Jesus and Brandon were respectful of the space -- for example, when they had to take down some heavy closet doors and lean them against a wall, they put a cloth between the doors and the wall so as not to scratch the wall. They suggested fixes that in my mind went above and beyond, such as putting a layer of primer on the sheathing to help it resist moisture, should my roof leak again in the future. Hopefully I'll never need them again in the future, but if I do, they'll be the ones I call first.

They abandoned the project half way through, we believe because of the way they were handling their sub contractors. This was hands down the worst business experience we have ever had in the Washington area. The employees lacked basic business etiquette, and the Project Manager and Finance Manager were incredibly rude to both me and my wife. Key Issues: Mis-diagnosed the issue big time even after we repeated telling them the root cause and area of the problem. We feel they intentionally did that to increase the scope of the work. They tore down upstairs bathroom completely without even properly checking the root cause. There were no issues with the upstairs bathroom. They did not tear down the actual place where it was leaking, this was unbelievable to us. Drove us completely nuts. Abandonment: They left the job halfway through and never bothered to check back with us, failing to complete the work they promised. Hostile Behavior: Instead of resolving the incomplete work, they threatened us and sent a lien letter to our house. This aggressive approach is unacceptable. Project Manager yelling and screaming on the calls with all filthy, profanity and inappropriate words. Staff Turnover: They fired more than three employees who had been dealing with us very nicely, which further disrupted the project. Subcontractor Issues: Even the subcontractors they hired seemed unhappy and difficult to work with. Advice: Do not trust these guys with any big jobs. If you value your peace of mind and want a project actually finished, look elsewhere. I have the pictures and videos of our project to prove their Incompetency and also the threatening letter they sent us Hope you guys understand. I was all ready to file a case BBB. Both cleaning ups and dry out went smoothly and quickly. We would recommend Servpro for clean up and dry out. However, we would not recommend Servpro for repairs. We needed paint, flooring with trim, and some bathroom plumbing. The painting and plumbing were done by sub contracts and done well. The flooring was done by Servpro employees. There was no on site project manager which left managing the project to us. Servpro sent someone to do the flooring that seemed to have little to no experience with installing our LVT flooring. The project took 3 times as long as it should because of mistakes made installing the floor. Servpro also tried to bill us for work they did not do. Again we would recommend Servpro for clean up and dry out. We do not recommend them for the repairs.

I am mainly writing this review in hopes it helps someone else avoid the stress and aggravation I went through. I know it is long but if you are considering this company, it is worth the read. We had a water leak in our upstairs bathroom that damaged the bathroom flooring, ceiling sheetrock and flooring below. We filed a claim with USAA to have it fixed and went with Paul Davis Restoration as they were a USAA preferred vendor. It was a job that could have been done in a couple of weeks; however, it got stretched out over 6 months. Paul Davis assigned a project manager to us as our sole point of contact. There was a HUGE problem with communication throughout this whole process as well as issues with most of the contractors they sent. When we tried to get in contact with our project manager, she never called back. Once it took 3 weeks and multiple messages to finally get in contact with her. We even had to call the main number a couple times and requested they get ahold of her because there were time sensitive issues that needed to be addressed. There appeared to be absolutely no communication between Paul Davis and their contractors. Not one showed up knowing what needed to be completed. They would ask me if they were supposed to do certain things; for example, "am I doing the baseboards or is someone else?" Jobs that the insurance company paid for never got completed. One of them was because they did not send enough people to do it. For example, our large bathroom mirror was supposed to be taken down and painted behind. The job required 2 people to remove it, but only one person was sent, so it was not removed. I mentioned it to our project manager, but she never sent anyone out. The worst example was when they came to refinish our hardwood floors. As we could not be in the house while the floors were being refinished, I had a long conversation with our project manager about removing the kitchen appliances, and that our cat would be staying in our laundry/mud room while they were working. When the contactors arrived, they informed us they do not move appliances and that they would have needed to be removed beforehand. Furthermore, they also told us they needed access to the laundry room where our cat was. The previous conversation I had with our Project Manager was never communicated to them, and she never arranged for anyone else to move the appliances. I asked them if they spoke with our project manager and they said, "yes, and all we were given was a piece of paper with your address on it." Talking with them, they assured us that leaving the appliances in place would be preferable anyway and that there would be no discernable lines from the stain around them, so we agreed to let them continue with the job. When they were done, we came home and found all sorts of debris stuck under the sealant throughout the floor, corners missed and rough edges. Additionally, there were large unstained spots around the appliances like we had initially feared. They had to come back and redo the whole floor. They came back 3 more times after that to fix the floor, the major issue being the lines around the appliances. They did not have the equipment needed to pull the refrigerator out without damaging it and our project manager never arranged for anyone to come move it while the floor was getting fixed to get the job done right. I finally had to get our insurance company involved and show them the pictures of what had been done. My adjuster had to call Paul Davis, on my behalf, to get it fixed. My adjuster had to call several times throughout the course of this project to get jobs completed. I requested another hardwood company to finish the job because our current one was unable to fix it but Paul Davis denied the request. The project manager finally arranged to have someone come out with an airsled and move the refrigerator. They had to use a prybar to pry the refrigerator from the floor because the hardwood company sealed the feet to the floor. They also got sealer all over the bottom of my stainless-steel oven, which is noticeable and will not come off. While the contactors were nice about coming back multiple times, their work was sloppy and there was no attention to detail. There were still things that needed to be fixed when I stopped having the floor contractors come back, but I lost confidence in their ability to do a satisfactory job. I will have to live with cracks between a few boards, a corner that got missed, and a line around my oven. Another issue we had was with the person who installed the flooring in our upstairs bathroom. He damaged the walls and ceiling when bringing the supplies inside. The toilet was also installed incorrectly. It took Paul Davis a month to send a plumber out to fix it.

AVE removed the roof, reformed the ridgeline, replaced all of the old particle board with durable plywood, and it is so beautiful now. A complete transformation. We had them install cedar shake shingles in our eaves as well. The work was amazing, the price was incredible and the people were wonderful. It was literally the best contracting experience I have ever had. I highly recommend them for any of your home projects, you will not be disappointed!

This company is less than responsive. They hire the cheapest labor they can find and use shoddy…read morematerials. (For example; they replaced a kitchen counter top with a poorly manufactured covering that left sharp edges exposed.) My kitchen sink was removed by a remediation company who subsequently damaged it, at a later date AVE disposed of the sink with the garbage disposal attached, then claimed it wasn't their fault and are refusing to replace it. All in all, they have taken more than two years to do a job that should have taken four months maximum.

I decided to send him a message to see if there was a company he would recommend to me. He actually responded immediately and said that he'd be able to squeeze me in! You have no idea how grateful I was to hear that. He gave me two time options, and called me when he was on the way. I had no idea how much water had made its way into my flooring, so I was preparing myself for the worst. Turns out, it didn't end up being a catastrophe! Matthew used a thermal camera, and a moisture meter to inspect for moisture on the floor/subfloor and flex ducting. Once again, he was thorough at his job, and in his communication. It's difficult finding people that take pride in their work, are trustworthy, and do a great job. I've had quite a few companies do various types of jobs for me, and there are only two who I'd recommend. Mathew with Puget Sound Water Rescue is one of them!

A DEMOLISHING COMPANY WITH A HEART!…read more I can't say enough good things about Affordable Environmental, the owner Tony Chase, and his work crew. I've been trying off and on to leave a review and finally figured it out. In Spring 2023, Tony was hired to demolish a condemned 1930's farm house on my property that needed to come down. Everything was done on time, responsibly, and by the book, with asbestos abatement included. All for a very competitive price. And then the big twist happened, which really confirmed Tony's stellar reputation: After being told by the asbestos workers that there may be an old log cabin underneath the farm house, Tony took his time and "skinned" the side off, rather than just demolishing everything. He was able to do so because he is very skilled with a track hoe; it was like watching an artist at work! And sure enough, underneath was a solid log cabin structure that our local historical society estimates to be an old logging cabin from circa 1870's. Intact cabins like this are very hard to find and a historic preservationist is currently conducting research to confirm the age and ownership. But Affordable Environmental, aka Tony Chase, didn't stop there. Tony felt very strongly about keeping this historic find safe during the winter so it wouldn't deteriorate. He volunteered the materials and staff time to construct a roof structure, wrap the building in plastic, and install one of his own large dehumidifiers to keep it dry inside. And it's working! Research on this historic logging cabin can continue and perhaps grants can be found to preserve the structure for the long term. Thank you Tony Chase and the AE crew!
