They don't charge an arm and a leg for the 'burg, either, like SOME places do. Beer selection is good, especially the ciders. Something for everybody. There's live music pretty often too. Service is stellar. Helpful staff, friendly like. My old lady ordered a drink and was accidentally poured the wrong beverage. The 'tender apologized and offered to let us have the correct libation along with the mis-poured soldier--no charge. Now THAT'S service. I'll see you again, Ilk Lodge.

The table we sat at was on a slight slope, but not annoying enough for us to move. There was only one server working. All orders went through the bar. Great selection of beer and ciders. The menu was limited. It is pub grub. Went with a smash burger fries and onion rings. Food came out and it looked great. The fries and onion rings were lukewarm warm to cold. I have been told many times that their smash burger is the best burger in Olympia. I don't see it. It's the 2nd time I have had it, the spices are stronger than expected. Edges of my patty were burnt, and it relies on the sauce to make up for taste. It's not a bad burger, but it isn't amazing either. My wife was not impressed at all, and told me she won't be needing to go back. For me, I won't be disappointed if I end up back at this place. But I also won't be making the choice to go back. Maybe for beers...

Ambiance is korean pocha/late night bar setting and they are open until 2am! There's limited seating during their busy hours so definitely come earlier if you can. Lots of parking outside. Everytime I visit here, I ALWAYS get the creamy bulgolgi udon. This dish is super unique and I've never seen it elsewhere. The sauce is so flavorful and pairs perfectly with the bouncy/chewy udon and well marinated bulgolgi. The pork belly kimchi udon is good as well if you like a spicy kick. We also ordered the half and half fried chicken (original and yangnyeom) and it was perfectly crispy and juicy on the inside! My friend enjoyed the spicy seafood stir fry which paired well with a bottle of soju but they also have lots of other drinks (nonalcoholic) to choose from! after a long night out or just for a casual lunch/dinner-- definitely a go to spot for me.

We ordered the japchae, honey garlic Korean fried chicken, regular fried chicken, rose udon with pork belly, and a few bottles of soju. Honestly, this is the kind of food that tastes better when you are drinking. If you came here strictly for the food, you might think it was just decent, but as Korean bar food or a midnight bite, it works really well. The chicken was satisfying, the rose udon was rich and comforting, and everything paired nicely with the soju. Is it the best Korean food I have ever had? No. But with decent food, good company, and a few drinks, it makes for a genuinely fun night. I would probably come back for the atmosphere and late-night experience, although I am not sure I would specifically crave any one dish.

Terrible parking - had to circle a couple times for street parking. Place had maybe 8 total people so not busy. Went up to Server/Cashier near front to let her know I was there for pickup and was immediately told "The servers like it when you stand by the table" in a mildly pretentious tone. No "Hi" or "How can I help you?" This is downtown Olympia so typical establishment behavior. Not surprised. Place was clean and very nicely decorated.Took about 5 minutes to get my pizza which was surprisingly quick. The Pizza I generally like my pizzas crisp and this was not even close. Very soggy, and not much flavor (Pepperoni, sausage, mushrooms, olives). This was thin crust so that potentially had something to do with taste and texture. I would compare this Pizza to what you get at MOD. It's not too bad, but not too good. Average at best and I expected a lot better. Cost was about normal (14" pizza and bread appetizer for $50 plus tax). Marinara sauce for bread was delicious. All in all, it wasn't a terrible experience. It's by no means gourmet or fancy pizza. Perhaps the rest of their menu is better. Server needs to chill out and brush up on her customer service skills. 3 stars at best.
