Through persistent efforts I was able to get from the web a local phone number for the Fedex hub at Troutdale, OR serving the Portland metro area. My attitude admittedly was not positive. My package (camera from NY) had been sitting in Troutdale since the early morning hours of Monday and it is now Friday. From using the Fedex tracking system, I had gone from scheduled delivery on Tuesday, to scheduled delivery on Wednesday to "no scheduled delivery" by Wednesday evening through Thursday. Fedex's tracking system is very frustrating too work with and obscures accurate information and contact methods. So you get the point I was not a happy camper when after a short wait I was able to get through to the Fedex hub manager in Troutdale. What I found was a stressed by very courteous and professional response by the manager as we worked through our conversation. He and his crew had just endured the most difficult week in his 15 year tenure at Troutdale. I am located in Mosier near Hood River in the Gorge. We had lot of snow but not ice. The manager patiently explained to me that he had trailers frozen by ice that took 3 days and $200,000 to get freed up. He had employees stranded there for 72 hours. The ice storm had been horrific at the west end of the Gorge. Traffic was moving fine on I84 but that did not help Fedex in Troutdale. After explaining the the background, Josh, the supervisor's name gave me a firm estimate when they would get to the trailer my camera is located in and arranged for me to pick it up at the sub station in The Dalles so I wouldn't have to depend on local delivery, tomorrow, Saturday. Some things to note. Josh is faced by similar frustrations as customers with Fedex web services. They give him no method of putting out real information of what it's like on location. Second, and most importantly, Josh could have passed me off to another employee. Instead he responded with respect, courtesy and a professional response to address my concern. I have every confidence that he provides good leadership to his crew and inspires good work effort on their part. I salute Josh and now empathize with the conditions he and his crew work under. This FedEx hub has been our primary carrier location since i've lived in Vancouver. We haven't had any issues with our packages until recently. I recently made an online purchase with Costco that included nuts, chips, cookies and liquid fabric softener. We were notified by Costco that FedEx had damaged the box during transit and they issued me a refund. I was never informed by FedEx of a delay or damaged product. I was quite surprised because it seems like their notifications are updated and sent regularly when you have a package and transit. After Costco issued me a refund, I decided to reorder the exact same products. This time the delivery date kept getting pushed out a day until finally the package was delivered three days after the initial delivery date. I could see that the box was not a normal Costco box, but just a plain brown shipping box with a new label attached. When I opened the box I noticed that my Sun Chips variety pack wasn't in its original packaging and they were all just loosely put in the box with the nuts and cookies I ordered, but no liquid fabric softener. No note or email notification of the missing product. Costco wasn't even notified by fedex about any shipping or delivery changes. I thought it was quite odd. I called Costco and told them what happened. They immediately issued me a refund and re-shipped the liquid fabric softener. I called FedEx to let them know what happened to find out where my liquid fabric softener was and why the chips weren't in the original box, but they were no help at all. After going through their automated service to try and talk to a live person, which was extremely frustrating, they didn't have any information for me. All they told me to do was contact the shipper. I'm not sure what's happening at this FedEx hub, but they need to get someone in there to train employees on not only deliveries, but customer service as well. It's been an extremely disappointing couple of weeks. Way too much time out of my busy day has been contacting both FedEx and Costco to get my shipment issues resolved. I'd give it a zero star if I could. Had someone waiting ALL DAY!! to sign an indirect signature for a package today along with a note on the front door stating " I am home" and also online instructions letting them know someone is home to will sign for it but the driver just stuck a door tag and left without knocking or anything. EVERY SINGLE PACKAGE I have ever had delivered that has gone though this hub has been delayed by several days. Never has happened with any other company anywhere else except this one. They make up excuses as to why a package cant be delivered. My last one said due to weather conditions...its been sunny for 2 weeks...another time they couldnt scan the barcode, but the original barcode was fine when it arrived. especially when I have large items scheduled to be delivered on my day off they show up 3-4 days later or not at all. A package I ordered was shipped via FedEx Ground Economy from Chandler, AZ on February 12, 2025. The final destination is Anchorage, AK. Per the tracking, it traveled from Chandler to Phoenix, AZ, to Mendota, CA, to Eugene, OR, to Breinigsville, PA, to Northampton, PA, to Perrysburg, OH, to Atlantic, IA, to Laramie, WY, to Boise, ID, to Troutdale, OR. After traveling from the west coast to the east coast and back to the west coast, it has been sitting at the facility in Troutdale since February 21. Today is March 3. I have spent a whole lot of time on the phone with several representatives of FedEx (after a frustrating experience trying to bypass automated responses) seeking answers as to why the package stopped moving. They have been of no assistance at all. I have asked the shipper to file a lost package claim and send me a new product via the much more reliable and less expensive USPS (at least for deliveries to Alaska). I had 2 packages coming from the same location, Spokane WA. 1 shipped with UPS the other with Fedex. The UPS package already made it to my home in Chicago area. The Fedex package was delayed in Troutdale at least 6 days so far but probably more as it's still there today on day 6! The problem is made worse by their very uninformative updates. The updates for changes are slow and lacking information. The "arrived at facility" in Troutdale notification was 6 days late and prior to that all the notifications just stated "On the way". They could have at least notified me of delays which would at least resolve any concerns about the package being lost, which they did not do until I called them on day 5 of being stuck in Troutdale. I've lived in Portland for six years, and none of the packages FedEx has handled for me have arrived when they said they would. Whenever I find out one of my packages is coming through the FedEx Troutdale, OR location I regret placing the order. Multiple packages were supposed to arrive this week. The first two were delivered to the wrong address. Another package was scheduled for delivery the next day. The driver's name who dropped my last delivery off at the wrong place was on the delivery tracker for this package, so I wasn't holding my breath. He managed to deliver it to my address this time, but as I watched him walk up to the door on my Ring camera he straight up dropped it with with a thud on the ground. Two more packages were supposed to be delivered today. The online notice said that they were on the truck for delivery this morning, one was loaded at 3:35am and the other at 7:57am. At 8:29am BOTH packages said they were returned to the warehouse for inspection and would be delivered tomorrow. The rest of the items that I am waiting on had delivery dates listed, and now they all show "On the way". We often have packages delivered via the Troutdale FedEx center, but lately there have been several packages misdirected, or damaged, creating extended delays. I read the explanation offered of a staff shortage, but that does not excuse the damage done to packages and the sometimes careless delivery. Originally the package was to be delivered between 8 & 12 then after 12 it jumped to before the end of the day. I sit home all damn day waiting, then I get a notification at 18:00 that it was attempted at 17:15 even though my front door was open and I'm sitting in the living room right next to the door, get no alert on any of my cameras either because they never actually made en attempt to deliver my stuff. Basically they just made me sit here all day for nothing just to decide last minuet not to deliver my shit. As a follow-up the day after this review was made I received another package from FedEx. From the same driver. Who, again, drove over the berm to leave my property once again nearly tipping his truck over. On a positive note, after lodging a complaint with FedEx, I received a callback from the driver's manager who came out to check the damage, offered to help backfill, and asked if my security camera had caught any footage of the driver leaving as he apparently also damaged the truck. I was supposed to receive a package today, with the stipulation that an adult be present for a signature. We've been home all morning with the front door and the garage door open. We even have two contractors working on our house all day, also in and out of the house. We had no deliveries from fedex at any point. I decided to check the status of the delivery at about 1:45 pm. Lo and behold it said they attempted delivery at 1:07 pm. Well, I was at home at 1:07. My wife was in the garage from about 12:50 pm to 2:00 pm, again, with the garage door open. A fedex truck hadn't as much as driven by. Yet, there was a supposed attempted delivery. The driver lied. Lest you think this is a one-off, this scenario has played out several times. Just a couple months ago there was a three day succession where fedex attempted delivery. Each time, at least me or my wife was home at the supposed time of attempted delivery. I don't know if it's a specific driver in my location, or just a culture of not caring for the customer at Troutdale fedex, but judging by the other reviews, it's a pattern of dishonesty. Anytime I order an item on the internet and am given a fedex tracking number, I dread the following week or two of certain phantom delivery attempts and overall hassle of just getting what it is I ordered. We ordered a sauna weighing 182 pounds with the heaviest one being 142 pounds. I waited for the window of delivery waiting much of the day until 3:25pm. All of a sudden I heard a bang sound and I ran out to my fron porch just to see the Fed Ex guy taking off. My 2 packages were leaning up against the garage. He never tried to ring the bell which is up a flight of stairs by our front door which is where we wanted the packages to be delivered. I could have helped him carry them up but being 71 years old there is NO way I could do that myself. I then called right away to Fed Ex and they told me they would contact the station to get another truck out there to help me. I also gave them my number so they could call me. NO calls OR truck showed up! Rain started up and packages were getting wet. After 45 minutes I called again and they reassured me again that they would call the station. Again another 45 minutes came and went and NO truck OR call! All this time I am waiting out in the cold because the packages were NOT secure and our 1300.00 sauna was right there on our driveway for anyone to steal. I had no choice but to drag the big package into the garage, open it up and piece by piece carry it all upstairs. Not my idea of a good plan. The next morning I called to file a complaint to Troutdale Oregon and the operations manager could only apologise to me but nothing else! 3 days later I got contacted by Fed Ex saying they would try to get a truck out to me to help get the packages in my house!! So I had requested for our 199.00 to be refunded by Fed Ex. But they told me I would have to request it from the shipper of the sauna and they would need to get it back from Fed Ex. Well, the merchant filed a claim with Fed Ex and they had the gall to say they were not responsible and didn't make any mistakes! Excuse me but the driver admitted that he never rang or knocked on our door meaning they left an expensive sauna right out where anyone could have stolen it! On top of that, there were numerous holes punched in the cardboard and on the finished wood right by the entry door to the sauna there is damage to the wood w/ finish scraped off and an indentation. Fed Ex has earned an "F" grade for a horrible job and then covered it up by being dishonest about it. At least the driver was honest to admit he didn't knock but the person who said they didn't make a mistake has given Fed Ex a black eye and I hope people read this and go with the USPS. I delivered mail for 34 years for them and NEVER WOULD HAVE LEFT SUCH A VALUABLE ITEM OUT IN THE OPEN. Fed Ex, shame on you.... read more

So I finally recieved the box and now I know why it took so long because someone went in the box to see what was in it...and I'll tell you ou how I know everything in it was still packaged and folded nicely except 1 piece of merchandise was ripped out of its package and was hanging half way out of the plastic I'll show you the reason why they did it because they thought it was real for and when they found out it wasnt they threw it back in box ripped out of the plastic it was in. .. read more
