If you end up at this place for whatever reason and are tired of talking to salesmen at car dealership and are a person of color, the best bet would be to go with Alvaro. He is kind, sweet, hard working and extremely helpful. That's all the positive I can come up with. I had the misfortune of needing to buy a car in a time that is not optimal for buyers. The management at Northtown Kia is rude, impolite, cheeky and disrespectful, especially to people of color in my opinion. The biggest example of this crudeness is portrayed by their sales manager, Russel Sparcino. The man has no patience and is in an industry where interpersonal skills are much needed. Another person you really can't trust at this dealership is John Fischer, their financial person, who has the audacity to look up the first interest rate and lie to my face saying this is the best rate out there (6.74%) and then when I made statements that possibly made him feel that I knew a thing or two, goes to his office and comes back with "Oh actually, I tried this other bank you were going to consider, they actually do offer 3.04%." The service department is absolutely horrendous, in the past 2 months I've had to bring my car in 6 times! 2 for mistakes they've made while servicing my car, one was extremely dangerous- they forgot to refill my break fluid after they emptied it, causing my breaks to hit the floor and stop working while driving! This past week I've spent over 1000 dollars just to get my check engine light off to pass inspection, quoted me at 320 but of course got multiple phone calls saying how they just "happened" to stumble upon a new problem that needs to be addressed to pass inspection. Who the f has 1000 dollars to just fork over in a weeks period, I'm a student and I work full time and giving my hard earned money to people who I think are making things up just irks me to no end! Every time I go in here I walk away feeling completely robbed, such a shame we are completely at their mercy. I always look at my bill and the parts are always a fraction for what labor is... when did these mechanics become MD's??? I wish America would stop relying so heavily on cars for transportation. We had bought 3 Sorento's here and seemed to have had good deals. The most recent had a deal to remove my old tires and store them for me to pickup later because they were too busy to do the day of closing. I live 45 miles away and went back to pickup at my 1st service. The tires were gone. They blamed me for this and took no responsibility saying it was more than a week from the deal. They originally told me they store winter tires all the time but the gm told me only for high end customers (Lexus). They offered to sell me tires at cost They said they called but have no proof. Now I have to sue them What a scam and very dishonest I'll call Kia and also check the penal law There are more than 1 dealer so go else where's. I got a recommendation from a friend to check out Northtown Kia because I was thinking of leasing a Soul. He had bought a couple cars from them in the past and said they treated him well, so I figure it was worth checking them out. I met with "mick" at the door. He was pleasant, asking what I was looking for and then finding a car for me to test drive. It all went downhill from there. Upon entering the car, it was hot as Hades. It was a hot day in Amherst, the outside temperature gauge read 86 and it appeared the AC was working. We are talking AC in a BRAND NEW CAR. Mick said that the car had been sitting a while so it was just hot and the AC should come on soon. It didn't. We took the car on a test drive and were sweating buckets. The AC never cooled the car. I kept saying something isn't right with the AC. Finally, he said he' have the service guys look at it. We went back inside the dealership (where the AC was working) and he said he would go find another Soul for us to look at. He wanted to prove the AC was working in another car. That was odd. I didn't think ALL AC units were defective in Souls, but it wasn't a good sign that the car we test drove was a dud. We went back outside (yup, the AC was working in another car) and then returned to his office to discuss what options I was looking for in a Soul. I discussed the options and he asked if I was locked in on the Soul. I said yes because I was looking to lease the car and I thought the lease prices were very affordable. He then asked me to if I wanted to fill out a credit application and I said yes, but after thinking about it, I said no because he hadn't discussed how much the Soul would cost, or how much they would offer me for my trade-in. So when Mick came back with the credit app and I told him I didn't want them to run my credit yet because we didn't even know the numbers yet that we would be working with, he dissapeared once again and came back with the sales manager, "Donnie". That was the last time I heard Mick utter a work, from here on out, Donnie was in charge of the prospective sale. I have never had a Sales manager come out during a deal unless it was when I was walking away from the table and they were chasing me in the parking lot trying to sweeten the deal at the 11th hour. So I was surprised that the sales manager was present so early in the process. I have never leased before so Donnie gave the the lowdown on how leasing works. I appreciated his advice and his explanation of the process worked. I wasn't sure if he knew it or not but Mick explained it to me also when I first entered the dealership but I let Donnie continue cause he was on a roll. So Donnie ask me again what options I was looking for, I told him and he said he was going to see what he could find. I told him at this time that I was going to use my Honda as a trade-in the help lower the monthly leasing cost. He told me earlier that they really do recommend that people don't put money down on a lease. Only pay for the fees and taxes. But I still wanted to trade my car in as payment on the lease. So after 'inspecting' my car and 'talking' to auction houses, looking at their black book for the value of my car and how much people were willing to buy my car for, he comes back with the sales pitch. This is where I almost lost it. He comes back with a lease price for the car I wanted to lease at $350 a month!! For a SOUL... this was LEASE, not buying the car! After his explanation of how leasing works, which he said your basically renting half the car, (the car I was looking at was $22000, so half would have been $11000), I did a very quick calculation in my head, it wouldn't cost $350 a month. He also told me that he looked around and could give me $800 to $1000 for my trade in! I was absolutely insulted and I told him so. I told him KBB on my car was $4400-5500. I was so pissed, I got up and said I'd seriously have to think about leasing a car because I couldn't afford the numbers he was giving me. Im absolutely disgusted by my experience at Northtown Kia! I've been dealing with these people for 6 and a half weeks with no resolution in site. They treat people like hot garbage once they take your money and if they have an issue with you, you get passed to another sales associate to deal with. I will NEVER shop anywhere else for a car!!! We leased our first two Kias a few years ago and had a great experience then, in June Norbert contacted us to get out of our leases and into two new leases and we did. I was able to do it with my husband out of town! And we loved our cars, but that is not the end of the story.... Last week I had a very bad incident occur at the Galleria Mall, in a nutshell, we put our shopping bag down (which had $150 in clothes just purchased, my barely worn Northface, my daughter's jacket and in the pocket of my coat were my smart keys to my Kia). The manager of Garage ( the store we were in) decides to offer the bag to a stranger, asking if it was anyone's bag, instead of putting the bag behind the counter, the other girl left with our bag. It might have been a mistake, but we still don't have anything back. That same evening was the customer appreciation night and I was going to pick up my floor mats and cargo net for my New Sorento, using my $200 customer appreciation credit from Kia ( which Kia transferred from my old vehicle to my new one, another wonderful thing they did for me). I wasn't feeling like I should do that, but everyone at the dealership, the parts manager, Mike, the service manager, Russ, Tony and Norbert worked with me to not only get my mats and net, but also a new key fob! With very little out of my pocket. I thought that was the end of it, and I was very grateful for that, but today, Norbert called to tell me he had something for me. I was at a loss, thinking maybe it was my key fob, but no, he handed me a gift card to Tony Walker to replace my coat. I was speechless. I love you all at Northtown, you restored my faith in the goodness of people's hearts and definitely showed me that you are NOT a typical car dealer by any means! You made me feel like family with your sincere concern. Even the smart car guys were bothered by my whole situation and felt so bad. I have had two wonderful car-leasing experiences now at Northtown Kia. I leased my first Kia Sorento from them in 2014, loved the car and the salesman Brian, so I returned over the weekend to check in about a new lease. Even though we were there only an hour before they closed for the day, Christina Cownie didn't rush me. She was very personable, knowledgeable and let me take my time checking out the 2017 Sorento and answered all of my questions. She even stayed late to complete paperwork with me, when I decided I'd like to lease with Kia again. Then when I dealt with the manager Joe, he was just as helpful and personable! I even forgot about something I really wanted until the last minute, and he happily included it in the deal! I'm a teacher at a private school, so don't have a sizable income, but Christina and Joe worked with me to get the price I could afford, while still getting what I needed and wanted! Stopped into Northtown Kia last night on my way home from work, I was looking to test drive a vehicle as my lease was up in another month and I had not yet decided what I wanted to do. I was not familiar with Kia and have never purchased a vehicle from Northtown, although have had service done at their Toyota dealership. The facility looks brand new and is very relaxed and customer friendly. The girl at the reception desk greeted me immediately and was very friendly, she got me hooked up with Thomas for a test drive. Thomas was exceptional, he was very friendly and very knowledgeable. He answered all of my questions and really helped me find a vehicle that was the right size and style for my needs. I really enjoyed the Kia and found that I could get more bang for my buck than I would have with the other vehicles I was considering. I worked with Mike in the Finance dept who was the best finance person I have ever dealt with. He was so friendly and not pushy at all. He went through every detail with me and I didn't feel any of the pressure and stress that I have felt in the past once you make it to that point in the buying process. NEVER LEASE A KIA!!!!! My wife leased a Kia Forte here. First, to put it bluntly, the car was junk. Felt cheap to drive and the worst part is the brakes and tires went after only 15-17000 miles. That's unheard of! So because those are "wear and tear items" that $1500+ cost fell on us. I looked and there is nothing in the contract of them using cheap parts that wear prematurely. Funny how that was left out. My wife is by no means an aggressive driver and even if she was those parts should last 30-50000 miles. The gas gauge malfunctioned on it and it clunked with every little bump that was hit. Seriously the worst car I've owned and I've driven an 84 skylark! Look it up... To add insult to injury, Kia wouldn't buy the car back early. Couldn't make any money on selling it so we were stuck with the lease. So, we took care of the vehicle, returned it early with LOW LOW LOW miles compared to what is allotted and what does Kia do? Slams us with a $1000 bill for excess wear and a disposition fee. Funny how that doesn't happen if you lease another Kia.... The car may have had scratches like any vehicle but were by no means "excess". She didn't run into a pole. For those who aren't familiar, a disposition fee is the cost to resell the vehicle. A fancy was of saying they are going to slap some touch up paint on it, vacuum the interior and run it through a car wash. I did the math. Kia stood to make $8000+ off of us on this lease. That's calculating the MSRP of the vehicle new, what we've payed and what the vehicle is worth now (I went fair condition on KBB just to prove my point). Now they gouge us with an additional $1000 in 2 separate bills weeks apart? When do they stop? I'm just putting it out there that these cars are junk. They are made with junk parts that will fall on you to fix. Then in the end you will be hit with more fees because you leased this junk. Also, customer service here isn't the greatest. I've called multiple times over the years with questions about my lease. There is NEVER a manager available to assist and they do not call back. I even called today. The excuse is either there is only one manager on the floor, they are all in a meeting which never has an estimated time to end or there are no managers in yet. I'll see if they call back today. So the manager called me. Erik. He did his best to try and help. He said he sent out an email to the top folks at Kia financing. He told me someone would most likely be in touch with me within a week. Did they call? Of course not. Why face any music when you don't have to worry about morales and have complete control? Again, the reason I'm upset with Northtown is they sell/lease junk and promote this evil company for the financing. That way, ANYTHING that occurs after the fact is "out of their hands". My sales experience was excellent and my service experiences continue to be perfect every time I come in (especially because they offer water bottles and warm chocolate chip cookies in the lovely waiting room!) I really feel like family when I come here. The appointment scheduling process is fast and convenient whether I'm scheduling online or calling Kia to schedule it for me. If it's an emergency, they fit me in right away no matter what their schedule looks like, which is reassuring for customers. When I come in, I'm always greeted right away by a friendly advisor and my car is always finished in a timely manner, which I really appreciate! My Sorento has been in NT Kia's possession for 11 days, it was brought into the dealership because the panoramic sunroof exploded while driving. This was surprising to say the least and we feel fortunate that no one was injured, including my three young children who were in the car at the time. After doing some research I discovered that this is known issue with Kia panoramic sunroofs especially the Sorento. As disturbing as this incident was this is only the beginning of what has been a horrible experience. I have an extended warranty and expected that this would be covered, unfortunately it was not. Kia does not recognize the exploding panoramic sunroof as a manufacturing defect, other companies have voluntarily recalled their vehicles for this same issue (Kia refuses to take responsibility). It took 5 days for me to get an answer on whether this would be covered under warranty, I only found out after several attempts to reach a manager, no attempts were made by NT Kia to contact me. Upon finding out that it would not be covered by Kia, I filed an insurance claim that same day, at which point I expected the to repairs to made. This was last Thursday I gave them the weekend and on Monday after not hearing from Kia I called them, only to find out that work on my vehicle had not even started because they were waiting for a work order from my insurance company (which arrived at NT Kia on the previous Thursday and was not forwarded by NT to their collision shop). I was then ensured that NT was on it and it would be expedited. I then received a call yesterday from the sub-contracted glass installer to inform me that he would not be responsible for any damage to the vehicle in the future as a result of his replacing the sunroof, again I was dumbfounded. So here I am 11 days later, still with out my vehicle, hoping to have my car fixed soon and also hoping that it will be fixed the right way. Throughout this experience I was only contacted by NT twice and those contacts were made after 10 days and countless efforts on my part to resolve the issue. This whole experience has really soured my previously positive experiences with NT and Kia to the point I am considering getting rid of my vehicle. read more

The worst car service EVER. I purchased a Nissan Sentra 2013 from Northtown Auto Kia on Sheridan Drive Buffalo Ny July 20 2017 and I had slow leaks in one of my tires a day after I purchased it. Of course the warranty does not cover tires but you would think since I purchased the car the day before there will be a courtesy for selling a car with bad tires. I went back to NorthTown Kia on Sheridan Drive Buffalo NY and they just put air in it and said oh that's not a big deal it will be fine your pressure was just low. Then it happened again in like 2 weeks and I went back and the same thing occurred. They told me the same exact thing that it's just my pressure I asked them to look at it and they told me that nothing is wrong there isn't a hole or anything. I knew something was not right but since I thought they were qualified mechanics I believed them. I just kept getting air in the tire week after week until one day I got a flat. I purchased a new tire, new rims, and got it repaired from NorthTown Kia Auto on April 12 2018 and I still had a slow leak somewhere and they still had no answers. There wasn't a nail in my tire or anything .Then Recently I got another flat in July 11 2018 and went back to them and purchased another new tire and got my car inspected by them. Everything was good until Today July 19 2018 my dash board on my car say CHECK TIRE PRESSURE. . How is this occurring after repurchasing tires and rims and none of the qualified mechanics at NorthTown Auto Kia fixed my car good enough to prevent this from happening?! I called them today very upset and asked to speak to the service manager and they send me to voice mail. I called back and now they are not even answering my phone calls. I had cars before this one and there isn't enough nails and terrible streets that will make my tires leak every week. The tires was terrible from the start and it's rude that they put me on block. My 2012 Sedona failed the emissions test at a local dealer, so I drove an hour to have KIA look it over. First they let me know that nothing would be covered under the warranty, I was at 79,000 miles. So I sucked it up and said fine I will pay for the smoke test to see where the emissions leak was. The gentleman I was working with was very polite and understood that I am not made of money. He said that they would do the test and call to let me know what was wrong and what it would take to fix it. Originally this was the plan, the smoke test for $125 and then call me, I was very clear that I was not able to pay anymore than that for this day. He also said he was leaving early but there was another man that would be able to handle everything, so far no big deal. A couple hours later I get a call that the evap canister had failed and would need to be replaced and that my total for the day would be $500! I was shocked, I said but "you were only supposed to do the smoke test" to which the new guy replied "well yeah that's all we did, but if you want us to fix it the total will be $500, I mean it has to be fixed" I told him that's not something I can afford right now I will have to park it. He told me to give them 30 minutes to get the car back together, so I went in to get it. The new guys seemed very unsure of himself, he was trying to get the paperwork together and my husband and I were making small talk just to be polite. The whole time the man next to him kept glaring at us and rolling his eyes when we were telling the younger man that we thought the new KIA's were nice. So we finally get our car, go home and call our regular dealer ( who is not a KIA dealer, hence why we needed the sensor testing done at Northtown), and our trusted dealer says "well, that's too bad I will help anyway I can, we can get the part for $175 and I will only charge you for half and hour labor, that's about all it will take" way cheaper than Northtown. We started off fine at KIA, but as soon as they were not going to make a lot of money off of us we were treated like garbage. Oh and to top it all off they double charged my bank account for the $125 and I don't mean it was pending, they processed TWO PAYMENTS!! When I called and spoke with the service manager at first he said it would take a few days to investigate and then send us a check. I was pissed my account was negative because of them, only when I yelled did he actually try to fix this, he called me back about 15 minutes after our initial call and said "oh well the accounting dept already caught this and they are on the phone with your bank", bull, they didn't catch anything, it was because I called. It took 3 days for them to re-credit my account and I had to fax them bank papers showing that they caused my account to go negative and caused me fees. They mailed me a check for the bank fee, but for several days I got to look at my empty account. I will never ever return to this KIA dealer. I am currently dealing with Northtown Kia in a different capacity than most people. My vehicle was not purchased there but was towed to their service department because it was the nearest Kia dealership, NOT my choice. My 2015 Kia Sorento, leased by the way, with less than 23,000 miles on it has a blown engine. Northtown service called me to say that my engine had sludge on it as well as metal flakes in the oil and that the engine needed to be replaced. I was treated as though I was at fault from the beginning because I did not have all of my maintenance records (I had the most recent and am working on getting copies of the others). I was told that because I didn't have all my records, warranty coverage would be at Kia's discretion. They submitted their report and photos to Kia and in the meantime, I requested an estimate just to see what the cost would be. Service forwarded me photos and an estimate for $7200. Obviously I was nervous but at the same time, didn't see how my warranty could not cover this repair. Northtown called me a few days later to tell me that Kia had denied coverage and that I was responsible for the repair. I am still trying to work with Kia to resolve this because my vehicle was maintained and this is a common issue as anyone can see by doing a simple google search. I didn't appreciate how Northtown service spoke to me as though I was at fault. They remained adamant that Kia was solely responsible for the denial of warranty coverage but I felt that they had a major hand in the fate of this decision. Come to find out, I spoke to Kia and they informed me that the first denial came from the dealership. I have asked for the service department to send me the reports that were submitted to Kia on my behalf because I want to know what the communication has been between them regarding my vehicle. I was told that they could only send me the photos again and the invoice sent to Kia but that the actual reports included "proprietary information" and could not be released to me unless Kia approved the release. It's not right that they wrote a report on my behalf and I cannot see what it says. I have left a message for the General Manager of Northtown Kia (Eric Nelson) and have yet to hear back from him; I must not matter because I'm not a customer. I also asked who the owner was and was told that I'm not allowed to know who the owner is unless I have a "good reason". Northtown also recently called to remind me that my vehicle was there waiting on a decision. Yes, thank you. Just leased the new Kia Niro through Northtown Kia. The facility is outstanding and we were welcomed by a friendly customer service representative and allowed to look around without pressure until we asked to see a sales person. When we were ready to discuss purchasing a vehicle we were assisted by Kia sales representative Christina. We were interested in the Kia Niro and Hyundai Sonata and Christina was very knowledgeable about both vehicles. After deciding on the Kia Niro, we decided to lease because of the incredible lease special which provided us with 12k per year and a monthly payment of $89 for 24 months. The actual selling price of the vehicle was under dealer invoice and then reduced even further by a $2500 manufacture's rebate. Christina was outstanding through out the process and very attentive to our needs and request. Due to a paperwork error because of our vehicle (which had to be transferred from another dealer) having a slightly higher MSRP due to the color of the vehicle, we had to return to Northtown Kia to resign a new lease agreement. For the inconvenience the finance manager Mike provided us with a free oil change as well as an option to lower our lease payment by a few dollars or to purchase a lease protection plan at half cost.
