You know those coupon books you get in the mail and they advertise mostly home remodeling or appetizers for restaurants? I happen to notice one for Nothing Bundt Cakes for their Shorewood and Naperville location. Of course, I didn't clip the coupon, but now I know where the Naperville location is! I drive by it all the time and never noticed it. This location has been opened for 4 years and going strong. I walked in today, in awe that I found such an adorable shop. I was cheerfully greeted by Kristine and she went straight into their free sample flavor of the month. I didn't even have a chance to presume she was going to ask me if I needed help, but she got me hooked with their product with ease. Another customer walked in as I was sampling the flavor of the month, strawberries and creme which is only available in April and May and I kid you not it tastes amazing. Kristine helped the other customer while I snapped pictures and looked around. As the other customer finished her purchase, she looked at me and told me I wouldn't be disappointed with any flavors here and started telling me how much she loves this place! Cakes are very oily and way too sweet. The frosting is nothing but pure sugar, no flavor at all. It's not worth the price.

I originally discovered Nothing Bundt Cakes while in California and was happy they opened one close to home. If you haven't tried the yummy bundt cakes from this place, you are missing out on a treat! Cutesy little cake shop features small sized cakes with lots of delicious flavor! My personal favorite is the white chocolate raspberry cake. I've tried the red velvet, carrot, lemon and marble. The cakes are moist and the frosting generously applied! All are very tasty! They are now selling white chocolate popcorn, it's good, but for me it's all about the cake for this girl! read more

Awesome new location. They have been open for a few weeks now. It's conveniently located in the strip mall front of the AMC movie theater, just a few doors down from Potbelly. Everyone is really friendly and the mini bundt cakes are fantastic. I think for the size, they are very reasonable at $4.03 (including tax). They have a different "bundt of the month" - this month's flavor is white chocolate blueberry. I bought one this past weekend it and thought it was quite moist and very flavorful. But my top picks are the lemon and the pecan praline! P.S. They often have a tray of samples so you can try before you buy... this is how I initially found my current favs. I probably wouldn't have purchased those particular flavors so they quite clever to have the samples.! read more

Nothing Bundt Cakes exceeded my expectations. See, I almost typed "sexceeded," and maybe it's because their cake is sex-like good. I sampled the double chocolate chip and chose to buy two mini bundt cakes. At $4 each, they are big enough to share with someone, but I wanted to try more than one flavor. $4 seemed like a lot for one dessert, but these cakes are larger than an ordinary cupcake and costs less than a dessert in a fancy restaurant. The White Chocolate Raspberry was really good, and I could taste white chocolate and raspberry in every bite. The Pecan Praline was my favorite of the two. The cream cheese frosting combined with the crunchy brown sugary coating was heavenly! They offer several flavors every day, maybe about 10, and I was tempted by quite a few. They also rotate one daily (monthly?) flavor - the day of my visit was "Chocolate Turtle." Nothing Bundt Cakes also offers cakes in larger sizes, and they do fundraisers with the local high school's business department. It was a perfect treat after a heinous day at work, and since they are on my way home, I know I'll be back! read more

I wasn't as impressed as I thought I might be. I do agree that the location is perfect and the price is right at least for the mini bundt cakes. However, I just thought they were....eh. They had a few flavors to choose from and I went with lemon because that tends to be my favorite. I found the incing to be really thick and sweet, which would be a plus to some people but I kind of wished that there was far less frosting on my bundt. The person who rung me up seemed friendly enough, and even on the extremely snowy day that I went there was a line of people getting bundts. They did have a sample out of one of the flavors, which I found helpful. One woman came in and asked for a larger cake for a birthday present and even though they didn't have the flavor she wanted ready, the lady behind the counter told her if she could wait 20 minutes that they had fresh cakes in back that they could ice for her. I thought that it was great that you could get a cake on such short notice. But anyway...I guess I just prefer cupcakes to this and there is a good cupcake place down the street from here that I would probably choose over this. I had such high hopes for this place when I saw all the raving, but I hate to say that I was really disappointed with this place. I love bundt cakes in general, as they're usually made with a more robust, hearty cake as opposed to the finer, lighter, more delicate chiffons, angel's foods, and even (from scratch) yellows, but these were a little more glutinous than even I was expecting, making them more chewy than any cake I've ever eaten, and denser than I would have liked. They also don't taste very good, and though I wouldn't quite describe the taste as out-of-the-box, I wouldn't describe it as that much better, as it shares that same artificial, overly processed, sugary taste. I guess I would describe it as a higher quality out-of-the-box cake, which is still something I'm not interested in. The truth is I should have known that I wasn't going to like this place when I saw that ALL the cakes had the exact same 'cream cheese?' frosting (which was too much and too sweet). This uniformity was symptomatic of the general, uniform, cookie-cutter nature of these cakes. I bought two on my first--and last--visit there: the white chocolate raspberry, and the lemon--two flavors that I love. Although I do believe that there was real raspberry and real lemon in their respective cakes, it was hard to appreciate that with the generally artificial taste, the strange frosting, and the abundance of sugar. I didn't want to finish either one. I really don't like to give businesses a one-star rating, which is what I would rate the product here, but at least the inside of the store was warm, clean, and inviting, and the two people I interacted with were friendly and professional. So I guess at least the experience didn't leave a bad taste in my mouth. read more

I worked with managers, Carol & Julie, on a sweet table for my step-daughter's wedding. They spent time with me going over everything, figuring out the displays and working with me on a discount for the almost 40 dozen bundtinis I'm ordering. They will even deliver and setup at the venue for $25 each. The rest of the staff is extremely friendly as are the managers. They always have a tasting available upon entering the store. In calling another Nothing Bundt Cakes, I chose this one for the discount, not to mention the very moist and flavorful cakes! I will update review after the November wedding. read more

I spotted this place originally in Wheaton. I never got around to actually stepping foot in there because when I'm in the area I'm doing other shopping and probably not looking to indulge in a bundt cake but this place has forever been on my "to try" list. I got a groupon-type deal for $20 worth of goodies from this place so I decided this would be a nice treat for a girl's night in I was having at my place. I picked up a dozen bundtinis and grabbed a few of the minis for a meeting I was attending that afternoon to cut up and share. These things are amazing!!! So moist and tasty...the frosting isn't over bearing, they are just perfect. I very much recommend this place for your cake needs... so good!!! Very reasonable in price, sizes are good, and I got decent service while in the store. Again, this is for the Naperville location (not Wheaton) I originally spotted this place in Wheaton but my deal was for Naperville. I am in love with this store - delicious flavors, moist cake and the cream cheese frosting - I could eat buckets of that stuff. Everyone at the store was so kind and friendly. Had a pecan praline here. Also tasted the lemon tart. Really loved the pecan cake (never been a fan of lemon tarts, so...). The flavors in the pecan cake were very good. The moistness in the cake made it easy to bite in. What I didn't really appreciate was the cream topping. It was way too sugary for me. May be it's just me.. I am definitely not a sugary butter cream kinda guy. I m thinking of getting my cake without any cream next time. But one thing is for sure..I ll back! read more

I just love the cakes here. I was unsure when they first opened because it didn't look like the frosting covered the entire cake but after having a bundtlett I see why. The frosting is really thick. It's plenty! One think i do notice is that the bigger the cake the more moist it is. The bundtini and bundlett are not near as moist as the full size cakes. read more

Like the tast of the cake. Only one point for them to take as an input - I am a repeat customer for the wonderful cake for its taste. But they have little decorations on cake available which holds lot of other customers who look for taste and some decorations - primarily for kids birthday/ or any event repeated to children. I will start this review by saying I DO NOT LIKE CAKE. However, I went in today and was directed to the sample of the lemon cake. Moist as fuck. So I thought to myself, maybe we should try a bundlet. I asked the cashier her faves she said the chocolate chocolate chip or red velvet. I went with the red velvet. Another thing to note, I don't like red velvet, but when I TOOK MY FIRST BITE!!!!! WOW. This has got to be one of the best bakeries in Naperville and even the state! The decorations and interior are absolutely stunning and colors are very vibrant and fun for this type of place. The staff here are super friendly and greet you and offer assistance when you walk through the door. There are also samples of a certain flavor they are offering to give you an insight to which cake to choose. The cakes made here are unbelievably moist and sweet to the point where it isn't overwhelming, but also very flavorful. My personal favorite is the white chocolate raspberry which has a raspberry filling in the core of the cake. The prices for the cakes are not expensive at all and "bundts" only cost 3.99!! Definitely pay a visit if you want to have some awesome cake. read more

I have now had 3 different interactions with the owner of this store. On each occasion I came away feeling she was rude and bordering on insulting. The first time was before the store opened she stopped in my office to drop off free samples and free bundtlett coupons. She spent the entire time interrupting and talking over the man she was with and then bad mouthed the gourmet cupcake place that is just down the street. I understand that starting a new business is an incredibly stressful undertaking, and shameless self promotion is completely ok, but bashing another local small business owner was not cool. But I tried the samples and they were tasty, plus I had coupons for free stuff so I decided to give it another try. The second time was just after the store opened, I stopped in to price out getting about 10 dozen bundtinis for a shower. I asked if they would be willing to do a special order since it was a large purchase she said everything they offered could be found in the booklet. She handed me a price brochure and walked away aimlessly into the back. There weren't even any other customers in the store, so I wasn't taking time from other people. I left without placing an order. Yesterday I went in to use my free bundtlet coupon and buy a dozen assorted bundtinis for a birthday party. I was handed a box of their top 4 flavors without being asked if I wanted to choose what I wanted and had to stand at the counter while she rolled her eyes and was rude to the young girl that was ringing me up. My point here is this: the bundts are good, quality ingredients but no unusual/unexpected flavors. They're not great. They're sticky and relatively small and for what they're charging I expected much more creative flavors. But I can forgive these things because at the end of the day its a decent dessert and who doesn't love dessert. What I can't forgive is that on 3 seperate occasions I was met by a rude woman who came off as completely unwilling to make an effort to gain and maintain a new customer. I helped my mom host a baby shower at her house this past weekend. She placed the order for a few dozen bundtinis and I picked up the order a few days later. Shortly after the pick up I receiveda call from the owner apologizing and saying they had forgotten to use the bundt cups my mom provided (pink polka dot cups- hey, it was a baby shower everything was cutesy). I had a dozen other errands to run to prepare for this shower and was not going to have time to go back. The owner took down my address and personally dropped off the cups AND a dozen free bundts. I was very impressed with the lengths they went to to make up for the minor mishap. They really know how to treat their customers which is so refreshing! I really have to stop listening to my kids!!! Those Millennials think everything is "awesome." No offense Millennials. My son and his girlfriend raved about these little cakes. I was intrigued so we bought 3 different flavors @ $4 a cake. We bought white-white chocolate, white chocolate raspberry, and marble. We had our own cake tasting. I was really excited about the white-white chocolate, I expected it to taste like...well...white chocolate or as good as white chocolate can taste. Instead, it tasted very similar to regular run of the mill yellow cake. Next; the white chocolate raspberry. I love the tartness of raspberries but the cake had a minimum swirl of artificial raspberry puree; not impressed with the artificial purée after taste. Finally, we dug into the marble. The chocolate cake was tremendously lacking. It was mostly the same yellow cake flavor as the "white-white chocolate". Then I got to thinking, "are they repackaging the same yellow cake but adding a fancy new flavor sticker?" It was a little suspect. But, they get points for cleverness. I had one of those "why didn't I think of that?" moments. However, if I'm spending $4 for a cake that's the size of my fist, I want it to be made with butter and taste it in every bite. These cakes are not made with butter. I do give them credit for a super moist texture and delicious yet really sweet buttercream frosting that made my teeth hurt which reminded me to call my dentist.
