I talked to sereral companies in the Santa Barbara area, and wasn't particularly impressed with their service, until I spoke with Tom at Country Hearth. Tom stood out to me because of his vast knowledge and experience in the industry and his willingness to go above and beyond to help me. Over the course of a month or so, he was very prompt in returning my calls or text messages and helped me settle on the prefect insert for our home. When it came time to do the install, he and his installer were efficient and tidy. I'm sure when it comes time to service our insert he will handle it with the same level of courtesy. Nothing was obviously broken but it need a checkout and some duct work. Mission accomplished! Jeremy (one of the J's in J&J) was friendly, outgoing, on time (or called/texted with updated arrival times), and knowledgeable. His prices were competitive. An interesting tidbit of information about him is that he is a certified chimney sweep as well! Who knew that was a thing? I will definitely call J&J again should I need help with my furnace or AC.

We couldn't start it and had them come to our home to analyze the situation. They had to re-order a part, now mind you, this is a 26-year-old part!!! They were very upfront in letting us know that even with this new part, our fireplace may not work. Sam our technician was out at our house for over an hour, and he was trying everything he could to get this new part to work to light the pilot light. He had a candid conversation with us and said I will try one more solution, but I don't think it's going to work. The next thing we knew, he actually got the pilot light to light. Without his patience and sheer diligence, we would have paid for an almost $800 part that was worthless. he was so apologetic when he had to deliver the initial bad news, and we were all so happy when he actually made the fireplace work.
