My boyfriend has visited here once and saw that they had Lorcana singles so he's been wanting to bring me here ever since. We had the opportunity to stop by as we were in the area. Unfortunately, I never got to see the Lorcana binder as my boyfriend never pointed it out and assumed I knew where it was. But that just means we can come visit again some other time. My boyfriend was able to score the Lorwyn commander decks for $80 which is a steal! The staff here seem very friendly and helpful. They always checked to see if any customers, including us, needed any help looking for anything. They also give kids a booster pack as one of their regulars will come in and buy a booster box for the staff members to hand out a Pokemon booster to any young child that walks in. They also told me that the store is dog friendly as long as they are well behaved and on a leash. The store seems to be divided for those looking for sports cards and memorabilia and the other section focusing on TCGs such as Pokemon, Lorcana, Magic, and more. They have great stock of sleeves, mats, and other TCG needs. Additionally, they have plenty of tables and chairs for their TCG events. read more

Great place to look for pokemon cards! However, service is not great. I'm a bit new to TCG so I had some questions for the staff. They weren't friendly when answering my questions and kind of looked at me as if I was incompetent. One employee was nice, but they were newly hired. Everyone else didn't seem friendly too. The place has a lot of TCG cards, whether it's for sports or etc. If you're expecting to sell or trade your cards, do not expect a fair deal! Best Place for Pokémon And Magic Inspite if them being a Sports Card Place! They have a little bit of everything. Love this place. My Son pulled an amazing chase card from 1 of 2 Phantasmal Flames Boosters we bought. I also went in looking for an item I had been looking for for since November. I noticed they had some but wasn't about to purchase it when I was there before. I went in and noticed that the item was sold out. The guy helping me out looked at me and said gimme a minute. Stepped to the back of the store and brought me one to purchase from stock they hadn't stocked. That was an amazing gesture of phenomenal customer service. I appreciated it. Seriously this place is a money grab. I'm sure there's some value here in window shopping or buying supplies or playing Pokémon probably. But if you're here to buy cards, do your research, you're about to be fleeced. The sales people do a good job getting you excited but you'll have remorse as soon as you leave. Their practice of having one price on a card but taking it to "the price guy" and then have them ask 50% more is off putting. They've got sets and boxes and wax that they ask 3-5x comps for with a straight face. Before you buy, Take 30 seconds and look at eBay sold listings to know you're about to be ripped off. The more I wrote the angrier I get and this is after 10 or 12 visits. If it's worth 25 bucks expect to pay a hundred and don't make me say I told you so!! read more

I'm not new to the card game scene. You would know this if you talked to me for about 2 minutes. My girlfriend and I (also female) came into the store hoping to buy a few pre made pokémon decks. One of the reps was fairly nice, however he quickly left to deal with another customer, whom he was already helping. No fault of his, I'm fine with that. In comes the rude associate, and since I don't know his name (lack of name tag) I'll just say he was the guy with the lisp. In the course of the 5 minute visit he did the following: -Repeatedly explained what generation of pokémon we were currently in, despite us telling him we were informed. -Said that a certain card deck would be "too advanced" for us because we would have to read the cards. Do you not think we know how to read? -In the middle of helping us, he said "hold on" and completely disregarded us to help another customer, who had come in after us, AND said he was just looking. He continued ignoring us for around 5 minutes while we waited for help. We ended up leaving. I hope the owners see this review. At the very least they can tell their employees to cool it with the gatekeeping, mansplaining, and downright rude behavior. That employee inferred we can't read, but I invite you to read this: We will never be back. Don't waste your time or your money. Head down the road 5 minutes to Tacoma Games instead. read more

Shady shady shady!!!!! I brought in some binders filled with cards. There were 4 Michael Jordan cards in one of the binders. The cards go all day long at $200 a piece. There were Scottie pippen cards, Dennis Rodman, Isaiah Thomas, a mark McGuire rookie card. Along with several other big names in the late 80's early 90's. Total retail value in the thousands of dollars. The man offered me $40 and tried telling me that they are junk cards.... Either he wasn't paying attention to the cards in the binder, or, he realized I had no clue what was in them and he was trying to take advantage. Needless to say, I won't be back. You can't tell me that the man missed those cards and the several others, this is their job for crying out loud! So shady! read more

The store looks great, from the sports memorabilia to the card playing area. The two stars is for "Buy" prospect of sport card collectibles. Of course they would buy your Sportscards, but not before the Sportscards expert (large guy with the goatee) bashes the condition of every single card you bring in and try to sell. He will devalue every single card that you bring in just so he could low-ball so much so that you (the sports collector) would feel so insulted. So if you VALUE your sports cards, you are probably better off looking else where because here, the amount of time and money you spent finding great pulls mean nothing at all. This review is from an owner of a 2013 Topps Chrome Camo Refactor # 4/15 of Mike Trout!! Russell Wilson signed and patched RC, a Justin Verlander signed RC, Mookie Betts RC, and John Smoltz Patch. Only offered $80 for all five cards. After a few weeks, I think the public deserves a little update on the Mike Trout, Justin Verlander and Mookie Betts Auto RC. Well I did find a buyer for the Camo Refractor Mike Trout #04/15, to the tune of $500!!! Mookie Betts was bought for $125 and that was a fair deal because on EBay, it is worth more. And the Justin Verlander was just purchased for $77. The Smoltz and Wilson, I am waiting on them. $702 for three cards and only offered $80 for all five? Would HIGHLY suggest you look elsewhere for sales of your collection. And trust me, I ain't the only collector that felt the low-ball pain. read more

I can't say enough good about these guys (and gal). From our 1st visit to the shop less than 2 weeks ago to our 5th visit yesterday, we have been increasingly wowed by their helpfulness and friendliness, including all the fantasy gaming employees and all the sports card employees (which I believe includes the owner). I'm a former sports card enthusiast, but 25 years out of the hobby has meant a TON of catching up to do. My 9 year old son is a Pokemon fan just now showing an interest in my sports cards, so this shop is heaven for both of us, albeit a little daunting. Every single visit, they have patiently answered my many questions about the nuances of new cards, inserts, parallels and so forth, and of most importance as a father, made my boy absolutely fall in love with the hobby - and this shop. They've gone above and beyond to make us feel like VIP customers, when in reality we're likely just small spenders compared to many seasoned collectors, just dipping our toes into collecting (again, and for the first time). 6 stars out of 5 read more

So these guys are only out to make as much money as possible..not caring about the collector. Had a book value card for $400 that I got for $165 from eBay. They only wanted to give me $20 for it. Me and my son went in today to buy some magic cards today about 100$ worth. I have been going there the past 2 years buying cards the guy i talk to most times was not there. One of the items i bought had one price below it and a cheaper price stickered on the product itself. This is normal there sale prices go on the package. After the order was paid for I noticed the sale price was not rung up told the cashier he said sorry did not see the stickered price and would fix it (18$ difference). The second man said they would not honor the price. He was very aggressive and rude about this and tried to bully me into taking the higher price or leave. I Said I wanted them to honor the price on the box. After a while I asked to talk to his boss he said he was busy, I said I would wait. After some time the boss came out and after some time agreed to honor the marked price. To be fair I suggested we in the middle. I have worked retail for over 20 years and like it or not you always honor the marked price. At the very least you offer something to make up for your mistake. I will have to find another place to buy magic cards for I will never go back to a place that treats me and my son like that. I do fell like my son a good lesson how to stand up to a bully and to stand up for what is right. read more

I appear to be in the minority versus the glowing reviews this place has received. However, I found nothing friendly or helpful at all from the staff, who completely dissuaded me from purchasing baseball card singles. Apparently they have a store policy that customers (even those who arrive with lists and eager to spend dollars) can not pick out commons from the box, for fear we might put something out of order. There is next to no vintage singles in the store, and what is there is full Beckett price. I could not get even a dollar discount from a potential $300 group of 20 cards, so I reduced my purchase down to the $50 bucks I most needed. I would not spend any time or effort going to this store. read more

This business is horrible! I usually don't give bad reviews but this company was terrible. Talk about bad customer service. They don't really care about you, they just want your money. Their return policy is terrible and it really helps them make out like bandits. They say their prices are the best... They are good but not the best. I got the same helmet I was buying from them on Amazon and it was $100 cheaper!!! We had issues with their order which we didn't know until we called them and asked them where our order was. It should have been to our house two days prior. After talking with them and finding the issues we changed all of our banking info the next day but yet they still couldn't help us. They thought we were being fraudulent even though we had changed everything to make it right. Instead of helping us they just said, I'm sorry we can't help you. After this experience I began looking other places and I'm glad that I did because I saved money and I gave it to people who appreciate my money and have good customer service! read more

WARNING, keep a close eye on this establishment. My friend sent a very long email to this store via their website and also reached out to them via Social Media about merchandise that was purchased at their store and never got a response. We did our fair share of investigating with others that have purchased sports cards from this store. And what we found was mind boggling. Here is the story: We never go around this side of town and we decided to walk in and give this place a try. We wanted to purchase some loose packs of Prizm Basketball from 2012-13. The employee accidentally drops a couple packs and the packs open from impact, at the time we didn't think anything of it. Of course we didn't want to act like the "picky new customers," so we played it cool and purchased the packs alongside with a sealed box of the same product and other boxes as well. We left the store and decided to open the sealed boxes. The weird thing was that the packs from the sealed box and the opened box were opening VERY easily. Being from out the area, and not knowing the product too well, we just thought it was dried up glue and went home. Although we didn't get anything spectacular, we enjoyed the product and decided to buy a case of 2012-13 Prizm Basketball from a wholesaler website. We noticed that NONE of the packs had the problem that was consistent with the loose packs and the sealed box we got at this store. If you youtube videos of these packs, people are struggling to open some of the packs, our packs we got from this store would have opened on top if a gust of wind blew by. So out of curiosity, we posted our discovery on a popular sports card forum, asking the sports card community if they had run into similar issues. We didn't want to defame the store without evidence, so my friend emailed and tweeted the store, as he was the purchaser and he was overseas on business (still is). He got no response whatsoever, and then I called Panini and wanted to see if there were any issues with the seals on the packs, NO ISSUES. The craziest part is that we got several private messages from the forum from members that had experienced similar issues with this particular store and that was a complete shocker to me and my friend. Others that have made this complaint, got reactions that pointed towards the employees acting as if they were oblivious, and then getting a refund while still playing the oblivious card. Neither my friend nor I can prove that these products were RESEALED, but the fact is that we reached out to the store with our concerns, and WE NEVER got a single response from the store. My friend and I would do nothing to sabotage this store as it is the only store in the state of WA that does sports card events such as Pack Wars, but something is either wrong with their distributor or something shady is going on. Hopefully we get some sort of response through Yelp from the Owners. read more

I just have to say THANK YOU to the good folks at Northwest Sportscards. I have been going there for signing events for a while now. We had purchased tickets to get a signing by Seahawks Running back Christine Michael and completed spaced out and forgot about it the day of the event. These events are very busy and have a lot of action taking place. In the midst of trying to herd close to 1000 fans through the door, they noticed that I had not picked up my ticket and they immediately called me to remind me! If that is not good customer service, I do not know what is. I do not know what some of these folks are crying about when it comes to the service there. I was in there again today and all 4 of the folks there made sure to greet me. I suppose it is true what they say, you can't please all the people, all the time. Nonetheless, they certainly took great care of me and I appreciate it! read more

Staff is great, products are great. Price is GREAT. Many of the products they sell are sold FAR under the market value meaning you can get way more for way less. There's a ton of dumb rumors, but it's always people who A. Think they're cards are in good condition when they aren't actually (I have seen people yell at a few of the staff members how their cards are "Gem mint" when they have obvious edge wear and corner whitening) or B. They are just whining because they didn't pull the specific card they wanted (I've heard countless people murmur and make rumors because they don't pull anything, but I personally have pulled a crazy amount from pack from this store. Alternate art Machamp from astral radiance, Alternate art giratina from lost origins, and even a few more valuable magic the gathering cards. The rumors are always just people whining and trying to make excuses for why they didn't pull a card they wanted.) read more

Going through some wax cracking withdrawals, i decided to check this place out during one of their monthly pack wars. Their pack war format is different from the ones I am used to in Vegas however their rules make it a level playing field for all involved. A great family owned and operated store that serves the McChord/Tacoma area. They are a little pricey compared to the internet megastores but there is a little feel good satisfaction in supporting local stores. However, They did offer a discount after I told them I wanted to buy a few boxes. After chatting with the owner for a bit, he mentioned that they have exclusive agreements with some of the Seahawks for autographs and do in-store signing events. The only thing that I was not fond of was that I could not look at their commons for sale. All of the lover value items were behind the shelf and you had to ask for a specific card. I am sure that there is a reason for them doing it; maybe people with sticky fingers... To me that's one if the thrills if going to a sports card store is finding treasure in the white boxes... My dealings with them have been positive and would plan on stopping in again if I am in the area. read more

As two women seeking to buy cards we felt ignored. We called in advance and we're not told most of the inventory had to be ordered on line. A fifteen minutes transaction took an hour as we were not permitted to see the cards but had to order them online to purchase in the store and then ask them to remove shipping charges. The online photos don't match the edition of the cards. The on line purchasing system makes it impossible to see the quality of the cards you are purchasing until after you have spent the money. This process negates there point of driving to the store for in person shopping. I was disappointed in the quality of several of the cards I purchased. The store clerk preferred to converse with other people rather than wait on us. After our purchase we were again ignored while someone delivered out cards to the register. They were waiting on no one but choose not to wait on us. The in store kiosk and bathrooms were out of order. I will never go to this store again. I will spend my money elsewhere. read more

Have not been to the new location, but I hear it's actually bigger than the last place which says a lot because the other space was very spacious as well, filled with endless amounts of cards and collectibles. I feel they could perhaps loosen up a little on the prices of their ungraded cards sitting in boxes, but other than that, I highly recommend this place over any other card shops I've visited in years. I stopped in for the first time today. Three employees ALL nicely came up and introduced themselves to me, shook my hand, and had something to match every request I had. I collect vintage baseball and football cards, and let me tell you, they had a ton! From memory, they had a sharp Namath rookie, a Chamberlain rookie, most of the '84 Topps football rookies, and multiples of most. They must've had 50 Koufax cards and another 50 Willie Mays cards. I'm not an avid card collector, but I did dabble a bit when I was a kid. I went into this shop to poke around and get some information on a few things and I had a really really bad experience. First, it took about 10 mins for anyone to even approach me to see if I had any questions. I hung out near the counter where an employee was fixedly watching the television. I had to ask him for some help, and when I did, he acted as if I was a huge annoyance, almost as if I was inconveniencing him. I inquired about some details regarding some cards in my collection and he simply said "I don't know" to each answer. After a few of my questions he just went back to watching the TV. I was blown away with how rude this guy was. If you're looking for a place with friendly, knowledgeable staff, AVOID this place. Take your business elsewhere. read more

Its a nice looking store. The single card prices and pack prices are a pricey compared to my fave card shop Dj's in renton and online but of course the latter is expected. They do have a impressive stock of memorabilia of local sport stars and do alot of seahawk signings which is pretty cool. These guys ripped me off for a Yogi Berra autographed rookie card, giving me about $20.00 in trade..then sold the card for $500.00 on eBay. Not the first time they ripped me off either, in a time of need.....they only gave me $500.00 for an Alpha Underground Sea (print run approx. 1200) saying they are only worth 800.00. Well, at the time they were worth a solid 1000.00, & two have recently sold for.... 1600.00 and 1700.00 (respectively). Like "pawn stars".....the owner likes money, way more than compassion. :( read more

Shit store with customer service especially Zech, this guy lies and then turns around and plays it off like he said different, so if your selling cards don't deal with him avoid 100% either that or record your conversation. Selling cards to them a complete hassle and for their turn around time is ridiculous, unless you want to lose out on 15% value or you want store credit it's going to be a 12 Day+ wait every time for this hassle you are better off selling to Trollandtoad.com who pays better is less stringent with their card grading and the wait time is relatively the same. Their singles prices are horrid definitely not the place to pick up single unless you are desperate. Best bet is to go to tcgplayer or even ebay just don't be impatient and wait out a few days for the best prices. Playing here the experience was just horrendous they cram so many players into a small 100sq ft venue into low grade plastic tables and uncomfortable chairs. Drinks are provided by a less than optimal vending machine and no snacks available. Worst part about the store is TRADING ISN"T ALLOWED that is right that is not a typo no trading is allowed. The obvious thought when it comes to these stores is for no exchange of cash and cards to happen but they take it to a whole new level you cant trade cards because they don't want to lose revenue. Overall thoughts! The only good thing about this place is their selection huge inventory other than that everything is lackluster or non existent very few of the employees seem genuine when it comes to real customer assistance and being warm and welcoming, most come off like condescending assholes. Prices are horrendous especially on singles please better off being patient and purchasing from tcgplayer or ebay. There buying process is hindered immensely by their own employees and accounting/finance department and their processing but especially hindered by the mis-communication of the store front employees(Zech most notably) and their customers. Small venue too cramped. NO TRADING ENOUGH SAID!!! Grade = D+ read more
