I came here yesterday for the first time and decided to split an orange cream piece with my friends. My first thought was that it was SO orangey, the first bite was like eating an actual orange itself. It was very citrusy and didn't taste too sweet which was unfortunate because it looks very sweet. I also think it's rather small for $10 and it would've been more worth it had it tasted amazing. The presentation was beautiful but the taste was lacking. When I heard Tous les jours is coming to Holly Springs, I was really happy because I don't have to drive all the way to Cary. The location is perfect, it's at the corner, next to a grocery store, sports place and others with ample parking space. When I got in, I was a bit surprised. It's spacious but it didn't have the feel as the one in HMart. Having the placement of the pastry display and checkout on the same side doesn't let the workers see what is going on with the display. So, when I went, there was a fly locked in one of the display and was happily eating a doughnut. I would normally get a doughnut but I opted out. The workers were unaware of this because it is not in their view. I tried to let it out but it just flew to another spot. The cake display seems bigger than the one at HMart. If you are looking for something light, not too sweet, beautiful or cute cake for an occasion, I'd get one anytime. I know the price might not be like a grocery store one but the taste is amazing. However, if you are looking for a cake that is packed with sugar in their buttercream, this is not a place for you. One side has whole cakes and the other has individual slices and more macarons. The pastries taste the same as the ones at the Korean store. They are light airy and not too sweet. They are delicious. I would like to get a doughnut but next time. It's so small and the aisles are so tight, you can't even enter with the cart. It's extremely awkward to maneuver around the tiny aisles...not exactly Covid-friendly. However, Yes, the place (like everywhere else inside H-Mart) required masks. Now on the positive note! Despite the small, frustrating layout, this location offered some incredible varieties not found in even bigger locations! I bought several varieties to enjoy on the go, as well as to bring home. Especially loved this creamy-cheesy-fruity-puffy pastry (pictured in my car!), this amazing Taro-filled pastry, and this Matcha Green Tea Bread, which had this delicious creamy filling inside. YUM!!! My favorites are any variation of the milk/cream breads. So light and such a yummy filling. The taro/cream bread, which I've only managed to get my hands on once, was fantastic as well. For my birthday I had the chocolate cloud cake and it was so delicious. Light, airy, and not too sweet. Even my asian mom loved it. I also love how they include a disposable cake server with some candles and matches nestled within. They are now my go to for special occasion cakes that don't need to be customized. There's an employee, tall man with glasses there that was staring at me and didnt once look away anytime i looked up, it was while I was shopping at the bakery side, it was very uncomfortable. My husband noticed from afar too and said to me he saw the employee also stared at other women too. I dont know if he just likes to stare at people but there is a lot of work to do when you're at a bakery. I know they say beggars can't be choosers and I realise this is the only legit Korean bakery in the area, but I really wish their breads were a bit more consistently good. While classics like the red bean bun and castella were solid, the chestnut pan bread and some others made me snake my head in puzzlement. The corn bread is another example - unless they count individual kernels, there shouldn't be a reason for each slice to have only one or two bits stuck in it, because just because it's yellow doesn't qualify it as a corn bread. Likewise, the chestnut pan bread would better be renamed a peanut butter pan bread because that's basically what it tastes like and there aren't enough chestnuts in it. On the other hand, the pain au chocolat was decent, sweet potato pastry was great, and the curry croquette was delicious. In other words, we'll be back, just not for the chestnut or corn bread. read more

So starting off TLJ is located inside Hmart right in the middle of the store. They have decent cakes, if you're not into sweet or overly sweet items then I definitely recommend them. My favorite thing to get here though is the pomegranate lychee aid (pomegranate vinegar, lychee syrup, and sparkling water. It's supposed to be good for your skin). There often are long wait times as service is pretty slow and run by mostly teenagers. Also, their milk bread (which lasts only about 3 days) is delicious, sweet, and fluffy. I recommend if you come in for just bubble tea to come in later rather than earlier. For bread and pastries noon is often a good time. read more

Hubby got a birthday cake here, and it's nothing special at all. Paid $35 for a 6" cake or should I say $35 worth of whipped cream!!! For that price, we expected some heavenly cake, but it's such a HUGE disappointment as it's just another typical "cake". I would hardly call this a cake: 1) there is almost one inch of whipped cream in between 0.25" of green tea cake. 2) barely can taste the actual cake, so needless to say, can't pick up the green tea taste 3) if you're gonna charge $35 for whipped cream "cake", at least have the decency to flavor it with some vanilla! 4) if you're trying to be upscale, have some decency to write Happy Birthday on the so call cake professional. The writing is pathetic, it's scribbled on carelessly. A true upscale bakery would still keep the surface full with fruit(instead of cutting back), and use a separate piece of chocolate to write on, and put it on top the the cake. You're better off with cakes from Costco, Harris Teeter, or Publix, because Tous le Jous is nothing but a fancy name with same level of cake quality of a typical retail store, triple the price off course! read more
