I grabbed a quick latte after a workout class as I was heading back to my hotel. I got there shortly after it opened so it was just the barista and me. I had been warned the coffee was strong but I found my vanilla latte to be delightful and the barista got it out quick. The space is large and cozy. Seems like a perfect spot to telework.

I stopped in on my way back to my hotel! My hubby and I love coffee shops and cold brews have become our favorite coffee of choice! I ordered the cold brew with white chocolate syrup and cold foam! The cold foam was thick and sweet, just as like! The coffee is definitely STRONG! I can handle it. The service was friendly, quick and helpful. There's soft rock playing in the background as I sit at the window Watching people walk by! It's my kind of vibe!! I would definitely come back.

We were in town for the Charlotte marathon and came here for coffee. They weren't doing food because of the crowds - but the coffee was great. I got the snickerdoodle iced latte and my girlfriend got the peppermint bark latte. Both were very good and fun festive flavors. The workers were definitely stressed, but I don't blame them given the circumstance.

Overall a good spot! Always order a cortado at coffee shops I've never been to so I can get a good taste of the espresso and feel out the milk texture, both were good here! Inside is a nice quiet vibe with light music in the back, a good place to work/ study from. Only reason I gave 4 stars is because while the service was quick it was super surface level and didn't feel like the baristas were really paying attention to me more of just chatting with each other. Would still come back though!

Everything to love about a coffee shop! Spacious area to meet up or do work. The flavor combinations are vast and pretty unique. I ordered an iced mint, brown sugar latte that was so good! Perfect combo of flavor and not too sweet. They also have sweeter combinations like the snickerdoodle latte. I would definitely return to try their other flavors

I've been to another location, and this one doesn't quite live up to my expectations. I love the space and the decor but the coffee tasted "okay". I ordered a coffee with lavender syrup, which tasted quite watered down. Overall, a nice place to work and study, but I came for the coffee!

Love the lavender and rose lattes. Download the app to order hotels sandwiches on a croissant or bagel or coffee (or both) ahead of time and escape the line on pickup...all while earning reward points! Every 65 points in the app gets you a $7 credit on a future order! Great quality, would choose over Starbucks any day of the week.

Spacious interior. On point with a coffee shop vibe. Mellow music, but they didn't upgrade for ad free. The ads were a bit distracting and loud. Coffee was good. They had a lot of variety and seasonal selections. They had a food menu and some sweet treats as well. Adjacent to the cashier is a grab and go counter of sorts for more packaged items. Water wan also had a wide variety of teas to steep in or packaged for retail quick checkout.

Just like the other Waterbean in Uptown, it's clean and staff is very friendly. I like that they offer non-coffee drinks. They also offer pastries and baked goods that are delicious. They also have a small order window outside that you can use if you don't want to go inside. There is plenty of seating to hang out and work.

Stumbled upon this spot while checking out Charlotte, NC. My friend got the honey lavender latte and I got a lavender hot chocolate, both with oat milk. Best hot chocolate I ever had!! I only had a sip of the latte, but that was well built as well. Loved this spot. Go find them if you're ever in Charlotte!!

Exceptional music and ambience. The coffee was great and the baristas were skilled enough to take my order that has always confused Starbucks. We also really enjoyed the pumpkin muffin. Prices are reasonable and the staff were kind. I'd highly recommend.

I ordered the "customer favorite": egg-sausage-cheese biscuit (not at all French I'll admit). It was quite nice with a light fresh biscuit cheddar and better than average sausage patty. I took away a classic croissant, chocolate croissant and fresh fruit tart. All of these were excellent. I definitely recommend.

Review for Amélie's French Bakery & Café…read more As a transplant from the West Coast--specifically San Francisco, where high-quality bakeries and true French pâtisseries are plentiful--I was genuinely excited to try Amélie's after moving to Charlotte. Unfortunately, my experience was disappointing, and after giving it more than one chance, it's simply not a place I plan to return to. The concept feels more like a themed destination than a serious bakery. The interior is whimsical and eye-catching, with decorative elements like a faux Eiffel Tower, which clearly appeals to visitors looking for a fun atmosphere. However, if you've spent time in authentic French cafés or bistros, you know the real charm is understated elegance--wood, mirrors, tile, and craftsmanship. This felt more theatrical than authentic. Where it fell short for me was the food. For a place calling itself a French bakery and pâtisserie, the absence of classic laminated pastries was surprising. I was expecting staples like Napoleons, kouign-amann, or beautifully executed croissants. What I found instead were pastries that looked average and lacked the refinement and technique you'd expect from a true pâtisserie. On my visits, I tried: * A leek soup that was supposed to be cream-based but tasted thin and under-seasoned--more like warm vegetable water than a properly developed soup. * A baguette sandwich with fig, Brie, and apple that sounded promising but was poorly executed. The bread was overly hard, and the balance of ingredients felt off, making the sandwich less enjoyable than expected. I gave Amélie's two chances, hoping the second visit would change my impression. It didn't. To be fair, the café clearly has a loyal following and works well as a social or casual gathering spot. But if you're specifically looking for high-quality French pastries or refined bakery craftsmanship, there are stronger options in the Charlotte area. Personally, I'd recommend: * Renaissance Patisserie for more traditional European-style pastries * Paris Baguette at Rea Farms for consistency and better execution * Or trusted local favorites closer to home Bottom line: Fun atmosphere, but the food didn't meet expectations for a French bakery. After multiple visits, it's a pass for me.

The area was clean and the cute interior makes for a good social media photo op. The menu has good variety and explorative flavors that encourages repeat visits. I got a Mango Milk Tea and was not disappointed. It gave a Mango Lassi vibe and was very refreshing. My only downside was the bottom of the drink tasted gritty and had a white residue left at the bottom. Also, I initially wanted the drink with light ice and this was my first encounter at a shop that charges extra for light ice (45 cents). Not a huge deal and I understand that companies incur more costs for light ice or no ice. Maybe I could justify the additional charge for getting the drink without ice, but I still wanted ice---just not a lot of it. I just would've like to have been told about it or seen some signage about the additional charge since the toppings and other add ons are listed out. I could've missed where it was listed out, but I don't think I saw anything written out. Nonetheless, after a few healthy gulps, I was sad that the drink was gone. I would come back to try other items.

The atmosphere was nice, it has the "work on your laptop or catch up with friends" cafe vibe. Somewhere you can hang for several hours and sip and coffee as you work/talk. I don't think I was the target demographic for this cafe sadly. I ordered a BE&C on a bagel. I originally had planned to go to a more "bagel-focused" shop, but they were closed. That's where I feel I was not the target demographic; I was looking to just order a bagel on my morning commute. I should have noticed the atmosphere/vibe of the cafe and realized that this was not going to be fast. It ended up taking over 30 minutes from the time I paid to the time I got my food (genuinely, I looked at the time my credit card was swiped and compared it to the time it was when I got my food). Now, I will say, if I had ordered coffee and brought a book, the wait probably wouldn't have been too much of a bother. The staff was really friendly, and the bathrooms were also very clean! The bagel was not my favorite bagel, but it was on par for a non-bagel-focused coffee shop. It wasn't bad by any means, but I would not order it if you were wanting "real" bagel.
