As the technician continued working, the price kept increasing until the final bill exceeded $1,000 for about an hour of work. According to the invoice, I was charged: $125 dispatch fee $442.17 for a "partial tank rebuild" (replace flapper and fill valve) $214.47 to replace the emergency shutoff valve $225.69 to replace the toilet handle What frustrates me most is that the additional issues the technician claimed to discover after starting the job should have been identified during a thorough inspection before presenting the original estimate.
