4.75 stars. Northwest Beerwerks is awesome! First, they have an extensive collection of beers from around the PNW in cans. Second, their draft list offers a variety of beers at a good price. Third, they have an awesome outdoor area. Fourth, and this is worth stressing for businesses in Oregon and Washington, they are INDOOR dog friendly! Yes, they don't have an internal kitchen and this decision is precisely why your furry friend doesn't have to die in the cold or get wet in the rain. Only suggestion I really have is it would be great to see a few more options for beer brewed outside the PNW (of course, this is NW Beerwerks so I get it). But seriously, this place is great and you and your hopefully very friendly dog should frequent it. read more

Such a great place to stop and enjoy beer or beer tasting! They offer flights of 4 from the on tap selection which changes frequently depending on the season. There's so much seating in front, inside at the bar, inside at the nook rooms (it's a house converted to a tap room), as well are more outside seating on the side and in the back! The barstools are lovely and heavy. So sturdy and comfortable for being iron and wood. The service is always friendly and welcoming, offering suggestions and will go out of their way to try and locate a beer if you were looking for something specific (they may just have more in stock in their storage area so don't be afraid to ask if you want a beer that you don't see in the coolers for can/bottle purchase). This is just a great place to relax and enjoy! There's food trucks next door but I'm not sure what their hours are. I was there Sunday in the afternoon and the food trucks were closed. But you can bring in outside food anyway and don't have to rely on just those trucks. read more

Cool spot. Idk how I have missed this place all these years, but finally stopped in. Saw some food trucks on the corner and decided to stop and try one for lunch. Decided that we could just eat our lunch over at Beerwerks. When we walked in there was not a soul insight. Started browsing and someone came upstairs from their storage area. Asked her if they did tastes (as other reviews have specified that they dont), and she said yes. We tried a few and decided on our pours. It was a bit cold and gloomy out and was told there was a fire pit out back. We did some walking around and saw that there are many little seating areas to hang out with your friends in. We decided on a covered seating area with a fire table. Couldnt get the first one to light, like the starter didnt work. Couldnt get the second one to work, may have been out of propane. We went inside and told her about not being able to get the fire going. She was like oh one needs a lighter and provided us with one. She also said they have blankets if we are cold. We were then able to go back out and start our fire and chill out a little while we ate our food. The food was not very good (from the smokehouse bbq truck)...but the beer was good and the fire was a nice touch. Lady behind the counter did not seem very engaging, or friendly. Maybe she was having a blah day. We plan on coming back--hopefully the weather will be nicer and we can pick a better food truck. read more

This place is pretty dope. Olympia/Lacey area could use a place like this for sure. Oly tap isnt too far away but competition is always good and more options is never a bad thing. They have a lot of seating and cool little areas to drink. They have excellent tap selection and my god some of their older barrel aged stuff is ridiculous. I saw a 2018 rusty nail. I've always driven by this place and wanted to stop. I finally went with a friend and now I've dubbed this as my favorite place to relax and chill. It is apparently there are "regulars" but people are friendly and chatty in this open seating concept. There are opportunities to share a table and get to know someone or grab an lawn chair and sit back and people watch. No food is served here, just wine and beer. The tap list is always different. This is a brand-new (as of this writing) beer bar that definitely gives Oly a new splash of variety on the beer scene. They focus on finding the rarest and most-interesting kegs they can get their hands on. They have a beefy tap list and a half dozen coolers as well. Most interestingly, they have taken over an old house and turned it into a real business. It might actually be the most convincing transformation of residential real estate into a cool business that I've seen. They're up on the hill on the east side of downtown. There are tons of all different kinds of businesses all around here, and the busy street on the south side of the building runs straight out to the freeway. Despite all this nearby activity, the house setting makes it feel very private and even like a bit of a friendly treehouse club meeting. There's a bit of parking out front, and there's a gravel lot behind the building. The front door has a couple of landings as you move up the slope from the street. This makes the place feel as much like a home as anything else about the place--the steps and railings feel like they're original to the house. From the outside, you still see the gables and eaves that make it the little bungalow that it is, but as soon as you see the glass in the door and look inside, you know it's a completely professional and very new beer bar. There's blond wood on the floor, big windows on three sides, and on a sunny day it was very bright and cheerful inside. There are a few seating areas--a nice mix of heavy wooden tables and benches alongside overstuffed leather chairs and a sofa. There are several different areas where a group of friends can have their own space, and there's a big sunny deck out back that they're working with the city to license for service. Can't sit out there just yet, but by the time you read this that may have changed. The coolers are not totally packed, but they have a nice selection of good stuff. Still, after being open only eight weeks, they have filled six coolers nearly full with a nice lineup of bottles, so it seems likely that they will fill these much fuller before too much longer. You can crack any bottle in the coolers, or take it home. There's no charge to crack a bottle in the bar. The bar is the centerpiece of the whole place, of course. It runs along the long outside wall, with a nice barback and wall of taps. They offer 6 and 9 ounce tasters along with pints, in a sensible small variety of glasses. This isn't the place to come for a huge variety of glassware, but the variety of beers is spectacular. You sit on gigantically heavy custom-made barstools, with hand-welded legs under seats that look like butcher blocks. And then there's the taplist--two dozen beers focused on Washington breweries. They featured two breweries that were so new they didn't appear on most of the more-common lists of Washington breweries, as well as plenty of interesting kegs from tiny newer breweries in the south Sound and southwest Washington. They really do the legwork to find cool stuff. They also feature a few more-familiar names from Seattle's brewery scene, and up and down the west coast. Not too many from farther away than that, though. And that's really cool. Emphasizing the local goods gives the place a great feel. The staff are incredibly well-informed and super friendly. The manager has extensive brewery experience himself, which goes to show how closely connected these guys are to the industry and the scene. The prices are very fair, and there's nothing about this place that you would change. It's a long drive for me from home to here, but I can easily see return visits in my future. read more

The previous business owner kept the place pretty nice but the house has undergone a remodel which definitely gives it a more modern and polished look in addition to outside seating in their yard. Northwest Beerwerks got me drunk and that is good. The service seems...confused and agitated, but nice...if they don't know you. Many, many beers. I did not know these beers. I wanted to drink these beers...and I did. Any establishment that doesn't sell a Miller or Budweiser product is a place that you need to visit....often. In order to minimize the drunkenness, Beerwerks has a food truck outside. This is a good idea. They often have cider and root beer and all kinds of other stuffs. I like the food trucks outside and the outdoor space as well. This is the only place of its kind on the East side. Come as you are; off The Hill or from under the car. If you like any kind of beer, the staff will help you find something to your liking. IPA knowledge spoken here as well as other hop vernacular. However, don't be intimidated to ask questions, everyone has a helpful opinion to help out. The small meeting room allows you to stream your device to the TV, otherwise it is a social and fun place and not just a "bar". WARNING: If your eyes are bad you might be in for an unexpected amount on your bill. I had been coming here for awhile when I was in town. The only beer menu is on an electronic board behind the bar. It changes occasionally. Generally the beers are available in various sizes, so you can get, for example, a 2 oz pour for $2, a 9 oz pour for $3 and a 16 oz pour for $5. Some of them are also available as a growler at (again as an example) $15 for 64 oz. My experience had been everything in the 16 oz range was about $4-$6. Then I ordered the Almanac Blackberry Gose and was admittedly surprised to find it cost $15 for the 16 oz glass (???!!?) when I got my bill. Seriously? Obviously in the long run my fault. However, the screen is a little far away and the writing a bit small. I just assumed the $15 was the growler price. Anyway, be aware. I sort of complained a bit at the time but they didn't change the bill or anything. Otherwise it's a nice play for a cold beer. read more
