I come here often and my experience is consistent every time. Staff is always very friendly and the service is good. I'm typically visiting to grab an OG avocado toast or some other breakfast item and definitely a coffee. I tend to go for their seasonal specials which are always a hit. This is a great place to chill, work or converse. The patio has plenty of seating with heaters for added warmth.

I love all of the Not Just Coffees in Charlotte. They are all a little different when it comes to the atmosphere and the food menu, but the coffee and espresso is consistently great at all of them. This location is connected to green brothers juice! I've only been on Saturdays, but it always seems to draw a crowd. I've had their drip coffee and cappuccino and both were great. As for food, I can't recommend the yogurt bowl enough! Great portion and the granola is amazing.

This is a nice coffee shop in a nice area of town with nice people! This location has good options of hot and cold coffee drinks and some pastries. Staff is friendly and helpful and there is free parking with plenty of spots. 100% recommended.

I had this nice coffee shop bookmarked and decided to check it out on a rainy day. They a a BIG latte and that was a winner for me, their food options were good as well, limited, but good. I had the breakfast sandwich with bacon, cheese and egg on a sourdough bread and it was just a good addition to my latte. They also have a sister store, you can access from inside for smoothies and juices. I'll come back for that next time as I do love this neighborhood. The shop wasn't packed as they have a good sitting area both inside and outside, but their crowd seemed to come in and enjoy their drinks while walking. It's a nice spot to dog watch as most of their costumers had a dog and they were all sooo cute. I'll definitely will come back!

On my way to the weekly food shop, I stopped in to get a caffeine boost. Friendly service with everyone behind the counter wearing masks properly. They've switched to electronic payments only so no cash at this time. Even though cortado is not on the menu, they knew what it is and took my order for one. A few minutes later, the young lady brought it to my table (table service!) and it was perfect. A cortado is half expresso and half steamed (not foamed) milk and it's supposed to be served in a short glass. And that's what I got today. Perfect presentation! The coffee was delicious. Nice and rich, good flavor, with the right amount of milk. It was exactly the hit I needed to start my shopping day! NJC is a quiet spot with seats for sitting and perhaps doing some laptop work. They have free wifi and I spotted power outlets. On a nice day (not today, it was cold), the big windows open for fresh air. [Review 16506 overall - 3159 in North Carolina - 14 of 2022.]

This is walkable from Freedom Park, about 27 minutes and it is so cute! The building is in brick and there's cute inside and outdoor, covered seating. Highly recommend walking over here or ordering your drink to enjoy at Freedom Park. Not just coffee has great drinks and their current summer special is a strawberry matcha that comes either hot or iced. So good!!

    Negronis and a cortado

Not just coffee, indeed! I'm certainly glad we made the trek down to Dilworth from our hotel in Uptown. We had heard from one of our local friends that this place served up excellent Negronis, and boy, was he correct! So good, that my wife and I both had to get two rounds! I also ordered a cortado, which made very little sense during happy hour, but I can't go to a coffee spot and NOT get a coffee drink. I'm glad I did! The cortado was perfectly steamed, and the espresso was nicely-pulled! Oddly enough, chasing a cortado with a Negroni turned out to be amazing. Sounds kind of nasty, but there was a chocolate-covered berry finish that was really pleasant. I would do that again, without question. So, expertly-prepared coffee beverages, and a top-notch cocktails? What else could you want? Well, the space is awesome, too! We had our dog, so we sat out on their small patio, but the inside was also really nice and cozy! To top all of those positives, the staff at this location were awesome! Super friendly and outgoing. When we told the bartender that we heard he made a great Negroni he was up for the challenge, even stopping by to check on them and nerding about gin with us for a few minutes. Really nice people! As we sat outside, watching the sun set and sipping delicious cocktails, my wife and I joked that if we lived in Charlotte, we knew where we'd have to live so we could do this all of the time!

I know I made it look very pretty in my photos, but don't be fooled. Here is the complete review. We found the green tomatoes bland and appeared to have been frozen before being prepared. The "Gravy Train" with the mini biscuit was inedible. The gravy itself was OK. Nothing special, not one of the three were "great." But the mini biscuits were terrible, hard, dense chunks of dough. I ate one of them and discarded the rest. The "Chicken Ditch the Waffle" was equally terrible. Whatever they did to turn the biscuit into "fake" French toast is a 100% fail. They were as dense and unappealing as the mini biscuits. The chicken itself was fine. If I was only rating the chicken I'd probably give it a 3.5. The best dish was actually the "GOAT." It was served with a Standard biscuit which we thought was still too dense and dry. I recommend finding an independent restaurant that serves real, "from scratch" food. I should point out that the service crew in the dining room who delivered the food as well as provided cleanup and assistance, were exceptional. They were friendly, courteous, and focused on customer service. I'm sure they deserve more than they are being paid. It was obvious many of them were spanish-speaking immigrants. Not everyone in the restaurant treated them with the respect and gratitude they deserve. Here's the detail of our order from their menu. They even have a "Dietary Preference" menu (look for it online), with keto, gluten-free, and vegetarian options. I like the Spanish Omelet keto-style. Instead of a biscuit and grits, you get a half of an avocado (sliced) and a roasted tomato. The omelet is always full of flavor, and I love it. My husband's favorite is their White Chocolate Bread Pudding Pancakes, with bacon ($2 extra). Don't let the name deter you--these pancakes aren't too thick. They are slightly chewy, and the white chocolate whiskey sauce is amazing. He rarely uses the syrup! Ruby's coffee is always good and strong, and their service is great, no matter who you get. They were fried so well and topped with bacon, tomato, lettuce, and a tasty remoulade. I'm still thinking about them honestly! For my entrée, I ordered the 3 Little Pigs Omelet. Unfortunately, it was a bit underwhelming. It was smaller than I expected and didn't really resemble an omelet. It was a little messy and slightly runny for my taste. On the side, I added a single pancake and a bowl of grits, both of which were delicious though. I had a good experience and will definitely be back. I just wish the omelet had been prepared a little better.
