I brought my sweet mastiff babe for a couple hours on his birthday to the doggy daycare to see if I can have some place to drop him off for a couple hours on days I work, and he absolutely loved it!! $12 for 6 hours or less? You cannot beat that! I never work longer than that at once so I'm glad when I have to leave for a few hours he's happy! If your fur baby needs some socialization or if you don't want them bored during the day, bring them here for their doggy daycare and they'll be worn-out when you pick them up. The staff is extremely helpful and if you're in the market for good, quality food you need to look no further. If you're not sure what kind or flavor to get, they usually have samples that'll help you choose. They also have quite a few toys, leashes and collars if you're in the market. This facility has gone downhill quite a bit since they opened. The smell when you walk in the front door has become terrible. It didn't always smell this bad and other places in town don't. Gag-reflex level stink. If your dog stays overnight and won't pee indoors, they'll have to hold it, since the dogs aren't walked outside. If they stay for daycare, often times they have to be hosed off if they've walked through poop in the enclosure, which tells me it's not being supervised closely. When we pick up our dog from boarding, we always have to send the staff back for missing belongings. The people seem nice, but the personalized attention is not there, and the odor problem leads me to believe there's a sanitizing and cleaning issue. read more

Just wanted to reach out to say how pleased I was with the recent boarding visit for my Black Shepherd Roscoe! We are new to NW Pet resort and have been coming recently for day play and doggie socialization. He was there for boarding for the first time for about ten days recently and he obviously did fine because he came home looking great and had EATEN ALL HIS FOOD! That never happened when we have boarded him elsewhere. He usually drops significant body weight from stress and not eating. This is a great relief to us as we always worry about him when we are away. Great to know that Roscoe not only has a "safe place" to be when were away but that he also enjoys himself as well. Took my boy in for daycare. He has had a previous bad experience somewhere else, I explained this to them. I waited for 4 other people who arrived after me to get their dogs before mine was brought out. At one point one of the employees asked who was next, when my dogs name was given, the employee then asked what kind of dog. When He was finally brought out, he was covered in slobber and mud, there is no outside area. He has obviously had another dogs mouth all over his neck. When I asked how he did, the response was, "good I guess, I didn't hear anything else." When I got him home, he drank over a gallon of water, which makes me wonder what just exactly happened today. If you are thinking about using them, please save your baby and just don't! read more

I wish I could give zero stars. Our sweet dog JJ stayed with this resort for 6 nights while we were on vacation. When we dropped JJ off she was a 5 pound, shiny coat, elderly but happy dog. When we picked her up she weighed 4.46 pounds, very dull coat, had eye, nasal and vaginal discharge and could not stand. We were so horrified, we immediately took her to the vet and she had to be put down. Vet didn't think she would live through additional testing. All I asked from Northwest Pet Resort was WHAT happened and WHY weren't we called. They only deflect and deny. I fear we will never know what happened to our dear family member. My experience with Northwest Pet Resort has not been a good one. Our little Yorkie JJ was recently boarded for a week and when I picked her up she was so sick we had to rush her to our vet, who recommended she be put down. Her condition was so grave that she may not have survived any medical intervention. How does something like this happen? We were never contacted once while we were out of town, except for a picture of her bed the day I dropped her off. We have still not received a reasonable answer from anyone at Northwest Pet Resort! JJ was happy, always hungry and a bossy barker! We love and miss her tremendously! Board your fur babies at your vet, in case there is a problem. Not here!!! read more

Brought my Yorkie for day care. Was surprised to learn there is no outside area to play, just indoors on concrete floors with no windows. Made a reservation for boarding using their online system. After thinking further, I decided to cancel my reservation by using the same online system. Days later the system continued to show my booking was active. I canceled again but it continued to show active. Eventually got a reminder email about my booking and threatened to charge a cancelation fee. Called during business hours to clear it up. Got a message saying, "Please call during business hours." This pet care business gives the impression it is not run well. Then there's the concrete prison block the pets are housed in. Everything about this place smells questionable. I would avoid. read more

I will never leave my cats there again. This place is literally just a warehouse full of crates to board cats and dogs. They separate the cats from the dogs of course but there is no A/C and it has been well over 95 degrees the past week. All they have are fans circulating hot air and it smells terrible. I was afraid my cats were going to get heat stroke. Just awful. I feel so bad for leaving them there the past 5 days. read more

Have been dropping off my Doberman puppy here for vacation for 3 months every time I dropped him off and didn't realize the problems this place has cost him because of it . I received him he had a new mark on him and every time he was dropped off showed timid and fearful behavior . The owners crowd the kennels and over populate the areas they takes in too many dogs for his facility please spend your money else where don't torture your dog read more

I was looking for a place where my Chihuahua would be well taken care of for a few nights. She's a special dog and a little neurotic with separation anxiety so I was worried that she might not do well. I have no idea how she really did while we were gone but she seemed in good spirits when we picked her up. This is the second time we used NPR and both times she has been well cared for. The facility is pretty clean and in good order. The pen where they keep the dogs is clean and accidents are promplty cleaned up form what we could see. It does have a smell which they should do something about in the store, but the pen area is to be expected. The staff is always helpful and I had no problems checking in and out. We will keep using NPR and highly recommend them. If they can put up with crazy Chihuahua, your dog will do awesome! read more

When I first made an appointment for daycare I was very happy with the communication and the answering of my many questions. When I dropped off the lobby smelled awful. Half way through the day I messaged the facility checking to make sure my dog was doing okay as well as checking about pick up instructions and the response was "Let me go check on her " then no response. I messaged again checking on pick up instructions, no response. I understand it gets busy, but a quick "she is fine" would have been great. I picked up and was told my dog did great! However they brought up my dog with feces and urine all up her legs and she was very timid. My dog is a very clean dog, so this was very strange. When I got into my car with her I realized how terrible she smelled and felt. She has also been nervous and shut down about weird things, and my dog has been going to another daycare daily for the past 8 years, so she is very used to a normal daycare environment. I love this place and the staff are amazing. I have been bringing my dog to doggie daycare for a year and a half and he has grown so much and loves being there. We adopted another dog that was not great with other dogs and could be a little aggressive and when I took him in the first day I told them this and they started working to get him more social and now he can't wait to get there in the morning. Did not even clean my dog up at all. She was full of hair when they gave her back and she smelled terrible. Tried to tell a manager but she was not available. My Pug has short hair and I thought they would brush her. We had hair all over our clothes and the car after her grooming. They could not pay me to return to this place. read more

We think the world of this place, but our dog loves it even more! We bring him here for both daycare and boarding when we go out of town. He's very attached to us but when we drop him off, he'll run right in to play without so much as a look back. And when we pick him up, he is always happy and well exercised. Unlike some other facilities in the area, the staff here were more than willing to show us the pet run areas and the overnight stay areas. The first thing you notice is how clean they keep everything. The second is how much the staff cares about the pets and their owners. For example, they paid close attention to what Parker needed for his overnight stays, asking us to bring in things we didn't think of, like his favorite blanket so he had something with a familiar scent. We've left him for a 4 day trip, and then a 2 week trip, and he did great both times, coming back happy and healthy. We had been taking him to another facility before, and after only 3 days there he came back with sores on his mouth and feet, so we were really happy that he did so well at this resort. We also had some issues with Parker's behavior, and the owner was great about giving some helpful and concrete tips and suggestions. We ended up following them and getting the collar he recommended, and it was like flipping a switch with Parker. He's done so well since! If we could give more than five stars, we would. This is the only place we trust to take care of him. read more

Such an amazing experience for (me) my two Basenjis. They are 100% hot weather dogs and as we were leaving to go out of town we got our first snowfall, they didn't know what was going on. I was so worried that they were going to be cold and not socialize well. The owner hopped on a call with me during the 5 o'clock witching hour and spent 20 minutes talking to me about their philosophy, how passionate they are about their business and the care that would be taken with my pups. I called every day at least once a day to check on them - the staff was so accommodating and the owners are the cream of the crop. I have no doubt that they were treated with the upmost care. My dogs came back happy and healthy. They will definitely be spending more time with Northwest. read more

We left our 10 month old puppy there over Labor Day weekend. They wouldn't allow pick-ups on Monday, because they didn't have the staff. I picked him up Tuesday morning at 6:30 am. He and his bed both smelled like urine, and now he has a dry kennel cough. This is not the care I was hoping for. I don't think I'll be using them again. read more

I emailed the owner before writing this review. I never got a response so I felt compelled to review. we have used Northwest in the past for boarding and it was fine but last week when I picked up our 2 dogs after 3 days I was concerned about the smell. after our dogs came out they smelled of urine so strong we had to roll down all windows in the truck. when we got home while bathing them I found a bite wound on my girls back. it was quite deep and oozing. I immediately reached out to northwest who advised they had no knowledge of the bite. this was not a small bite this was deep and still after a week not healing. both dogs came down with a upper respiratory infection which 1 dog needed treatment. our vet asked if I contacted northwest and I told him yes but I've gotten no response. I really hate to write so much negativity but my heart broke when I saw my girls smelly, hurt and sick. northwest needs to do better. my girls will not be returning ever. read more

If you love your pet, do not take them here! Booked a boarding reservation online and they confirmed it with no problem. I tried booking a grooming appointment online and got a automated response that someone would reply to confirm, never received an email about grooming. I decided I would ask while he was in boarding to get him in for a bath if they had space available. We called the day after we dropped him off to check on how he was doing, at that time we asked if they could fit him in for a bath appointment. They transferred us to the groomer and she said she could do it and it would get done, well it didn't... We picked our dog up the next day and he was filthy and smelled like urine. Everything we brought with him for the stay was returned to us smelling like urine and feces. I had to throw away his toy, chew toy and food that was returned to us because of the filthy condition they were in. They apologized about the missed bath appointment. As we were hitting the road, our dog started crying, we pulled over to the rest area, he jumped out of the car and ended up peeing for over a minute and went to the bathroom, which makes me think they didn't let him out to use the bathroom at all that morning. I had high hopes for this place, but after reading some of the comments on here, I see other people have had the issue of their animals coming back to them filthy and covered in urine. So disappointing and infuriating, I feel like my dog was just sitting in his kennel there all weekend. read more

We boarded our dogs and cat with them this last week while we were out of town. We had never boarded our pets before and have always had family and friends pet sit in our home for us, but since we moved out of state very recently, we had no choice but to board. I was pretty nervous about it, unsure of how it would go and worried one of our dogs might not get along with other dogs. I really liked that I was able to come in for a tour before hand to see for myself that the facility was clean and that the pets were clearly well taken care of. It was obvious that there was plenty of staff being attentive to the pets, and that there was plenty of pens for daytime play (separated by dog size and personalities) and that the sleeping kennels were so nice. The gal that gave me the tour was also so friendly, and understood my worries for first time boarding. She was very knowledgable of pet care and behavior and had great boarding advice for us. It was also great to be able to do a few hours of "day care" to see how they would respond before leaving them for a week. They did fine, and it definitely put me at ease. During their stay, the staff was really patient with me for my "check ins" on how they were doing. When we came to pick them up, the dogs definitely weren't thrilled about going home and had obviously had a blast. We tried our best not to take it personally...ha! They even washed their beds for us before sending them home, which was so sweet! Saved my washer some work! I'll definitely be using them again, and I'm so relieved that our first boarding experience was such a positive one! read more

I had a very long and pleasant conversation with one of the owners when I made the reservation, and found her to be very helpful. I called back to change our reservation for pet boarding, and she told me it would be "no problem", and gave me pickup hours as discussed. However, when we arrived to drop off out dog, I was told the requested date was not available, and we would not be able to board our pet. This changed our plans for Memorial Day, and I was very disappointed. The employee that was working was willing to accommodate us, but was told by owner that he could not. No apology from owner. Will not schedule another attempt to board our dog here due to an obviously disorganized management team. read more

Nice family owned business who works with local animal shelters with Great staff who are very friendly, treat the dogs great and know their stuff. very clean and no bad smells in the place. Everything there looks nice and new/ well kept with very nice wood walled and open kennels. Dogs are free to run around and play a lot during the day. this is a place that my dog actually wants to come back to and has a great time there and its priced well too! read more

In my time at NW Pet Resort, I was treated not just unfairly but unethically. As an employee, upon disclosing that I had become pregnant, my hours and duties were changed immediately - as in next day - to push me out of their business, after receiving constant praise, a set 40 hour schedule, and a raise earlier that same pay period. I spent my first trimester broke and brokenhearted - if it weren't for family we wouldn't have been able to eat, as my husband was between jobs. I was represented by the Human Rights Commission, but lost the case because they lied about my performance and intentions. It wasn't about a settlement, I felt wronged, and family and friends encouraged me to seek legal action. This post isn't about me trying to ruin a family business - truth is I will never forget the way I was treated at Northwest Pet Resort. And I want them to remember too - this review can be a reminder, because they know what they did was wrong. This is my truth, and I will speak it. I was disappointed in the grooming services at Northwest Pet Resort. I took my Goldendoodle in on several occasions and had a similar result. Each time I would speak with one groomer, discuss what I wanted in a cut, then arrive to pick up my dog to find he was completely shaved by a groomer I had not met. I clearly stated I did not want my dog shaved on each occasion. We attempt to take my dog in "early" in the hair growth cycle to avoid matting and the shave, but mats were used as the excuse each time. I will continue to look for a groomer who will work to meet my grooming requests. read more
