I been here a few times and the staff is just eh. I've asked a few questions and it doesn't seem like they are happy to help! I'll give the service a pass because everytime I go here the coffee is always good, no complaints about milk ratio, sweetness, etc it's good every time! I would give the food especially the breakfast sandwich a 7/10. The breakfast sandwich is rather small and it's $7 or $8. It's yummy but it's not very filling. It's easy to get to especially with how crazy south end can get! Lots of parking available most of the time but it's also very easy to walk to and there isn't normally a line even early in the morning. I can't remember exactly what my tea was called but it was SO good!! I believe it's a seasonal. Something similar to iced apple ginger spiced chai. The service was pretty quick for how busy it was. Came on a Sunday morning and this place was busy, however, service was quick. I ordered the ginger chai and a BEC which came out to about $15.. which was a little pricey given the small size of the sandwich. The chai was great- served hot and spicy with big tastes of ginger. The sandwich had thick slices of bacon and was a good size for a mid morning snack (but may not fill you up if you're counting on it solely for breakfast). There are some tables outside in the shade. This place is conveniently located so you can grab your drink/eats and walk along the rail trail. read more

Stumbled into this coffee shop while I was doing some window shopping on a Thursday afternoon. I loved the spacious setup and there were a few options for seating, so I didn't feel cramped. To be honest, I wasn't expecting too much from this spot, but it actually exceeded my expectations. The strawberry matcha was a real treat. The milk tasted like the strawberry Nesquik milk that was super popular in the early 2000s and it was a nice contrast to the matcha. If you like a traditional, earthy, matcha with tons of umami, it might not be your bag, but I was a fan. I also appreciated that the matcha was stored and prepped properly. No oxidizing matcha in glass containers over here. Service was quick and informative. Happy I stopped by. read more

I frequent this location, especially now that the Church St location is closed. It gets very busy I've even arrived around 7 am after a workout class and the people were streaming in! They have a separate kitchen tucked away and there's some additional seating in that area, such a chill space. I am a huge fan of the OG avocado toast. It's the best I've had from any restaurant, my opinion. Keeps me coming back for more when I don't have the ingredients to make it at home. I love thro coffee, matcha and lattes also. We stopped at Not Just Coffee for a quick bite before heading out on a hike. The biscuit, egg, and bacon breakfast sandwich was one of the best breakfasts I've had lately and the seasonal drink options were great. This is one of my favorite coffees in Charlotte specifically the Dolly Latte which is a blueberry vanilla latte. I get mine with Oatmilk and sweetened bit more it is soooo delicious and creamy. Price point is a little high but the quality and taste of coffee is amazing! The smoked salmon toast is my go to it's soo flavorful and filling. I had 10 minutes to kill before Warby Parker opened so I stopped by to grab a matcha latte. Cute coffee spot in South End with food, seating for remote working, etc. price is on par with other coffee spots around Charlotte. The cashier answered all my questions about the matcha latte (sweetness and caffeine levels) and didn't make me feel rushed. My order came out in about 3 minutes and it was good! Stopped by here after getting my permanent jewelry fixed, which was really convenient and easy access. They have menu options from coffees, teas, and some food jeans, but no non-caffeinated drinks (minus hot chocolate). I ordered an iced americano and an iced chai latte, which came to a total of $10. Came here w/ a friend after a Yelp search. We were on foot so limited choices, but this place popped up and looked great. We needed some good coffee. We ordered their Fall Seasonal Coffee drink which had an array of nice savory spices, and with Oat Milk. I got a French Vanilla Latte w/ Oat milk. Both of our coffee drinks were very good, especially the Fall Seasonal Coffee drink - wow - had really good flavor and was very smooth. Should have gotten another one to go. Service here was meh. Kinda straight-forward business like and no smiles on this day. Not sure if it was due to the holiday stress but they were not too busy. Had they been more friendlier - and also have some sugar free syrup options - I would have put this at a 5-star review. Interesting location and vibe. Kind of a yuppie type place with great coffee. A friendly young woman walked in with a dog on a leash and I asked, "Is that a French Bulldog?" She responded, "I don't know, I'll just fostering the dog." Very friendly exchange and a friendly dog. An exchange that let me know she was more than a simple dog owner. I love going to Not Just Coffee when I'm in the Atherton area. Their coffee is solid, and the house made syrups are delicious. Don't miss out on getting caramel syrup in your drink. The food pick up is in a different area than the coffee pickup which I wasn't familiar with and no one tells you when ordering. The lighting is really nice with skylights and there were plenty of tables when I went if you want to chill a bit. The coffee was nice but nothing really special. I got bacon and egg sandwich. The sandwich had a mix of sweet and savory, but it was filling. It's priced higher than a lot of restaurants, so it's not really a quick grab and go option. Nice little morning spot to drop in for a quick morning Java in Atherton Mill. In and out in about 7 minutes. Coffee was nothing spectacular but it was definitely tasty and it got the job done. $6.50 for a oat milk latte - value is average. To eh always have a seasonal latte which they make the syrup for, my favorite to date is the strawberry matcha latte but this past time I had a pistachio latte and you could even taste the small bits of pistachios in the latte. I have been to Atherton Mill in South End dozens of times but have yet to come across this coffee spot until last week.. but I am so glad I did! It's hidden inside the shops near Living Kitchen, so lots of parking outside! I only stopped in for national hot chocolate day to grab a warm drink but ended up working for a bit due to the calm atmosphere, with lots of natural light and small tables. I will definitely be going back to try one of their iced coffees or baked goods, but if nothing else.. that hot chocolate was so deliciously sweet and brought me right back to my childhood! Visited here for the first time today. It has a very pleasant coffee house/Cafe vibe. It's a good place to study . I noticed several places to plug your device. Also, the music was not on too loud which I appreciated. I have been to a few places lately where the music was on so loud it was difficult to have a conversation. Thankfully that was not the case here. I ordered the lavender mocha which was really good. We also ordered the Quiche, which came with a nice salad, both were very delicious. Just as an fyi , the food orders come out at a different location than the drink orders and you pick it up yourself. The only thing is we had to wait quite awhile for the Quiche to be prepared. While it was very tasty, the presentation could have been better. I would have preferred it to be on a washable reusable plate rather than a card board box. It's located in a very nice area with lots of eclectic fashionable shops to check out. I would definitely come here again. There are power outlets all about and they have a free wifi. This is a nice spot and the music was at a comfortable level that wasn't disturbing. Their espresso machine was surprisingly quiet. Coffee? I had a short cortado which is a small cup that is half espresso and half steamed (not foamed) milk. You can really taste the coffee in this and it was the delicious accompaniment I wanted with my internet surfing and review writing. Masks are still required in North Carolina and all the staff were wearing theirs. Most of the customers were, too. Point of View: - Got into North Carolina and needed a place to wait for a while for some friends to arrive on a later flight. The airport was too cold and busy, so decided on a coffee place. I needed something not too far via Uber (about 15 minutes), not too busy and comfortable. Using Maps and looking at Yelp photos, this place resonated with me. The place is big and offers variety in terms of seating (so, couches, work desks and table combos for eating) Looks nice (so, welcoming but not in a too homey type of way...so you can still be productive) There is a sticker on the door that says CARD ONLY so glad I had my card on me. Staff was amazing, especially Joe, Joe was super open to and unbothered by all my questions and concerns , which is great for customer service (see his name on receipt in photo lol..thanks Joe!) What I would suggest: 1. Have staff wipe down tables more often 2. Bring food AND Coffee to table (you have to go to get your own coffee, but they bring your food to the table based on the number given) 3. Combine the Lox and Avocado Toast for a phenomenal new menu item (most people were adding smoked salmon to avocado toast anyway..I say add a Lox-Cado option but name it something more catchy lol) read more

The coffee, it's good. The food, actually quite good. But the reason I have to give this place one star is because the employees actively hate their own customers. It's one of the strangest things I've ever seen. I have been going to this place EVERY day for the past YEAR. I know all the names of all the baristas. None of them know mine. I show up at the exact same time each day, and order virtually the exact same thing each morning. Often, I will make a second trip around lunch for the follow-up hit of coffee. I've spent thousands with these people - and tipped generously. Yet, each time I walk in, they have no idea who I am. "What do you want?" they ask in a rude tone each time I visit. "Good morning," I begin with a smile in an ill fated attempt to make the conversation better. They don't care. I make my order and it is always followed by the question, "Name?" I'm here every day? I make the same request every day? I live across the street and am one of your best, if not the best, customer you have. Nope, they can't be bothered to remember a name. So I tell them my name and its a 50/50 gamble they get it right. I normally get "Andrew", "Conner", I've gotten "Hubub" and even "Collin". None of these are my name. My name is HUNTER. Every day, its the same name - I haven't changed it. It's not loud, its 8:15am. It's simply that they couldn't care less. Most of the time they are on their phones, and have a distain towards each and every person who patron's the business. At least, in that regard, I might not be unique. Forbid they mess up your order and you call them out on it. When you pay these prices for coffee and a small sandwich, it better be what you ordered. I very politely bring it to their attention, and the response is always a shrug and they wait for you to ask for the fix. If you ask for the fix, there is ALWAYS an eye roll and they make it feel like this is your fault. "Hi, it was an iced coffee - thank you." Shrug. "Could we... make it iced?" Eye roll, takes coffee and acts like I have inconvenienced them. Same story every time. Genuinely, it's sad. I wanted to love this place - and the coffee is good and the food is actually quite good. But honestly, after a YEAR of coming here and being treated, not even as a stranger, but as nothing - worthless and unworthy of their time, I cannot endorse this business. I'm done with Not Just Coffee. I'll be going to Bitty and Beau's. The coffee is not nearly as good. The food is non-existent, but at least they know my name and they are excited to serve the customer - in contrast to the pretentious, rude, and honestly unfriendly staff at Not Just Coffee. It pains me to write this review - but I'm done. You've lost your BEST customer. After spending THOUSANDS with you, BRINING you business, and trying my best to be kind and GENEROUS to an unappreciative staff, I have now resolved to never return. This was my first time trying this coffeeshop. I know that they have a few locations, I tried the Atherton Mill location. I must say, I'm impressed! I ordered their seasonal Butterscotch Sage latte. It was DELICIOUS!! I would definitely recommend. The interior was very nice. I love the decor, it was an industrial kind of style. The exposed brick, pipes and vents gave it a nice casual style. The plants give a nice touch! There's a wall with random words, not sure of the origin but it was super cool (photo attached). The noise level was low with your average conversations and clicking of eating utensils. There were plenty of seats. The Atherton Mill location has free parking on site. This place is so great! It's a charming little coffee shop by the train station in what appears to be an old refurbished station, so cool! The coffee is the BEST I've had in a long time!! Visiting from Ohio and wanted a place that was quiet and I could work from with good coffee. This checked all the boxes and exceeded expectations!! I love this location of Not Just Coffee but the parking is always very difficult to find. There's a bunch of retail shops in this area so there's always people trying to find parking. I've been here twice in two weeks and the actual coffee shop is typically quiet and not too crowded. Perfect for a wfh day!
