It had been years since I had cake from Nothing Bundt Cakes and I forgot how good it tasted. I got my wife a birthday cake from this Nothing Bundt Cakes location in Durham and it was phenomenal. Undoubtedly, five stars. Can bundt cakes get any better than this? I'm not sure they can. I ordered online and picked up in-store same day, a Tuesday. I placed my order around 1pm for a 6pm pickup. The entire process went smoothly. When I arrived to the store, I just gave them my name and they got my cake, all wrapped up and ready to go, out from the back. It had a wow factor to it. More on that below. First, the website. It was very easy to navigate, find, and order what I wanted. To me, it was similar to ordering flowers. When there are so many options, I appreciate it when a website makes it easy to narrow down your choices. I clicked on Nothing Bundt Cakes' Birthday Cakes and saw they had 20 options. I picked the design I liked the best based on the helpful pictures. It turned out to the "Delicious Wishes" cake. The Delicious Wishes cake came with a lot of decorations on top: a bright orange bow, a small gift box with gold ribbon, a candle, and three signs. Two of the signs said "Happy Birthday" and one said "Delicious Wishes." All atop a Nothing Bundt Cakes branded cardboard base. As far as the packaging and presentation went, everything was wrapped in tall, clear, plastic wrap that was tied at the top with a bow and included a simple birthday card (could be customized online or you could handwrite something yourself), a card with the cake flavor name, cake instructions, and a little story about the history of Nothing Bundt Cakes, and a foldout photo pamphlet with info about other cake flavors and offerings. I went with the Confetti flavor which is one of the company's nine classic flavors. The cake had rainbow colors on the inside. On the outside, I got Nothing Bundt Cake's signature "frosting petals." The frosting petals are thick "tubes" of cream cheese and butter frosting that run down the outside of the cake in a sort of "burst" or "overflowing" fashion. There's also a bunch of frosting in the center. Mmm... I love frosting and I know it's good when I can keep eating it and not get sick of it. Nothing Bundt Cakes' frosting is high-quality and delicious. By default, their cakes come with a lot of frosting, relatively speaking. I thought it was funny that the website gave me the option for extra frosting ($2.50) when the default amount already seems extra. The cake I got was 8 inches (serves 8) and cost $24.00. The "Delicious Wishes" birthday decorations were an additional $8.00. After tax, the total cost was $32.64. Nothing Bundt Cakes also offers bundt cakes in 10-inch ($34.00+, serves 18) and tiered (8-inch over a 10-inch, serves 26, $70.00) sizes, plus smaller, individual-sized "Bundlets" ($4.50 each) and Bundtinis (12 for $22). The latter two options look like cupcakes. As for the cake instructions mentioned above, Nothing Bundt Cakes says their cakes are best served at room temperature and should be kept refrigerated until a couple of hours before serving. When I ordered on the website, there was a serving time section where I had to specify if my cake was being served within three hours of my pickup time. The reason why is because if the cake was going to be served more than three hours after my pickup time, the store would keep it chilled. The serving temperature is an important detail because it makes a big difference in both the texture of the cake and the frosting. It's much more enjoyable at room temperature and not cold. So, if eating leftovers/chilled cake, you do have to plan out a bit and let the cake sit out for a couple hours. The cake I purchased had perfect taste and texture. I was really impressed. Nothing Bundt Cakes' Confetti flavor is birthday cake baked with rainbow sprinkles. I like how the sprinkles weren't overdone. It was just the right amount. Overall, I thought the Confetti cake upgraded with the Delicious Wishes decorations was really fun and ideal for my wife's birthday. She loved it and felt special and that's what mattered most. Service by the two young ladies at this location was excellent. Currently, there are three Nothing Bundt Cakes locations in the Triangle. There's this one in Durham, near the Chapel Hill border, as well as locations in Morrisville and North Raleigh. A cake from Nothing Bundt Cakes is great for birthdays and other special occasions. In addition to cakes, this store sells greeting cards and other gift items. The store is nicely decorated, like a cute little boutique shop. It's located in the Hope Valley Commons shopping center on 54 at Hope Valley Road. It opened in 2017.

We are all entitled to our own opinions, right? Well here's mine: Parking: 5 Location: 3 Decor/ambiance: 4 Customer Service: 5+ I tried a mini bundt cake a couple months ago and have been craving them ever since! Finally i was in the Durham area and had to make a pit stop. What a cool little cozy shop! Great parking out front and its FREE! I was greeted immediately when I walked in by this super smiling lady names Alissa (sorry if I misspelled her name). She was so helpful and kind. She asked if it was my first time and when i responded with a YES, she proceeded to tell me about the available flavors and she even gave me a suggestion on her favorite (red velvet). I ended up purchasing the red velvet (thanks Alissa) and snicker-doodle! The mini cakes were $4.50 and they are huge! They add and retract flavors every so often according to Alissa! These cakes are beyond moist! They are so soft and yummy. Ok, enough of this... back to my cake!

I have a vendor that brings the mini's into our office a couple of times a year. Can I just tell you that he's one of my favorite vendors? I've never had a cake flavor I don't like but it's that icing that makes it. I think it's made out of angel giggles or kitten purrs...it makes me so happy that I got one for my birthday!

I tried this cake shop in Atlanta a couple years ago and fell in love. I was nervous about trying a new location when I moved to NC and I must say, this one did not disappoint. My family knows this is my favorite cake spot so they surprised me with a cake for my birthday :)

My friend got me these adorable little cakes for my baby shower. First of all, absolutely adorable!!! So nicely made and elegant. Second, OMG DELICIOUS!!! 6 different flavors and I can't decide which is best. Every part of it is delicious. I will absolutely use this place for my future cake needs.

Red Velvet Bundt cake - our employees are raving about it!
    Lacy D.

Juliana contacted me regarding partnership opportunities for our companies. The following day, she brought a beautiful Red Velvet cake for our employees to sample, and an extra sweet surprise for me - a beautiful Bundtlet tower! I told her I would be out of the office on Friday for the birthday, and she went the extra mile to include adorable candles and a sweet note. I love the personal touch and I look forward to doing business with her and the staff at Nothing Bundt Cakes!

This place has only been here for 3 weeks and it's definitely a hidden gem. I've had a sweet tooth for days and passed this place on the way home. As soon as I walked through the door I was greeted with warm welcomes. I was offered a sample of their lemon cake and it was mouth watering, bursting with flavor. I ended up ordering two single bundtlets, pumpkin spice and classic vanilla. SLAM-MIN! They were both very flavorful and not too much, if you know what I mean. I can't wait to come back and try other flavors. I'm glad I stopped by, welcome to the neighborhood:)

I love this place! I appreciate the monthly flavor they offer each month. The parking at this location is rather limiting, but everyone is very friendly upon entering the store. I tried the snickerdoodle bundlet which was amazing! Their frosting is the best! I can't wait to try all their flavors. They also have gluten free options, so a little something for everyone.

Our wedding cake and bundtinies looked absolutely perfect at our ceremony on Saturday. Everyone was saying how delicious the cake was and such a uniquely perfect choice for our ceremony. We love the confetti, chocolate, and lemon. Thanks for making our big day so special. The Singleton's

The flavor that started it all (for me, at least). 15/10

I called about 2 or so weeks in advance to order the cake said what I wanted I even asked if they did designs and the young lady on the phone said no, even though the website state you can place a custom cake order. I order Red Velvet cake with cream cheese frosting. I didn't want their standard 10" cake so I went with a 8" cake instead. The lady over the phone said I needed to pay for the entire cake upfront with bakeries I've ever ordered from only required a deposit or 50% of the cake price. I paid and was told I just needed to pick up the cake before they close the day the cake is ready. Cool beans! Fast forward I pick up the cake issue number 1 the writing on the cake is so sloppy it looked like a 5 year old could do better. It didn't fully say what I wanted it to say and when I asked if the writing could be redone the lady said there is no baker available. Okay? I picked my cake up at 3:30pm and there is no baker? I take my cake and leave it's nothing I can do about the cake situation at this point and leave. Once again I didn't pick this bakery my BF he said he knows the owner and explained the story about the owner turning a bad life situation into a good one. I believe the owners story is on the website as well. My boyfriend takes the cake out the fridge about an hour or so before cutting into it. I didn't want to complain about the cake but I'm sure my facial expressions said it all. He cuts the cake and and I eat it the middle of the cake is extremely moist and delicious but the closer you each to the edge of the cake it was overcooked dry asf... and burnt. The frosting within an inch of the frosting of the cake was dry and hard. Either the cake was still hot when the frosting was added or they left the cake out and the frosting got dry and hard. The cake was off putting and out right not good with all the textures of the cake going on. The frosting wasn't too sweet but the texture was just wrong. I called the very next day and was told to all the following day apparently, the didn't a a manager or supervisor that day once again I thought that was odd. I call again and finally have some luck. I speak with the owner who is friendly. He offers to remake the cake but it was for a birthday and we were kind of over it. He then ask what can he do? I asked him what can he do? Then I just say to be fair they used the ingredients to make the cake I would just like half my money back I paid for the cake. He agreed and he hoped the I would give them another try, why n I am not opposed to. The shop itself is super clean it's beautiful inside there is if I recalled a couple of tables and chairs to eat your desserts. The painting on the wall is cute. The is very spacious as well. I'm hoping the person who made my cake a bad baking day and I hope the cakes are not as bad I the one I received. I will just then another chance maybe not to bake my cake in the future, but try the other desserts in the dessert case.

The croissant was quite delicious as well. The bakery is located downtown so you will have to find parking, that was the only inconvenient aspect of it. We got a pack of 8 chocolates (admittedly they did cost a pretty penny haha), which ranked from my most to least favorite are: 1. Horchata: So good, the horchata essence hit me as soon as I took a bite. Very cinnamony, very milky & creamy. 2. Passionfruit: I'm a sucker for anything passionfruit. The curd-like filling did not taste artificial at all. 3. Almond cardamom: Topped with a real almond, but more cardamom forward, reminded me of chai. 4. Hazelnut sassy monkey: Distinguished more coffee than banana, but it was there. Also liked the layer of crunch. 5. Raspberry lychee: The raspberry jam was strong and tasty, the floral essence from lychee was subtle. 6. Sesame matcha: Surprisingly citrusy? I did taste some bitterness from the matcha and appreciated the earthy sesame crust. 7. Ube: Sadly did not detect much ube flavor. 8. Earl grey lavender: Definitely the prettiest, but tasted like what I imagine soap would taste like. In terms of whether the chocolate is worth the price: I've never had this experience of trying such diverse and interesting chocolate flavors before so it was for me.
