This was, of course, a silly, unprofessional approach and resulted in the risk of someone simply removing their license plates, driving inside the property and cutting as many unit locks as possible. It's a really clean building and I thought I would feel unsafe with the area, but I actually feel really safe stopping in to get things in and out of storage. The staff are really nice. I just added a second storage unit at the last minute during a move and they were so helpful to get me the extra unit right next to my existing one. I really appreciated how friendly they were, it made me feel more comfortable being in the building. I highly recommend the Happy Valley location! The 5x5 is a little smaller than actually 5ft, but the ceiling is super high, so it's something to plan for when you're moving your stuff in.

Unfortunately, that changed dramatically. After multiple rent increases, my partner and I drove all the way from Idaho back to Oregon just to move our belongings into a smaller unit to reduce costs. Shortly afterward, the rate on the smaller unit was raised again. In February, the office referred us to someone who agreed to remove and dispose of our belongings because we were running out of time. I left my storage keys with the office's representative as part of that arrangement. We changed our minds while driving back to Idaho and canceled the agreement almost immediately. We were told the keys would simply be held for us. Months later, when we asked for the keys back, we were told they had never been left there. Instead, I was asked to sign a Lock Cut Agreement stating that I had lost my keys. That statement is false. I, Jeremy Adams, did not lose my storage keys. They were left with the office's representative when the original agreement was made. I refused to sign paperwork that I believed contained inaccurate information. Since February, we've effectively been unable to access our belongings while monthly rent, late fees, and other charges have continued to accumulate. When I tried to resolve the situation, I was told the written agreement could not be honored because of how my name appeared on it, despite there being no dispute that I am the account holder. This was after days of not receiving a callback. What has disappointed me most isn't just the cost--it's the refusal to work toward a reasonable solution or take responsibility for what happened. I never imagined I'd be changing a 5-star review to a 1-star review, but after months of trying to resolve this fairly, I feel other customers deserve to know about my experience.

The manager and staff were very helpful as I made my way cross country checking in on my various options and set up a flexible time for me to arrive without me paying extra (others were less informative, flexible and more expensive). Overall, four months later, things are working it fine with an easy in/out spot and stable pricing. The man said he felt unsafe around me. I was profiled by a stranger and then they went as far as trying to remove me from 'their' storage area by maliciously making up perverted lies. Scary part is, every neighbor I met was delightful and i never once had a foul exchange. Let that be an anchor for how uncomfortable I am. I'm a young heavily tattooed female who travels and camps with my partner a lot in the summer. The first week I was even really around (cleaning from a huge move, the camp, laundry to store away, tiny bit of bead-work unpacking) we got a complaint yet my partner and I had already had our storage in the facility for 4 months. We have the same address. Its preposterous to think me with even a gate code, and my padlock code, how am I a danger or showing I am not allowed to be there? Obviously I'm not a criminal. Its laughable really. This storage area lets people loiter all the time, use the car wash rv dump wash area, chat with neighbors, and work in their units. Ive seen people drinking beer in front of their units with food laid out. Im not allowed to be around the same solely because of profiling although we were given tons of excuses why we can't be around. Its profiling. So beware if you're a tattoo artist or in an alternative field with tattoos... This area has a renter that lies even tho video cameras are around and no one checks them if they're on im guessing, If they were checked or running they'd see the blatant attack at me from a creep I never met. So beware cameras aren't monitored here presumably because of the ability and ease of someone creating such a story with no one reviewing. I have no clue how anyone would live in a storage unit here when they have a home but I digress. Beware of profiling if you have art on you. A very scared hateful person here will make your storage experience uncomfortable and hurtful to say the least. The owner could do a better job having other renters mind their own business while he checks his cameras to see if the complaint is even real or possible to begin with! Poor use of surveillance cameras. All for show!
