My mother and I stopped in here yesterday and it was fantastic! This is our new favorite restaurant. We could not believe how good it was. The quality of the food was amazing. Our biggest shock was the portion sizes for the price and the value. We got a three course meal for only a little more then what fast food places charge. Really good. I got a stir fry with steak and some chili for the appetizer. Our waitress was really nice people were nice. The mood was really nice lighting was just right so that it wasn't too dark or i was getting blinded. The strawberry lemonade is really good too usually when I get it at other restaurants it's way too tart or too sweet. I was very frustrated and disappointed with my experience tonight for sure. Numerous issues. Waitress had a poor attitude and when I made her aware of the wrong drink she rolled her eyes and walked away. My ordered the meatloaf dinner, was horribly dry, didn't get veggies or dessert offered. Kids chicken tenders were over cooked and kids chocolate milk was expired or something, it was just bad. When I made person at register aware he did nothing but say "oh sorry about that." Ate here for brunch. Honestly I only gave it 2 stars because I thought our server was very nice and the chicken was good. Everything else was awful. I ordered chicken and waffles. The waffles seemed like they were froze. And reheated. The chicken was good. And the hash brown was gummy. I ordered it crispy. Which it was on the outside, but inside it was just gummy. I didn't eat any of it but the chicken thigh. My husband ordered a breakfast platter. It was all the same. Not good. And our bill was a whopping $47! For 2 people! This restaurant is a diamond in the rough. They offer a relaxed atmosphere with soft music playing in the background. First off, the service that we received went above and beyond. Anny did a great job, was insightful, and extremely friendly. This location has Wednesday specials which include soup or salad, bread, a potato, a vegetable, an entree, and a dessert, all for a reasonable price. My husband had the ribs and said they were so tender that they fell off the bone. Needless to say, he devoured them before I even thought to take a picture. He also ordered the salad and said that he could actually taste how fresh it was. I ordered the lasagna and it was delicious! My daughter and I had the chicken dumpling soup and it was both flavorful and filling. My daughter ordered the fried chicken sandwich and was able to add lettuce, tomato, ranch, and hot sauce to it to make it a buffalo chicken sandwich. She was beyond excited about her meal and said she would definitely order it again. My son had the kids meal with chicken strips and fries and he thoroughly enjoyed them. For dessert my son wanted more of their delicious bread, my husband had the hot fudge sundae, and my daughter and I shared the strawberry shortcake. Everything was scrumptious! I can't express how much we enjoyed this restaurant and loved the variety of foods on the menu. I would highly recommend Golden Basket to anyone looking for good food at a reasonable price. Went here on 7/8/22 pm, first time here.... Met some friends here. Very clean inside and welcoming. Staff are very nice and professional. I wish I would have taken more food pics. Menu laid out nicely. Prices very reasonable. I got the 2 piece white meat, Clam Chowder, potato choice I got fries, I didn't use the desert that came with my meal and gave it to a friend which I think was ice cream ... Food I had was hot and very fresh. The fish u will see pic's is baked haddock- now I will need to get back here and get that next time. It is a generous about and comes baked. This may seem like a 'paid review' but bare with me. First, Service. The staff was really nice and they got the food out VERY quickly, the water only took 2 minutes. Plus, the food only took 12 minutes! Second off, Food. Overall the food was good! And what a I said before, the food arrived quickly. Many good food options too. Lastly, Ambiance. The place was pretty relaxing with a lot of senior citizens, not too loud, not too quiet. Great atmosphere for a cozy place to eat breakfast, lunch, or even dinner.. Then they seated nine people in two booths obviously reservations mean nothing beware. The weight staff was friendly. The food was good. We've been here several times. One of our regular places when we are in town. You'd think with the large menu it would be tough to do well - but they make it happen. Food has been great, service is usually great too. And, when little mistakes might happen (because we all make them, it's ok) they go above and beyond to make it right. I recommend... the menu. The diner style restaurant was clean, had excellent service and served food that was ok. The split pea soup was excellent, the chicken noodle soup had a chicken bone in it but was excellent otherwise. Spaghetti with meat sauce with meatballs was good. This place has fallen off a cliff for me. Had a meal with another person and it was pretty much a disaster from the moment we walked in. Place wasn't too busy. First, we get a waitress whose English is tenuous at best, but likes to finish our sentences while ordering. Ordered two bowls of clam chowder and mozzarella sticks for appetizers. Soup was okay, not outstanding, mozz sticks weren't totally done and their "house" marinara sauce is obviously their meat-infused spaghetti sauce. It throws the taste off and doesn't even adhere to the mozz stick. And someone did a feeble microwave job on it, it was warm in spots and cool in others. Kitchen so lazy they don't even try to stir it after microwaving it. Lo and behold we aren't even halfway through the apps and here's our entree's! My Reuben was on the smallish side and the meat was gathered in the middle of the sandwich in a ball. Easy inch of plain bread around the perimeter, and my fries were "walked through" the fryer, still white, oily, limp and inedible. So, if a place can't even try to make fries right and it gets through the waitress to my table, we have problems. And my dad's chicken stir fry was equally horrible. He said the broccoli was raw, the chicken rubbery and dry. I looked at it and while it had a sear, they obviously microwaved a breast that was probably left over from yesterday from cold. Lazy, lazy, lazy. And my dad can put away food, believe me. He has no OFF switch. He had two bites and went to the bathroom, came back and asked if we could leave since I was 3/4 of the way done with my sandwich. Had to seek out waitress a second time for the check as we sat expecting it as fast as the entree's came. Around the 15 minute mark I went to find her. The whole meal/experience sucked and for $50 I felt dirty walking out. It wasn't worth $15. Try harder. You used to be an okay option but for me those days are over. I can't stand a lazy kitchen. I can't stand even less a lazy kitchen that is so brazen in putting out crap food and an establishment with no check system on what's getting out to the floor. This particular waitress and the managers are complicit in these failures. One star. read more

This place does not skimp on the portions. My beef tips were some of the best I have ever had. Sometimes the gravy can be really salty and/or have that powdered mix flavor. Not here!! Thick, rich, beefy gravy with the most tender tips. No gristle to be found. Comes with soup or salad AND dessert!! My kinda place. You can pay a lil extra to upgrade to pie, but I went with tapioca cuz I was fulfilling a recent craving as well. Not your mothers tapioca, but it was still good. My stepfather picked the place for his father's day/birthday dinner. I suggested we could go anywhere, but I'm so glad we came here. Very reasonable, and it even filled me up for dinner and then breakfast. The menu is diverse and vast with rotating specials. My dining guests both had the veggie stir fry partially due to their restricted dies, but they had it before and loved it Our server was young but attentive, and much better service than most seasoned servers. The waiter completely messed up our order and charged us extra. We only got 2 waffles and some French toast and we were charged $24?!? Also didn't receive our sausage. For take out on a rough Saturday, I am going to have to give this five stars! I ordered the steak philly and my coworker got a club. All of us had soup and fruit as well. The cream of broccoli is absolutely fantastic with big chunks of fresh veggies. The staff was super friendly when I called with questions and the gentleman at the counter when I picked up was great. I've been working just down the road all this time and never knew about this gem! It's fantastic that you can sub fruit in place of fries for a healthier alternative. Family style basic restaurant about to receive the least favorable review I've written to date on any establishment. I visited here on a Saturday afternoon with the expectations of having a typical chain restaurant type meal. The negatives: 1. It was a cooler Spring day and we were seated right under an air vent blowing cold air. 2. The waitress brought my salad & my wife's soup followed by our dinners (chicken) within 2 minutes of each other, telling us the chicken was prepared sooner than she thought. 3. We had to ask the waitress for the bread/cracker basket that should have come with the soup/salad. 4. The mixed vegetables that came with the dinner were cold. 5. My wifes soda was empty, mine was almost empty. We weren't offered a refill, my wife had to wave our waitress down to ask for another. Her drink was refilled and I was left with an almost empty glass. 6. It's hard to screw up broasted chicken but with how bad the rest of the experience was I don't have anything good to say about the food. I guess the price was affordable. The restaurant is dated. Perhaps they might be an ok place for breakfast but I doubt I'll return to find that out. read more
