Overall, I had a good experience with Ashland Tire & Auto. I brought my car in for exhaust repairs, and they completed the work the same day. The repair cost seemed fair, though on the higher end of the expected range. One issue came up afterward: when I picked up the car, the tire pressure light was on. I initially assumed it was nothing serious, but by the following evening, one tire was completely flat. To be clear, I understand there's no way to know for sure whether the tire was damaged while the car was at the shop or while I was driving it home or the following day. I genuinely acknowledge that uncertainty. That said, the timing concerned me. I took the car to Just Tires, where I had purchased all four of the tires in 2022. I was told that the flat tire could not be repaired and needed to be replaced. Replacing two tires, which is fairly typical (depending on tread wear and matching) was recommended. The total cost, including tax and installation, was about $575. I discussed the situation with Ken Papas at Ashland Tire, and I appreciate the way he handled it. He didn't dismiss my concern, but he also fairly pointed out that neither of us could pinpoint when the damage occurred. He offered $150 toward the replacement cost, which I accepted. I think that was a reasonable, good-faith gesture, even though covering the cost of one tire would have felt more satisfying. I'm leaving a positive review because the exhaust issue has been resolved (so I assume the original repair was done correctly) and because Ken handled an uncertain situation professionally. My car was making a weird whirring noise under the hood. I emailed with Ashland Tire to find a good time to drop it off. Dropping off at 7am was a breeze. Many other folks had the same idea, so I knew this place was reputable (in addition to all its great online reviews) They gave me a call by 10:30am letting me know they could fix the whirring with a new belt. Also identified my brakes were at their end of life and offered to replace. Their quote for 4 new brake pads was extremely reasonable. By 1:45 my car was done being serviced and I went back to pick it up. Easy check out. No line. Very nice staff. A complete success. Very reasonably priced. Especially for being in the city. I think they're very straight forward. They're very fast. Dropped my car off Saturday morning(only open til 12), they finished by Monday afternoon (they're closed Sunday). My brakes feel great, they fixed my front and back brakes and rotors. They exchanged my spark plugs, two tires, and fixed my right wheel barring. They have the best priced oil change in the city-- by far. Definitely won over a new customer from me! Chicago pothole took out my front passenger tire. I got car towed to Ashland Tire and got 4 new tires and had my new wheels put on also. I brought tire pressure sensors that online store said worked with my 2022 Audi S3. Well they quickly informed me my car does not use those but it use the ABS system to monitor air pressure. I also asked them to my Check Engine Light as my Audi Dealer wanted $295 and their price is $125. Well the emission CEL they found an Audi Tech Bulletin they described the symptom but no fix was available. It's a chronic issue with most 22-23 models. They waived the diagnostic charge and gave me ammo that Audi was going to charge me for a problem they knew about already and no fix. In summary - great service, competitive pricing and honest. I was driving to work and my low tire pressure light came on, pulled over and noticed a nail in my tire. After a few colorful words, I took my car to Ashland Tire & Auto because it's close to my job. I took a shot of just driving in, since it was a Monday morning and no appointment. I was greeted right away and to relax in the waiting area. The area has a fish tank and a tv. Ashland was recently recommended and I went there for the first time. My car is fifteen years old but in almost new condition. I needed a new blower motor (fan) for my A/C. They couldn't find one with their local supplier. I found one online from out of state. I took it to them to install. I went at 7 AM when they opened. Wow! Seven people were waiting ahead of me. They got us all in quickly. I was there about 20 minutes and my car was done! The man said: "That was such an easy job I'm not going to charge you for it, here's your keys, your car's out front." A go-to not only for tires and suspension but also the range of air conditioning, radiator, vacuum system, electronic and emissions stuff that's necessary for just about any car made in the last 40 years. I'd only worry about something like a very heavy and involved engine or transmission rebuild, and there I suspect they will tell you before you have to find out anything the hard way about any issues that need to be sent somewhere else. They're quick, easy to schedule, fairly priced....and I don't recall having had to do something over there. I only wish I lived closer to them, but the ten years I was in their neighborhood I certainly didn't have to worry about the car. read more

I had been an Ashland Tire and Auto customer for almost 15 years, but I will never go there again. Last fall when I had my new winter tires mounted and installed, I had the new tires and necessary spacing ring and retaining clip hardware shipped directly from Tire Rack, for which Ashland Tire and Auto is a preferred installer. Ashland Tire and Auto didn't install the hardware, didn't return it to me and didn't mention anything about it. I didn't find this out until the spring when I changed the wheels - that's when I found out that Ashland hadn't installed the hardware and left my car in an unsafe condition all winter. They also basically stole my new hardware that I had just paid for. When I called to ask what had happened, and if they at least still had the hardware, they were dismissive and didn't care. The person I spoke to on the phone didn't seem to understand the issue or care to offer any where to fix it. Look somewhere else - there are plenty of good, honest and professional tire shops around that do it right every time. read more

Went to Ashland tire to replace a radiator end of last year. Earlier this year car wasnt running right and brought it back to them. They told me this was a defective radiator and replaced it for no charge. Next day car died and had to tow it back to them. They recommended a transmission place to look at it and they said i needed to replace the transmission to the tune of $6,000! From what I've now learned the defecitve radiator caused damage to transmission in certain areas. I asked Ken to pay for this because his company put in the defective radiator and he just washed his hands of this. Never go back!! read more

Ashland Tire has been our go to for more than 25 years. They have taken care of every car my family has owned. The team is honest, responsive, has a great overnight drop option, and are great neighbors. I have seen them help stuck cars in the alley! One example of their honesty and trustworthiness: our car battery died and we had it towed to Ashland. The next day they call and say the battery is fine and they couldn't find anything wrong with it. They didn't charge us or make us feel bad for bringing it in.
