A DEMOLISHING COMPANY WITH A HEART!…read more I can't say enough good things about Affordable Environmental, the owner Tony Chase, and his work crew. I've been trying off and on to leave a review and finally figured it out. In Spring 2023, Tony was hired to demolish a condemned 1930's farm house on my property that needed to come down. Everything was done on time, responsibly, and by the book, with asbestos abatement included. All for a very competitive price. And then the big twist happened, which really confirmed Tony's stellar reputation: After being told by the asbestos workers that there may be an old log cabin underneath the farm house, Tony took his time and "skinned" the side off, rather than just demolishing everything. He was able to do so because he is very skilled with a track hoe; it was like watching an artist at work! And sure enough, underneath was a solid log cabin structure that our local historical society estimates to be an old logging cabin from circa 1870's. Intact cabins like this are very hard to find and a historic preservationist is currently conducting research to confirm the age and ownership. But Affordable Environmental, aka Tony Chase, didn't stop there. Tony felt very strongly about keeping this historic find safe during the winter so it wouldn't deteriorate. He volunteered the materials and staff time to construct a roof structure, wrap the building in plastic, and install one of his own large dehumidifiers to keep it dry inside. And it's working! Research on this historic logging cabin can continue and perhaps grants can be found to preserve the structure for the long term. Thank you Tony Chase and the AE crew!

I contacted them and they came back multiple times, never resolving the leak. On the fourth visit they proposed additional work for $500, to fix the leak. I agreed only under clear written conditions, net 60 terms or the leak must be resolved before payment. I didn't want to have another situation where I paid for the work immediately only to have the leak continue... again. Unfortunately, after that work was completed, the roof still leaked. At that point it was Christmas Eve and I had to explore other options to get the leak fixed immediately. I couldn't continue to wait for Kitsap Roof Pros to come back and tell me I needed yet another $500 repair. I've lived in the area my whole life and Kitsap Roof Pros is certainly not the worst contractor I've had to deal with. What really pushed this into 1-star territory was the office has handled things. Tina responded by insisting the invoice was "due" because they completed their scope, downplaying the outcome, and escalating to "pay by this data to avoid further action," while repeatedly demanding documentation as a condition to discuss any adjustment. In my view, that's backwards; the core issue is that the leak wasn't resolved after multiple attempts and Kitsap Roof Pros is choosing to not honor our written agreement. If you're choosing a contractor for a leak repair, run away from Kitsap Roof Pros. In my case, multiple visits and additional charges still didn't solve the leak, and the follow-up communication was more about collecting money than standing behind their work or the results.

Three items--a partial curtain rod, crib hardware, and a stepping ladder--went missing after the period their crew had exclusive access to my home. A value of $373.96 from a $41,019.80 bill. I have timestamped photos showing these items being present before work began and during, and missing after their crew finished. Despite providing this evidence and a detailed timeline, the company repeatedly denied responsibility, suggesting the items may have been moved before their arrival, even though we had not lived in the home and no other work had occurred during that time. It makes no sense for us to lose these 3 random items as they claimed when there were much more valuable items in the impacted room. The company promised comprehensive documentation of all items handled for insurance purposes, but what I received was incomplete and inconsistent. Some photos were sent to my husband, and there was no clear record of items removed from certain rooms and where they placed each item in the kitchen. When issues were raised, the company provided shifting explanations and ultimately refused to reimburse the $373.96 replacement cost for the missing items. Additionally, I had to correct a previous billing error where I was charged for all quoted hours that were not worked. This, combined with the poor communication and lack of accountability, left me with no confidence in their professionalism or customer service. I am sharing this experience so other homeowners are aware of the risks and documentation issues. If you expect clear records and accountability, I recommend considering another company.

I wrote to the company to request that the quote be e-mailed to us, but we never received the quote. We wanted to support small local businesses with our move, but had a tight turn around time between closing and moving out of our rental. We happened to strike gold with Jonathan! After his initial inspection, it was ultimately determined that some insulation needed to come out in order for him to do his best work. We were able to complete that in a few days and he opened up his schedule back up for us so the job could get completed before the end of the month. Amanda was also very communicative along the way in regards to the appointments, payments, and general inquiries. The pricing was very fair and not exploitive like some others may be. I would and will highly recommend Jonathan to anyone needing services.

We are living in the home during the renovation so this was quite concerning...is this dangerous? do we need to move out immediately? I found all of the positive reviews online about Jonathan and Seattle Mold Solutions and reached out. We were immediately able to connect over text and I sent him photos (which is so much more convenient than talking on the phone). The following day he was able to stop by to check out the situation first-hand and give us advice on how best to proceed. It feels so reassuring to have a professional's opinion regarding the mold situation to make sure we are on the right track. Jonathan is genuinely the nicest and most honest human being and we are so grateful!
