I have bought my last three cars from Kia. Had them transfer me to the Mazda store. They told me that they would squeeze it in that day. Had it back four hours later. This is the first time I've experienced bad business with northtown. Generally I praise them on their service and business practice. This time around I was sadly disappointed. My tire pressure gage was going off and I have experienced this issue before when my tire sensors were cracked so thinking it's the same issue I took it in and they advised me yes it's definitely the back sensors I paid $323 I was completely find with that price(and my vehicle was with northtown for 3 days), but 34 miles later the gage comes back on, and I took it back in. Northtown had my vehicle for another 3 days and I'm completely OK with this. On the 2nd day I was called and advised in order to figure out what the issue was they had to call for mazda support and verify why the gage keeps on coming on cause they have replaced the sensors. Well I was advised that I had to pay 141.38 to just get this information . They advised me the sensors were the issue the first time around now I am being charged for a diagnostics test. I find it almost criminal to charge someone twice for the same issue that was not caught the first time. This will be my last time going for service at Northtown unless there is a recall on items in my vehicle, and I will never purchase another vehicle from Northtown. Invoice # 228842 read more

I took my 2003 Mazda Protege to this shop to fix a P0300, random cylinder misfire code. The car was deemed "fixed" four times but the same code kept coming back. The top mechanics were so lost that they had to discuss the problem with the Mazda engineers for two weeks. After my car spent 55 of 92 days in the shop they finally checked the spark plugs and found that I had "the wrong sized spark plugs." I spend $1333 for what ended up being a $20 fix. This is the definition of incompetence. To add insult to injury, one of the service reps backed my car into another vehicle when he was pulling it into their shop. In 11 years my car has never been in an accident until I brought it to this shop. They fixed the damage but my car has now lost $500-$750 in resell value. But to be fair, they didn't charge me labor ($25) to replace a part that I didn't need. I will never go back to this shop, not even for an oil change. If you value your car, your money and your time do not take your vehicle to this shop. read more

I went to Northtown because I got in a bad accident with my Mazda and needed a new lease, I called on Friday and they set me up with Joe, who contacted me to set up a time and when I got there Saturday he had the car I wanted in the color I liked already pulled up for a test drive. It ended up being to pricey for me but I went with the new Mazda 3 which I love, they were super friendly and helped me out to figure out prices since I wasn't financially ready to lease a new car. There were good deals going on and the sales manager helped me out as well, Joe and him were both super friendly and took their time, I even kept Joe over an hour past closing but he didn't care and was happy to stay to make sure everything was complete. I'm very happy with the service I got, all the staff was friendly and patient! I will be going back here when my lease is up! read more

Stopped by to lease a Mazda. While I was impressed with the beautiful facility, I was concerned with a business practice and want to bring it to the attention of other consumers. My concern is that they try to run your credit within 5 min. of sitting down to discuss your needs. They put a form in front of you requesting your social security number and other information necessary to run credit. I hadn't even seen a vehicle yet! I refused to provide this information as you should too. Every time your credit is run it negatively affects your credit score. No one needs to provide a social security number or credit report to go shopping. When I asked why they do this they replied it was so they could give me a better price if I had good credit. I do but I am not interested in participating in this. In then end, I looked at a few vehicles but leased elsewhere. read more

I was told that a sales manager would be there to help us turn in our lease. It turns out they were closed. Alex just so happened to be over there and took the time to help us. I have to admit, I heard a lot about Northtown what with their sponsorship of the Sabres, BIlls, and Rick's Tally Ho golf tournament. Thus, when it came to purchasing a car I figured who better to visit? Well, my presumptions were pleasantly vindicated. My salesman Chris, the receptionist Margie, the floor manager Willie, and even the Phone operator LeCretia and Raisel, the typist were all extremely friendly and courteous. Now, you make ask why, if everything was so pleasant am I giving them only a three star review? Well, I figure that the next time they remodel the place they should install sound-proof partitions. Really? Sound proof partitions? What's up with that? Well, allow me to regale you with this tale: It seems that when I was enjoying the mastery of my new CX-5's technological devices another customer seemed quite upset. As it turns out (from what I could hear quite clearly, in fact, I think they heard her all the way down at New Era field. But, I digress...) Anyway, while I was hooking up my devices via the wonderful Blue tooth tech the other person was having a problem with hers. As she kept trying to hook up her Blue tooth device mine was working fine. Then, I streamed a song from my Blaupunkt Hachimichi Mp4 player and lo and behold, it ended up playing on the disgruntled customer's CX-5! After I discovered that then things got fun. Well, I found this quite curious and anxiously disconnected my device from her vehicle. Then, I heard her say that she spent a lot of money on the lease of the vehicle. It was then I decided to have some more fun. The Rhodes scholar leased her vehicle and then had the nerve to torture this poor dealership as though she had really spent money on a purchase. I proceeded to continually connect and disconnect my device to her CX-5 then. As she became more agitated with her vehicle I then continued to stream different songs to hers. Of course, after a few more incidents her level of anger escalated and the next thing I heard her say was that she was going to file a complaint with the attorney General of New York and claim Lemon Law. Lemon Law, can you imagine? All because her phone wouldn't connect? I then decided to go for the touchdown and streamed Elton John's "The B**** is Back" on to her CX-5. Needless to say, quite the fireworks proceeded. You know what? After retelling this tale to all of you I feel better. In fact, I'm going to change my review to five stars. After all, the people at the dealership were great, it's not their fault they have to deal with intelligence challenged people. I think what the aforementioned customer could really use was a Blue tooth marital aid. Maybe then she would have a better disposition in life. I recommend Northtown Mazda wholeheartedly! read more

Worked with Jake Stewart to lease my 2014 Mazda 3i Sport. Jake was extremely helpful and knowledgable & worked hard throughout the entire process. Unlike some other dealerships he actually seemed interested in my wants and making a deal work for me. I was by no means the easiest customer to work with even not responding to emails/call for days at a time, but Jake was never overly pushy and in the end that coupled with an unbeatable deal, where Northtown basically came down and met all my terms, won my business in the end. We had a great experience last weekend at Northtown Mazda. Our sales associate Matt Clark was very knowledgeable and personable and made the experience easy for us. After car shopping all day, we had not planned on buying right away, but Matt gave us an option that we decided to go for. Slight downside was the training we got at the end on some of the technical features, which was pretty much glossed over by a technical employee. You may have seen my previous 1 star rating. I am updating this now because it went from one of the worst experiences I have ever had to the BEST. The General Manager Erik Nelson took to the time to reach out to me and fully empathized with my experience. Erik took the time to hear me out and without question sprung into action asking me to come in and give them a second chance with a new sales rep Tim Park, Tim with hands down the best sales consultant I have ever had. He took the time to listen to my needs and went through the car I wanted top to bottom. He wouldn't let me purchase until he knew I loved the car and that is the sign of someone who cares about his customers. In the end I could not be happier with the service and deal I received. I loved going to Northtown Mazda! I have had such a hard time deciding what car was the right fit for me. I lost my car due to an expensive blown head gasket and took a month relying on the kindness of others for a ride. Finally- I decided it was time- I had enough $ in the bank to put down a reasonable down payment. I went looking for a lease- but I did not qualify- Chris and Mike helped me out find the most affordable purchase for me that was inside my budget. I didn't feel pressured or unqualified at all! Instead, I felt comfortable and welcomed by all the staff. The purchase and paperwork was quick and Chris even delivered my new car that afternoon. They helped me get a good deal with the bank and even worked with me on getting the best warranty possible for the least amount of money. I am so grateful to them for helping me make the best financial decision I have ever made. Since becoming a first time Mazda owner, my experience with Northtown has been amazing. I bought the car specifically for the gas mileage but I never realized how much I could actually save. I travel frequently and I always ask for them to check it over and recommend anything that needs to be done. The last time I took my car in I thought I would need to change my cabin air filter, get a tire rotation and change my oil. The technician said due to the low miles I drive during the week, I did not need to get anything done. It was nice to know they weren't just going to do unnecessary work on my car just to make a dollar. Truly customer first business and trustworthy with a Mazda trained technician. read more

I don't even know where to begin with this scumbag dealership. I contacted them about a 2014 Lexus is350 priced at 25,000$ The car has been on my saved list on CarGuru who then sent me an email about the price drop of 2G$ My sales rep Michael "Mick" Bellus contacted me immediately answered my questions and I explained to him that I live 8 hours away so the majority of our business would have to be done via phone or email. A day later I see the price back at 27000$ I call Mick and explained to him that I was only interested in the car for the price I saw listed at 25G$ and he explained to me how he market fluctuates but he would do his best to honor it. A few days later I sent in my cosigner's credit info and Mick let me know he received it. I didn't hear from him for 3 days after that and on the 4th day he apologize for the delay he hasn't done anything yet because he needed my credit info as well. Annoyed but still eager I sent in my info immediately. Another two days go by and then I get the approval from mick but the monthly rate was was higher than I anticipated. I asked him what's the APR% and he didn't know he would have to find out which was an odd response to me and then I asked him how much did he price the vehicle at and he says 27G$ aggravated now but still calm I explain to him AGAIN that I was only interested for the price of 25G$ he replies that he doesn't really know where I'm getting this price of 25G$ so I sent him a screenshot of the price drop and he said it was a computer glitch. BS but I give hi the benefit of the doubt while still sticking to my guns. A day later he calls me saying they'll honor the price but only if I agree to pay for a 2500$ 50,000 mile warranty. I told him I didn't want the warranty but I'm still his guy if he was willing to sell me the car with out it at the agreed price of 25G$ A few days later he texts me saying his managers just won't do it with out the warranty and I said no problem let me see what kind of loan I could get my own and I'll let you know. Texted him a few days later saying I was just waiting on approval for my loan. I received no answer. The next day I see the car priced back at 25G$ online. My first thought was oh another computer glitch and then 2 day later it's still the same price so I text mick asking him what's up with that and he claim to be out of the office that day but not only that he didn't have good phone service to get in contact with the dealership to find out he said he would let me know first thing tomorrow. At noon the next day I text Mick asking what's going on and he replies with someone else already put s deposit down the vehicle is no longer available. I wrote him a very long message explaining how upset I was about this entire situation and forget apologizing he never even responded but what else is new. So I review the dealership on their website and wrote pretty much the same thing. They apologize and said they would be in contact. A hour later I checked again and my review was removed. Not only did I have to chase this guy to sell me car if he just let me know that someone new was interested I would of put a deposit down myself via online and the fact that the dealership removed my review to keep their 5 stars it's bullshit if you check CarGuru they have 2.5 stars and 3.5 stars on yelp. What a scumbag dealership this is. Try removing this review this time! read more

Ordered a rear hatch actuator on a sat said they would call on Tuesday when it came in .... they did not I called them on wed the part came in so I picked it up only to find it was the glass actuator not the hatch so reorder the correct part called them on Tuesday and was told it got shipped to Chicago and will be in on Friday so two weeks and two trips to their location and they still haven't got it right would never buy another part from them I can only imagine how their service department works would not recommend them for ANYTHING read more

An "Eek! Methinks not! " yelp rating can not express the horrible customer service I experienced at Northtown Mazda in Amherst, NY!! I had attempted to purchased a red Mazda CX-5 within the last @month. I usually do not write online reviews. However, I felt that my horrible experience should be shared. The wheeling & dealing of price negotiations seems to be "normal" now-a-days. This management team's philosophy of selling a vehicle was the WORST I've experienced and after many attempts to work out a deal, I walked out!!! I dealt with three managers at Northtown Mazda. The lack of communication and lying or shall I say lack of communication between all three managers over a few weeks time was unacceptable and they should be embarassed!!! How can a new vehicle's monthly payment drastically change over a few weeks time with all three managers. This Mazda CX-5's price ranged from @$330.00 to $389.00. I was offered a price of $350.00 by Mazda manager and because he did not write this price down as he stated he would, I was told that I had no proof- which I understand... so they offered me a deal of $359.00. Therefore, because of the poor customer service from management of wheeling and dealing I did not accept the deal. On a positive side note, the sales representative was extremely professional and a pleasure to work with. I had questioned "Joe", the salesman involved from the beginning of this transaction: "How can a vehicle's price drastically change within a few weeks time?" He was shocked and promised he would do anything he can to help and he did! THANK YOU, JOE!!! Joe followed through with updates on the transcation and returned all phone calls throughout the few weeks of attempting to work out a deal. If Northtown Mazda's management team feels comfortable treating customers as such I can not imagine how they treat their employees! The management team should take lessons from this salesman "Joe" pertaining to how customers should be treated. It was upsetting to walk away from a vehicle I really liked, but I did. I would have loved to give a final vehicle sale to the salesman by the name of Joe but could not get over the fact of how management treated a customer. By all means the $9.00 difference in the monthly payment offered was not of concern, it was the process of how the management came up with the monthly payment of $359.00 for this Mazda CX-5!!! This has to be the worst experience I've ever had to deal with when leasing a car. The excuses that came along with how the "management team" priced this vehicle was unacceptable! They stated that they were losing money on the deal. They also stated they needed to remove all vehicles ASAP to make room for the new building complex in progress of being built. One manager in particular stated they had the vehicle elsewhere but would cost me, the customer, extra money to go get the vehicle from another dealer. If that was the case, is this why the vehicle's pricing jumped from @ low $300.00-$389.00? I continued my vehicle shopping elsewhere, in particular at Northtown Toyota. After listening to my story of this Mazda experience, this Toyota manager on duty attempted to contact a manager at Northtown Mazda after learning the Rav 4 wasn't for me stating he would do what he can to keep a sale within the Northtown business. I agreed for him to call the Mazda location but explained how difficult the Mazda management team was. Upon completion of this phone call, the Toyota manager's non-verbal skills prooved the Mazda's management team was difficult to work with. The Toyota manager remained professional and explained how he can not tell another management team within Northtown how to run their store. He to could not understand why the monthly payment difference of $9.00 could not be worked out but again remained professional asking me if there was anything else he could do for me. I appreciated his attempt to call anyway. The conversation relayed to me when this Toyota manager contacted the Mazda manager upon completion of this phone call was that Mazda management will cut me a deal for $359.00 a month. I explained once again that I was offered that price prior to him calling Mazda and that it was not a "deal." I mentioned again to this Toyota dealer that I was offered a price of $350.00 and that $359.00 which included the possible fee to pick up the vehicle from another dealer. AGAIN, it was not about the $9.00 difference in monthly payment that I did not accept this deal- it was how this Mazda management team attempted to handle this transaction! I REMAIN EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED WITH THE NORTHTOWN MAZDA MANAGEMENT TEAM!!! read more

Overall everything went well. Everyone was very friendly from the Front Desk Greeter to the Salesperson, Financial to the Service Dept to even the Tech person. Everything was explained well and the vehicle has been very pleasant to drive. Only reason they don't get 5 stars was after all was being explained technically (they sync up your phone for you) we realized I did not have the Nav chip in the vehicle. One last thing they could improve on having the vehicle cleaned, there was a McDonald's has brown wrapped left in the glove box. read more

I have had to step in and assist my Daughter straighten out a lease after the Dealership made a date-related mistake on the lease. Now, 7 weeks after delivery of her Mazda CX-5 she still does not have a lease account, a lease statement by which to pay her lease, a customer service rep who has now stopped returning her calls. I tried assisting her through the Dealership and received zero assistance right off the bat. The sales rep's voicemail is now shut off, the evening receptionist didn't know what his extension was, I asked to speak to an associate manager so that I could set up a time to drive the 30 minutes from our home to the Dealership. But I was told that an ass manager would not be speaking with me tonight. I guess I am spoiled after my 22 car purchase history I have only had a couple that are this indifferent to customer satisfaction. I have cancelled my morning appointments to drive the 30 minutes to the Dealership, that's Northtown Mazda in Buffalo. So despite my efforts to contain this within NORTHTOWN MAZDA IN BUFFALO, I found I had to have a case opened up at Mazda USA as no one would return my Daughter's call most recently and prior to that the people apparently were just ineffective. Well we will see what Mazda USA can do. So much for her first leasing experience. read more

Very honest mechanics! We had just finished vaca in Niagara Falls and were returning to Florida. Our car konked out on 190 hwy and we were towed in. (we'd just had a major repair months prior and it seemed to be repeating past problem) It was a very busy Saturday afternoon. Yet we received quick attention b/c they knew we were in a bad situation. Unbelievably our car simply began working. (These people could have started replacing things and charging us as we were pretty helpless.) Anyway, it was a very stressful time, and we were quickly serviced and treated w/ honesty. (and given a great lunch suggestion of Duff's!) We made it home without further incident!! Service department is absolutely fantastic, never had an issue and exceptional customer service! Sales on the other hand, different story. A guy from Mazda said he could get me a lease from Northtown Dodge. I originally went to Mazda because I figured they could give me the highest value for my 2015 Mazda CX-5, which I have always taken to Northtown for every repair and oil change as well as my family. The sales rep told me I could get 12,900 for my vehicle. I explained to him that the price of the 3 year lease had to add up to 12,900 since thats how much money they were giving me for it. Id have no other reason for my lease payments needing to add up to that amount. After him asking me to switch my insurance cards over, leaving me with an uninsured vehicle, and asking me to prepare him a $400 dollar check for the first lease month plus registration, I asked him about getting my check and he mentioned that I wasn't getting a check cause the 12,900 was "worked into the deal". So basically, he's expecting me to use my car make a 12,900 down payment plus my $400 check plus pay $331 a month for a Dodge Ram with a V8. Who in their right mind would spend nearly $25,000 to lease a pickup truck for 3 years!!! Talked to GM of both Mazda and Dodge and there was nothing they could do to honor the original deal, and they tried offering my $178 a month for a lower model yet still saying I couldn't get a check back for my car. If you were planning on keeping my 12,900 car and the check for that car then why do you need my $400?!? Switched my insurance cards back over and now I'm back to square 1. Never ever referring any more business clients or friends, and my big Italian family will not be renewing any of their leases from Northtown. Absolutely awful and deceiving. read more

First of all, I just want to say Thank You to Michelle !! After a little fiasco with my sister trying to buy a Kia ( Sales person was Chris ). Michelle contacted me and asked me what happen. After explaining the event that happened and said that I wanted to come in and lease a Mazda CX5 but thought orher wise because of what did happen. Michelle convinced me to come in and set me up with a sales manager - Matt. Matt assured me that the sales person would take care of me- Joe Falletta . And Joe was great ! Worked with me and got me out of the Ford Fusion SE lease that I regretted 1 month after being in it. Joe was very professional, easy to talk to, and most of all wasn't pushy. The deal was very quick, no hassles, and done very efficiently and again very professionally. Just want to say A big Thank You to Joe (and Michelle ) for getting me into the 2016 Mazda CX5.
