I brought my Ford Edge in today to have the sway bar replaced. First they explained to me what a sway bar is! I like how NAS gives me a list of services that my car either needs soon (red alert ) can wait a little while (yellow alert) or down the line a bit (green alert). I'm very happy with NAS and how well they take care of my car. They seem genuinely concerned if I have an issue between oil changes and always say bring it in and we'll check it out. I like the fact they're in the neighborhood and I can walk there and back to drop off and pick up my car. I have had oil changes done at Norwood Auto service in the past and was satisfied and like that it is close to my home . So when the battery on my car died, I had it towed over there in the evening, at my expense. The next morning I got a call that I needed a new battery and that it would cost $514. I was shocked because my husband had his battery changed 7 months ago on his car (which is the same make and model as mine, but newer) at a different auto shop for a little over $200. There were $ 140 in labor costs and a $33 charge for shop supplies. I can't help but feel like I was ripped off. I won't be going back there read more

The customer service, amazing. They didn't try to upsell me on anything and I was very pleased with the experience. However, due to poor service my car developed an oil leak from a routine oil change and the dealership informed me it was caused by whoever did the change last. Very disappointed as I was hoping to make this a go to spot for my car needs. read more

Norwood came thru in a pinch. I had a tire blow out, and they were able to replace it the same day. Some shops would take a day or 2 for specialized sizes, but they did it! They can fix a flat on specialized cars/rims as well. read more

I brought my 2007 Honda Civic in because of a noise I was hearing when I would accelerate. My usual mechanic had retired and I was at a loss for where to go. This is only the second Yelp review I've written. My experience was so over the top good, on so many levels, that I felt compelled to write a great review for Norwood Auto. I have a Carmax warranty. When I called to make an appointment at Carma, they said the earliest the could get me in was 3 weeks. My car was having electric problems that couldn't wait 3 weeks. Norwood auto got me in for a diagnostic in 2 days. When I went to drop off the car, Matt was attentive to my concerns and even listened to my 4 year old son who was concerned about his transformer that was lost in the car. They got right on the job and ended up replacing the ignition switch after pinpointing what was causing the issues. Matt kept in contact with me and kept me in the loop the entire time. He explained that they would try to have the relate complete but if that was going to be an issue- he would get me approved for a rental car since I had to work the next day. Matt called Me to let me know the car was ready for pick up. Since I live in the neighborhoo, I loaded up the bous in the stroller and walked over. He handed me the keys and said "your all set!" I asked what my copay was and he said that I don't owe them anything. What kind of mechanic shop does that? Seriously? The door was wide open for them to charge me something and they did the honorable thing. Finally, right before we left, Matt held out his hand and handed my son the transformer that he has been looking for for about a month. GREAT CUSTOMER service and trustworthy work. 2012 Toyota Sienna. Had a 10 year warranty. Of course the air conditioning went bad year 11. Oh well. Brought it to dealer where I had purchased it from. Said the would have to drop the dashboard to fix. Quoted big money. So took it to Norwood Auto Service Firestone. Their diagnosis did not include this dropped dashboard fix. At any rate Norwood repairs the problem and a/c is working great. Very satisfied with Eric and his friendly capable staff. Highly recommend. read more

I was driving back home from my overnight shift and tired me ran over a small pile of white stuff (assuming it was snow) out on the road, thinking nothing would happen. Little did I know that it would leave a wide gash on my front right tire. Panicking, I had no idea what to do, so I called my friend who told me to go to the nearest auto shop. I walk into this store, knowing nothing at all about cars. Thankfully, Leah and her team were extremely helpful and kind. Super friendly, honest and quick service. I had a nail in my tire and had to leave it overnight (closed on Easter). I called them at 8am and explained what needed to be done. Matt said no problem, gave me the total and had it done earlier than expected! Didn't try to sell me anything else. When we went to pick it up, he was just as pleasant as he was on the phone. I always prefer giving my money to local businesses. With that in mind, I regrettably decided to forgo Jiffy Lube when I needed an oil change and instead went to Norwood Auto. The guy at the desk - I assume it was the owner, but maybe not - told me it would be about an hour for the oil change. No problem. I got myself a cup of coffee and walked over to the nearby library (yeah, they still have those) to kill some time. When I returned more than an hour later, my car was parked exactly where I left it. When I asked if it was ready, the guy became abrasive and seemingly irritated with me as if I were pestering or rushing him. He told me they were busy and they hadn't yet gotten to the oil change. He then told another employee to go get my car "so we can get this guy's oil change done with." Should I have apologized for bothering them with my business? I sat in the waiting area for them to finish the oil change. All the while the guy at the desk spent his time either trying to figure out how to charge another customer on his credit card (and this took a good 20 minutes) or calling his wife to bitch about his daughter's high cell phone bill. I agree: It's bullshit she spends so much time talking on it and text messaging. Should I give them the benefit of the doubt? Was it an off day? I told my brother I went to Norwood Auto for an oil change and he had almost the exact same story to tell, right down to the guy calling his wife to bitch about his daughter's cell phone use. Where is the professionalism here? Needless to say, I won't be back. It's easier to pay $15 more for an oil change at Jiffy Lube and get out of there in 10 minutes without hassle. They also need to stop false-flagging the whole Firestone thing. Nowhere on Firestone's official site do they list Norwood Auto as a one of their stores. read more

Stopped at norwood auto service when sensor went off in audi for low air pressure before 8am on saturday morning. They immediately filled front tire and checked all others. Sold my car to a person and they wanted to meet here for the mechanic to inspect it. I felt that was a good idea but I knew nothing was wrong with my car. I had all service records to everything that was ever done to the car. When being inspected the person inspecting started telling the person buying that my car had numerous problems. From exhaust being loose, ball joints bad, suspect of oil leak do to engine and engine bay being too clean. Engine making funny noise that he could not explain( after market cams) So I then ask him if he is a certified mechanic... NO I'm the owners 17 year old son who just does Oil changes. I then made a stink and demanded the mechanic. He found Nothing Wrong At All. Don't go here. They kept on saying how badly the work was done and it was all loose.....well after getting a second opinion on Norwood auto accusations, found out that Fred the owner of Norwood auto service , was just lying to make money...all I needed was a tire that was wobbling .... I've been taking cars to Norwood for years. They've always been fair and honest and they back up their work. It's a small operation and at times you have to be patient but if they know you're in a hurry they'll take care of you. I often leave a car there on my way to the train before they open - and pick it up after they close, going back on the weekend to pay. Several times I went in with problems and rather than just doing it and charging me, they checked to see if it was warranty work that should be done by the dealer - for free. read more
