I was looking for a coffee shop near our Airbnb and I was lucky enough to find this one. The space is pretty big with ample seating if you wanted to come and work there for the day. I ordered a vanilla iced latte with almond milk which was pretty good! The barista was super nice & friendly. During my stay in Matthews I'll definitely keep coming back for my coffee fix.

This is a smaller location located inside a church lobby. Plenty of seating to choose from if you want to pop in and work. They only have a few food options as well as pastries. Convinient location and coffee was delicious.

Had the best morning out at the new Platform on our side of town! The scones were UNREAL and the coffee was even better. Josh was so kind, the service was perfect, and it was a perfect setting for a mom's morning out! Can't wait to be back.

They always run out of food options. It is ridiculous. I've tried to go get food multiple times and they are somehow out of everything.

First impression was good. The restaurant itself looked clean and family-oriented. It had a diner-like feel. We ordered breakfast. (Breakfast is served all day.) Our server was very pleasant, attentive and friendly. I ordered one chocolate chip pancake with strawberries and whipped cream, and a turkey sausage patty. My husband had an omelet with hash browns and a biscuit. Overall, we thought everything was very good. My husband said he prefers his hash browns more browned and crunchy; and that his biscuit could have been a little better, but he was still pleased with his meal. I have no complaints about my pancake and turkey sausage. The thing I liked most about this place was that there were many choices on the menu, and the prices were reasonable. Finally, a place you can enjoy that has good food, a nice atmosphere and won't cost you an arm and a leg. This is closest to a real diner that I've eaten at in a long time. As we waited for our food to come out (which didn't take long at all), we noticed other waitstaff delivering amazing-looking food to tables. Our mouths were watering!! We will definitely be back. A very enjoyable experience.

Biscuits and gravy are a southern staple and rarely have I had any that were really good, except here at Vicious Biscuit. Biscuits are their business. The most important elements are the biscuits and the gravy. Additions are many and varied, but if the basic two items are not both excellent, you will have a disappointing experience. The Vicious biscuit is the size of a hamburger bun. It is soft and there are bits of spice in the dough. These biscuits do not fall apart, but stay together and serve to soak up the wonderful sausage gravy that is poured on top of it. You can order just a biscuit with gravy for $8. And if you are timid, start here. Otherwise, there are add-ons like very good fried chicken, shrimp and grits, ham, pulled smoked pork, crab, bacon, fried shrimp. fried eggs and other combos. Super choices, so take time to study the menu which is extensive. Portions are great, very generous. I had their Vicious ($12). It was their Cheddar jalapeño biscuit, crispy fried chicken, maple sausage gravy, cowboy candy, with maple syrup drizzle. I was hesitant as to the maple syrup, but it is just enough to give accent to the gravy, but not super sweet. Wife had Fried Green 'Maters ($9.50) which were four fried green tomatoes, their signature pimento cheese with a pickled okra garnish. She could not eat it all, so I helped finish off the lone tomato and a bit of the cheese. Very good. Vicious Biscuit is more that a meal, it is an experience, even a journey, through this traditional southern staple, biscuits and gravy. Enjoy the trip. We might see you there.

I just wanted something to snack on so despite the large menu, I chose to get a guava and cheese empanada. The flavor was good but it wasn't worth the price tag (almost $5). I tried to order a nitro cold brew but was told they were out, and had been for years.....so I ordered an iced cafe con leche. I had to ask for it 3 times because the cashier didn't seem to know what is was, despite being on the menu hanging above her head. Her co-worker had to show her which button to hit on the POS. I'm sorry to say that this was the worst coffee I've ever had. No flavor at all. It tasted like watered down milk. They should probably fix their menu because calling that a cafe con leche was completely misleading. Overall, a very unpleasant experience.

My waitress was bright and smiling on this early Sunday morning. I ordered my usual "test" plate I use on 1st trips to get a feel for the place. Nailed it! Fast, hot, freakin' delicious. When she set my plate down the 1st thing I notice was my biscuit was the size of grandma's "cathead" biscuits, called that because they're that big! Eggs over easy, perfect! Sausage patties large and very good, similar to Neese's if you know what I mean, and perfect! Hashbrowns, perfect! Add the constant top-off on my coffee with the aforementioned smiles, and this is a hidden jewel in Charlotte folks. Yum yum! I ordered the Bananas Foster waffle with chicken tenders and whew...absolutely delicious. Sweet, warm, indulgent and exactly the kind of comfort food my spirit needed. My brother-in-love couldn't stop talking about his Bananas Foster pancakes with country ham -- though he did lobby for a slightly bigger serving of the ham. And my SO completely cleaned his plate of liver mush, grits, eggs and biscuit - he never does that. He also had a passion fruit margarita that he raved about the entire ride home. Honestly, taking care of me right now is a full-time job, so I fully support the brunch cocktail. What I loved most? Wakey Wakey isn't trying to be fancy or pretentious. It's just good people serving good food in a welcoming atmosphere -- and that's exactly what I needed!

The food is over the moon delicious with plenty of options and reasonable serving sizes. Even with the slightly high price point, it is well worth every penny. And they take allergies SO seriously! Literally went through a bunch of ingredients to find what would and wouldn't be dairy-allergy safe. Atmosphere is fun but cozy, too. 100% recommend! In-depth: Postino has quickly become one of my favorite places in the CLT area after my 10/10 experience here. To start, the food. My word, it's amazing! Everything my friend and I tried was delicious. The bruschetta is 100% worth trying (the spinach artichoke one is my favorite), and the west coaster panini + romaine salad was tasty at every bite. Their wine is also good quality, with a decent-sized portion poured. Allergy safety is a major thing for them, too. Our server (Lee = the best waitress!) and her manager looked through their bread and ingredients for about 30 minutes to confirm what was and wasn't dairy safe (I asked how dairy allergies are handled for when I bring my husband next time). They also had quite a few gluten-free options, too. The manager explained that she wants people to be able to just come in and relax for a few hours without worrying if they'll get sick, which I truly, truly appreciate. Lee shared a similar sentiment, which was amazing. Now price... Yes, it is a *bit* pricey, but it is well worth it. Nothing felt lacking as far as flavor goes, and the allergy safety is a huge thing. This is one of the few places I felt my sandwich and salad were worth every penny, even if it was $17. Also, their rewards program is great. I got a free bruschetta board, and they offer several other perks. Make sure to sign up before or while dining there to get some good deals! In addition to their sincere care for allergy safety, the service is fantastic all around. They do group service, meaning you'll have several servers, and they encourage you to grab anyone if you have questions. This takes the pressure off of waiting for one server to walk by and really helped me relax. And the atmosphere? I could stay there all day! It's a really fun vibe, but the lighting and seating are very cozy. Overall, I've already recommended this place to 5+ people and will be returning soon

The staff was amazing and I was astounded by their dedication to their craft. The best part was the food. We started with the chefs board which had an array of cheeses and spreads. The most memorable was the whipped feta. OMG. The Ambiance was the only thing I feel could use some tuning as there's not enough sound deadening to make the music out? It sounds like a heart beat and makes it hard to make out conversations. Major shout out to Leigh for taking care of us all night and making it a memorable night.
