Fedex - How much do you have to mistreat a package to look like this?

    Fedex

    (184 reviews)

Through persistent efforts I was able to get from the web a local phone number for the Fedex hub at…read moreTroutdale, OR serving the Portland metro area. My attitude admittedly was not positive. My package (camera from NY) had been sitting in Troutdale since the early morning hours of Monday and it is now Friday. From using the Fedex tracking system, I had gone from scheduled delivery on Tuesday, to scheduled delivery on Wednesday to "no scheduled delivery" by Wednesday evening through Thursday. Fedex's tracking system is very frustrating too work with and obscures accurate information and contact methods. So you get the point I was not a happy camper when after a short wait I was able to get through to the Fedex hub manager in Troutdale. What I found was a stressed by very courteous and professional response by the manager as we worked through our conversation. He and his crew had just endured the most difficult week in his 15 year tenure at Troutdale. I am located in Mosier near Hood River in the Gorge. We had lot of snow but not ice. The manager patiently explained to me that he had trailers frozen by ice that took 3 days and $200,000 to get freed up. He had employees stranded there for 72 hours. The ice storm had been horrific at the west end of the Gorge. Traffic was moving fine on I84 but that did not help Fedex in Troutdale. After explaining the the background, Josh, the supervisor's name gave me a firm estimate when they would get to the trailer my camera is located in and arranged for me to pick it up at the sub station in The Dalles so I wouldn't have to depend on local delivery, tomorrow, Saturday. Some things to note. Josh is faced by similar frustrations as customers with Fedex web services. They give him no method of putting out real information of what it's like on location. Second, and most importantly, Josh could have passed me off to another employee. Instead he responded with respect, courtesy and a professional response to address my concern. I have every confidence that he provides good leadership to his crew and inspires good work effort on their part. I salute Josh and now empathize with the conditions he and his crew work under. Thanks for reading.

I have had EVERY FedEx package that EVER landed here result in a refund from the seller due to never delivered. They ALL said they left the facility and were in transit. Must be a black hole just outside of town. Because it sucks the packages into "Bills" house for listing on eBay.

I have been a customer of this business for years, and generally had few complaints until today…read more Earlier today I received an email indicating I am about to be charged for storage which I found strange since I just cleared my mail box out. I logged in, and was prompted to sign an agreement to new terms. I read through the agreement, and says I need to indemnify the business, and agree to mandatory binding arbitration. I then attempted to select my mail so that all of my current mail could be deleted, but the website wouldn't let me do this unless I agreed to mandatory arbitration. I have no intention of signing such an agreement. My experience with arbitration agreements suggest the perpetrator plans on robbing you, or doing something illegal, but doesn't want to pay for that so he/she sticks an arbitration agreement into your contract so that you have no access to the courts. I have no intention of signing such an agreement, and neither should you! I have complained to Mitch who owns this place, and waiting for his response. I no longer feel safe using this company, and will begin looking for someone else. I have been with this company for many years, and only received the request for mandatory arbitration on 06-02-24.

Navis Pack & Ship - building a protective crate for a valuable shipment

    Navis Pack & Ship

    (10 reviews)

    Argay, Northeast Portland

Zero stars. Do not hire. They do not "pack" anything. They do not know how…read more We hired 3 packers today for six hours, they "finished" in less than 3 hours and we are now left with a horrible mess that the loaders cannot load as packed. Who will fix their terrible "work" before the loaders come to move these boxes? There is no time :( They made more work for us, despite us telling them we are ill and this move is an emergency medical move. THEY REFUSED TO LISTEN TO ME AND WOULD ONLY LISTEN TO MY HUSBAND. I HIRED THEM TOO, I AM PAYING THEM TOO, THIS IS MY STUFF THEY PACKED TODAY TOO. Nope, the "little lady" was told they only know how to work one way. This meant that our plan of my husband being on the main floor to direct and help, and me being on the lower floor to direct and help, was not possible. They do not work with you, they work against you. So I will tell you that their one way of "working" is to sweep everything into huge boxes, they do not PACK. What you will be treated to are things like: Example 1: boxes like a 3-foot tall wardrobe box filled to the top with all bathroom items dumped in together, open pump bottles of lotion mixed with digital electronic items, soap, tweezers, toothbrush, everything from every nook dumped into one 3ft tall wardrobe box. Example 2: in packing your family's camping / outdoor gear, they will literally pack the little green canisters of camping propane in with your gear. They DO NOT HAVE ANY IDEA OF WHAT CAN DESTROY ALL OF YOUR BELONGINGS OR WHAT SHOULD NOT OR CANNOT GO INTO THE SAME BOX, OR WHAT CANNOT BE SHIPPED AT ALL. Example 3: Do not bother buying and showing them the flat screen monitor static sleeve covers and Flat Screen Monitor boxes for that purpose, marked TV and FRAGILE, so that the loaders will load and handle your monitors appropriately -- they will respond with nonsense that for them to pack flat screen monitors in boxes they'd have to take the monitors back to their company. They will not use your expensive packing materials for your monitors, THEY WILL REFUSE. Then they will tape one medium-weight moving blanket around a Flat Screen monitor and say it is optimal packing...even though the loaders and movers and unloaders won't know what it is or that it is fragile, so they will have no way of knowing how to handle the item appropriately. You will end up like us, using time and effort you don't have to untape their so-called "work" to then pack your fragile expensive items in your own specialty boxes yourself, because they refuse to do their job. They told us ahead of time they would use our boxes. THEY WILL DEFINITELY ENCLOSE EVERYTHING IN CARDBOARD, BUT THEY CANNOT PACK. They will refuse any suggestion or direction from their "clients," they will lord over you and make a mess of your things. DO NOT HIRE THIS OUTFIT. It would take new packers at least 5 times longer to undo and redo what they were actually hired to do in the first place. We do not have time, unfortunately. Do not invite this nightmare into your cross-country medical move to save your life (hopefully - fingers crossed). They do not respect clients, they will not respect your things, they will make your need greater by expanding problems rather than helping eliminate them. Their attitude is contrary overall, and they act like they're doing you a favor, make more problems than they solve because they do not pack anything, then they cut out on their "job" early. When hourly workers would rather go fast to attain unpaid free time than work slowly for the six hours you hired the three of them with pay, this tells you how bad this company treats their workers. It starts at the top. Worse than hiring no one.
