Lo and behold, I was right next store getting hand controls put on a new vehicle. I looked over and saw Kim's, and I knew before the day was over I'd be making a visit. Located on Madison Avenue in what looks like an old Hardee's location, the outside doesn't begin to describe the deliciousness that's on the inside. I found a wheelchair ramp, wheeled over, and I'll admit as I entered I wasn't overly impressed. It looks and feels a little worn, however, the baked goods looked amazing and the young woman working was super friendly. So, I decided to give it a chance. I will admit that I have no idea why "cafe" is in the name as I didn't really see anything other than baked goods. However, I do believe in cake, cupcakes, cookies, and other baked goods as an entree so I was super good to go. There are multiple display cases with a wide variety of items. They seem to specialize in cakes, though I suppose I should call them Kakes, and they've got the awards to show for it. I opted for a couple of chocolate fudge cupcakes. They have both small and large. I opted for large because, well, they're cupcakes. My bill was, I believe, $7 and change. Great cupcakes at a fair price. These aren't quite the behemoth decadent things some "chains" tend to go for. These are real cupcakes at a real price (the small ones, if I remember right, were $1.50 - and definitely not more than $1.75. Amazing. The bakery is clean but simple. There's a handful of tables so you can enjoy your item in-house. I saw one cooler that seemed to have some drink items. Basically, this is a bakery. This is an awesome bakery. They do have some gluten-free options. I did not see doughnuts, and I don't see doughnuts on their website. So, do not go there for donuts. (That was my attempt at humor. I failed). Really, I was super pleased here. The ambience is super casual, but let that go - the baked goods are worth it. I'd definitely give Kim's Kakery a visit.

It was a 30 min drive each way from our home. I was handed the cake and given zero instructions. I held the cake on my lap the entire drive in an air conditioned car. Within 10 minutes of leaving the store, I noticed the top half of the 3 was bending backwards (falling over). Once we got home I tried to, very gently, get the 3 propped back up before placing it in the fridge, and it instantly broke off (as seen in the photo). This 3 alone was $10. I reached out to the bakery with photos to let them know. They replied back telling me they weren't responsible once the cake leaves. They did offer to make a new 3 if I wanted to drive the hour round trip for it, but never an apology. Instead, they made it seem like it was my issue and my fault when I couldn't have been more careful. I was just hoping for a refund for the number part, and at the very minimum a simple apology, but no luck. Instead they went even further and indirectly accused me of lying about a different issue with the cake sticking that I wasn't even going to bring up to them until they were so rude. So now I'm trying to overnight something from Amazon to deal with this issue and spend even more. Horrific and RUDE customer service. Never again and I recommend others stay away from getting a custom cake here.

Had to get the pistachio croissant and also a piece of the pistachio cake. My friend got the biscoff cake and I got a piece e of the carrot cake to take home to my husband. They give you a warning about the cake lids- heed their warning as they do not stay on and you should not pick up by the lid! I tasted the biscoff and it was exactly that and so good! The pistachio cake was three smaller layers of cake with what seemed like a lighter buttercream frosting, but not too much and not too sweet either. The cake was light and flavorful. The croissant was large and more than enough to share!
