heat extremes. This is fun, luxurious, turnkey downtown living that I am so pleased to have discovered!

If you're not into skiing and just want to enjoy some fall hiking and quiet hot tubs, I recommend booking in mid October. However, the gondola and most restaurants and shops are closed. We booked and three bed and three bath and really enjoyed the space. There is also a fully stocked kitchen, full size refrigerator and freezer, a washer and dryer, and plenty of common space. We could have stayed for a month and all been very comfortable. The only reason I'm giving four stars instead of five is that the service was somewhat lacking. This could have been due to the off season, but we had an odd experience where cleaning staff entered our room accidentally, realized it was not an empty room, and left. However, they left our door wide open. We were gone for the day, so we don't know how long everything was open and if anyone else entered the room. Despite the issue with our room, we would happily stay here again. The cost for what you get makes it very worthwhile.

Called me A WEEK later telling me my booking did not go through and they only have 2brm 2bath and had to fork out another $500 or so only for 2 nights vs 3. - Lost confidence of HVC and decided not to buy their TS. Their CS needs allot of work in communications. Asked them to follow up on a few requests, but disappeared and NEVER called back. - Things were broken in the room. (electronics, etc..) If you have a trust issue with customer service with booking, how can you trust buying their timeshare and they don't do this again? It was absolute nightmare what I went through and screwed up my plans! DO NOT BUY HVC! THEY NEED TO WORK ON THEIR CUSTOMER SERVICE OR THEY WILL SCREW YOU!

The sauna never seems to get hot enough, and I've always wondered why a hot tub has never been added, it would be a great improvement. We also found that basic supplies like toilet paper were very limited. This property has so much potential, and with some updates to the units and amenities, it could easily be a five-star experience. My entire family feels the same way. We love coming here and hope the owners invest in modernizing the accommodations to match the incredible location.

Regarding the property: First off the whole property has got to be at least 40-60 years old. The parking lot is run down. Looking at the style of paint, and the texturing of the walls, and the lobby of this place. This place was once used as an office building and then somebody later on came in and converted them into condos. The place was mostly up kept but you can see the age in everything. The whole condo lacks outlets, my wife and I have medical equipment and we could not find anywhere to plug in our CPAP machines, nor were there any nightstands. We had to bring a power strip and run a cord so that we could use our machines at night. Regarding our stay: When we arrived we had to listen to the person upstairs blast their TV all evening, the Tv was so loud you could hear it though the persons floorboards and ceiling. We awoke at 5AM our first morning to the person upstairs walking back and forth for about half an hour straight. The following night we had to listen to the person upstairs AGAIN blast their TV all night starting from 8PM all the way until midnight where we had finally had enough and picked all our stuff up and left. On 3x separate sheets of paper they state the management has a noise ordinance where you are not supposed to make noise past 8 or 9PM. Vacasa contacted the property management at kings run in which case they took no responsibility for the noise even though they have an ordinance and refused to compensate me in any way for my troubles. Do not do business or stay at the kings run condos!

Be it as it may, we spent the first hour after our arrival cleaning the kitchen, bathroom, and washing the sheets - which had lots of dust and pet hair - in a place that doesn't allow pets. I'm sure the owner would not be pleased with the management of their condo. Another issue was the electronic gas fireplace...we couldn't turn it off...the entire time we were there, the condo's inside temperature was like 88 when the outside was about 78. Overall, good location, nice community pool, but the cleaning crew needs to be replaced.

My rental is my only source of income so when the cleaners were late or things were broken and not fixed because I was not notified, guests would not have the best experience. I even caught one group of Mexican cleaners putting sheets just in dryer and not even washing them! That's when I started doing all the laundry myself! Unfortunately, some circumstances in my life caused me to not be able to actively manage the rental as I use to. I was in dire need of people who could do more, get the job done, and communicate with me and let me know they hear me when I communicate with them. Finding Vacation rental assistance was a complete miracle for me. Not only are they on top of the cleaning, (and all linens are provided by them and taken off sight for professional laundering) but many smaller maintenance issues as well and making sure the hot tub is cleaned and serviced between every set of guests. Their pricing is extremely fair, and I believe they earn it by keeping me informed of anything needed so I'm consistently receiving 5 star reviews from my guests. Which results in more bookings! I get pictures of any issues noticed after a guest leaves, which takes away a lot of stress! When they heard my beloved dog died, I even received flowers and a card. That's special. The professionalism via pre and post inspection reports, and ability to have a 24 hour on call handy man if you choose really makes owning a vacation rental much less stressful. Thanks to VRA I'm able to focus on my own healing and do more of giving back to my community. They are the most thorough, polite, professional, fair, people I've met in this industry, and I'm really so grateful for their whole team from the top down.

It is also not morally right to take one person's money and then take another person's money on top of that. Sometimes fairness has to take precedence over policy. There should be a good faith effort to make things fair for all renters. The unfairness of what happened to us was very disappointing -- renter beware. The timeline is as follows: the reservation was booked on January 31 and my son cancelled on February 21 -- not March 12 as stated. The stay is still several months away. We contacted Airbnb and they are currently reaching out to the host to review the situation. Unfortunately, my son was also blocked from contacting the host after the cancellation, which made it difficult to discuss any possible solutions directly. Our intention in leaving a review was simply to share our experience so others are aware of the cancellation policy before booking. The host also claimed that I threatened to write a review, which is not true -- I only wanted to let people know about the unfairness of this business practice.

The part that stands out about Chris is how clear and easy everything was. From check in to check out, every time my family asked me a question, I didn't have to message him or call him, I just looked in the binder that he left for us or I just checked my booking and all answers were there! A day after we left, we realized that we left something behind. I messaged Chris, and the professionalism of how he addressed this situation was phenomenal! My exact words after my experience with TAP were "I don't know how to give more than a 5 star review!"
