I woke up early and eagerly counted down the minutes until my pickup time. I arrived at the bakery at exactly 10 a.m. and approached the counter to give my name for the order. However, my enthusiasm quickly turned into confusion when one of the staff members returned, unable to locate my order. She asked me for my full name again, which I provided, but after another five minutes, another woman from the back emerged, confirming they still couldn't find any record of it. I expressed my disbelief, explaining that I had placed my order with Nyla just the day before. In response, Riley, another staff member, sought out Nyla for clarification. Although Nyla acknowledged that my name sounded familiar, she seemed to avoid making eye contact with me, which added to my discomfort.
