I've ordered from here many times in the past for takeout, but this was my first time dining in. Unfortunately, the experience was disappointing from start to finish. My first impression was that the restaurant looked run-down and in need of attention. The rust-covered buckets on the tables holding creamers didn't inspire confidence, and the syrup being served in a reusable squeeze bottle didn't appear very sanitary. Our waitress was pleasant when she initially took our order, but after that she rarely checked on us aside from bringing out the food. When our meals arrived, she immediately informed us that the eggs weren't fully cooked and asked if we wanted them fixed. Of course we did. However, instead of preparing fresh eggs or simply cooking them a bit longer, it appeared the entire plate had been microwaved. This ruined the biscuits and gravy, leaving them dry and unappetizing. The pancakes were another disappointment--they arrived burnt on the bottom. After requesting a replacement, the second batch came out undercooked, which only added to the frustration. Overall, the atmosphere felt outdated and poorly maintained, the food quality was well below expectations, and the service left a lot to be desired. Based on this experience, I can't recommend dining here. If you're looking for a quality breakfast nearby, I'd suggest driving a few extra minutes to Pancake Place instead. Stopped in while in town on vacation. The split pea soup was super good. I paired it with some sourdough bread and a salad. The place was ok. Parking was fine. There's a reason this place has been around for so many years! Here are some of my favorites.. veggie omelette with hash browns , always good every time. Their cheeseburgers are amazing.. They should seriously put a drive-through window in. Their burgers are huge with actual real meat. They're also huge! I can eat a lot but I can't eat a full one of these. Their pancakes are amazing.... They smell like birthday cake and taste even better. Their onion rings are huge and actually have big onions in them. One thing I recently tried was chicken fried steak dinner, which was so great.... Definitely not a diet food but wow. It came with gravy and mashed potatoes a dinner roll and vegetable. Went here for the first time 9/28/22 @8:30am. Busy place! Lotta people seated. My waitress was great. Saw a Neg review - hey- there is only ONE waitress and SHE IS AWESOME . Ppl need to chill out. FOOD HOT AND FRESH- place clean prices right and wow- Lotta to go orders and in-seating. I def will be back and I always say support local/ not big box support the little guy that has been here years. They do a great job here. Can't say enough good. During the pandemic so many places like this had to shut down- Glad they made it thru and glad I can support them. All the food I got was just over 1"- with tip 13. I will be coming back. I'm SO disappointed with this "restaurant". Food = standard, nothing special Atmosphere = causal Service = unprofessional and disgusting 14 minutes after sitting down, we had menus thrown at the table. The stone faced waitress asked if we wanted something to drink and to quote "plan on eating?" Why would we sit down at a diner and not be eating...? We kept giving it a shot. This gem of a waitress came back one time with a sour attitude to throw the plates on the table. We ate our food and she put the bill on the table. We felt uncomfortable if we needed anything else - like a napkin. She didn't give us instructions whether or not we pay at the table. So we had to figure it out ourselves. As we try to pay, she took our bill and card but instead of helping us, she chatted with her employees and counted her tips in front of us. This is my first review since the COVID-19 lockdown. After eating at the Blackstone I was left feeling uncomfortable. The food and service was OK however I was left feeling uneasy due to the lax COVID-19 precautions. I didn't see any additional cleaning or other social distancing steps. The waitress walked up to the table and stood right over us to take our order. She had a mask on but it did not cover her nose. No other customers in the restaurant were wearing masks. We were greeted by Jen our server immediately after sitting down. she renewed my faith in this place. Helpful, pleasant and quick only begins to describe our service. I asked if I could have extra sausage instead of bread and pancakes, she said "yes but meats expensive so it will be a dollar extra" I also asked for 5 eggs and got 2 eggs and maybe 1 cut up sausage link. They charged me $11.50 instead of $7.50. The staff looked like they were tired and in rough shape. I feel bad so I let them keep the money, but that was very annoying. I was very nice and respectful, but I warn you not to waste your time & money there. I wanted to let them know how I felt and that I need my money back, but I figured I already spent over an hour & a half trying to get less then 2 eggs and a 3 inch sausage link that it just wasn't worth it. Meh. I wanted to love this place and I should have. Everything about it screamed old school greasy spoon diner with a friendly know-your-name staff. Unfortunately, it was anything but. My husband and I wanted a diner experience and seeing this place a few times driving by, we decided to check it out. The place itself is a diner-style restaurant, complete with tables, booths and the requisite diner counter where you can sit and eat. So far so good. We opted for a booth, which was cleaned just as we sat down. We gave the server our drink order and those were brought out promptly. We decided on a frisco burger and a super burger (add bacon), both with fries. We decided to splurge on an order of cheese curds, which our server assured us were "really good." Welp, the curds were definitely NOT really good. They were undercooked, the bigger ones were especially undercooked. Also, it tasted like they'd been cooked in old frying oil. I think if they were left in the fryer longer and the oil hadn't been stale, they would have passed as edible but as is, we only ate a few of them. The frisco burger was good but it just needed something more-maybe had the onions been grilled, maybe if there was some sort of condiment on it (mayo? 1000 Island? Something?) it would have been better. My husbands super burger came out without the bacon he had asked for. It was difficult to get the attention of anyone to let them know. When we finally did, the server told us the cook had cooked the bacon but just forgot to put it on the burger. Ok. No biggie. He also asked for some mayo as his burger was pretty dry like mine. They quickly gave him some but there was absolutely nothing to spread it on with-no knife, no fork, no spoon. He tried to get the attention of someone to ask for something but they were attending to other guests. Not wanting his burger to get cold, he did his best to spread the mayo with a French fry and went ahead and ate. The burger patties are obviously frozen burgers, sort of disappointing for a diner. They were dry and completely lacked flavor. The crinkle fries were honestly about the best thing we ate at Black Stone. Service. Or lack thereof. At no time did anyone ask us if everything was ok. Once we were finished, we waited about 10 minutes before my husband finally had to walk up to the counter to ask for the check. The server was very kind and apologetic about the bacon mishap but the customer service here needs some improvement. There were only about 4 other parties here so it wasn't particularly busy. I have a strict restaurant policy: if the food is good but the service is bad, I chalk it up to a bad day and I'll overlook it. If the service is good but the food is bad, I'll chalk that up to me just not choosing the right menu item and I'll give it another try. However, if the food AND the service is bad, it's a hard no for me. Like I said, I really wanted to love this little hole-in-the-wall diner joint. Ok, I know this place is probably a neighborhood gem but there are some things going on there that will ensure I am a one and done customer. Let's look at kitchen hygiene. Maybe gloves aren't required for food handlers in Wisconsin but switching between hand held utensils and holding raw food (shredded potatoes) is questionable. And once the potatoes are on the flat top the guy grabs toasted bread with the same potato juice covered hand. For the food, it is as good as you would expect from a local diner. The only exception was my hash browns which were nice and crusty outside but the inside shreds were warm at best. Not terrible. Just not worth a repeat visit. read more

I've been here once before and I must say for the amount of food and the quality of service is wa above standard here at Blackstone. The dinner was good hot and served quickly. It was very good. I had the fish sandwich combo with a creamy spinach soup on the side. I wasn't a fan of of the soup. It was too salty for my palate. The waitresses graciously brought me a sample of the chicken n dumpling soup which was much better. Every wait person visited our table checking on us without being overbearing. We have been here a few times since we are always looking for some late night dining on Thursdays when my wife flies in late, and it's great that they are open 24/7. The service has always been fast and friendly. The atmosphere is definitely diner, which is great since there are so few true diners around. The food is pretty good good - good friend chicken, great meat loaf, good sandwiches with the usually sides that seem to just work well with the meals. Is it great food? What I love about the Blackstone it's one of the very few local restaurants that is open 24/7 in Green Bay. Whatever you want at anytime, you can get it at the Blackstone for a fairly cheap price. It's kind of a dirty looking dinner, but at the same time it's kind cozy. The crowd can seem a little creepy, but everyone is friendly and to themselves. The servers have been great and on top of everything when I've been there. I don't think I've gone here during the day. Usually I go here after midnight with friends when we need a late night meal. The breakfast burritos always hit the spot for me, especially when you add salsa and sour cream. I can always count on the Blackstone when my stomach is growling for a midnight snack. read more

A classic 24 hour diner, in business since 1908! Breakfast served anytime. Counter with stools, as well as tables and booths. It is like a throwback to many years ago. I went in here intending to eat healthy, but I knew they probably had an incredible cheeseburger. Yes, they do have veggie burgers. Yes, they do have salads. They even have oatmeal with fruit and nuts, if you wish. But, when in Rome, do as the Romans, when in a diner, get a cheeseburger with fried onions, fries and a cup of chili. The cheeseburger was perfect, served on a perfectly grilled bun, with generous amount of cheese, a 1/4 pound patty done just right, not too greasy, not too thick, just the right proportions of everything, oh, my, awesome! The fries were ok. The chili had a good amount of meat, a few beans, good spicing. The waitress was friendly, attentive, nice. The atmosphere is small town diner. Lots of early 1900s Green Bay photos on the walls in the side room. Still has a real pay phone. I have not been in this authentic a diner in many, many years. What you see is what you get. Absolutely no pretense, just good honest food. And don't even think of ordering espresso here. read more
